This place deserves 5 stars FOR SURE! The burgers are phenomenal & the fresh cut fries are amazing! The hand sliced fried portabella mushrooms are delectable!! They are a 10/10!! They definitely won two life long customers tonight. Slyders is no longer our #1 choice. Kelly gave us great service and answered all of our annoying questions about the place with bubbly enthusiasm. I had my first experience at Carmichael's on Friday, July 23, 2021 at around 5:45 P.M. It will also likely be my last. I cannot recommend this establishment. First, there is no men's restroom. Their are however two restrooms marked women. Staff directed me to use the restroom behind the bar. Its a small room with a toilet and no sink and no trash can and isn't even marked as a restroom. But the real problem came when we ordered. We had a group of eight. We were the first to order food this evening. There were no other food orders in the kitchen at the time we ordered. Despite this, by 7:15 P.M., well over an hour after we ordered, three of our group of 8 had still not received any food. We had picked this place because it looked to have quick food and wasn't crowded, and we thought getting there at 5:45 would give us plenty of time to eat to make our 8:00 P.M. show at Wiley's Comedy Club (which I do recommend). However, when I finally approached the server and asked why, despite our orders being the first in, we still had 3 people who had not received food, she told me that because they have a small kitchen they rotate other table's orders in when they have a large table. So people who came in after we did were getting their orders before us because they had come in a smaller group. Our larger table spending more money didn't appear to matter to them, and it definitely was not first come first served. One top of that one employee at the bar turned around and snapped at me that it wasn't their fault that other orders were also coming in from the bar. So apparently individuals sitting at the bar take priority over those sitting at tables. Finally, at 7:25 when some in our group were still waiting for food I asked for our check because we had to leave to make our show. Despite this situation I had to go up and complain twice more to get the check. I got more excuses about it being busy and it not being their fault. By the time we got the check it was very clear that the staff at this bar cares more about their inconveniences than the customer's. It is also clear that the owner of this facility is not giving his/her employees the tools and training they need to do their jobs well. I strongly recommend avoiding Carmichael's Pub for food because the service is horrible. It was so slow that I wouldn't go back even if the food turned out to be 5-Star. Ultimately, I can't comment on the food quality because I didn't have time to eat. I can say that when the waitress set my meal down on the table as I was trying to get the check to leave and make our show, I noticed that half of it was wrong. read more

This is the best bar in Dayton! This was my second home when I still lived in Ohio. I miss everything about this bar and it's staff and atmosphere. The food is amazing! Chris Carmichael (owner) came up with all menu items himself and everything is made in house in the kitchen. The Carmela Melt was always my favorite go to.. literally drooling thinking about it. This Place has the best bang for your buck in the area. It is hard to find a place to eat a good meal and have a few drinks for under 20 dollars, but you will not be disappointed if you come here! The food does take a little time to come out of the kitchen but it tastes delicious. You can tell the cooks really put a lot of care into their food. Love the Southwest burger. However; before I get a big craving for one I have to call & ask if they have someone working the kitchen. I've called 3 different days/times to order one & each time they said they didn't have a cook for the day, or the cook didn't show up. So that is frustrating. Well, where to start? Their online presence isn't much so our only way of knowing if it's good or not is by coming in. The atmosphere is dirty, cluttered, and mismatched in every way. We walked in and it took 10 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted a menu. It took 10 more minutes for someone to take our order. After 30 minutes, we just asked for our food to go. The service is terribly slow and no one communicates well. While we were here, we watched a family of 5 go up to the manager and tell them they've been waiting for an hour for their food. The management got pissed and they left without getting their food. I felt sorry for them. By the time we got our food, we were convinced it would be bad. The clientele is scary. I wouldn't come alone. I'm not sure it's worth it. All the to be said, the wings were overly breaded. The sweet hot sauce was good, but garlic parmesan was gross. It was oily and separated. I hated it. The fries were undercooked, greasy, and not even salted. They were soggy and not crispy. I was super disappointed. We won't be going back. read more

This place is great. The bartender/waitress who served us today was fantastic. Very friendly but not so friendly she was annoying. I had the Juicy Lucy (with added egg) and it was very good. Good burger flavor. Fries are hand-cut. I wish they could figure out a way to make the fries crispy, but even soft they were really good. $25 for two lunches. Not bad. They enforce the mask rule (which I love), but are not insane about it. Just real friendly, like you would hope. Note: Don't go here if you are expecting fine dining. Terrible experience today ordering food from Carmichael's through Uber Eats. It was over 30 minutes late and then when it got here, it was a completely wrong order. I ended up paying $44 for two cheeseburgers with fries and I did not even order cheeseburgers. Now I can't get ahold of anyone at Uber and have to wait for them to email me back, meanwhile my $44 is sitting in limbo. I called Carmichaels and the woman said she'd have her boss call me back right away. I'm still waiting. I'm never using Uber Eats or ordering from Carmichaels again. There are much better restaurants around that actually care about their customers. read more

I feel it hard to review this as we could not even get service. We entered with who I assume is the owner during off hours (appx 1:30pm) for a late lunch. He carried in groceries and even told us we could seat our selves. I was really excited to try their "poppers". Alas, 10 mins or more went by with all sorts of staff passing us (and only 3 other patrons in the entire place all of which were all at the bar). We were literally the only table. I would not recommend this bar my first time while I was there the barmaid was very rude to all the customers so everybody complained about the service it took a half hour to get one beer I watched a guy steal pool balls off the pool table but I did stop him as the night went on there was a couple fights in the bar so if you're looking to have a good time and not have a fight or have your things stolen from you I would suggest going somewhere else just my opinion read more

Spring is coming, and the snowflakes will melt (aka the first 2 reviewers) . We live a mile down the road and were looking for a dive-bar experience, and we were not disappointed. That is a HUGE compliment. For us, that means good bar eats, cheap drinks, and friendly service. We got all three. Sunday had $1 PBR bottles, a bartender who did table service as well, an elaborate burger, fries, wings and surprises menu (Polynesian Poppers are little egg rolls with mango habenero dipping sauce--yummy! ) It is a neighborhood bar. We were not neighbors, but were welcomed warmly. I almost want to give them a 1-star to keep douchey people like the first 2 reviewers from messing up the joint. We will be back :-) read more

Great little neighborhood bar and pub. The food is excellent and not what you would expect from a little hole in the wall. The owner has been there several times when we have eaten there, and has informed us that everything is made from scratch and made to order. We've had a variety of items from the menu and the burgers are very good and very creative. The poppers are excellent, especially The ones with the homemade pineapple habanero salsa. We went in the other night and he had added fried cauliflower to the menu. Be assured, this did not come pre-breaded from a bag. They cut up the cauliflower and bread it by hand. I am ashamed to say that after visiting this establishment, I was ignored and did not get waited on, and ended up leaving. I left a review last week on their Facebook page explaining what happened and expressing my general dismay. Out of nowhere the girl who did not wait on me, Ashley Davidson (which I only know because of the following), starts messaging me on Facebook and harassing me because I left a bad review. I then contact the owner and report her behavior to him, Mr. Chris Carmichael, and he then starts calling me names and acting VERY inappropriately. Apparently Ms. Davidson claimed I was trying to "hit on her" and that she "shot me down". Funny though, her messages to me said nothing of the sort. I am shocked and completely taken aback by this behavior, especially as a business owner myself. I will never go here again, and I will make sure everyone I know hears about this. I will have screen shots of their derogatory messages to me posted on my own page. read more
