I tried this place looking for some good BBQ pork. Ordered that and the saliva chicken. The pork was amazing. I had never had anything like saliva chicken in Asian cuisine. It reminded me of some really aromatic packed jerk chicken except this chicken is served cold after it has been steamed in chili oil. Small pieces of bone will be encountered, but it is so good. Decided to try this restaurant for takeout. Very clean building with plenty of parking. They had indoor dining while I was there. Staff was nice, but took a while for them to take my order or acknowledge me. Plenty of seating to wait for your order. Ordered the Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce. Generous portion size along generous portion of white rice. The black bean sauce was tasty/savory, but not thick at all. Sauce was more like a soup. Very thin liquid. Soaked up the rice well, but shrimp not really coated in it. Came with very large, thick cut barely cooked veggies of red & green peppers, carrot slices and onions. A little too raw for my liking and pieces cut way bigger than I'm used to. The black bean sauce also had actual cooked black beans inside the watery sauce. I did like the cooked beans. Shrimp was fresh and firm. Don't think I would order again though. Husband had the Shrimp Lo Mein. Not much veggies on his dish and the noodles were very dry. Dry in the sense that the noodles weren't dressed in any type of sauce nor were noodles seasoned. Just dry unseasoned noodles. He said the shrimp was just ok. The portion size was good though. He said he definitely wouldn't order it again. Also ordered the Chinese sweet donuts. These were the best part of the meal. Tasted great and just as expected for Chinese donuts. Soft billowy balls of dough with a slightly sweet crust dusted with a bit of sugar. Not greasy at all. Would definitely order these again. All 3 dishes came out to about $30. Good location, clean restaurant. The food I had was just ok/meh. Wouldn't order either of these 2 dishes again. Not sure if will go back, but definitely recommend the sweet donuts! read more

I'm really excited we finally have a spot in north Denver for some good quick Chinese food and bbq. I really enjoyed the salt and pepper tofu and the beef chow fun when we dined in. My family often picks up roasted pork and duck and it never disappoints. The bbq pork is also good but it is on the fattier side. read more

I am torn about Uncle Henry, the good is really good. It is hard to get good steamed chicken and chinese smoke BBQ in the area. And those dishes are really really good. These are legit authentic items. However, the other dishes are far too sweet and this may be a style issue since the place is packed and customers are really happy. The Hot and Sour soup, is more like pepper and syrup soup. The fish with black bean sauce, the ingredients were solid and well cooked, but the sauce was very sweet. The tofu seafood pot was solid and not too sweet. Uncle Henry clearly has the cooking chops, but they may be catering to their clientele, both sets. Choose wisely based on your personal palate. Younger girl in front is a very hard worker. Always busy yet still professional imo. I would've lost it a long time ago but she still manages to answer the phone while prepping orders printing receipts and handling door dash orders about at the same time. Classic Chinese BBQ. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy. I got the noodles (san bao mian) with roast pork, roast duck, and char siu. The noodles weren't anything to write home about, but that's fine. The BBQ itself was fantastic though. The char siu was juicy and had a perfectly crisp exterior. The duck skin was just right, and the meat inside was juicy. The standout to me was the roast pork though. It was super juicy inside with a crunchy, crispy exterior. It was so good that I ended up getting an additional 2 pounds to go so I could enjoy it for the next few days. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. read more

My husband and I were having a rough morning. We were both angry and frustrated, but the lady running the counter at Uncle Henry's instantly brightened our day. We had been debating getting the orange chicken or the bbq pork, ended up going with the orange chicken because it was cheaper and came with rice. They brought us a little sample of the bbq pork, and my husband has been raving about it ever since. He grew up in Hong Kong and said it tasted just like the street food he got at home. We loved the orange chicken too- it tasted like real oranges rather than the syrupy candy, and was a little spicy. We wouldn't pay the extra for the fried rice again, it tasted very similar to white rice. They run a different menu on the weekend vs weekday lunches, with better deals during the week. I have now eaten at Uncle Henry BBQ twice and have been impressed both times. The first time I ordered the BBQ Pork with noodles and the food was very good/well prepared. The second visit was special for a different reason. I went there with a co-worker and we were looking the fresh pork and duck in the hot food holding area. The incredibly friendly lady behind the counter offered us a substantial sample of the BBQ and roasted pork. We happily accepted and enjoyed the samples very much! Aside from the great food (freshly prepared upon ordering), the customer service is exceptional. I think I have found my new local Chinese BBQ place. read more

It's that good. Let's start with criticism... my second visit I ordered BBQ pork again but this time it was cold when I picked it up (Despite being told to wait 25 minutes to pickup!) Also, I wish they had a full menu online, I've heard rumors there's items that aren't on their printed menu and I'm eager to try them, but without knowing what's on the off-menu-menu, I have no clue. Ok, and their ginger sauce for the steamed chicken isn't perfect. Now, onto the praise... this place has fair prices, delicious food, and good portions. Saliva Chicken has an off-putting name, but it's basically delicious hot pot flavored chicken. Orders of 3 cheese wontons? Yes, please. Honey Mayo Shrimp? Ooh yeah. Shrimp dumpling noodle soup with roast duck? Drooling. And the BBQ pork (when it's fresh!), is incredibly flavorful. Then there's the crispy roast pork, which strangely, actually got better after being in the fridge half a day. Singapore noodles: very strong curry flavors. Salt and pepper fish: really crunchy, otherwise good. Served with steamed rice. Generous portion and I may return to try other items.
