I was a walk in. I am very very particular about my nails and have been having them done for 25 years. Bee did my nails and was a complete snot and acted completely bothered by me being there. She talked to me rudely and told me she couldn't do things I have had done before. Her nails were ok (I can wear them a few more days as they look like thick jelly beans) a little too thick near the cuticle. The salon itself was nice and the receptionist was such a doll and so helpful. I wouldn't go back only because of how rude Bee was. I tipped her $5.00 because that's how mean she was. My sister got dip powder but was not advised to wash hands before dipping fingers into powder, didn't cut cuticles and powder all still under nail once finished. My sis being the nice person she is didn't want to say anything. The lady who was doing my pedi recognized that we weren't happy and asked. I was there for at least a half hour after power was lost. When I went to pay, the rude woman asked me to write my credit card information on a piece of paper, I told her I wasn't comfortable with that, I'm not a venmo or any of those services user. She had a rotten attitude, was rude as hell, actually told me to get the fuck out because I refused to write my credit card number, told me she wasn't going to close up and run away with my 37 dollars. No shit! I do not want my credit card info laying around or worse yet in the hands of someone else. She even spoke to me this way Infront of other clients. Very unprofessional and ridiculous. She also called me a bitch! Grow up and try to figure it out without acting like a child. Don't yell at someone and call them names and expect them to take it. Wow! I have been to many Saint Paul salons and I will be returning to Tu Nails for a variety of reasons. First, there is a spacious parking lot making step one of arriving be a breeze. Secondly, the interior embodies a spa with soft, gentle running water and I was able to pop in on a Sunday with no appointment scheduled. The staff was quick to greet me with zero waiting. My nail technician, Tan, did an extraordinary job. As this was my first visit, he offered me the brochure of pedicure options while the water was was getting up to temperature. I selected the $55 hot stone pedicure with the matcha lemongrass scent - highly recommend this! I had hot towels placed on my calves, a perfect massage, had a say in the package I selected along with the shape of my nails and overall was relaxed the entire time of service. There is a 20% off coupon if you check-in and I didn't check in until I left so I will use it on my next visit. They now offer Venmo as a payment option which I would like to call out since other reviews indicate that the staff pushed for cash. So, don't laugh at me because my fingers are sooo swollen and fat, but at least my polish looks good!! We stopped close by here to grab breakfast, and then decided to get our nails done! The interior is so lovely, and we were the first ones in, so no wait! Everybody was very friendly, and we were immediately offered cold drinks. For starters, I usually have very long nails and I'm so very extra. I always go somewhere in Brooklyn park to get them done because that's where I've found the best service for all my needs. When I walked in, I got a discount for checking in with yelp, which was very nice! And the inside was so beautiful and calming. The whole time I was there, it was just me and my friend and one more person came. They fixed one nail. My pinky nail. It broke. The next day. On top of that, they had NOTHING but polish. No diamonds, no flowers, no flakes, I don't even think they had glitter. And then, I asked for a mat top coat, and she agreed but when she was putting the polish over top she told me they didn't have any left for my nail length, which made me laugh cause it was just "no, no, no" Although, It was the cheapest I've ever paid for my nails. So I normally get really good manicures here and I love the environment. However, I went in asking for a new full set and they told me I only needed a fill. My nails were pretty grown out underneath and were already slightly separated from the acrylic. I trusted that they knew but they still said the acrylic underneath looked strange (I had gotten a manicure in a different country). 6 hours after my manicure, my nail broke off. I'm just disappointed that I have to go back and have it fixed when I asked for a full set, was told I didn't need one, and clearly I did. Update: I went back to get my nail fixed. They wanted to charge me $5 to fix the nail even though it happened HOURS after I got them done. Two days after I got this nail fixed, another nail broke off. I've been here a few times for pedicures, it's a little hit or miss but it's a beautiful spot and the folks working here are very nice. I had an appt. for two pedi's for my sister and me. I've been getting gel pedi's for a while but my nails grow so fast so today I decided to just go with regular polish. Upon checking out the 20% check-in discount on yelp was turned down b/c of new owners. Hopefully yelp can take that down bc I'm not going to lie that was an incentive to go bc I was treating my sister to a pedi too. My pedicure took 30 minutes on the nose which is pretty dang quick but they did a good job. That being said there really wasn't a message or deep scrub associated with the peppermint pedi that is $37. I was also charged an extra $5 to remove the gel polish. Which seems weird b/c I got my last gel pedi done here a month back. My pedi last time was advertised as $50 bc I sprang for the organic, but inevitably I was billed $90 bc of the gel polish. $90 for a gel pedi, that's pretty steep. I was out the door today with a $90 charge (an additional $2 added for using a card and not paying cash and then the $5 to remove the gel). And then with a cash tip totaled $110. Which for me is a bit steep for two basic no fluff 30 minute pedicures. Overall I struggle with the added fee's and inconsistency on timing. They are nice, it's clean, and the ambiance is great. But 30 minute basic pedi's with no gel polish should not run @ $40 before tip. read more

Walked in after work around 3:15 and was greeted promptly, sat in a large, luxurious massage chair, and enjoyed two hours of relaxing and immaculate work on my feet and hands. Kim was a doll, very sweet and detail-oriented. Gave a great arm massage during my pedicure and after my mani! Hot stone massage on my legs was heavenly. My gel polish looks perfect, I kid you not. I hadn't gotten my nails done in over 5 years and figured I'd get a basic mani/pedi, but there is a menu of different scent types for the pedicure that apparently includes a lot more services than I thought. Total was $100 plus tip, well worth it considering the quality of my nails and all of the services included. It's consistently good service (i.e., everyone is friendly, they're great at their work), the prices are reasonable, and it's always a way better experience than comparable nail salons in the area. The pedicures are on par with a spa experience. Even the basic pedicure is lengthy, full of details, includes a lower leg massage, and just generally feels like you're really being pampered. They prefer cash, and if you don't have any, their ATM only charges a dollar for a withdrawal. read more

I requested the design in the first picture to be done to my nails...the individual doing my nails told me it wouldn't look like the picture due to my nails being shorter, I said that was fine just do wavy lines. The lines they attempted were very jagged and thick, they looked awful. After seeing the design, I asked to remove the lines before they were cured with the light and just put an overcoat on my nails and be done. The individual proceeded to very sloppily put the over coat on my nails leaving it extremely thick on a few nails. On top of it all, it cost $60. Which seemed expensive for the quality of services I received. Although the customer service was good, I wouldn't recommend receiving services here, I won't be coming back. read more

This was probably one of the worst pedicure experiences I've ever had. I went in for my birthday with my best friend and boyfriend to get pedicures because they had time to do the three of us last minute, that was awesome. However everything following that was not okay. Boyfriends pedicure was good, everything seemed pretty clean and it's very nice inside. My pedicure was very rough, the gentleman cut my cuticle and didn't even acknowledge the fact that he did it and didn't say sorry about cutting you. When pumicing my feet he was EXTREMELY rough and my feet aren't even soft 4 days later. I've never experienced that before. The conversations he held with me and my girlfriend was unprofessional and the tone of the conversation wasn't professional either. My girlfriends pedicure was EXTREMELY uncomfortable for her and was giving her anxiety because the guy was staring deep into her soul and she didn't have a good time either. Pedicures on average are about 45minutes-1 hour. This pedicure took TWO hours even after we kept saying we need to go and be somewhere at a certain time. Boyfriend finished his service at a decent time (45 minutes), I was able to receive polish after about 1.5 hours and after 2 hours my girlfriend only received top coat because we had to go! Checking out of the salon was a whole other experience. Boyfriend paid and didn't tip. As I was reaching into my bag for tip they starting bad mouthing us in Vietnamese about how we weren't tipping the service providers (yes one of us speaks and understands Vietnamese). We shouldn't have paid for such a horrible experience but because I am a hairdresser I'd feel guilty not tipping or paying. But I honestly regret the whole situation. Will never ever return or recommend them to anyone. If I did ever return I'd need to double check those men that provided us with pedicures were licensed because it didn't seem like it. I now have to pay for another pedicure when I return to Seattle to fix what they have done. read more

I am the typical mani & pedi type girl... I am by no means a regular... I've tried most of the nail salons in the 55104 & 55105 zip code area. This is by far the most beautiful and glamorous location. The pedicure was average and the cost was average. My only complaint was the pedicure chair.... I felt like a small child sitting in the chair... they are HUGE... I am not a very tall person to begin with... but usually with a bit adjusting I can sit comfortably in a pedicure chair. These are like a kings throne big... It was also a bit chilly in the salon... I am sure they are just getting settled in with their first winter season at this location... so I will give them a pass. As it's new, I hadn't heard of it before. I can't say enough about how great my experience was. As I had a lot of errands to run after work, I called in to make an appointment for a pedi. When I arrived, they greeted me with smiles and many welcomes. Everyone was so friendly. The place was gorgeous. It definitely has a glamorous spa feel. The technicians paid close attention to cleanliness of their stations as well as my comfort. I wish I didn't have to write this review, but my gel nails came off about 5 days after getting a mani/pedi here. I've had gels many times, but this was truly disappointing. The salon itself is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. My main technician was friendly (I forget her name as it's been over a month since this experience). For a Sunday afternoon it was not very busy, but I'm guessing this is due to the salon opening recently and the location. I was bummed that while I was getting my pedi from another technician, the main technician rushed over and did my gel mani at the same time. I get this when salons are packed and they need to rush you out the door, but it didn't seem necessary and it made me feel anxious. My technician also had a hard time balancing the gel machine on the arms of the pedicure chair, and there were a couple times that it nearly slipped off. Overall, I wish I had a better experience, but I was planning on coming back to try it again thinking maybe it was just an off day. It's too bad my nails came off so soon because I was ready to give this place a second chance. Will not return. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! Avoid this place!! I went in for a dip on a Sunday and they put a color on 3 of my nails which I expressed I did not like. They told me- verbatim "that's too bad. We dipped, now you have to keep it!" I was angry, understandably I thought, so they told me they'd put a gel coat over the top instead of redipping my nails. I expressed concern that the gel would just peel off as it typically does on my nails and I was reassured that because it wasn't on my physical nail, it wouldn't peel. I returned a day later with two of my nails having peeled and they offered to repaint them. I didn't think repainting was an option because I was afraid they would just peel off again and I asked them to redip this time. They told me they would charge me a full $70 to redip my fingers because it was another service and "it wasn't their fault I didn't like the color." Then they said if I wasn't happy with that arrangement, I could just leave. I'm shocked and appalled at the lack of customer service and lack of quality of their performance. An absolute waste of $70. Your money is much better spent somewhere else where the staff might be friendly and the quality of products might last longer than 12 hours.
