This is my new favorite Chinese Restaurant in the Denver area, I had it two days ago and was very close to having it again yesterday, but held off until today to have it a second time. It's that good. Let's start with criticism... my second visit I ordered BBQ pork again but this time it was cold when I picked it up (Despite being told to wait 25 minutes to pickup!) Also, I wish they had a full menu online, I've heard rumors there's items that aren't on their printed menu and I'm eager to try them, but without knowing what's on the off-menu-menu, I have no clue. Ok, and their ginger sauce for the steamed chicken isn't perfect. Now, onto the praise... this place has fair prices, delicious food, and good portions. Saliva Chicken has an off-putting name, but it's basically delicious hot pot flavored chicken. Orders of 3 cheese wontons? Yes, please. Honey Mayo Shrimp? Ooh yeah. Shrimp dumpling noodle soup with roast duck? Drooling. And the BBQ pork (when it's fresh!), is incredibly flavorful. Then there's the crispy roast pork, which strangely, actually got better after being in the fridge half a day. I love the way they do the sesame chicken and my man loves the bbq pork. The coconut fried rice was scrumptious and the Singapore noodles were on point. Finally a delicious chinese restaurant in Thornton/Westminster. This is the original owner from Hong Kong BBQ ( used to be on federal& mississippi) I'm so glad they are here now. I don't have to go so far to get my fav food. Coming from the bay area, I was full of glee when I saw there was peking duck and bbq pork in the bbq window. Coming inside, it's a un-assuming 3 item combo place, with typical orange chicken, kung pao, etc., all of which match what I am used to from similar places back in the bay. Nothing to write home about... HOWEVER... please order from the menu or ask if you don't see something. Being a BBQ Pork fan and sady not finding great Chow Fun places.. they make me a custom spicy bbq pork chow fun that is amazing. This place just opened about a week ago. Decor is "modest", shall we say. But the part of the decor I liked best was the 6 whole roast ducks hanging in a display. :-) "Hong Kong" BBQ, plus all the usual dishes. Lunch specials, too, with a free donut. :-) (No hole.) What I had - some kind of spicy chicken, I couldn't figure out what she called it - on the steam table, lunch special. Excellent, with a good level of spiciness. My wife had Kung Pao Chicken, which was somewhat disappointing for lack of distinct flavor and spice. The donuts were great. :-) Prices are reasonable. The lunch special I had was $6.95 - I think. I don't really recall exactly. But total bill for two with green tea was $20.61. The owner told us they were serving everything in to-go containers since their dishwasher didn't work yet. Inspections and, of course, covid delayed the opening, which signs promised for over a month. It's just off 120th in the strip center West of Huron near Tokyo Joe's and Hooter's. As other people have stated, it's the old owners of Hong Kong BBQ, who had sold that business a few years ago. They have a more dishes not listed on the menu, like 乾炒牛河 (beef chow fun), so be sure to ask. The boss-lady said they left items off the menu because they don't want to scare off "American" clientele. But I think that they should differentiate themselves by going authentic. Today, we went to this restaurant that just opened, down the street from us and what happened when we walked in? Our favorite family remembered us and greeted us happily!!! What a really surprisingly great Chinese restaurant in the north metro. We ordered orange chicken, roast duck, charsiu chaofun and all were really legit. The fried pork dumplings were, meh. But everything else was very good. The roast duck had just the right amount of five spice and other seasoning, charsiu was lean and flavorful and i kid you not, the orange chicken had actual orange peel in it. Or it was synthetic and i'm too optimistic. i'm going to go with the former. It's worth mentioning that the service on the phone and in person was very friendly. I came from Hong Kong. I have pretty much given up on finding authentic Hong Kong dishes in Colorado until I went to Uncle Henry. The place is nothing fancy, just good basic BBQ, similar to what I could get in HK. I especially like their roast pork, which has this thick, crunchy, savory skin that makes me salivate just thinking about it. I also tried their wonton noodle soup and salt and pepper tofu and thought they were great too. I would definitely go back again to try other dishes. First time at the restaurant today, I ordered King Pao shrimp, fried rice and cheese wontons. The menu said the price was $10.50 for the shrimp and fried rice and $2.50 for the wontons. I was charged $18.50 for the shrimp and rice and $3.00 for the wontons. I was not happy with that but if the food is good, it could be worth it. (If) The wontons were good, the fried rice was good, but the kung pao shrimp was closer to a shrimp stew, very little flavor and watery. Needless to say I won't be returning. read more

Yummy yummy food :0 Came on a Friday night around 7 PM. There is casual seating, enough for 6 parties and more smaller parties. Service was order at the counter and super fast! Waited less than 10 minutes for hot, delicious food to come out and even saw them take down the duck to slice for one of the plates. I got the shrimp wonton soup with noodles which was about ~$9. It also came with vegetables that went really well in the broth. The broth was light, warm, and homey, the shrimps were packed, and there was a healthy helping of noodles. I wouldn't get it with the noodles again though because the soup was best on its own and the noodles didn't absorb a lot of the broth flavor. Maybe some pepper could help too? I also tried the 2 item plate with duck and pork which was ~$12. t came with the vegetables as well which was good. The duck was a little too crispy on the outside but the inside was soooooo moist and flavorful. I didn't try the pork. There was a genius helping of rice. It also came with two dipping sauces, one that seemed to be a duck fat / hoisin? Both were really good with nice aromatics. I will def be back to try the mapo tofu, dumplings, and get the rice plate again. I think they also have hot plate specials during the day but I came at night and I think they packed those away. Great Chinese BBQ place. We have been here several times during different hrs. Their BBQ dishes and lunch box options are awesome. Their Sichuan style dish however, not the best I have had. I used to lived in other places. So it wouldn't seemed fair that I compare them with restaurants in other states. For Broomfield, we are just happy we have an authentic Chinese restaurant. My daughter is pretty picky around Chinese food and how it is made. I am very glad they are willing to accommodate. They intentionally cut the vegetables in smaller pieces, without me asking, when they learnt the dish was for my daughter. Ordered 3 meals and sides for pickup: sesame chicken, combination lo mein, and the 2 item rice plate along with cheese wonton and egg rolls. First of all, the portions are HUGE! Definitely enough for leftovers. The wontons were delicious and stuffed with a decent amount of filling. The egg rolls were alright but not something I'd order again. I had the BBQ pork and roast pork rice plate. The pork was tender and flavorful. Everyone was happy with their meals. The only comment was about the sesame chicken and how it could have been spicier. For those who don't know these are the original owners of HK BBQ on south Federal. They used to make racks full of whole roasted ducks and pigs for many of the other Chinese restaurants in town. Looks like they are doing the same in their new location. We had absolutely amazing roast duck, pork, and ribs. Stunning to find a place like this in a suburban strip mall.
