    Nice truck in parking lot!!!!

Fish and Chips batter seem over done cooked in old oil. Waitress was very friendly and fun. Place was extremely slow for a Friday night. Been here twice now my place.

I love this restaurant ! It's the best sit down restaurant in Springfield. It's a safe place for your whole and family to go eat at. All the food is delicious here. I love the large salads and the fish is amazing. Nice friendly staff. I highly recommend you go eat here before anywhere else in Springfield.

Horrible experience! Very disappointed! I came here for their Fish & Chips. They were so good in the past, but today I don't know what this was. Before I get to the food let me explain my experience up to that point. The restaurant was freezing! They sat me at a dark booth that had a burnt out light bulb. After my food was delivered. I asked for more Ketchup which I never got. I've ordered Fish and Chips from here three times in the past and loved them. This time they just brought me breaded cod with zero flavor. I took a couple of bites and spit it out. I mean this was honestly horrible. I brought it to the girl behind the bar's attention and she proceeds to argue with me that my experience is wrong! I told her I wasn't eating that and she said I could leave and no charge. I couldn't believe it! This place went from a place I'd recommend to a place I will never be back in an instant. This employee didn't care at all what my experience was with their restaurant.

Pretzel bites with the best cheese sauce that I have had to date.

Alright. There are many reasons why I think this is worth 5 stars. I love French Onion Soup and Alyssa, our server, and my mother boast that it is the best. First, upon entry, it screams Irish Pub. The hostess seated us quickly in a booth. Second, the music is nice and low enough where you can carry on a conversation. Loud music is a BIG pet peeve of mine. Third...oh, so thankful for Alyssa. When you get her, ask her to tell you a joke. What did the fish say when it hit the wall? Answer is dam. Our 3 appetizers were awesome. The Asian Chicken Wontons are great for the person that doesn't like Irish food. Mom just said that she would drive over for the Fried Portabella Mushrooms. The Irish Coffee was so good that I had 2. Decaf please. Waiting for the French Onion Soup and I am sure I won't be disappointed. Update: about that French Onion Soup...they didn't have the ingredients to make it. It is OK Alyssa is such the comedian that she should do standup comedy. This was the highlight of our night to cap off a great vacation.

O'Connors, while it's not my favorite Irish pub, is good enough for a beer and some apps from time to time. It's an attractive place with a nice bar and patio. They've got a good sized menu and the people that work there are nice enough. Their beer selection is decent (more local stuff please) and their prices are right in line with a nicer place in a smaller city. They have a pretty good Happy Hour in the afternoon that's worth checking out. So why not 4 or 5 stars? 1. The service can be weird. The last time I was there I ordered a Turkey Reuben which comes with fries. The server brought me the sandwich but no fries because "You didn't say you wanted the fries". What? SMH over that one. 2. This is the only Irish pub that I've been to that never plays Irish music, just country. That's a big ambiance killer. 3. Their food can be really good, or not. My biggest issue: An Irish pub should have awesome Fish and Chips but at O'Conners, they don't. My take is at the bottom of my review. So all in all, 3 stars sounds like a fair rating. And A Little Food For Thought: (A+) Chicken Wonton Tacos. There's nothing Irish about these but that gingery sweet chicken on those crispy shells are the best thing on the menu. (B+) Cheese Sticks. Hard to mess up. They're good, thick and cheesy. (B) Rachel Sandwich/Turkey Reuben with fries is a solid sandwich and a good value for the money. It's better with cole slaw by the way. (B) Scotch Eggs. My dining partner polished them off and said they were pretty good. (B-) Pizza. They make a decent enough pie here. Nothing to get excited about but it's a good Zaa when you're drinking and need something to soak up all that alcohol. (D+) Fish and Chips. Disappointing. You get two huge logs that almost cover the plate. You'll get a several crunchy bites at first but then that thick batter starts to soak up all that grease and before you know it, you just end up with mush. My tip for O'Connor's: copy Dublin Pub's recipe.

Deep fried pickles, I don't remember asking for them to be half deep fried and served with raw batter. Maybe this is something new? Yuck.
    Sandy P.

Well here we go again, I went with others who either have no idea about this place or don't give 2 sh!t$. I ordered deep fried pickles that came out exactly as pictured. Literally missing half the batter, raw uncooked batter filling as well as rubbery pickles. This is going to be a treat later tonight once it passes through the digestive track, which shouldn't be too long. Sigh....

OFF THE LIST....!!! THIS is how you get PERMANENTLY booted off of my "go to" list: -Have a hostess that seems half disappointed you've shown up, and takes you (reluctantly) to an "after-thought" table behind a half wall, even when other seating is available -Waitress walks by you close to half a dozen times, pretending you're not there, without any acknowledgement/"sorry, I'll be right with you," then you see her hanging out and laughing w/other wait staff... -Sloooooooooooow service when you're finally noticed, up until the point when it's time to get the bill... No, wait!! We WEREN'T ready for our check the three times you came to see if we were done!! -"Clean up/Go Home!!!" crew start cleaning up ALL AROUND YOU when it's not even 10pm yet (and there are still customers at the bar AND a ton of drinkers/diners outside!!! This is a reverse case of "don't judge a book by its cover..." It IS a nice place, and they've put a lot of work into this new location, but there's no sense going back to a nice-looking place that has lousy service and will nickel and dime you (extra $2 for onions and peppers on your steak sandwich??!? An $11.50 large draft??!?) when there ARE better options, YES, even here in Springfield. Sorry, not looking for "special" service or attention here, just the basics, but we DID NOT find them last week, and more than likely won't be back... \

The high-top tables in the outside bar area need to be replaced.

We stopped for a drink and an appetizer (pretzels were great) because this restaurant is located in a plaza along the Simon Kenton Trail - a bike trail that runs from Bellefontaine to Dayton. O'Connor's looks amazing from the distant street, a modern take on the traditional Irish pub. From what I saw inside, the booths had high wood-paneled backs that would create that intimate pub table setting. We sat at the outdoor bar area, and that part of the restaurant needs a few small improvements. While the metal patio tables were fine, the high-top tables really need to be replaced. Pieces of the wooden tables were simply gone, black paint was missing, and the paint that was there was tacky or sticky. There were also more flies in the outdoor bar area that one would expect in a spot with a gentle breeze. In general, the place probably needs a good cleaning.

These were replace the ones she brought with the burgers. Believe me this photo gives them justice! Come On, get your act together!

Cool place. Cool service. Good food. KBBA on tap. What more can you want?…read more I had the fish and chips. They use haddock, which is nice. The breading is yummy, and thin- not obnoxious. 9/10 as far as fish and chips go... lets face it, fish and chips is a 5/10 food, but this is really good fish and chips. Here's where it gets good. My friend ordered shepherds pie. I've had no interest in shepherds pie since the first time I tried it, but when they brought it out, it looked delicious, so I had to ask for a bite... and another one... and another one. She couldn't eat the whole thing, so we got a to-go box... which I stole and ate her leftovers, because this was a stonking good shepherds pie. So yeah.... had an outstanding serving of a mediocre food, and discovered that the first time I had shepherd's pie, it was garbage. Fun place, good food. I'll be back.

The place was busy as heck and it was a little challenging to find parking because it's part of a strip mall and other restaurants on the strip. Also need places for their customers to park. I found out when I got there that it turns out for St. Patrick's Day specifically they open at 8 AM instead of the normal 11 AM. Consequently, the entire restaurant was full, all seats were taken, even at the bar. And because they had Entertainment, starting at 9 AM. They started charging a five dollar cover charge. Not really a big deal when you consider they had a couple bins of live entertainment as well as a DJ who serviced the outdoor seating area later in the afternoon. At the entry table there were a couple T-shirt designs for sale at $20 each as well as free bead, necklaces, gold or green. I was told that at the very beginning at opening they also had little green hats, but I was too late for them. Browse around, everyone was having fun, talking and music was pretty loud, but it was a fun vibe. Eventually, I found a single little table in the outdoor seating area. It's included in some sort of Long tent assembly, which I think is a metal frame covered by a tarp or what almost looks like denim material. When you look across the bottom of the material all the way around the perimeter, you can see the wind blowing in there underneath. In the outdoor exterior seating portion, there were four of those tall large heating elements, but even though I was merely two or 3 feet away from one I only got a little bit of the heat from where I was seated. It was welcome, for sure, but wish I were warmer. Lol. Coincidentally, I also made the mistake of only come in with a hoodie. Again, I thought or assumed they were opening at 11 AM so I thought I'd easily find a spot inside. Also coincidentally it was cold as heck, so cold that sometimes when I talked, my teeth were chattering, and I could see my breath as I spoke The waitresses were great, and the ambience was pretty cool. They had a special St. Patrick's Day menu and from the drink menu, I ordered an Irish coffee, and part to stay warm, and something that was a 50/50 combination of two types of Guinness beer. The game plan to have a hot beverage along with a beer seemed like a good idea initially but then sometime during the meal I switched it so I was drinking the beer, faster than I was the Irish coffee, so the plan backfired when the Irish coffee soon cooled off. Lots of awesome stuff on the menu. I think a little of the pricey side, but I can look past that if I go for a special occasion. Although I wanted to order most everything on the menu, I ended up getting Irish eggrolls (I'm told it's hot seller), and corn, beef and cabbage (you know, because the St. Patrick's Day) both were delicious. I always trim off the pieces of fat off the outside of the slices of corned beef, which I must say were extremely lean, which I appreciate. The cabbage was delicious and I wish there was a lot more with it. And if I'm not mistaken, there was mashed potatoes along with it. Kind of shaped like an upside down bowl like they do in Asian restaurants. It had a delicious, homemade horseradish sauce, and I had to order an extra little cup of it on the side, so I had enough. The Irish eggrolls were delicious and kind of reminded me of a Reuben sandwich, just in eggroll form. The waitresses looked great in there uniforms and were real troopers considering how freaking cold the weather was. If I remember, one of them was wearing jean pants, while another was wearing warm leggings. Bad props to them for braving the weather to serve us people in the outdoor seating area. We appreciate you and your hard work! While seated outdoors, a woman came around and they were doing some kind of drawing that you could participate in. Something like, "win the pot ". Restrooms were fine. I can only speak for the men's room obviously since I went solo. Overall, a fun time. Live entertainment. I think they were supposed to be dancing girls, but I didn't see any. I think it was when I was focused on eating and staying warm. I did manage to catch a guy doing bagpipes though. That was cool. I don't know if she worked for the restaurant/pub, but there was a woman going around offering these little adjustable rings to all the women around the restaurant. That was a cool touch. They look like little gemstones. A definite recommend!

McClellan's Pub delivered a plate of Fish & Chips so good I briefly considered applying for dual citizenship with Ireland and Great Britain just to honor both sides of the dish. Perfectly crispy, piping hot, and seasoned like the chef whispered sweet nothings to the fryer. The whiskey selection? Huge. Titanic. Practically its own ZIP code. But not a drop of Powers. , A tragedy Shakespeare himself would've rewritten entire scenes for. So, like any self-respecting Irish-at-heart patron, I defaulted to good old Jameson--reliable, comforting, and always there for you, like that one friend who helps you move because they "actually like lifting things." I also grabbed to-go orders for the home tribe: bourbon meatballs, prime rib sliders, and meatloaf. The feedback? Universal acclaim. They devoured everything like I'd brought them a peace offering after years of conflict. If McClellan's ever launches a catering service, entire families could be reunited. The place was packed through Happy Hour and well beyond--apparently, half of Columbus had the same idea. If popularity is a metric of quality, this pub is basically Beyoncé. Temperature-wise? A bit chilly. Could've been the weather... could've been the pub... could've been the frigid realization that they were this close to having my favorite whiskey. Hard to say. Bring a jacket just in case. All in all, McClellan's is a rock-solid choice for hearty pub eats, stellar vibes, and enough whiskey to make you forget they didn't have the one you wanted.
