The Ace claimed culture of being customer friendly and helpful has been tainted by new management. Now days they don't even carry half the items you need, instead they modeled the store and inventory more closely to a Walmart and the staff are young kids without home repair knowledge. read more

My favorite spot for retail therapy. My girl at the counter always keeps it real and saves time for small town chitchat with me which bugs the locals in a hurry and idc. I love their knife sharpening, pet selection, home supplies and hardware. They're a decent midway stop between Home Depot and sporting goods and they carry enough retail stuff to shop for gifts in a rush. The world needs more Ace hardwares in every neighborhood. read more

We quickly made Ace our go-to when we first moved to town. I feel this location has a much broader selection than others I've been to. We've found: everything we need for grilling, home, garden, cleaning, and pool. We check Ace before heading down to Issaquah for Lowe's or Home Depot - often we can find what we need at Ace for a comparable price. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. read more

Today I received the best customer service I can remember ever experiencing. I've been working on a gutter project and needed to make just 1 cut that required tin snips. The cut would have required 2 snips (R/L), which was going to cost over 50% of the entire project to make the 1 cut. Brandon Ray made my day by letting me borrow a pair of his after seeing my reluctance to buy a tool I'd likely only ever need to use once. This is not the first time I've received excelled service here, however it sure stood out as going the extra mile! read more

We went in here with our dogs today, one employee asked if he could give our dogs a treat, I said yes, so he did and walked off. Without asking, a couple of employees surrounded our dogs and started giving them treats... I asked her to make them sit, but she ignored me. Then, one employee dropped a treat, and because he didn't eat it right away, she got in his face to pick it up and take it back. It overwhelmed and intimidated him, so he growled... Then she said "he growled, he's an aggressive dog." He is not aggressive! She just doesn't know how to handle dogs. Naturally, I was offended. Dog 101: 1) You don't give a dog a treat, then take it back. 2)You ALWAYS ASK the owner if you can give their dog a treat. 3)You ask the owner if you can pet their dog, and listen to what they have to say... You never just crowd someones dog out of nowhere. It's all common sense really. I won't be bringing my dogs in there ever again, and my dogs are pretty much the coolest and sweetest dog's on the planet, so it's their loss... Please train your employees to respect their customers personal space. That experience was just awful. read more

Concierge service. If they don't have it they are quick to refer to McLendon's etc. Also great delivery service for big/heavy items.

The positives: They staff the floor well, so when you're looking for something, you can find it. Personnel have varying degrees of expertise, but they're invariably friendly. The rewards program is pretty good, and Ace gets good buys on bulk buying for specials. The negatives: Prices are high, returns are more difficult than I 'd like them to be, so I try not to buy anything I might want to return. I just tried to return something I picked the wrong size of for cash (I'd already gotten the right size elsewhere) and was told they weren't taking any returns until some period of days after the governor lifts covid19 orders. I'm tired of covid19 being used as an excuse for poor customer service. Carmichaels in Snoqualmie, Lowes and Home Depot all make returns easy, despite covid, and have better prices to boot, and at least in the case of Carmichael's, very knowledgeable staff. read more

This place still feels like the small town hardware store of my youth. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. It's stocked with more than just hardware. They have a decent sized garden section with a lot of variety. Fun and unique candies, great Christmas and holiday decor, and toys and puzzles that my kids love. Si athletes with a sponsorship (of our softball team) and not only did he commit immediately, he expressed appreciation for what we were doing for our local student athletes - it wasn't about him, it was about the kids! I have been shopping at Ace since they opened but yesterday my husband and I had a really great experience. We came in to get a gallon of paint and I wish I would have looked at the guys name tag that helped us. He was courteous and helpful unlike the jackass at Lowe's. I love these guys. The staff is unbelievably friendly, helpful, and informative, and they almost always have exactly what I'm looking for. We recently moved here from Seattle, and this has become one of my go-to places for our many gardening and home renovation projects. I really can't overstate how friendly and knowledgeable the staff here is, and the awesome odds and ends you can find that you wouldn't expect a small hardware store to carry. I actually bought some really basic, decent picture frames from this store, and used them as part of a Christmas present. They also have a great selection of Carhart stuff and a small variety of outdoor-type shoes and boots. Plainly put, they rock. read more

ACE hardware is the best place to shop (unless you need huge building supplies, then go to Chinook or Home Depot). They have a wide variety of everything. We have purchased pool supplies, hardware, paint and caulking, pet supplies, gardening equipment. The staff have been fantastic to help find what I need and will call other professionals when they cannot help. When I needed programmable keys made, they called another guy to confirm he could help and then gave me that guys contact information. They are friendly, they are helpful, and I never have to look for something long before someone will come help me find what I'm looking for. It's great and I will continue to support this home-town store. read more

Have been shopping there for years and have to honestly say that after my recent shopping experience I will never be shopping at Ace Hardware in North Bend again. Was making a purchase and attempting to use a $5.00 off coupon from an Entertainment Book that I purchased to support a youth organization in North Bend. Was told that they did not honor the coupon despite having redeemed similar coupons in the past. My purchase was over the minimum amount required to use the coupon. I asked if the store clerk and the manager if they were willing to not only lose a sale but also a customer over $5.00 and they replied "yes". Probably not a smart business decision for a retailer with a small market but needless to say, I'll never be shopping there again. read more

I normally like Ace Hardware stores. Better than most large home improvement stores. So maybe this review is not fitting because of the circumstantial nature, but here goes. I have been having a predator problem on my property; it has been killing my ducks. I work full time, and only have time to make one stop after work to find a solution before stores start closing. So I called Ace today, and asked them if they have electric fencing supplies. I have been having issues trying to find the supplies anywhere closer. I was told by the lady I talked to that "yes, we have the full setup - everything you'll need." I drove 30 minutes to get there, and lo and behold - there are barely any supplies. They didn't even have the charger unit or grounding rods. The man I spoke to at the store was very nice, but that doesn't forgive the fact that she confirmed possession of needed supplies, probably without even checking their stock. Just due to this situation I will probably not shop here again. Otherwise though, Ace has always been great. read more

Saves you a drive to Issaquah when you need to pick up odds and ends. They also have a big dog bone selection, which satisfies the bet in our house. We recently moved to town and came to this store about 10 times in the first month. We bought 2x4's, dowels, nails, screws, picture hangers, a saw, a bird feeder, bird food etc... lots of great things to find here! read more

I asked three different workers where to find some certain items and they each sent me to three different isles, none of which had the things for which I was shopping. I've spent most of my nearly 50 yrs in the valley. Grew up here. Have lived back in North Bend for nearly 11 yrs. We have alot of pets, particularly bunnies & Guinea pigs & used to buy much of our feed from the ACE hardware here in town. Thought I had a decent relationship with the lady in charge of the animal supplies for the store. Several years ago, a friend stopped in the ACE to pick up a bag of rabbit pellets, as her bunny was wintering over with us. She mentioned whom her bunny was staying with, to which the lady in charge of the animal supplies, said something to this effect :-She sure doesn't need anymore bunnies-: This was very hurtful to me. And I stopped using the store for ANYTHING for well over a year. I did write the manager, to which he replied, he hoped that I would change my mind & allow them to work back into my good graces. The specific employee has NEVER apologized to me in person. This is a small town & we see each other around town fairly often. Plenty off opportunities to say an apology. Even before that, I was never thrilled with the service there. read more

NOT very happy. Just bought (3/30) a new $300 craftsman lawnmower. Work one time now won't crank over. Tried to return to my North Bend, WA Ace and was told sorry we do not take returns of this product, you'll have to drive 40 miles to Seattle (Sears repair) and then maybe get your mower back in 2-3 weeks (per the Sears CSR). So much for buying local!! read more
