Worked with Bin here and ended up with excellent, very affordable cabinets. It takes a little work figuring our the sizes that you'll need, planning out layout. I think you'll need to expect taking that work on yourself if you want to be sure it's done right. With that said, I got good customer service and am very happy with how the cabinets turned out. They were cheaper than Ikea or Home Depot and look/feel much nicer. This is one place where you don't have to splurge to get something that works well. Would highly recommend GS. read more

Bought a sink cabinet - on a strict "no returns" policy - only to find the quartz sink top did not fit the wooden cabinet. The opening of the top drawers would be blocked by the quartz top edge. This must have been known to GS when they set up these items in their showroom. read more

This is the cheapest place in Seattle that I have found for granite and quartz, BUT buyer beware. If you know how to cut, handle, seam, and polish edges, then this place is a good deal for you. If this is your 1st time buying or installing stone do not step into these waters. If you choose to ignore that advice, you do so at your own financial peril. I have been buying granite here for 11 years. Twice my order has both been cut correctly and ready when I showed up. Seriously, 2 times out of maybe 20. You have to measure your stone before it is loaded, inspect corners and edges. There have been a few times when I provided a template and the cuts we still off. MEASURE BEFORE YOU LEAVE. If it is wrong and you leave, they will not fix and you will not get a refund or credit. Will not. As stated, stone prices are cheap, there is little to no haggle room on the stone, but they make their profit in fabrication: the cuts. Be aware of that when you are discussing cost. There is also wide margin on their sinks, fixtures and cabinets - especially vanities. The cabinets are plywood flat packs and quality is in line with IKEA. I would advise against a cabinet purchase here, but I am a cabinet maker so I am by nature bias. They put gas the glue for a couple weeks and some people hate that smell. In summary: cheaply priced, but quality stone, zero customer service during or after the sale, and it is on you to make sure it is all correct. read more

Do NOT purchase anything from this company!!!!! They do not install their products correctly and they will not repair the shoddy work. We purchased new kitchen cabinets and new countertops from them a few years ago. Unfortunately, the countertop cracked with normal use. We had another installer come out (from a very reputable company) and take a look. He informed us that it was installed all wrong. They drilled screws up into the underside of the counter to level and hold the countertop which one should NEVER do. This causes pressure points on the cabinet and any weight placed on it can crack the counter. If you go into their showroom and look at their displays, you will see that ALL the counters are installed this way. When we returned to show them pictures and explain this, they refused to replace them...saying that they don't offer any refunds on their products. They also refused to try and repair it, saying it would look worse if they tried to repair it. However, the other installer we consulted called them, pretending to be a new customer, and asked what would happen if a countertop cracked after they installed it. He was told that they would replace it..no problem. We brought this up in the store and they still refused to replace it. I will be reporting them to the BBB for unethical practices and I will never purchase anything from them again or recommend them to anyone. If you want quality work that lasts more than 2 years, trust me and do NOT purchase anything from this place. read more

When I had an issue they SHARPIED them and said this is because it's natural stone and industry standard is to sharpie and to expect cracks. (We refused to accept so our contractor did remove and we went with real granite from a new company) The cabinets they installed by flashlights at 8pm at night. They are flaking one month in and they are refusing to fix. They say it's not their product that's an issue. (Every single one had dings in it). Not to mention they left a mess when they left. We purchased a remnant piece and two undermount sinks to replace our old, cheap laminate countertop. Had good timing as we went in on a Saturday (the shop was busy with customers!), found a remnant we liked and scheduled the install for the upcoming week, got a surprise call Monday morning that an install spot was available later that day, and we got our new vanity countertop installed two days after after walking into the GS Building Supply building. The installers (three of them) came, measured and cut the countertop onsite in my front yard. They needed access to a hose and power outlets. The vanity top is not 100% perfect as a corner of a sink cutout was sanded/finished not perfectly straight. But I'm easy and it doesn't bother me as the new countertop is a vast improvement over what we had before. We're extremely satisfied and amazed at our turnaround time (which is a fortunate exception). read more

Quality of the plywood box is nice for the price. For our specific house needs and style, we needed other options than what GS had for countertops, cabinet hardware, and sinks. This place is a complete joke. I ordered a white fish countertop for my kitchen remodel and it was such a disaster. A gentlemen by the name of Binhe helped me order the countertop. The project was delayed two weeks from the anticipated install date. When it finally came time to select the slab and install the guys showed up late and the install was terrible. All the seams were uneven, had dirt in them and you can see the seams from across the room. To top it all off there is a huge 1/2" gap between the countertop and brick (see photo). After talking to the installers about it them said its the best they can do and left the job. I called Binhe the salesman the next day and he told me that the installers will come out the next day to fix the job. The installers arrived and said I had two options 1) they rip out the countertops and damage my cabinets in place and I get a full refund or 2) leave as is. End of story is that Im left with a really bad countertop installation with no concessions from GS. I'll never come back here again. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS SHADY BUSINESS. read more

I would like to give them 5 stars but I cannot. Although the installers did an awesome job installing my bathtub surround and my vanity top with double sinks (they both are very beautiful), I really feel deceived by GS. The bathroom surround display at their store clearly has multiple corner shelves in both corners. There are no signs saying the shelves are not included AND Nicole, the sales person, did not say they were not included. We also were not offered the option to pay extra to install the shelves so my wife and I truly believed the shelves were part of the surround install. I guess it is my fault for not asking? Now they want to charge us $200 extra to come back and install the shelves. This seems like deceptive marketing so please make sure you ask about everything before you give them any money. My husband and I went in person to pick countertops for our kitchen and to have them installed together with plywood. We would have the old countertops removed and ready for them to install. A day prior to installation Maro calls us to confirm that we are ready with PLYWOOD down. We specifically asked for plywood installation to be included in the quote. He says it will cost more to install the plywood now. We wouldn't have a problem paying if Maro would acknowledge that he messed up when he prepared the quote, but he kept insisting that it was not in the quote so it is not his fault. We specifically asked for it to be included in the quote in the first place. He did not apologize for the mistake, not once, and kept saying like it was our fault! Our initial experience with GS was pleasant mainly due to the $$$ spent ,we had a large kitchen project. When we returned for a second buy of laundry cabinets valued much lower we realized that as a return customer with a small order the customer service was very poor. Extensive wait time upwards of 2hrs past the promised time, abrupt and careless remarks from the sales person, they left almost $100 in hardware (handles and moldings) out of the order, when called to request that the handles and moldings be delivered, the sales person informed is that they rather have us return the cabinets. Customer treatment should be unbiased and fair for everyone that walks thru the door, it is apparent that GS sales and leadership doesn't live up to these customer standards We won't be returning to GS for our next remodel project or be recommending them. read more

Had a bathroom refinished by these people. They could not have done a worse job!! Brought wrong granite, installed sloppy, finished back-splashes are crooked and rough edges. Was referred to them based on, "they are cheap, and do good quality work." Neither turned out to be true. Bottom line, they are a custom cabinet shop who didn't get their specs right and blamed the problem on me. I tried my hardest to get the specs correct with them. I went twice to Seattle to visit in person to make sure I understood them and they understood me. I asked if they could modify their invoice to reflect my dimensions so I could verify if they matched mine (no, they would not bother). I paid extra for a custom install so that the guys would be there and see if anything went wrong. After all that, they got one of the cabinets wrong. I was also disappointed in the granite as it didn't look the same as in the showroom but that's on me. They made such a commotion during the install that I didn't notice until the minute they left and I had a moment of peace. Called the next morning. I see from another reviewer they offered to pull it out and refund him. I would have accepted that offer. I would have worked with them on a variety of solutions. But Boris's one and only solution was to say, "too bad for you". I was expecting to have to replace the whole thing from scratch. The contractor I hired was expecting the same thing. Then he thought he might be able to fix it but only break the counter top. I said go ahead and do your best, but don't worry. Worst case scenario you'll have it removed, which is part of installing a new one. But he was able to rip it out, modify it to my original specs, and put it back in tact. It went surprisingly well. So why don't they have enough experience do to this for their customers? Or at least try to negotiate a solution? Perhaps because they didn't consider me a customer. Couldn't he happier with GS, I was recommended by a friend to use them because he was very happy with the quality of his cabinets and quartz 2 years after install. After doing research and reading reviews I was apprehensive and quite frankly nervous because of the mix bag of reviews. After the completion of my project I'm extremely happy I went with them, the week of my project I had a death in the family and another family member had a massive stroke and was in acoma they were able to move my installation and work around my last minute schedule changes, the lady I worked with Moon was so nice and helpful it was amazing. When it came to the cabinet installation the guy was so good at communicating what needed to be adjusted or changed during install. The following day my counter tops were being installed and that team as well was very good about asking what i wanted and they even had to create a template for my sink as I didn't receive a template from the company I purchased my sink thru. Just from reading the reviews and seeing issues other customers ran into I believe the "disconnect" might be in the expectations. GS is not going to be a contractor type experience, they're not going to hold your hand throughout the process like a contractor would, but this is reflected in there prices. If you know what you want and are able to manage the process on your own you can't beat the pricing of GS, I shopped around all over the place, yes many places I walked into I would be greeted by an employee and they would walk me thru all the different products and "hold my hand" thru the mock up of my bid, but I was usually the only customer at these stores when I would visit. Walking into GS on the other hand you will have to approach an employee to get some help yes, but everytime I have visited the store it's been packed! Thats a big reason I decided to take a chance and go with GS, I couldn't imagine the store always being so busy if customers weren't satisfied with the product. So in my opinion if you're confident in your own plan and you know what you're looking for and can communicate it clearly and specifically you're going to get what you are expecting. If you are not confident in what you want done then you're probably better off hiring a contractor but expect to pay double. I'm a contractor. Working on a small, but difficult job the GS crew struggled to get a countertop into the extremely tight space. But, they persisted, and eventually got it correct after a second visit. I can see that people who want the white glove treatment would not be happy here, but you're not paying for that. They do what they do competently and for a better than fair price, which is why I give them 5 stars. If you're looking for white glove treatment, you'll be happier elsewhere. I have used GS for 3 installations in my house. The first one was rocky - the crew didn't show up and they didn't communicate this to me beforehand. If I didn't call, I wouldn't have known that they were having problems with their installers. The second and third installation ran smoothly and I was satisfied. About 6 months later I discovered powder post beetles in the new bathroom cabinets. The beetles are contained within the cabinets. They were transported in the GS cabinets prior to installation. I approached GS and told them of the problem. They said it could happen anytime and had a dismissive attitude. Rather them taking them to court and expending my time and effort, I am posting here to get the word out. Beware of their product. Inspect it beforehand. Get a warranty against pests. Or just don't do business with them. read more

..so far no issues with my counter and sinks, but the instal crew was a hot mess. 90 minutes late to the instal appointment. they complained about my cabinets multiple times, didn't bother wearing any shoe protectors and my floors are now a disaster- made zero attempt to clean up after themselves- in fact they informed me "you have a lot of cleaning to do", destroyed my rug in my kitchen. did not once ask if it was ok to use my bathroom (i of course would have said yes, but be polite and ask). the hole drilled for my bathroom sink faucet was not spaced correctly, even though i had the faucet there for the measurement. thankfully my contractor did some magic so it doesn't look terrible. they also don't inform you that they will need a large area to work along with access to power and water- when you live in a condo- this information is vital. while i love the look of my counters and sinks, i can't recommend based on customer service. read more

I have used GS Building Supply for several properties - kitchens and bathrooms. Have never been disappointed. It's an easy process. Bring in the measurements of my kitchen or bathrooms. They will draw the diagram of my cabinets with my input as to what sort of cabinet that I'd like where. They'll determine how many slabs I need and I pick out a sink. I have my contractor install the cabinets and GS installs the countertops for me. The day of installation they'll need water and an outlet available and a spot outside to cut the countertops on site. The installation takes a couple hours. They do a great job with countertop seams. I'm excited to finally do my primary house this week. read more

I am actually giving them 4 out of 5 stars despite all the frustration I had with them, because it was exactly what I was expecting. I would recommend this shop to all the contractors or handy/frugal home owners who are ready to spend extra time double checking everything, constantly nagging the sales team and doing some work yourself. If time is not a resource you can easily spare, do not even try to use them. Pros: excellent quality/cost value. I have saved at least $4K compared to the next cheapest provider I considered. My project included: replacing countertops with quartz in 2 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 1 laundry room, 4 sinks, 2 cabinets. The total cost of the project was in $7K ballpark compared to $10K+ from a competitor. In order to earn that margin we had to do all the demo ourselves, experience a mistake in measurements by them, live without any sinks for 7 days while nagging them daily to finish the job, be called a "b'tch" by the sales rep for pressure from my side. Installers are good professionals and there was only 1 tiny flaw they made, which is comparable to the highest paid contractors. Overall I am satisfied and git exactly what I was looking for- nice upgrade for fraction of a price. read more

I was very please with Chery at GS. She was knowledgeable and patient. I changed plans a several times and made a few wrong measurements. Chery came through with each and every issue I had, and the cabinets looks great. Shout out to NOL Kevin Knight (206) 578-0921 for doing an excellent layout and install. So I was referred here by my brother in law. He had not used them before but another contractor friend had. I was attracted to the pricing, of course. BUYER BEWARE you get what you pay for. Initially all was good, plans finalized and paid for. I picked the type of granite I wanted and asked for bullnose, I was told I would need an extra slab for the bull nosing and was told I would need to come out a week prior to pick out the actual slabs. My husband is also a contractor BTW. He and his brother picked up the cabinets as they were installing them themselves. The cabinets were supposed to be espresso. The fronts were the right color but the rest was cherry in color. I hate cherry. If I wanted cherry I would have ordered that. I brought a cabinet back to show them. But the display was made exactly as mine were. On top I was told I would have to pay a 25% restocking fee to return. So I sucked it up as I did not notice the difference (note to self, don't fall in love with a color, check the whole thing out carefully) the new cabinets had a couple dings and scratches but on the backs that no one will see so I wasn't super concerned with that. After installation they look 'OK'. I can live with that. On to the granite. I went in a week prior to return mounding and trim that is cherry and bought actual espresso colored trim etc at Pius kitchen and bath down the street. And asked to pick my granite. I was then told, 'oh you need to come back the day of installation to do that'. UGH so a week later I go to pick slabs again. After arriving early I was told I had to wait until exactly 9am. I sat in my car for 20 min and went back in. Then I was asked to take a seat and wait....and wait (30 min goes by and he checks on it for me)....and wait(15 more min goes by he checks again). After an hour I go outside. Well there is only one slab of 3'x8' so no choice there. They start pulling the 2'x9' slabs out and I pick one by one. On a side note the bill nosing is already done on each slab. At one point one of the guys who doesn't speak English says 8'. I said no it's supposed to be 9'. No one says anything. Slabs are picked and loaded. They come out the my house, husband and brother in law and I are trying to communicate. I whip out google translate that's when the installers tell me the slabs are 8' and I will have an extra seam. I said no I don't want an extra seam. I translated that my husband and his brother are contractors. That's when one of the installers goes down and makes a phone call. Long story longer I called My sales person as well Not happy and super pissed off I demanded a refund. He said he had JUST found out that they didn't have 9' slabs. I call BS. He knew the week prior, that is why I couldn't pick them. The installers also knew when they were loading the slabs that's why the loaded one extra 'just in case'. If you are doing a quick flip project and don't really care about quality. Go for it. But I certainly don't recommend GS BUILDING SUPPLY and they lost 3 contractors and all of the contractors they know as well. read more

If you know what you want and don't have extremely picky tastes, I highly recommend G.S. Cabinet Supply! We hired them to do the cabinets and counter tops in our kitchen. Yes, they are no frills, but they got the job done, got it done well, got it done quickly (took only 2 days to remove old cabinets and counter and then install the new ones), and did it for 1/3 of the price of anyone else we had give us a quote (including Lowe's and some other independent dealers). They also use top-of-the-line stuff, including plywood frames, dovetailed drawers, full extension drawers, and we also got the soft-close cabinets and drawers. The main drawback is the limited selection (I think there are only about 8 cabinet styles offered), but like I said, if you're not picky, it's great. I actually appreciated being able to pick 1 of 8 rather than 1 of 800. Also, unlike other reviewers, I was actually very happy with the customer service. We met with Boris several times before deciding to purchase, and he was always extremely nice and helpful and his English was good. We also had a few issues with the installation (one of the cabinets wasn't cut deep enough to accommodate our oven). They came back the next day and fixed it without complaint. We also did get a new cabinet door (we had requested a glass accent door for one of the corner cabinets, but they installed it as plain). And yes, they did have us pick up the door and install it ourselves, but it really was easy to do (took less than 10 minutes and we just picked up the door when we made another trip down there to go to Costco). They are so great and affordable that we are considering using them again to do our bathrooms and laundry room. read more

The counter tops look good in my kitchen. I give it a 3 for the good price, 1/2 price from Precision's 2cm granite slabs. I didn't compare with 3cm, which I ultimately bought. I give it a 1 for customer service. Jenny was so defensive to questions and basically didn't answer them nor advise of good basic helpful info. Very uncomfortable experience. She said basically "Don't you trust us, we have done this for x # of years. What??? They came to my house to install 2cm but I rejected them as I saw a visible seem line on each slab. I have learned most 2cm have this as they add to make it thicker, I didn't notice this on the slab display but now notice it on many granite installs. They could have explained this when I was shopping and this would have saved us all time and money. Well I changed to a 3cm slab increasing the cost $800, but there isn't a seam. :) Finally on my final install day I thankfully was switched to another saleswoman that was kind and helpful. But the guys who assisted me in choosing the slabs made the choice uncomfortable as they said no one checks the slabs (???) and that we need to start so they can finish another install after mine. Previously I had asked but they said I couldn't choose the slabs before the install day. So I couldnt receive good service without having to be changed to their 2nd install of the day which would affect my schedule. So really I didn't do a good job of choosing my my slabs but they look find. Unfortunately it was also hard to communicate with installers and others due to due to English non-proficiency. Also on the first day of install another $150 was added for plywood. It was said it was explained, but it wasn't. I then learned you must have plywood under all 2cm's. One of the 3 slabs was not cut straight (I assessed it to be sure it wasn't the perpendicular level of my wall, and it wasn't). This was the case on the other two walls which I wish I had thought about for preparation for their install/ and earlier stages of my do it partly myself remodel. Yes do not put hot things on the slabs. My boyfriend turned on the wrong burner and burnt through a griddle, he picked it up and put it down quickly on the counter and it lightened the color of the stones. Two white spots, I imagine only I know they are there. Oh well, so much for buying something new. In summary, you can get a better price here but be prepared to have communication issues.
