Anytime I come here the staff is very friendly and helpful. The woman who seems to be the manager or owner (I believe her name is Mari) always goes above and beyond. She and one of the employees worked really hard to take slip joint nut off of a p-trap for me so I would only have to purchase the nut and not a new p-trap, which saved me about $12. I thought the two items had corroded and fused together but she let me know that the issue was the installer used plumbers tape or a similar product (she had another word for it, which I can't recall), and if I cleaned it out before reinstalling then the issue wouldn't reoccur. A big box store would never go through this much effort. They also have the sweetest dog that I love to pet anytime I go there.

When I was struggling to mount a shelf, I got advice from one of the employees who was super friendly and explained to me exactly how to screw in the L brackets I was struggling with. He walked me over to the aisle and showed me exactly which screws would and wouldn't work for my project and explained to me how the screws would interact with different wall materials. Most recently I dropped by just before they closed to pick up drywall paste and a pallette knife. Despite me walking in ten minutes before they were supposed to shut, they didn't make me feel rushed at all and helped me find what I was looking for. I always prefer supporting a local business and I love having a neighbourhood hardware supply store I can count on with employees who feel kinda like family.

I feel like companies that might not be considered that same caliber get beat up so I wanted to acknowledge what happened to us today. As customers we can come into a store with a chip on our shoulder already and we take it out on the staff. I remember the times I was on their side and had to descalate a customer issue. And I'm not saying that staff are perfect, or don't give attitude to customers, because it happens. When I am in those situations where I see how hard they are working to help the customer I choose gratitude and acknowledge that I appreciate them. A little kindness goes a long way. We stopped by around 2p and again at 4p: While, unfortunately, we had to cancel one of pick up items I want to express how amazing our experience was. The 1st visit was to discuss a replacement for the batteries. And the CS staff was awesome, while still being short staffed. The manager who worked with us after to see if we could get a replacement was also so nice. Unfortunately, the other pick up item, a tool chest, was dented when we got home so I immediately turned around and did an exchange and again the team at CS and pick up were incredible. During the holidays customers, I know, can be extra demanding and when you're short staffed it can affect morale but each person I engaged with went above and beyond and for that we are appreciative!

If the store advertises wood cutting, someone should actually be available to do it. Otherwise, don't waste customers' time with a help button that clearly does nothing. I was pretty much uneducated on this topic (ours in our home were installed by our trusted contractor). This is sometimes a not-ideal knowledge situation to be in entering a Home Depot (as you can leave with a sour taste in your mouth from an employee talk). But in our case, we got help from Daniel, and we left the Depot with satisfaction that comes from a good, honest interaction. Daniel identified that we needed help, and spent a lot of time with us. It was clear he was educating himself as well, and was easy going as he looked for the right parts with us. That attitude definitely rubs off on consumers, and left the store better educated and with parts that we knew we could return easily if it didn't work. And yes, we learned that these hinges comes in different 'sizes' anywhere from 1/4 inch to 1 1/2 inches, and that a typical kitchen set of cabinets uses most of them.

I had been…read moreavoiding going into any Home Depot, but especially this one, for years but its been over a decade and we needed some gardening supplies so we figured this location would be the best. While there were no familiar faces, I was both amused and irritated by the blatant customer-avoidant behavior the store associates displayed that day. I watched one gentleman turn into the aisle my friend and I were in, look up and see us, did an immediate about-face with military precision and quickly retreated as fast as he could. Another walked by us, made brief eye contact, and then pulled out a piece of paper from his apron pocket staring at it as though it was the most interesting paper in the world. We checked out in the garden department with our bags of soil and little pots. The soil we bought had one of those easy to open tops that you just have to pull on. The cashier lifted the soil bag right at that spot tearing it open. My friend saw it but I didn't until we were loading the bag into the car. I shouldn't be surprised but I am disappointed.

I will often go to the Issaquah Lowe's if I need to do something that requires talking to a person. Their staff is ample and friendly and knowledgeable where here at the landing (which is way closer to me than Issaquah) it is hard to find someone and when you do you need to badger them to help you. Also they require you to BUY WOOD before they will cut it to size for you. What's the deal with that? I have to lug a bunch of plywood to the front of the store for you to then cut it to size for me after I lug it back to the cutting station at the opposite end of the store from where the checkout counter is. That's crazy. Don't do that, I don't do anything lumber related that isn't just buying 2x4's from Renton Lowe's anymore. Any Home Depot & Issaquah Lowe's are getting all of my business that requires more than just my own hands and the self checkout. People that I do interact with when I'm walking in or doing the self checkout are pleasant. And there's a guy there that works behind the paint desk, and he's very nice. Oh and they have good bathrooms. Very convenient because sizzle dog is right there and sometimes during lunch ya gotta run in to make a quick deposit mid hotdog ya know.
