This restaurant is a Dayton staple. It's just pub food at its finest. Every time we visit my fiancé's family, this place is brought up as an option for dinner, so I've been quite a few times. Our last trip up to Dayton was during the week of St. Paddy's Day, so dining here just felt right. We were able to grab a table for six pretty quickly on a Friday evening. Our waitress said she'd worked 24 hours straight earlier in the week for our favorite Irish holiday. She must have been exhausted, because she accidentally spilled a drink all over one of the members in our group. Of course this wasn't her fault and could happen to anyone. We all laughed extensively about it throughout the night ... but I do feel bad he had to sit in Coca-Cola for the entire meal. Apparently it had been a while since we'd visited ... because they no longer offer Artichoke Dip as an appetizer. We were looking forward to that, but we settled for Pretzels with Beer Cheese instead - which ended up being a great way to start our meal. I ordered a bowl of the Potato Soup and the Classic Rueben as my entree. The soup was warm, creamy, and cheesy ... literally if I described my perfect bowl of Potato Soup, this would not be far off. It's topped with bacon and extra cheese, and they serve it with crackers, which I balked at until tasting them altogether for the first time. The soup is so ooey-gooey, it needs a little crunch to really make it sing. The Reuben was fantastic as well - but I definitely recommend sharing if you're not absolutely starving. Nearly everyone in my party had leftovers, because the sandwiches are so big. I've also tried their Club Sandwich and the "Ruck," and I don't think there's a bad option. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Dayton! read more

Amanda was a great server. She was friendly, attentive, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful while I placed my order. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner. There were several choices that I was torn between. The Corned Beef and cabbage sounded good, as did the Ruben. There were actually 2 Rubens, one of which was the Five Point Ruben with salted vinegar fries on the sandwich . I opted for the regular Ruben with the salted vinagar fries as a side. I had never experienced them before. I have on many occasions put vinegar on fries before so I knew I'd like them. They came out warm at best. I asked my server if they were supposed to be hot and she said yes. I told her mine were only warm. She said she'd fix that. Shortly the cook came out with 3 orders and explained that they cool them down when the vinegar is added, which only makes sense. These fries were interesting in that they more closely resembled thick sliced potato chips in my opinion. I liked that the skin was intact. The Ruben Sandwich was superior to those I get in San Diego. Anyone that has read my reviews will know that I am not a fan of sloppily assembled sandwiches. I could immediately tell that the cook that prepared our sandwiches cared about the product he sent out. I really enjoyed my well made Ruben. To the best of my memory it was the best store bought Ruben I've ever had. The ambiance was very typical of that of an Irish Pub. Disclaimer: I've never been to a Pub in Ireland. I have been to a handful of them in the United States, I base my previous statement solely on the fact that I know what good food, service, and ambiance is to me. Since I was assigned the duty as designated driver I felt it was probably best that I did not sample the beer. My sister said it was good I can't recall which she had. My sister had been here once before and it brought back pleasant memories I can definitely recommend this spot for those who enjoy Irish Pubs or even to someone who would like to try a new experience. Hard to find quality authentic Irish Guinness in the US but this Pub answers the call with the best I've had in America! The food isn't exactly British, there are a few token British items on the menus, but the majority is American style food. However, the food itself is incredible and the feel of the pub with its decor and design certainly makes you feel like you are back across the pond! I absolutely love the Dublin Pub! My partner and I had dinner here last night and it was fantastic! Everything about our dinner was perfect. Dublin is a cool Irish Pub with an atmosphere that makes you feel as though you're literally in Ireland. Dark wood on the walls, beautiful wood floors and just an overall great feeling spot. We both started with Smithwicks Irish beer. I was so excited to see this on the menu as it's one of my faves for sure! Our server Chris sat us right away and made us feel as though we were the only patrons in the restaurant. Very attentive and made a great suggestion. I wasn't really thinking of Rib-eye in an Irish pub but I went ahead and ordered on his suggestion. Wow! So well seasoned and perfectly cooked. (I order rare and it was literally cooked to perfection!) so so good!! The Poutine was equally as great! Tons of cheese and steak on differently sliced fries but they are crazy good. Overall, I would absolutely recommend the Dublin Pub for breakfast, brunch and dinner. The food is fantastic, the service is amazing and it's just an overall great spot in Dayton. Maybe it's my own fault but this place might have had the saltiest food I've ever had in my life, yes a club sandwich with bacon is probably going to be pretty salty but it was overwhelmingly salty! The service was extremely fast, they were very friendly, and the servings were decently sized for decent prices. It was just so salty... Also this place did what I consider to be a cardinal sin which is when I substituted fries for one of the other sides they still charged me for the fries and didn't bring them, without any explanation prior to that happening. I think I can understand a certain places won't do side substitutions but that should be stated rather than I have to guess until the check comes. read more

Loved everything about this place. The building is unique, the architecture looks like you would imagine for a pub in Ireland. The outdoor seating area is large. The menu was interesting. We were visiting Dayton on a Saturday afternoon for a musical. We had lunch here and cocktails. We sat outside because the weather was beautiful. The waitress was really attentive. I wanted some specialty drinks for everyone so I went inside to speak to the bartender. He was really friendly and funny and gave me some awesome ideas for us to try some different things. Talisker whiskey is a Scottish whiskey that you can only find a handful of places in Indiana, but they had it at the Dublin Pub. We were all happy with our food, the environment and the drinks. A little disappointed that we weren't able to choose our own table like we usually do. Ordered the brussels sprouts that said they were fried but came out boiled. Proper Irish pub (drinks, food, decor). Friendly staff and was very helpful to vacationers. The Guinness Beer Cheese was like full and thick of cheese flavor; the pretzels were hot and soft. Eat them quickly as the cheese hardens when cooled. We should have asked for more pretzels as we had more cheese leftover (unsure if that's an option). We had the white wine reduction on the side; it is pretty flavorful but probably needed a bit more reducing. The potato soup tasted like the best kind of potato soup, the one that tastes like a sour cream baked potato that was thick but soupy at the same time. It was very filling. The Ruck was an oh so goodness wonderful MESS! Ask for some extra napkins. I don't know how to eat it cleanly, but it was good. Thank you for the wonderful experience! Stopped in during brunch time and I got an order of pretzels to help cure my hangover. The pretzels themselves were very tasty and I appreciate the server recommending the honey mustard in addition to the beer cheese because it elevated the experience. My only qualm is that I do wish the cheese would have been a bit hotter since it was kind of lukewarm. This was my first experience with the Dublin pub and I was disappointed to say the least. I went on a Sunday night and there was only about 6 other people in the restaurant. My friend and I ordered drinks, only for them to be forgotten by our waitress. Then we ordered food and my entire meal was forgotten! My friend got her food and I was sitting there waiting. It took the waitress too long to even come in and check on us (she was in the back watching TV). Then when she came out decided to argue saying that I never ordered my food. By the time my food came out, my friend had finished eating and I had to take mine home. read more

I've been here multiple times and it's a pretty good place in the oregon district to sit down and have drinks. The food tends to have an "irish" theme because that is this style of pub. They have a normal pub menu with the typical bar food (cheese fries, burgers, chili, chicken tenders). There are also larger dinner meals like stews, but I have never tried them, and I don't think most people are getting those larger meals. The typical bar food tastes good, and is what you expect at a bar. It's not a ripoff but it's not super special overpriced fancy food either. There's a bar inside but this is mainly for sitting down at a table. Sometimes they have special beers. Service is good and typical. All in all this is a normal pub which seems to be doing all right and has everything you would expect, but it's not super exceptional. read more

Sunday brunch this morning and it rocked. They were a little slow getting warmed up when I arrived just after opening at 10am, but by 10:30 everything was set up, staffed and the chafing dishes were all filled. Omelet bar, carving station (ham and roast turkey today), scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, mac & cheese, Thai meatballs, sweet and sour chicken, a bunch more that I can't remember. Believe me, there was plenty of food and lots of options. Of course, also a Bloody Mary bar. All the fixings you can imagine and with the brunch buffet, only $4 for a glass of Bloody Mary mix and vodka as the base. Good service, a great meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch at the Dublin Pub. Hubby and I went to The Dublin Pub for the first time in a long time. We decided to head over though after a trip to the art museum. It was only 3pm on a weekday soo it was pretty quiet. We were immediately greeted and seated. We decided to order a couple apps to start since the Blarney Stones and Poutine Chips. The Blarney Stones were really good but a bit spicy. The poutine was good too but would have been better over fries instead of chips. For dinner hubby ordered the Chicken Sage Pie and I orde4ed The Ruck sandwich. First time being back to the Dublin Pub in a few years. Today, New Year's Eve, after working 5am-7pm and having a very rough day, my boyfriend wanted to take me out to get a nice dinner before watching the ball drop. We made a reservation to make sure we had a table knowing it was going to be super crowded. We've worked in food service, we know how nights like these can go. We were seated next to a nice couple and sat there chatting with them for about 10mins. Ended up asking one of the waitresses passing by about getting a menu and who our server was. She had an immediate attitude and snipped "me, just give me a minute". Tried our best to be nice knowing it was probably a stressful night. After several passings, she almost seemed to purposely walk past our table, not bringing simple things to us that we ordered (drinks, condiments, etc). By the time we got around to paying, she charged us for a sauce that I asked for since she took the original one that came with our appetizer. So if you go, make sure you avoid have Jaimee as your server. Food was quite bland and mine ended up cold waiting for the sauce I asked for. They also charge customers for entertainment which you can apparently opt out of, but when you pay using the QR on the receipt, they don't allow you to take it off. We definitely weren't asking the server since it probably would've had taken another 20mins for her to take it off. We had a better time people watching than listening to the band anyway. read more

This place has gone downhill. Haven't been here for a few years and it was reliable place for good food. The service was fine. My wife's soup was not filled all the way so she asked for them to top it up. They didn't give her a problem. They brought it back out and the bowl was burnt. She asked for it to be redone and they did and apologized about it. She said the soup tasted like it was out of a can. The kids Mac and cheese was gritty. It also had a lot of butter and tasted like they used beer cheese which the kids weren't a fan. My fish was rubbery and bland. Otherwise ok... although I've had better fried fish at Long John Silvers. My sons ham and cheese was perfect. He had the best food of all of us. The fries were also great. Overall, ... service was good. Food was not what we remembered. Maybe it was an off day. It was Sunday brunch so they may not have been ready for regular meal service. read more

Huge patio and large seating inside. Lots of dark wood and snugs to make you feel like you're really I'm a dark pub in Ireland. Service was great. Our server kept our drinking filled and coming which was great as we were enjoying happy hour with a group of 6. Appetizer were great. The fried pickles were more pickle chips instead of spears and I liked them much better! Dipping sauce was unique and tasty. Pretzels came fried (not just boiled like a regular soft pretzel).
