F3. Fry BBQ Pork Rice Noodle (Chow Fun)
    Nancy T.

My go-to restaurant in Colorado. Please experience this place if you're too tied to trendy restaurants. This hole in the wall deserves every recognition for not only their food, but the amazing service that these kind folks always delivers. The Fry BBQ Pork Rice Noodle (chow fun) is dangerously good! They not only have the perfect balance of umami flavors from the sauce, but mixed with the bbq flavor is incredible. Most places in Denver, the chow fun is either bland or tastes like soy sauce... Here, the sauce is paired well with the crunch from the bean sprouts, onions, and green onions. And lastly, but most importantly, THE FRESH NOODLES are addicting. Such an amazing texture you don't get at most places. I can't recommend this dish enough. Honey mayo shrimp is not too sweet and coated nicely... somehow they manage to keep the crunchiness even as leftovers. Shrimp and pork wontons: I personally prefer just the shrimp wontons here as I didn't taste much shrimp, but can't be mad with that delicate wrapper they use and the amazing light broth that packs so much flavor.

A bustling fast casual family owned Cantonese BBQ joint. The food came out in about 5 minutes. It's one of the best BBQ places we've been to in Denver. Noodles had a great texture. Soup was hot and had depth. Would love it it they'd open a south location. Highly recommend!

Got takeout here. Very friendly and prompt service. They give you a lot of food for a low price, enough for 2-3 meals, what a great value! And much better quality food than other similar places I've tried. I especially recommend the BBQ pork. Such a great deal!

How hungry were we for the food served here? Within 30, we finished 95% of the following food items we ordered including salt & pepper capelin (fried fish), salt & pepper shrimp, 2 servings of beef chow fun, 1/2 lb each of roasted bbq pork and roasted pork belly, saliva chicken, water spinach with garlic, seafood pan noodles, and 1 whole roasted duck! Some of the photos presented here don't do justice, because as soon as the food came, we all just inhaled it! Highly recommend you stop by this place for authentic Chinese food that will explore your taste buds, and will leave your stomach full. A friend wrote the following about her frequent stops at Uncle Henry's for takeout, and I think it's appropriate to include here with this review. "Uncle Henry's is my go to Cantonese food closest to me. The quality of their seafood is chef's kiss... it's never fishy/muddy/sketchy tasting and supposedly they get it direct from a California supplier. Their salt and pepper shrimp or capelin small fish is that fresh, which is very difficult in Colorado. The bbq roast meat has exceptional quality and consistency. Despite having a smallish menu, their attention to detail and execution is excellent. It's hard to get such an amazing Asian restaurant (especially in NW Denver)... I'm talking about California/East coast level of Cantonese food. That's why all the Asians who live in the area come here. Another Canto person who lives in the Denver Metro area (and whose parents ran restaurants) regularly drives up her for their food. (Pro tip: they can get pretty busy on the weekend from 5-7pm so be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes for your food. They are just a small family business so don't have the band width. They also try their very best not the compromise the quality of their food when it gets busy.)"

We usually grab a whole roast duck on our way back from Denver. Today we had time for a lunch plate. I split a 3 meat lunch plate w my partner and it was the perfect amount of food. We got the roast pork, bbq pork, and of course the roast duck. The roast pork and bbq pork were fire! So delicious! The staff are super friendly and happy to answer your questions. Their roast duck is the best priced in the area as well as being super tasty.

Service and staff are great very welcoming they make sure you have what you need if you stay and eat check out after you eat if you eat in. Ambiance welcoming and clean you can choose to sit at tables or the bar stools in front of window on hot days I would choose table, they do also have outdoor seating with umbrellas. The food the first time around was great I got some low main, the second time I don't know what happened I didn't care for it as much. I did like that it was big portions the first time around it feed 2 people for the to go box. But the second time I didn't even want to finish my food. We will try again maybe I just caught the cook on an off day. Redemption soon.

Tried Uncle Henry with some friends for lunch and we split a couple dishes. Everything was super tasty! We ordered crispy salt and pepper tofu, vegan, sesame chicken with broccoli, and shrimp dumpling soup. This place is homestyle Cantonese food. The interior is small and there's only a couple tables. This is a good place for a casual meal or to grab some takeout. They specialize in Chinese bbq. We didn't try any this time, but it looked delicious. They roast duck and pork in house. 10/10, I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Gem in Westminster - thankful for they are open for both lunch and dinner. Excited and interested to have a Hong Kong style restaurant in this pocket of town. I ordered the three meat combo with rice and greens. This family style cafe serves up a mean cha su as well as their roast duck. I'm excited to try other things on their menu. The offerings are fresh and flavorful and reminiscent of what you can enjoy in Asia. But their menu doesn't just stop at bbq, they have extensive offerings. Service is friendly and the space is clean.

Great Chinese bbq! I highly recommend the salt and pepper tofu (comes with rice) and the bbq pork. The portions are huge and shareable. Since the change with POM ownership, I'm thrilled to find this place up north! They are my go to for all things Chinese bbq! While I was there, there were tons of call in and pick up orders so that may be a more efficient way to get your order in.

I finally got the try Uncle Henry and it was delicious and this is worth the drive. It feels like a real Cantonese Hong Kong bbq restaurant with the duck displayed. Next time, I'll need to try the 3 meat combo plate. It looks so good. But we ordered the sesame chicken, chowfun, and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings were super flavorful. There's enough seasoning to it and you can taste it with each bite. The crunch is so satisfying. If you want a drink, I highly recommend the honey jasmine tea. That was our favorite. Staff is super friendly. There's lot of seating options available. Food comes out relatively quick. Overall, fantastic meal especially if you're craving Cantonese cuisine and you live up north.

Did the food live up to all the other positive reviews below me? Yes, I do believe that it does. I called in a takeout order on a Friday night and they estimated a half hour wait. The food was ready when we arrived. My favorite was the Singapore noodles; they were a flavor explosion. The wontons were delicious too with plenty of filling. All the food tasted fresh and flavorful. Prices are reasonable. It was a special experience to be able to order 1/2 duck. We'll be returning!

No frills, but fast, served fresh and hot, great portion size and reasonable prices. Know your order before going up to the counter.

We ordered the fried tofu (with peppers and onions), orange chicken, fried fish fillet, and veggie delight (mixed veggies). The fried fish fillet was definitely the standout. Perfectly crispy on the outside with a light, tangy layer of sauce that added flavor without making it soggy. Easily my favorite dish of the meal. The fried tofu was also really solid and flavorful with just the right amount of spice. The peppers and onions complemented it well without overpowering the tofu itself. The orange chicken was okay. I tend to compare orange chicken to Panda Express (probably unfair, but it's my benchmark), and this one didn't quite hit that same balance of crispiness and sauce. I think if it had a bit more meat within each piece, would be better. The mixed vegetables were decent but not something I'd order again. They felt a bit drenched in sauce and didn't have much depth in flavor. One of the highlights of the visit was meeting an elderly woman who helps out when it gets busy. She mentioned she was the former owner. She was incredibly kind, and we ended up having a really nice conversation in Mandarin. That personal touch made the experience even more memorable. Otherwise, really nice venue with lots of space and tables. Waiters always refilled my water, which is a good plus. Also gave me fresh rice when I took the leftovers to go. Overall, a solid meal with a couple standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the fried fish fillet and tofu. Will be back to try their other dishes.

Service was quick to take the order, refill water and clear out empty plates/steamer baskest. The dishes coming out of the kitchen was at a more erratic pace, but it's all about the food. Mapo tofu was good, with a light slick of chili oil. The flavors were spot on with little chunks of fermented salted broad beans. The heat was also moderate, but it did have a kick as you were eating it. That signature mala numbing spiciness started building, but not hot enough for my palate. Green beans were also nice and tender. Sometimes when they come out the fryer, the skin can be a little leathery, but wasn't present here. BBQ Buns were very soft and tender, loaded with BBQ pork. The shao mai had a nice bouncy texture and cooked well. Shrimp Lo Mein had the flavors of the Chinese American classic, it looks like the noodles were hand made too. Only miss was the shrimp dumplings. They were too close to each other and they stuck together. The wrapper was also overcooked, but somehow the shrimp was not. Nearly impossible to pickup with chopsticks, because the wrapped just fell apart, even with a delicate touch. Worth a stop and probably tastiest Chinese food in the neighborhood. It was getting crowded and there was a wait by the time we left. However it was Denver restaurant week, so not sure how it usually is during the week.

Lately it feels like a lot of restaurants are charging more while giving less, and it's getting harder to find places that actually care about the customer experience. Unfortunately, this was another one of those experiences. We ordered three side dishes and three drinks, and the bill came out to around $100. Two of the three sides were served cold, the dumplings at least came out hot, but they were pretty mediocre and nothing I'd order again and drinks were extremely over priced. The waitress was fine, no real issues there, but it did feel like the food may have been sitting in the kitchen too long before it hit the table even though the place was empty. At the end of the day, it's hard to justify paying that kind of money for cold, underwhelming food, then feeling awkward about the tip because the experience just wasn't good. I won't be back. If I had known this is what the experience was I would have definitely gone somewhere else. As an added bonus I felt like crap afterwords, I think it was because of poor quality ingredients. My aim in writing these reviews is to highlight the restaurants and businesses that truly take care of their customers, to give people a heads up about the ones that clearly do not prioritize quality or the customer experience, and to express myself in a world where it often feels like there is very little room to speak honestly about paying top dollar for mediocre experiences. Very disappointing.
