Had gotten dinner on Castro Street and was walking back from the restaurant when Ume Tea caught my eye. I ordered at the Kiosk and appreciated that the drinks on the menu were tagged with the options that are dairy-free and caffeine-free! The mango pomelo sago caught my eye and I ordered a large with 30% sweetness (ice level is fixed) and added boba. When I arrived there were two people doing a pick up and one person waiting for his drink to be ready. I was able to order at the kiosk after waiting a few minutes. After I ordered, about 15 people arrived! Cute space with a lot of pink and bunny decor. Four small round tables along one side with some limited seating. It looks like there was also outdoor seating. I was lucky that my drink came out quickly and my drink was delicious! read more

Small storefront with bright aesthetics! The classic oolong boba had mild flavor but my company complained about the lackluster tea flavor despite some more unique enhancement supplements such as tanghulu and rice. I would stop by at least once to sample more unique boba flavors but I don't believe it outshines competitors on the same block, such as Yifang. read more

First of all...(Pink is NOT my color), one gets the feeling that this is aimmed at (Children) not adults -(first impression), seccondly the tables are NOT wiped down often enough, the floor has foot prints on it from spilled drinks - floor not mop immediately after a spilled drink, I've decided to return to Mr. Sun Tea where the atomosphere is nicer & easy on the eyes with a relaxing atomspherem, ((one needs to know when to go to avoid the crowds)) and UME seems to always be CROWDED. Cute and trendy shop with excellent drinks. Ume Tea is one of the newest boba shops in downtown Mountain View. They stand out with their bunny mascot and pink decor (and lots of matching merchandise). They sport a large variety of drinks with standard fare and seasonal specialties ranging from light and refreshing to heavy and endulging. Their Mango Pomelo drink is their most popular, and it's easy to see why. Sweet, thick, and just a hint of tart makes this well balanced drink a sugary treat. I also recommend their Dubai Chocolate drink, with heavy blended chocolate and pistachios, creating a deep decadent milkshake. Due to Ume's popularity, wait times for your drinks can be long. If you have the time, they usually have free samples you can enjoy while waiting for your drink, otherwise you should place your order online ahead of time. Ume Tea is a strong competitor for top boba shop in downtown Mountain View. read more

These are the most affordable and trendy tea shops in the Bay Area. They keep on innovating and bringing new flavors, which keeps things new. It's very cleanly at the location. The good nice tried is the popcorn chicken and mini tenders. The mini tenders are better than the popcorn chicken. These days, it's all about the summer peach drinks. read more

Ume Tea is located on Castro Street in Mountain View and they're a solid choice for some refreshing boba tea. Surprisingly their Popcorn Chicken is actually pretty well put together as well. Not too much fried breading and with a little built-in spice. The place is pink, as in they take the color pink seriously. Service is what you would expect from a tea shop, nothing extraordinary but not awful either. Parking can be challenging in this downtown area but nothing that a little patience can't fix. read more

Really liked Mango Coco and Iced latte with boba. Simple, nothing extra and pretty delicious! Glad to find a good boba place near me.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with this Ume location. I've been ordering from here for almost a year, usually every other week, and I've always recommended it to my friends, family, and coworkers. Unfortunately, over the last few months, both the quality and the overall experience have gone downhill. There have been multiple orders where I've either been missing extra ingredients that I paid for or my food has been made spicy even though I specifically requested, in bold letters in the order comments, that it not be spicy. The last 2-3 times I've paid for extra ingredients, they've simply been left out. Since there's no way to contact the restaurant online, the only solution is to drive back to the store to fix the order, which isn't practical every time. Similarly, the last two times I've ordered the tofu or popcorn chicken, they've made it spicy despite my repeated requests not to. Today's experience was the final straw. I was in a rush and accidentally ordered the black sugar boba with mochi because the menu items look nearly identical when ordering online. When I arrived, I explained that I had made an honest mistake and politely asked if they could exchange it this one time. They refused and said they couldn't make the change. I accepted that it was my mistake and took the drink anyway. However, after I started drinking it, I realized it was almost entirely filled with mochi and had very little actual tea. I genuinely don't understand the appeal of a drink that's mostly mochi. What makes this especially disappointing is that I've easily spent over $500-600 at this location alone over the past several months, and I've brought in additional business by recommending it to my family, friends, and coworkers. Yet they weren't willing to remake a single drink for a loyal customer. On top of that, this location is consistently behind on online orders, the fried foods all taste the same--which makes me wonder if everything is being fried or seasoned together--and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant has noticeably declined. The interaction today was enough for me to decide that I won't be returning. It's unfortunate because I genuinely enjoyed this place, but there are other boba shops in downtown Mountain View that offer better quality, better service, and owners who seem to genuinely care about their customers' experience. read more

Ume Tea - you can't see it but the entire half of this cup is mochi, similarly to what Starbucks does with filling their cups with extra ice - Bubble Tea Near Me - Mountain View, California

Located in downtown Mountain View, nice spot with cute decor inside. Came on a Friday afternoon around 2 pm and it was pretty busy inside. But I was able to order on the kiosk right away. Wanted to try one of the holiday drinks and got the berry pistachio latte. There were many drinks in the queue so waited about 20 min for it to be ready. There was no sweetness adjustment so it was pretty sweet. It was a nice blend of strawberry, milk and a light pistachio cream. There was a whole strawberry inside as well. Was excited to try the Christmas jackpot event (on drinks until the 31st). Biggest prize is free UME for a year! Scanned the QR code and won $1 coupon :') read more

VERY inconsistent. Expect the long wait for your orders even when its not a busy day. I still order drinks/snacks sometimes but i know i will have to wait around 20-30mins and i know i have a spare time to kill But this time it takes the cake!. Order a drink, 2 snacks and a bento box. Ordered it at 4pm; drink was ready at 4:09pm BUT we got our foods at 4:56pm. A whole hour for our order; whatever. What really blew my mind is that; we waited a whole hour for the foods BUT when we get our foods its already COLD. All of them. Barely even warm. We asked 3 times for our order and each time we are told its not ready yet.... We ended up taking the food home and heat it up at home. Did not want to talk to the worker since theres like 5 other people waiting on their orders and they all look frustrated. If you want something from there either you should order it wayyyy ahead or you know you have time to spare. Sometimes the snack came out really good sometimes its mehhh; the drinks are ok. But for sure its NOT worth the 30min-1hour wait. Plenty of boba option in that area. But seems like a lot of people like this place so take my words with a grain of salt and you do you! :) read more

1. Order online here! wait times are long 2. Try the blossom latte milk tea 50% sweet ! Molly tea dupe !! Their house black milk tea 30% sweet is also good. Fried tofu is also good but don't get the spicy powder it ruins the flavor Ambiance is nice but not a lot of place to sit. This place has surpassed happy lemon for me and I loveee happy lemon ! and i lovee ume! read more

Mini fried octopus are fantastic. Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 3/5** I came on a Saturday afternoon and was just 1 of 2 customers waiting in the store, but it took about 20 minutes for me to get my order. **Price & portion, 4/5** The snack size mini fried octopus was $9.95, which felt just barely worth it, but after tax and tip, felt overpriced. **Taste of the food, 5/5** So good! The octopus are breaded in a crispy coating and perfectly seasoned -- I might like this more than popcorn chicken because of the crunch and chew. Super recommend adding spice for a bit of a kick. read more

Stopped on through here last month to quench my thirst and also decided to pick up some Popcorn Chicken before my dinner on a decent weather Saturday afternoon in February. Ume Tea is located on Castro street where you have to navigate around the hustle and bustle of many people taking a stroll or looking for food and drink like I was. The inside of the store is let's say very kid friendly and also friendly for the big kid in adults. Ordering was done by the touchscreen kiosk and the line on this day was at least 4 people ahead of me. Once I ordered, I hung back by some colorful decorations. I ordered their White Peach Oolong Milk Tea and a Popcorn Chicken. The milk tea wasn't too sweet as I ordered it at 50% sweetness and the Popcorn Chicken was actually good with not too much breading and lots of juicy chicken underneath. I'm a fan of the popcorn chicken. I was lucky and found a table as some people were leaving, and I happened to just start looking around for a seat at the very same moment. There is limited seating however. read more

Cute fruit tea/boba shop. Found while walking off our dinner in downtown Mountain View. Love the vibe here! Also love that there are two ordering stations. Still, had to wait a while to order as the girls were taking so long giggling at the cute menu options. Lol. We got to the shop about 30 minutes before closing. Once we ordered we waited about 15 minutes for our drinks. On all fairness, the shop was packed with some people even waiting outside for their drinks. We were fortunate to snag a table inside. Almost as soon as we got our drinks, maybe 5 minutes later, the worker made an announcement that the shop was closed while thanking us for our business. I didn't even have time to notice that the lychee jelly that I had added and paid extra for was NOT in my cup until after the store closed. As far as the drink, even tho I ordered my lychee and watermelon drink less sweet at just 25pct sweet, it was wayyy to sugary for me. I had to wait until I got to the car to mix my no sugar iced tea into drink to make it drinkable. Will order 0 pct sweet in future. One of my friends mentioned his was way too sweet also. So be warned. Like that Ume Tea has a rewards program AND multiple locations across the state. Will be back for more fun drinks and great company! read more

I ordered too good to go and asked if I could have zero sugar (no sweetness) drinks. I was told yes but offered three boba tea filled with sugar. Order online! I thought there was going to be a wait on a Sunday afternoon, so I ordered 20 minutes before I got there. I arrived and my drink was already made. Stopped by on a Friday evening around 8pm. Wasn't too crowded when I first walked in, only about 5 people inside. By the time I left, it was super crowded. We placed order on kiosk: brown sugar boba milk and mango pomelo sago. I've had their drinks at the Milpitas, Cupertino, Palo Alto, and Las Vegas locations and the experience has all been pretty much the same. The mango pomelo sago tasted fresh and had good sweet flavor. One thing was that the drinks took a while to come out. Took almost 30 minutes for the drinks to be made. Also, one drink was ready 10 mins before the other. read more

7/18/24. Around 2 pm The interior was super cute. Love the design. Very spacious with seatings. Ordered a milk tea with taro and boba large (~6.5?). At first i didn't now that we needed to select a sugar level so I had no sugar. I went back and asked the employee to add the regular sugar 100% in and it became wayyyyy to sweet. Maybe because of the boba and taro was already sweet but that was unexpected. They did give quiet a lot of boba and taro which was nice. The taro was also slightly hard. -1 Overall, a cut place and a great location. read more

Matcha was okay, What I did not like how ever was that the employees made the drinks with no gloves. I got a peek of behind the curtains and noticed the employees did NOT have gloves. I wanted to give Ume tea a try having walked past it multiple times when at Castro. Huge regret! There are many other options by Castro - please give this place a miss. Service was a huge mess!! I waited more than 40 mins for my food order and the worse part of it was - they got it wrong! I ordered popcorn chicken non spicy, sour plum, and my order that arrived was very spicy without any sour plum. I've been to other Umes in the Bay Area but this was my first time at the Mountain View location. We arrived at around 9pm on a Saturday and they seemed pretty disorganized. They had run out of milk (??) but it wasn't clearly communicated to customers ordering via the kiosk. We didn't order any milk drinks so it didn't affect me but I saw them calling up customers after 5-10 mins to ask them to change their order. They also seemed to be well staffed but they appeared to be overwhelmed. Our 2 drinks ended up taking around 20 mins which was longer than the quoted time. The grapefruit green tea was refreshing as usual. I decided to try the green tea jelly which was nice but I felt like charging $0.80 was steep. The mango sago was just okay - mango was more tart than sweet. read more
