Wow! Went to Turtle Shack in European Village last night and absolutely loved it. Had triggerfish tacos which were probably the best I've had in years. Their included side dishes are awesome as well especially the cilantro rice. Great selection of draft beers too. They also had a fantastic acoustic guitarist playing and the overall atmosphere and vibe was amazing. The service was awesome and quick as well with a large crowd of customer. The bar area was packed but still got our drinks quickly before being seated at our table. Lots of tables inside along with great seating outside as well. We will definitely be putting this restaurant in our rotation of great restaurants to choose in our area. read more

My family and I ate here for dinner one night while on our beach vacation in Palm Coast Florida. This restaurant was located in the European Village. We sat outside, was such a pleasant dinner experience. It was a Thursday evening but on Friday evenings they have live music outside. Food was delicious. We had the grouper, mahi tacos, crab cakes, and coconut shrimp. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We would definitely go back. Service was very friendly. read more

We eat here at least twice every year when we vacation in Flagler or St. Augustine. It is a tradition that we started about 10 years ago and we are never disappointed. The food is always excellent, and the service is phenomenal every single time. The beer and wine list is excellent and offers rotating local drafts on tap. We are addicted to the mussels appetizer (Soak that bread in the broth - you'll thank me later) and the blackened trigger fish entree. One of us usually gets a special to try as it is always a winner and something unique. We also enjoy the prime rib when it is available. The pineapple poppy coleslaw deserves a special mention as it is so delicious and refreshing. We miss the wooden tables in the screened in porch, but the storms over the years forced them to renovate. The restaurant overall has an OG beach shack vibe and relaxed atmosphere and has something for almost everyone as they offer casual sandwiches to higher scale entrees. Also - definitely kid friendly (well behaved kids I should say as a courtesy to other patrons.) Turtle Shack always delivers! read more

Excellent little place on the beach. The pierogis were excellent. Got them fried by recommendation. Never had them that way- like a pierogi egg roll. Anyway- tasty. The grouper and crab bisque was addictive. Loved it! I decided to try the Trigger fish. I ordered it blackened with rice and slaw. Just a great meal! The fish is flakey and kind of hard to eat, but really mild. So good! The coconut shrimp were bomb! Perfect! The report on the burger was great too. If we come back to Flagler Beach, we'll be back for sure! read more

The food here is consistently very good. Atmosphere quite nice,Wait staff always attentive and friendly. Everything I've tried was very good. The hamburger in the photo I purposely ordered plain with no extra's on it to actually taste the flavor. It was prepared perfectly to medium rare and was juicy and very flavorful. You can enjoy eating either outside or on the inside. I would suggest you try this frindly cafe type eatery, don't think you will go wrong. read more

The food is excellent & a pleasant place to go for a late Friday lunch. The service is top notch & friendly. We chose to sit inside and it was very cozy. I had the grouper sandwich & my husband the mushroom. The sides are unique and flavorful. read more

Driving towards home on the A1A and saw this cute little establishment! I'm all about finding a little holes in the wall. This place fit the bill perfectly! We sat outside, so we could enjoy the afternoon breeze. Super sweet, waitresses, and hostess. I had a delicious cider and the boys had beer. I'm always in the mood for fish anything, so I ordered the grouper tacos. WOWZA!! Everything about them was delicious! Chicken sandwich was juicy and tasty, and the fish and chips were cooked perfectly! Definitely will be back when we are cruising up the A1A. read more

Absentee management. Been several times but wasn't able to dine on multiple occasions. They don't have enough staff (or can't get), so they only allow a handful of patrons to be seated. Food isn't memorable enough to stand around waiting for them to deem you worthy of a table. News flash.....you're not a not for profit therefore you needn't blow off willing, ready and able customers wanting to spend money and spread favorable recommendations about your business. Too many other options in European Village so we're done! read more

Went for an early supper with some girlfriends. This was the first time I've been to turtle shack in the evening. It was packed, but it was cozy and friendly. The food was delicious. A friend who was vegan and gluten-free ordered a Portabella mushroom burger without the bun and they let her substitute the sides so all of her dietary restrictions. That was very nice. They had a nice assortment of fish dishes, including triggerfish, which is kind of rare to find on the menu . Delicious jerk chicken tacos. Yep, I ordered chicken even though it's a seafood restaurant. I was very happy with my choice for a small up charge. We were allowed to swap out our regular sides for plantains and they were fabulous! I would recommend this place. I hope they keep plantains on the menu because they cooked them to perfection! read more

We loved the spot on A1A. Went to the European Village location when it first opened. Service at the bar was so bad we left. Figured we'd try it again by just getting a drink at the bar to see if it was any better. Unfortunately it wasn't. One employee was doing their homework at the bar. Another employee 'finally' told her to stop and go take care of her tables. I'll eat elsewhere. read more

I had the best Margarita at Turtle Shack that I've ever had! Really great, the food is fantastic & European Village is beautiful at night. Great service too. read more

Really nice atmosphere at the European Village. It is a shame the food does not come close to being as appealing. My burger was way overcooked with scorched bottom and tasted like it was an older patty re-warmed. The burger included shaved prime rib but was not fresh at all with a cheese melted over all this. The accompanying fries were room temperature and again tasted like they were not freshly cooked. What a shame for owners to serve low, low quality food and not think twice and charge $ 20 for a cheeseburger/fries meal. Does anyone care to make good freshly cooked food and be proud of what is being served ? Not here read more

I wasn't a fan of the fish and chips because the batter was dry. The soup was pretty good and flavorful; however, the chicken Philly was dry and didn't have too much flavor. I really enjoyed the view here though, it's right across from the beach and a nice spot for lunch. read more

Went there for cocktails. Tried four different cocktails in the group. Literally every cocktail tasted off. "Pretty in pink" tasted like a vomit flavored Bamboozled Jelly Belly Jelly Bean. Maybe the bartender isn't a bartender? Prime rib on prime rib fries tasted off. The server was awesome and friendly though. read more

It's shack food. Grouper sandwiches, burgers and more, but done very well. We went for lunch and were a bit confused by pictures - we thought it was a stand alone (I guess that picture was from Flagler Beach), it's in the "European Village." We were a bit skeptical, but it was busy - which is a great sign. Lots of teamwork going on, the hostess seating was also waiting table and same with the bartender. The service was great, the food was great and all with a friendly locals atmosphere - we'll be going again! read more

Only 2 stars because service was decent. But the food has gone down hill. Fifth time here and my last. Trigger fish tacos were absolutely disgusting. Fish tasted bad even with the Caribbean jerk seasoning which is always good. I have been waiting 20 minutes for waitress to come back to table. I do not recommend this place. read more

Really delicious coleslaw and fries. Great sauces. Loved the coconut shrimp. My daughter loved the mac and cheese and fries. Great beer menu. Live entertainment. Super friendly and efficient service. This place is a gem for sure! Can't wait to return on my next visit to the area. read more

Heard great things but fell flat. Maybe the old location/atmosphere near the beach made it a whole experience...now it's just food.

We went to turtle Shack when my son came to visit . It is beautiful, at their new location. We all had really good food and our server Krissy was amazing! read more

The lightly blackened grouper tacos upgraded are the way to go! (Got mine minus the jalapeño and tomato). They were so so good! My husband got the trigger fish blackened and he wished he had gotten it lightly blackened because it was good but it just had a little too much seasoning for his taste. Another in our party got The lightly blackened grouper and he said it was good. The pineapple and poppy seed slaw is excellent. The seasoned fries are good too. There was an incident with the tacos but it was quickly resolved and they were so considerate! Everyone there is so friendly. It's a nice little place and we are glad we stopped in. The reason for only 4 stars.. so the chairs where we sat felt like they were gonna fall through and were uncomfortable, it was hot inside, we asked for refills but never got them. (May have been because we asked a staff member other than our wait person) but in our defense it had been a while since we saw her (she seemed very busy that day). read more

Our Book Club went there for our monthly meeting. They put us off to the side and we were able to hear each other. There are 7 of us. I had their Reuben sandwich and sweet potato puffs, excellent. Others had the Cob Salad and Burger and they were very pleased. We are going back next month. Good service for a big table. read more

Great service! I had the A1A Mushroom Swiss burger. Outstanding. Looking forward to trying more.

We arrived at 6:15, got seated right away, even though it was busy. We got drinks at 6:30pm. No bread. So imagine waiting over an HOUR with an 8yo child for your food. The server's response "we're busy - nothing I can do about it.". i mentioned I was light headed after alcohol and no food - no offer of bread. Had to ask for water. 7:40pm food arrives. We both ordered seared aho tuna. The searing was done, but the tuna had sat out so long, the seared exterior was room temperature!!! The sides were piping hot. So how long had those tina steaks sat out to get cold on the seared exterior?? The server offered to hear up both portions. A few minutes later she plunked down the now totally stir-fried and ruined ahi steaks, cooked through. My mashed potatoes were gone, so were the garnishes. It was just a pile of brown lumps. Inedible. To their credit they comped the meal but it was an entirely unpleasant experience - being busy is what restaurants should expect, not an excuse for slow service and cold entrees. read more

Have had this on our list to try and stopped for lunch yesterday after a little beach time at Matanzas Inlet. We were not disappointed! Friendly service from Matthew and the rest of the staff - Matthew recommended a great Cabernet and let me taste before I committed - much appreciated! Hubs started with the clam chowder which was excellent - I had to sample a few spoonfuls as well. For main course, he had the peppercorn ahi tuna with a blueberry teriyaki sauce and said it was amazing and perfectly cooked (he was leery about the blueberry sauce but said it worked nicely!). I had the coconut shrimp - delicious and nice and "coconutty!!" - also had the pineapple poppyseed coleslaw (not a coleslaw lover but this was quite good) and we both had the double stuffed potato. Even though we were stuffed, once we heard they made their desserts in house, we opted to try the peach cobbler - soooo gooood! Great beachside little restaurant and look forward to returning! read more

On our way back from St Augustine we like to take the A1A. This place is right off the road with a great view of the Atlantic. When the cars were not passing by you could actually here the waves crashing on the beach. We started with some clam chowder. Very tasty. The cup was a nice portion size as well. Next we moved on to the mains. I had read the reviews about their 12oz burgers so I had to have one of those. I got a standard one with white American cheese and LTOP. Huge! Next time I will get the 6oz but it was so good. Tasted like they have a grill outback. Flavors were spot on. Deb ordered the jalapeno Cilantro lime linguini. Delicious and lots of it. We actually had it for dinner too. The flavors were intense and the heat was just right. Sliced jalapenos add a nice kick. 5 stars is well deserved here. I know now why they have so many good reviews and have been recognized locally as one of the top places to eat. We plan to make this a regular stop when we were up this way read more

My 2nd review, First one was 3 years ago when I was a tourist, now I'm a local and still a fan! Menu Selection - 5 Service - 5 Food - 5 Ambiance - 5 if you are outside and 4 if you are inside Loved our lunch visit today. It was a chilly day so we ate inside. Hubby got a burger and fries, I just wanted some freshly made crab soup and a double stuffed baked potato. Everything was soooo good. The soup was creamy and crabby in the best way. The potato was on point. See my pictures, the proof is there. Hubby loved his burger and fries. Everything fresh! read more

I'll start w service and view. They were great! The servers are friendly and you cd tell they knew all the locals and the view is fantastic. They are directly across from the water. Only a small amt of outside seating which was a bummer. Lots of options on the menu. The plus was lots of seafood and veg options. The downside was that there wasn't a ton of flavor. It was good but not great. Seafood has so many options for seasoning but they didn't seem to take advantage of it compared to many other restaurants. For a weekday lunch it wd work and I'd be full but other than that I wd probably try some others in the area read more

Two parties that arrived after us were seated before us, got their food and left before we got our food. Good Lord is this place outstanding! If there is a better spot in Flagler I haven't found it. The crab soup is awesome! We ordered the blackened grouper with fresh vegetables and the jumbo sea scallops with fresh vegetables. The grouper was soggy, tasted like it was defrosted in a microwave. The fresh vegetables were cut green beans that were grey and out of a can. The scallops were tiny and most likely not real scallops. What a waste. read more

Had the grouper tacos with the added "works" which was a very strange yet wonderful combo of things like blue cheese, jalapeños, soy reduction, avocado and more. Satisfying and would order again. Also had the key lime pie as we're doing a "key lime pie" crawl and trying different key lime pie around the state. This is the best one so far. Service was some of the best ever as everyone who worked there was extremely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
