Food's good, buffet's a "bit" much @ $17.99/person, but you can order off their limited brunch menu if you're not that hungry, and you CAN'T beat the atmosphere here!! If you're coming for brunch, come EARLY (we found good seats for four AND great parking at about 10:45-11am, but it filled up FAST, and be sure to come HUNGRY!!! The buffet has an AMPLE selection, with plenty to choose from for just about all tastes/appetites. Skip the dried out scrambled eggs and go for the omelet station, with plenty of fresh filling choices. There's make your own waffles, and all the usual breakfast "staples," along with fresh fruit and salad greens, Irish stew, rice, mac and cheese, and a carving station with roast beef and turkey. You CAN'T leave here hungry!! Mr. M&P had already eaten breakfast, but he enjoyed a great "lunch-sized" fish and chips order, which looked good as well... The Dublin Pub is an obviously Irish bar. It has the typical Irish drinks and food. The food isn't anything exciting, at least in my opinion. Irish bars always are good for drinks. There's plenty to drink here. I had the Big Jameson and Ginger Ale. It's about $7 for a pint. The food menu is usual Irish stuff like corned beef, and Irish stew. It's pretty meat centric like most Irish bars. They have a Sunday brunch buffet for about $18, which is popular. It's usually when it's the busiest. The atmosphere gets rowdy whenever there's a "futbol" match on TV. If you're into European leagues, this is a good place for watching games. The inside itself is pretty nice, lots of wood. It may be the only Irish bar in Dayton as far as I know. It might be the most popular bar in the city. This is especially true on weekends. read more

As for main courses, they really talk up the "Ruck" which is basically a glorified Arbie's sandwich. Two business associates and I ate lunch today at the Dublin Pub. But this isn't my first rodeo at DP, I've been there many times as long as about 25 years ago. It's always good. The serving staff were friendly and even spontaneously broke into various songs. Very pleasant. I had the Pub burger. Being a huge burger fan, I asked that it be prepared medium and have a fried egg on it. It came well done with the egg on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato and red onion. In spite of being over cooked, it was a yummy burger. I also had the Cole slaw and I'd give high scores to this. It had a very light dressing and nice mix of veggies. One of my business associates had the Angry Irishman and said it was 'excellent'! On the burger was onion straws, sautéed jalapeños, ghost pepper cheese, hells bells hot sauce, creole mayo, and he had the chips with it. Even with all the hot products, he said it had just the right amount of heat. The other business associate had the corn beef & cabbage. He said the corn beef was very lean and it came with Irish red rooster potatoes that looked like home fries - chopped up spuds to about 1/2 inch. Spending the weekend in Dayton for a wedding, my Mom and I were looking for a good spot to grab brunch before heading to the ceremony. Someone recommended the brunch at The Dublin Pub so we made our way over. Unfortunately, brunch is only served on Sundays - a day earlier and out of luck. It was tasty - creamy broth with big pieces of potato, topped with cheese and bacon pieces. Very hearty and stereotypical Irish pub. For our meals, I ordered the infamous Ruck sandwich and my Mom ordered the Irish Cheesesteak. The Ruck was delicious - thinly sliced brisket, covered in melted cheddar cheese, sautéed onions and Guinness BBQ sauce on a pretzel roll. It was like Ireland meets Southern BBQ all in one sandwich. My Mom enjoyed the Irish Cheesesteak and said it had good flavor too. We washed our lunches down with Bloody Mary's - not too spicy and the perfect pre-wedding pick-me-up. My wife had wanted to stop in here for a while but frankly we hadn't been in the area to do it. Finally got here yesterday on our way back from the north side of town. We made it in before the Saturday evening crowd and enjoyed a quiet time with a couple of pints and a nice dinner. There is more to explore on the menu so we will be back. It's a pretty cool building with its own parking lot, the service was good, and the food was plentiful. Started with the baked potato soup for me, and then we were on to the Beef Boxty and the Prime Shot. All was very good, the meats were especially tender, but we both commented that they needed some more spices, perhaps something as simple as more pepper. In the past even after the buffet was discontinued, The food was something we would brag to everyone about the quality of the brunch. Came here for the music and dinner in the past many times. Today's breakfast is most disappointing thing I've ever had here. The bloody Molly's has went from something it was almost a meal in itself to a lemon wedge a lime wedge and a one olive. The candy bacon which are used to be thick and just perfect has become What looks like thin pre-cooked bacon with some syrup drizzled on top and put in a microwave. Dub pub has always been a favorite since we use to live in the Oregon. The food is all delicious, the Reuben balls are my favorite. Best pint of Guinness in dayton and plenty of Irish whiskeys to choose from. I'm a sucker for house specialties at restaurants. If it's highlighted as a signature dish, I typically got it. It's a 50/50 that I'll be disappointed. In this instance, I was not disappointed with the Chicken O'brien. It was a smothered and covered chicken breast over corn and very few peppers. The corn and peppers were smothered in butter... But was really good if you're not thinking of clogged arteries. The fish and chips were also tasty. The fish was very square shaped. Fine food, lousy and rude service. Our server Colleen made a member of my group with reading disability uncomfortable when he asked for a price and she responded by rudely flipping and slamming the menu around on the table instead of telling him the price. My first choice of beverage, a tea, was not to my liking, but I had consumed maybe half a glass, since I had no other choice in the meantime. It tasted like the machine was dirty. Every other restaurant I've been to would substitute it for something else, but Colleen apparently "sees the glass half empty" and charged me for both the dirty tea, and the soft drink I switched over to. Honestly the most disappointed I've been with a server in years. She acted she worked for a place like Dick's Last Resort, where the servers are intentionally bad. We were so ready to be done with the evening that I got a box for my food and forgot it on my rush to help my uncomfortable company out of there. If you are going to be that negative and insensitive to others, you should not be in the service industry. My disabled friend was embarrassed by your bafflingly aggressive behavior. Looks like they have a couple of snugs on one side and a small seating area on the other with a nice stone fireplace. I'll bet that is nice during with winter. The main dining area is pretty open, so it's not as intimate as some Irish pubs I've been to. The Dublin Pub has been a fixture on the Dayton scene for a little over 15 years according to Louis the bartender. Try their great fish and chips, with copious amounts of tartar sauce, some Coleslaw ( meh ) and a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. Everything was great, it's definitely a "go back to" place for me. McDonalds are the perfect size, nice and crispy. However, what these guys do to a potato is pretty good. Although the fries are big like steak fries, they are cut thin and crispy as can be. Mound on top of them cheese, bacon, and some mystical white wine sauce and you got a dish that is outstanding. The cheese is real, as is the bacon.
