Then Albert just casually walked onto the scene and so I thought, let's bring the global in for a sharpening because even if he destroys it, I won't be mad. Pocket knives, huge cleavers, the stuff from Japan..... yep all the steel goes on dates with Albert. Oh and he always is selling cool new/vibtage/local knifes in stor

Our knives are better than new and slice like butta'. In fact, one of our kitchen knives had a ding at the tip, and he smoothed it out. I transported my knives via towels and paper bags to my nearby Whole Foods' Customer Service Dept. They had me fill out a form and then they put the knives in a long box. He charges by blade size, and they have a form that makes it easy to measure. I've already been slicing & dicing more than usual--probably because cooking is now 100% more enjoyable (and quicker). If you've been on the fence about getting your kitchen knives professionally sharpened, drop everything and take those dull blades to a happy place! I was only without my knives (3) for two days. Eric is a fantastic craftsman, and I'm grateful that he provides such great service and skill.

The smith was a total jerk and seemed to not know the term "tsuba," either, even though he was determined to make me feel the idiot. In spite of all this I purchased a shiny axe with a dark oak handle from them, in part because I wanted to support a local business and in part because it seemed balanced and looked nice. It was not cheap. Now one year later I see that the chrome plating now has some black spots that will not rub out, even though it has been sitting in my bedroom the whole time and I have not used it to cut anything. A quick google search finds that: "This problem of black spots which you are facing seems related to base material defect which you might have failed to notice during pre cleaning stage and the same is appearing over a period of time once plating is completed." In summary- this blade smith sucks.
