We arrived early and took some time to stroll up and down the cobble‑stoned streets of Dayton's historic Oregon District, enjoying the window shopping before heading into Blind Bob's. The pub fits right into the neighborhood's character -- lively, full of personality, and steeped in history. Inside, the atmosphere is pure rock 'n roll: casual, energetic, and welcoming. I tried their famed pickle soup, which was cream‑based and reminded me of broccoli and cream soup, with just a subtle pickle flavor that wasn't overpowering. It was okay, but the real standout was the IPA collaboration with Toxic Brewing, a neighboring brewery -- crisp, flavorful, and very good. Nicole had a burger and enjoyed it alongside two of those same Toxic Brewing IPAs (I don't recall the name, but they were excellent). Our host was friendly, service was quick, and judging by the tables around us, everyone else seemed to be enjoying their grub too. A colleague from work joined us and generously picked up the tab, which made the visit even more memorable. Randomly stopped in for a late lunch after going to the record store down the street. The staff was nice and they were selling some art from local artists which was cool. The food took a little bit of time, but came out hot and fresh and tasted amazing. Website said they have live music which would be fun. This was an okay bar, but the highlight for me was the photo machine. I love them. Boyf and I posed after I swiped my card for the $6.56 charge. I then got a text confirming my photos were coming soon. They didn't. The next day I called Bob's to get a contact for the machine and was given a phone #. I left a message and later got a text advising he would open a ticket for me. He got my email and I waited. Nothing. I sent a follow up text and still haven't received anything. After ditching another local brewery for a couple disappointing, I decided to try this place. Since I walked here, I can't comment on parking but it appeared to be street parking only. There's both inside and outside seating. I sat at the bar and ordered up some deep fried mushrooms and a beer. The mushrooms were pretty good and so was the beer. I know there was at least one TV monitor inside, but there might have been more. This felt like a locals hangout. However, chatting up others at the bar...I felt very welcomed. We typically go to Blind Bob's for brunch. The food is always great, they have good vegetarian options. The Hula Hoops are AMAZING- trust me and just order. This mid morning in particular, we all had omelets. I had the southwest omelet. The plate weighed about 40lbs it comes with sour cream and salsa on the side. I'd say if you have a hangover this one will cure it. My friends had the veggie omelet and they were both pleased with their choices. Bob's is casual and fun atmosphere. They do music frequently, the staff is down to earth, friendly and ready to get your grub! Tony and I took a day trip to Dayton..I like History and He likes drinking so he goes to the museums with me and I go to the bars with him. I love the bright bold colors and funky design in here. I absolutely love Blind Bob's! Everything about this place is awesome! Starting with location, right in the heart of Dayton's Oregon District. Next, the food is outstanding...like everything I've had on the menu is a 10 but I must say my favorite is the Grilled PB&J!! (Pictured). I'll admit I was a little scared to try it the first time but damn it's amazing!! Their burgers are also dynamite and the hand battered Chicken Strips are seriously some of best I've ever had...and that says a lot!! And if that wasn't enough, their weekend brunch is just as good. I recommend the NASCAR Omelette. But it's seriously all good. Drinks? A good selection of rotating taps of good beer and a fairly full bar. And of course mimosas during brunch. I loveeee this place. Mostly I love the food and employees. I get bobs pb&j almost every time we go. It has honey, peanut butter, jam, nuts and it's grilled to perfection. It's the ultimate comfort food. Their burgers are huge and very tasty too. I always enjoy their soups too, they change it up often. My boyfriend likes their pickle soup because it's light and even has potatoes in it. We almost always get the same waitress and she is so friendly and always has something fun to talk about. I came here with a rather large party for dinner. We showed up right at the beginning of the dinner rush, so we luckily got seats immediately. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken and my husband got the screamer (chicken teriyaki sandwich). I really enjoyed mine, it had great heat! Just a warning, it does not come with ranch or any other sauces, so if you need that with hot food - order it! My husband liked his sandwich and said it's his favorite chicken sandwich he's ever tried. The staff was also very friendly. First of all, this place has nothing to do with window treatments. According to their website, Blind Bob's is an "American Tavern" and I'd have to agree with that description. There's plenty of food and drinks and a busy, hustle and bustle atmosphere during Sunday Brunch. It's uber casual, comfortable and inviting. I can see why it's a big hit with the folks in the Oregon District of Dayton. They were definitely understaffed on a busy Sunday afternoon but they still made sure they took care of us from start to finish. Kudos and bonus points for them. As for lunch, everyone in our party was happy with their food, except me. The chicken and waffles, burgers, teriyaki chicken sandwiches and omelettes that were brought out from the kitchen were definite hits. I ordered the Ultimate Falafel with a side of potato chips but unfortunately, I chose badly this time. It really just wasn't very good. I even shared some of it with a couple of my dining partners and they agreed that it was pretty "Meh". Oh well. The chips were pretty damned good, homemade and fresh with just the right saltiness to them. Libby V. shared some of her omelette with me and it was really good. I know what to get the next time. So the short and sweet: It could have been better, it could have been worse but hanging out with some of Dayton and Springfield's top Yelpers really made my day. Who the hell invented pickle soup and why does it taste so good?? My sister and her friend told me about the pickle soup for years before I made it here to try it. Now I am hooked. It's the perfect level of creamy and tangy with a strong dill flavor. I would come back just to get a giant bowl of soup!! I ordered the cool, calm, and collected sandwich. It's a cold veggie sandwich with cheese and hummus served on toasted bread. It's pretty tasty and probably the best choice on the menu if you're looking for a healthy option. My husband ordered the wings with buffalo sauce. They are massive and extremely delicious. The buffalo sauce was unique (didn't taste like Franks from a bottle) and the wings were super crispy. Yelp brought me here as Bourbon pickle spears had me intrigued. Turnoff #1 panhandlers outside asking for money as we entered and left. The pickle spears were disappointing as breading was falling off and served in a paper boat with grease. Told bartender about it and he said he would tell the chef. Ya right. The pickle soup was really good and spouse and kid liked their cheeseburgers and fries. Bartender also waited tables and had to go to bar to get water refills. I always heard about the food here and so I had to come and try it. A nice local place, with nice music playing and nice servers. The hula hoops are amazing ! And the sauce that comes with it is one of the best sauces I have ever tasted in my life, no exaggeration. It's sweet and compliments the fried pineapples well. It was my first time tasting fries macaroni and I can say that it is good too. I didn't have expectations but I'm glad I did decide to taste it. The wings were okay, they are indeed jumbo wings. I had bourbon sauce on them and some on the side but they barely looked tossed in the sauce as I thought they would be. The potato fries are good and so is the burger. The food here was good overall. Blind Bob's... To-the-point service, to the point of brusque. To wit: "do you have Dr. Pepper?" My son asked. "No" retorted the waitress (yes. I know the term of art is "server"...). And that was it. "No". Not the expected "No, however we have X, Y, Z..." My son's southern manners seemed off-putting from the onset, as his addressing her as "ma'am" caused a certain bristling. (As a man sourced from a Massachusetts father and a French mother, my unawareness of southern gentility was once as pronounced but never as curtly displayed) This - mind you - was only a speedbump. Truthfully, the experience planed above water shortly before the midpoint - before we were served. Kids had burgers. I had Blind Bob's Benedict (a curiosity given that the menu states the eggs can be prepped any way but poached (Benedict being "kitchen-speak" for poached). Tasty - but it's okay to be a wee bit more friendly - especially in the service industry. I'm giving this a 4-star rating because it's entirely possible that manners are simply overlooked in these parts - in which case you patrons from these environs will probably get by just fine! read more
