I'm giving 4 stars because I like the Irish pub vibe and the food is always good but they really do need to work on their service. Our table of four ordered the onion straws, 2 Rucks, a blackened chicken salad, and a bowl of soup. The onion straws came out first and I asked the guy who delivered them if we could please have appetizer plates. He said ok, but never did bring them. The salad arrived without the dressing and there was no spoon for the soup. We asked for a spoon from the same guy but he never did come back. We had to flag down our server who brought it over a few minutes later without an apology for the wait. I could see the servers were spread thin and waiting on a lot of tables each but if the person delivering the food would have pitched in a bit, things would have run much smoother. read more

Always passed by this place with their iconic giant duck on the roof! Place is great and nice place to get a drink or a meal if you're hungry. Space is very chill and relax. Loud enough where you can speak freely and still hear the other person. Food is really delicious! Got their Fish n Chips with potato soup! Both tasted really great and was such a huge fish! Very sad. There were seven total tables seated. We never got a menu, had to go find nice from another table. Refused to watch the national championship game. Instead showed 45 minutes worth of commercials for their patrons. We waited 45 minutes to an hour for food. I've been in the hospitality business for over a decade, and I can tell you that the failures are 100% on mismanagement. Wait staff is doing the best they can with what they are given. Food was the only saving aspect. It was good. This place could be awesome with good management. If I was partner in this place I would be higher concerned. read more

We were walking around the Oregon District of Dayton and at miles upon the Dublin Pub. They advertise that they are a top 10 pub in the US and I can see why. We sat outside due to the gorgeous weather. Our server, Nikisha, was awesome. We had the Super Sampler that comes with pretzels and cheese, fried pickles, pub fries and Blarney stones. We were stuffed so we didn't order an entree. The sampler was delicious and we particularly loved the pretzels and cheese. I tried a couple of the draft beers including the Grain Works white ale and a beer brewed at the Dayton Brewing Company. They were cold and refreshing. What a cool place! The food and service were outstanding and the atmosphere is exactly what you picture an Irish pub to be. Our bartender was amazing and made some good suggestions. Went for lunch on 3/23 for lunch, upon arriving we were seated and our drink orders taken along with appetizers. Upon ordering our food 4 people wanted the fish and chips(the main reason we came) they are known for the waitress told us they are out of the normal fish but had fish sticks so they went ahead and ordered it. Two of us ordered sandwiches one was the ribeye and the other was prime rib on weck the waitress came back and told us they were out of both of those along with the Brussel sprouts we had ordered also. It was very disappointing after a 1.5 hour drive and 200 dollars. The atmosphere was pretty cool except it appeared there was a sock stuck to the ceiling. The men's restroom smelled horrible like dried pee. Food was ok but not worth the drive or price in my opinion really wanted to love the place too but for the drive not sure I'll return the onion straws were the star of the meal read more

However, we drove an hour to eat there and the first thing wrong was when I ordered brussel sprouts, they were out, then our meal finally came we got fish dinners and asked for more in house made tarter sauce, they were out of that too. They brought me a few generic packs of tartar sauce that were horrible. My fish was very bland and mushy. The shrimp that came with my meal were the best I have ever had. I went to The Dublin Pub on July 5th with my girlfriend. It's a very big and colorful pub/restaurant with an awesome Irish vibe. It's a casual place but classy. It also had plenty of parking and it's a really big dining/eating area. For dinner I had the fish and chips and a coke. My girlfriend had the shrimp and chips. Everything was fried perfectly. I really loved my fish including the chips. Many similar businesses offer fish and chips and the chips are fried but mushy or cold inside. These chips were really good and something I actually wanted to eat. The portions were a really good size and included a small serving of coleslaw. Service was very good. We were seated quickly, our order was taken fast and wait time for the food was minimal. Not bad for a Friday night. We didn't stay for drinks but they have a fully stocked bar and even some specialty drinks. They had Delta 8 cocktails, which I never heard of and would pass on anyways. However, there is a two drink limit so that says something. I highly recommend and will be back. read more

I had a private event (in the Jameson room) for a group of 30. I worked the menu out with Amanda in advance. The service was awesome, the food was awesome and the room had a very cool pub vibe (shocker), even for a business meeting. Back to the food, though. The Beef Boxty was outstanding. I haven't ever had it before, so I didn't know what to expect. But, I looked it up, on line, it sounded interesting, and I glad I had it. It was so good. I will likely be back when I can enjoy everything in a non-business setting. Nice place! read more

First of all there's free and easy parking. The restaurant is a pub...duh and that's what it's like inside. We went for lunch and it was pretty busy with a number of patrons watching a game. We went with classic fish and chips. I had shrimp and chips. The portions were huge for the fish. The chips were fantastic. Service was good. All in all a solid stop. read more

Always heard good things about the food so we decided to try it before a show. Reminded me of the smaller pubs in Dublin, very clean and good pub atmosphere. Wife ordered the battered shrimp with pub fries, I ordered the double fish and pub fries to share. Shrimp was good, large and not over cooked, pub fries were as well. The fish (breading) however was undercooked on both pieces. Fish itself is large (about a foot each) and tasted good but breading was soggy and undercooked inside, not crispy. Ended up pulling the fish out of the breading to eat it. Ordered a cheesecake to share, tasted like it was frozen and it was more grainy than creamy. Cost wasn't too bad considering we had drinks and desert, but the food was lacking. Will try again but disappointed with the visit. I can not honestly say if this place was good. We went in, there was no host it was seat your self. Three of us sat at a five top waiting on my husband to park, then they came over and did not like that the three of us sat at a 5 top, the only table free that would fit four people. Problem that could have been solved by a host. Then the menu was not what was online (it was still brunch at 2pm) and we came specifically for the menu. So when I asked if we could order from the regular menu the waiter slammed my water down and rudely said NO! So we left end of story. I don't stay where I am treated poorly. First, let me set the scene. It is a Tuesday night in Dayton. We have just had Winter Storm Blair blow through and I have been shut in my hotel for the past few days. My hotel has a restaurant but that is all I will say about that. The roads had been cleared today so praise to the city workers making it ok for me to escape my hotel confine and explore. The next challenge was finding a place that was open. As I was downtown and most places were closed. As I carefully drove down the street, I say the Dublin Pub. The lights were on. There were a few cars. I passed it, turned around and cruised into the parking lot. Entering the place, of course, it was almost empty. There were three other parties sitting, drinking, and eating. the ambiance was chill since it was empty due to the snow storm. I parked myself up at the bar and asked for a lager. I drank down a Harp and it was pure bliss. Taking a look at the menu, I went for the fish & chips, I also ordered the cheese curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds arrived fast and were hot and delish. I ordered my second lager which was the Wolf's Ridge Purdy Purdy Red Lager. Very good beer and my Fish & Chips arrived. I splashed on my malt vinegar (I am a purist with fish and chips) and they were perfect! I only got the single plank. It is big. I can't imaging downing the second plank of if I had ordered it but if you have an appetite, this should appease it. After a long day of airline travel from Texas we were ready to sit and wind down with a cold one. That didn't disappoint. The local beer on draft was delicious. After a couple of good beer we were ready to order. A couple of us wanted the potato soup in the pretzel bread bowl but they were all out of bread so they came out in regular bowls but we had them take it back to the kitchen to heat up. The couple with us shared poutine fries and Beef boxty. Only comments made was that it had way too much cheese but flavorful. Service was OK though one entree was forgotten when everyone got their food so it was a short wait to get the food delivered. Music was enjoyable. It was loud but everyone there seemed to be having a great time. On our way out the couple providing the music we're outside and we spent time visiting with them. If you believe that "Irish" and "Pub" just naturally go together you will LOVE this place! It's been around for 25 years but looks ancient- old hardwood, stone, Irish carvings, high rafters, little snuggeries, wooden tables, and a bar that looks like it flew across the pond in the 19th century. Built of reclaimed materials from buildings that went back hundreds of years. The lighting is low, and when you're inside it's really easy to forget you're in a Midwestern city in the 21st century. We're talking atmosphere. Came just before noon on a Saturday. Our young waiter was Steve, who was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. We interacted with several staff members including the barman. All were cheerful and eager to please. I couldn't decide between the Ruck and the Huntsman...mostly since I'd never tasted either the Guinness BBQ sauce or the Whiskey mustard. I was leaning towards that Irish cheddar though (and that pretzel bin) so I opted for the Huntsman with some of each sauce on the side. I recommend you try that so can make up your mind for next time! The tangy Whiskey mustard won out in my opinion. The thin sliced brisket was so moist and flavorful with just the right amount of fat. A delicious hearty sandwich. Richard had the Reuben served on a delicious marble rye. I rate both of these five star. There are plenty of traditional Irish options including (alas, Sunday only) a full Irish breakfast with the bangers and beans. One of these Sundays I'm going to get up extra early for church and then partake of this. And of course, they have all the Irish whiskeys, beers and scotch choices you could ever hope to find. In town this week and stopped by the Dublin Pub. First the environment of the Pub. I love the seating, great seats to catch all views of the televisions. They have inside and outside seating. Nobody is too close to each other. I'm not a drinker but I love the bar. From what I can tell. Plenty of enjoyment to choose from. We started off with Buffalo wings. Very good wings. I definitely recommend Next I ordered the Ribeye N Paste. EXCELLENT!!! I had a great taste. My wife ordered the Chicken Strips and Fries. My wife NEVER dips her strips in BBQ sauce. The sauce they use was fantastic!!! I cannot remember the name of the place. Finally the service. The young lady who helped us was excellent. She was friendly and very helpful. This restaurant is a Dayton staple. It's just pub food at its finest. Every time we visit my fiancé's family, this place is brought up as an option for dinner, so I've been quite a few times. Our last trip up to Dayton was during the week of St. Paddy's Day, so dining here just felt right. We were able to grab a table for six pretty quickly on a Friday evening. Our waitress said she'd worked 24 hours straight earlier in the week for our favorite Irish holiday. She must have been exhausted, because she accidentally spilled a drink all over one of the members in our group. Of course this wasn't her fault and could happen to anyone. We all laughed extensively about it throughout the night ... but I do feel bad he had to sit in Coca-Cola for the entire meal. Apparently it had been a while since we'd visited ... because they no longer offer Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. We were looking forward to that, but we settled for Pretzels with Beer Cheese instead - which ended up being a great way to start our meal. I ordered a bowl of the Potato Soup and the Classic Rueben as my entree. The soup was warm, creamy, and cheesy ... literally if I described my perfect bowl of Potato Soup, this would not be far off. It's topped with bacon and extra cheese, and they serve it with crackers, which I balked at until tasting them altogether for the first time. The soup is so ooey-gooey, it needs a little crunch to really make it sing. The Reuben was fantastic as well - but I definitely recommend sharing if you're not absolutely starving. Nearly everyone in my party had leftovers, because the sandwiches are so big. I've also tried their Club Sandwich and the "Ruck," and I don't think there's a bad option.
