If you're local and want in person side by side color views of Fiestaware this is your shop…read more I stopped in and was surprised at how jam packed everything was. It's the epitome of clutter - a bit unpleasant to navigate and there's a bit of a smell that made me not want to venture farther into the store. The front desk person was wearing headphones and didn't respond when I greeted him, through he finally noticed me and took them off to say good morning. I was curious about the Fiestaware colors they carried (if they had pre-86 Rose) since they appeared to carry retired items as well but didn't especially want to linger in the space. Overall, they could do with a strong air purifier and cutting down their shelved stock so it's more manageable to view.

I stopped into Seattle Cutlery to check out their varied olivewood accessories…read more The service was friendly but when touched something about the quality of the wood seemed a bit off, although the prices were reasonable. I loved the world map decanter and glasses, and their Seattle coasters were super cute, so I'd definitely come back.

Huge selection of knives but also so much kitchen knickknacks that you didn't know you needed!…read more The lady at the knife counter offered us a chance to cut some celery to get a feel for a couple knives. They had some that were reasonable priced and some definitely on the higher end. Unfortunately we were traveling only with carry-one so we couldn't purchase any. But everyone who worked there seemed very knowledge and were quite helpful. We will be back with a check in suitcase next time!

I told him he quoted $10 to which he just nodded and didn't say a thing but repeatedly pointed to the calculator. $15 is a fair enough price, so why didn't he just say that in the first place? I don't trust the bait and switch.

It wasn't very stable to begin with as it was difficult to cut cheese with the wire not being taught. Went back to the store and was told they didn't make wires for the unit I purchased. I called RSVP to find out what could be done about the wire and was told to return the item to the store I purchased it at for an exchange. I asked why I would do that when the first one I purchased didn't last. It wasn't worth it to me to go back and get another inferior product. The folks at RSVP were not helpful at all as their only "answer" was to return the item for another one. I'd stay away from the products these folks offer as their "support" is non-existent and they have no way to fix something they sell. I threw the rest of their "product" away as it was useless without the wire.

My girlfriend is Polish so she took the opportunity to grab some Made-in-Poland products and send them home to her family. Ceramics are great. Soup mixes and other cooking mixes are awesome (and in Polish). A plus -- they accepted AMEX and shipped it tax-free to my home state NH.

Selling my condo so had to update both kitchen, bath and separate vanity cabinets and countertops…read more I went to all the usual companies for quotes (Sanyuan, GS, A1, Pius etc) and made a crazy spreadsheet comparing them. 1st Ave came in second cheapest (GS was the cheapest). I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.
