Pork chilaquiles
Alicia C.

A winning pork chilaquiles for sure! Holy flavors. Damn! Popped in for breakfast and only needed to wait about 30 mins for a table. They add early happy hour from 8-11am and we enjoyed a cocktail with our meal. A nice view right on the water made this a lovely AM.

Overpriced menu items. Few options for vegetarians. Friendly staff!!! Right next to the ovean, so all the good stars goes to great view during dining.

Started off with coconut corn chowder, delicious! For drinks we had Mai Thais and Pino,so good.We all had Macadiam mahi mahi and swapped out rice for mash potatoes. It was the best dish we had our entire trip. For dessert we had coconut cream burlee and ice cream sandwich. Fantastic service and awesome ambiance too

Husband got a burger and said it was 8/10. I got coconut shrimp and it was good. I also got the pork pot stickers and they were good but the ginger was overpowering making my mouth kind of burn- so be aware. The famous Mai Thai: I'm so sad but I did not like it and sent it back. Ice cream sandwich was great. I ordered a lavender drink and that one was good! I think this restaurant is worth it for the views but over priced and over hyped for sure. I would not return. Our server was nice. I think there are better options around here I just haven't found them yet.

Poke bowl

Mixed review for this place. Service was great, the location and outside eating excellent. The food - mixed. I had the poke bowl, which was excellent although for the price was a little small. I also feel if you run a classy joint you don't serve the sauce in a plastic cup. We had the Szechuan beans - so very salty, too much salt for sure. Fries - not hot when they arrived Creamed corn - a highlight for sure Vegetable pop pie, huge but served with white rice which appeared very odd. Many better places for the price I felt.

Ka'anapali beach has a cute little boardwalk along the resorts in the area. This is considered the South side and is Mauis busiest area according to the net. Knowing this, I booked our hotel near this location. On search for food off of our resort we made our way to Whalers Village, oddly enough many of the restaurants were closed or didn't appear to be open. We walked a little further down the boardwalk and there was Ulu Kitchen! Ambiance is everything a restaurant overlooking the ocean should be! Very nice menu! We came here twice because of hours of operation and because the first time was really good! Let's get into it! Avocado Toast - I added a medium well egg and they made it perfect! Avocado was whole and I love that! Perfectly made! Crab Cake Benedict- Delicious We came here twice, that is telling! Shout out to Karen! You're the best!

Just a short boardwalk trot away from our resort, Ulu Kitchen is one of the restaurants located at the Westin. Definitely a casual setting with the option of dining indoors or on the patio, Ulu Kitchen is a nice dining choice when perusing the boardwalk. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we only had a chance to eat breakfast, but it was so good, we decided to do it twice. She said her avocado toast was the best she's ever had and my crab-cake Benedict was excellent. I wouldn't say it's the best that I've had but excellent just the same..LOL! Service was impeccable on both visits, however, Karen during our first visit was awesome! She gave us to go drinks, which was definitely a nice touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who's staying at any of the resorts sharing the boardwalk, or even the shoppers at Whaler's Village. You'll get great tasting food and excellent service to match!

Amazing view of kaanapali beach during sunset. Easy to make reservations ( a big plus). 3 hour of complimentary valet parking at Westin. Service is attentive and relax. Live music in Hale mo olelo. Ulu is breadfruit so we ordered the breadfruit potpie and special fresh caught of the day Mon Chong fish Nallely is our nice server that recommended the special of the day. That came with tahini beurre blanc sauce, lobster salad and eggplant potstickers. Very good and new concept. Breadfruit potpie is hot and has this coconut milk yellow curry , bread fruits in puff pastry crust with garlic scallion jasmine rice on the side. Good portion and tasty. One page of food and three pages of wines on the menu sorry I'm driving tonite so just a Kona light blond. Good experience. Recommended.

We stayed at the Westin for 4 days and had voucher at the ulu kitchen for breakfast overlooking the ocean. The views are unbeatable and staff if also very good. They have a fairly small menu and all the items were amazing. We tried switching between a lot of items just to see if we could try the most. They have only 2 sweet options for pancakes and both are great with the blueberry lillikoi butter being my favorite that I ordered them almost every time we dined there. Menu is a bit pricey and most of our orders were almost 75$-100$ each visit. Coffee being very steeply priced for 8$ in a place that has Starbucks as well right next door. If in the area, I will definitely come here again, there is no item on the menu that you can go wrong with. Also all their sauces and jams are house made so while I absolutely loved their lillikoi butter i couldn't buy that one and I feel so bummed :(

Veggie pot pie
Amita J.

Had a great experience at Ulu Kitchen in Maui! We ordered the veggie pot pie and butternut squash quesadillas, and both were amazing. The pot pie stood out -- the puff pastry on top was crisp, fluffy, and perfectly golden, and the flavors hit the spot. For drinks, we tried the Blind Hibiscus, which was refreshing and slightly sweet, along with the Smoke Show and Lilikoi Whiskey Sour -- all delicious and well-balanced. Overall, everything was excellent -- great food, creative cocktails, and a relaxed Maui vibe. Definitely recommend!

Great ocean view, fine dining experience, staff full of aloha and food was farm to table and delicious. We enjoyed the filet mignon with lobster ravioli. Our friends had the veggie pot pie but wished it had protein. They also ordered the smashed cucumber salad and the macadamia nut fresh fish. The fresh raviolis melted in your mouth and paired delightfully with the med rare steak. We topped it off with a glass of Obsidian cab which was beyond perfect. The ocean view from our table was the best. You must take your date, friend's and family because they offer Kama'aina rate on food. We will be back soon!

Having a nice dinner in Maui so decided to hit up the Westin down from my resort and Ulu is on the beach Great ocean and sunset views! Everyone cameras out lol Service was great and our server was friendly and our food arrived pretty quickly I had their bistro burger which had arugula and this delicious slice of gruyeres cheese soooo good! The fries were double straw fried and also yum Pot stickers of pork with a spicy habanero sauce and some green beans with macadamia nuts and finally some yummy shrimp A great overall meal

Filet mignon

Great food! I had the burger with gin and tonic and marg. Great outdoor seating with chill ambiance. View of the ocean right in front. Not too noisy and not too crowded. Friendly staff. Fast service. The filet mignon was also perfectly cooked of medium rare. I'd come again!

From our resort villa, we online ordered a large Crispy Pata, $46, and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes! Our Crispy Pata and a box of rice and dipping sauces were ready and waiting for us! It was delicious; fatty, crunchy, and full of flavor! This Crispy Pata lasted us quite a few meals, which we added to saimin, or rice. If you want great local Filipino/Asian fare, come to Joey's Kitchen in Napili. I am sorry that we missed the opening of their new restaurant, Dang Dang Noodles, by a few days. Next visit!

While I adore and often cook a lot of Asian food I'm not such a fan of Filipino food yet around it more than any other food with family. Bad choice. After driving there from Lahaina for lunch, this dish was unavailable?? Even yelpers rave about it! So we ordered the pork belly and wanted chow fun but they only have the chicken variety? So there is a reason why the Asian restaurants we usually dine at make beef chow fun. The chicken version was bland and wanting for something else to complete it! But surely edible and nicely cooked noodles. The pork belly was ok but not slap your momma I'll go back for that good. The Mac salad was awful compared to much more affordable plate lunch places. It was flavorless, overcooked pasta, and a gritty texture! Weirdly the chairs there at the tables are low and you feel like you are at the children's table at Thanksgiving. So much so that us and two other groups including the ones that moved after ordering to our vacated table moved from the regular tables to the ones at the window with a bench on one side. We had fun joking with our replacements about that! So for the most part here it appears to be tourist clientele and not many Filipinos but my wife. I think that these exceptionally high prices for basic dishes and burgers (she asked why would people go to a Filipino restaurant and order a burger) are why not many locals eat here. And frankly most aunties make better Filipino food better at home. Glad we tried but not again. Checked off of our try try list. They didn't even have a signature dish available that we went particularly to get.

Beautiful views, incredible food, and surprisingly family-friendly!…read more While visiting Maui, we made a reservation at The Plantation House, and it ended up being one of our favorite meals of the trip. The setting alone is stunning--overlooking the Kapalua golf course with gorgeous ocean views--but the food absolutely lived up to the scenery. We started with a fresh house salad, which was simple but perfectly dressed and a great way to kick things off. For entrées: * My husband ordered the short rib, which was incredibly tender and rich with flavor. The sauce paired perfectly with the creamy mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. * My oldest son had the prime rib, and it was cooked beautifully with a great sear and topped with asparagus and a flavorful butter. * I chose the shrimp scampi, which was buttery, garlicky, and packed with shrimp. The pasta was coated in the most delicious creamy sauce and even came with toasted bread to soak up every bit of it. * My younger two ordered from the kids menu--the kids short rib and butter-and-cheese fettuccini--and both plates were generous and surprisingly elevated for kids' meals. Everything we ordered came out looking beautiful and tasting just as good. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the whole experience felt relaxed but still upscale. If you're visiting Maui and want a spot that delivers great food, amazing views, and works well for families, The Plantation House is absolutely worth the reservation.

We arrived right around sunset, and honestly wished we had come a little earlier to fully take it in. Such a gorgeous setting. The service was amazing. Our server was incredibly kind and kept offering us more bread (which I happily accepted because it was that good). The bread came with chive butter that was so flavorful, and the bread itself was warm and delicious. There was also live music, which made the ambience even better--just an all-around beautiful place to relax and enjoy a meal. Bonus points for free valet, which made parking super easy. For food, we got the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, which was really good, slightly on the sweeter side, but still flavorful. The Hawaiian short ribs were a standout for me: super tender, perfectly cooked, and just packed with flavor. We also ordered the panko crusted calamari, which I loved. The pieces were thick, juicy, and had a light, crispy coating that wasn't greasy at all, really easy to eat. Portions were also very decent. I also saw their breakfast menu and now I definitely want to come back to try it soon!

I remembered that we ordered the Loco Moco on our last trip, and it was memorable enough for us to return. This time around, we ordered the blackened seared ahi plate, the panko fried mahi mahi sando and spaghetti and meatballs for the kiddo. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed with our food this time. Both of fishes entrees were only okay... somewhat on the dry side unfortunately. Even the kiddo, who can be pretty picky, but LOVES spaghetti... he was even discerning enough to say his entree was a "3 outta 5, mommy." I'm sure their other items are pretty good, and maybe they were having an off day, or we just didn't order their best stuff. Whatever the case was, it was a little disappointing. We typically love joints like this... little hole in the wall type places. Service was stellar though-super friendly staff, especially since we were "local tourists."
