Great place for soups and breakfast. So many great options. I live in the area and this is always picked by family for meet ups and coffee dates

Cute! No pressure coffee house with large flat top tables that allow for big groups or plenty of space for board games, crafting, reading or even computer work. There are even some outside patio tables when the weather is nice. Ordering is done at the front counter cafeteria style and then food is brought out to tables based on numbers. There is always fresh baked bread, pastries, cookies and bars that are delicious whether eaten in house or taken to go. Personally, I enjoy any of the house soups, quiches, coffee drinks and juices such as apple or orange but today I tried my first spicy chicken wrap and it was good! There is a larger breakfast menu including omelettes and plenty of sandwich choices as well. Sides typically include the option of salad, fries, sweet potato fries or chips. Usually I try to shop local when I visit here as there are many cute local businesses in the area of Chicago and 46th along with Lake Nokomis. Enjoy!!

If you love breads and baked goods, this place is a must visit. You are immediately blasted in the face with the smell of deliciousness as you walk through the doors. So many oversized carbohydrate options to pick from, how can one limit themselves? They also offer soups and bake at home options as well. When we stopped in they did offer two gluten free baked good options that met the approval of my GF kiddo. The staff here is super sweet and helpful. I can see why this place is popular with the locals.

Chicken Tortilla soup - FYI there aren't any tortillas on this soup! They just call it Tortilla soup for the hell of it! ‍ Disappointed! Usually every thing is great, but don't tell me something has X ingredient when it doesn't.

Yes, that's dirt and grease on the pendant light as well as the duct work behind it.

The food is average, price is too high, service too slow, but the place is DIRTY. I'm surprised I didn't see a mouse in there.

I am not usually a coffee drinker, but this place has great lattes. So smooth and not too sweet, which I love! I wish they had a medium-sized drink as their small is too small, and the larger one is a bit too big. I've always gotten the bigger size and ended up finishing it throughout the day!! My favorites - chai latte, spygirl (lavender/honey latte), solid gold (turmeric latte). Still have a few others that I want to try while I am still in MN. Definitely going to miss this spot when I go back home!

The lobby itself is very stylish, with big dark bookshelves, large plants, big fireplace, cozy and comfortable seating, tables, a pool table, etc. When we visited it was decorated for Christmas and that alone was worth the visit! The coffee was delicious and service good. My husband and I both ordered the seasonal "Shakespeare's Fool" which was delicious in decaf and regular. The latte art on top was a plus! The only downside or thing to know is that this location will not accept Spyhouse giftcards because it is part of the hotel. I came wanting to use one, so this was a bummer but I understand and the barista was very apologetic. As a side note about the business, it's impossible to check your giftcard balance online. So while I'd like to use my giftcard, I'm unsure if I will realistically be able to soon!

The outside patio and entrance area was also cute. I think it'll even be cuter in the spring and summer as the snow covered a lot of the patio area. The inside has a classic coffee cafe feel to it. Bigger than I expected inside. The menu prices weren't bad. Food was actually kinda cheap in my opinion. I ordered the the classic breakfast which came with eggs, red potatoes or greens, and toast with jelly. The food was pretty good. Nice balance of flavor. Id get again. I also ordered the nutty professor latte which had good whip cream but I felt it was overbearing with the nuts on top I couldn't really get to the whip...I guess that's why it's called the nutty professor though. The drink tasted like a sugar cookie. I was a bit confused why a hot coffee drink would be put in a glass. Staff was kind and helpful. Nice coffee selections and bakery looked decent. Not a bad spot overall.

Order at the counter, and the staff will bring the food to your table. When done, you can leave the dishes on the table, but bussing your dishes is appreciated. Gigi's is a great place to meet friends, hang out, and enjoy good food in a relaxed neighborhood home away from home.

I went with the egg-cheese-ham breakfast sandwich on an asiago cheese bagel. Delightful, especially compared to other breakfast bagels around town. The slice of chocolate-banana bread caught my eye also. I ordered a 2-shot medium latte (they pull double-shots) that came in a mug atop a dainty china saucer with lovely foam artwork. Ten tables and a handful of padded chairs are spaced throughout the shop, with only 5 of them occupied at 9 am on a Wednesday. I think there will be outdoor streetside tables once the snow melts. Electrical outlets are a bit sparse, but they do exist along the main wall. What really made my experience special was the service -- something I rarely see at coffee shops. First off, I ordered vanilla flavoring for my latte, but after the cashier poured it (and before I paid), I noticed that they had a salted maple latte as a limited time special. She graciously poured out the vanilla syrup and started my special latte. On completion, the barista called out, "Vanilla turned into Salted Maple Latte!", which I found amusing. Finally, the third attendant walked my breakfast bagel to my table as I was washing my hands. Just little acts of kindness and service which I much appreciated. Note that all prices include tax and tip, so prices appear high on the menu board, but in the end were equivalent to what I've been paying the first two days of shuttling in south Minneapolis. Easy Day Cafe is the best place I've visited for coffee or breakfast in a while. Enjoy!
