Whoever the woman with glasses who was manning the store today around 2pm was absolutely the most rude and judgmental human I've encountered while in Seattle. She basically kicked me out of the store when I had been looking through their cards and stickers - which mind you were right in her view, so she had no reason to think I was being "shady" or suspicious or anything of the like - and I even offered to place the items I was looking at on the counter until I was ready to check out. After perusing about 5% of this jam packed store, whilst shoving food into her mouth, the lady seriously had the gall to ask me "if I was done" (mind you there were about 15 others in the store at the same time) because she was "closing the store to go pee". Long story short, this woman needs a reality check and attitude adjustment because it's clear she feels like she is above others and her behavior was not only unwarranted -and unprofessional, but honestly confusing as I don't understand what made her treat me like trash but I hope whoever usually mans the store is a nicer human because they had a ton of cool stuff in there; unfortunately much of which I was unable to even look at due to this woman literally forcing me to leave by trying to ring up everything I placed on the counter and then continue to ask if I'm "done" etc to get me to leave. Again, a shame for whoever the actual store owner is but pro tip for someone who has worked in customer service, don't let this lady be the face that deals with customers in your store. read more

Upon walking in I stumbled across the Polish pottery place where I ended up spending about an hour and a half and quickly bought my weight and beautiful goods. There are so many items everywhere in the store it was difficult to navigate to find everything my mom was interested in. However we were successful in the end. WOW WOW WOW. The storefront has been a favorite between my partner and I for sometime. For our one-year anniversary I was in search of a specific patterned mug that the store unfortunately sold out of. I gave them a call to see if they had it in one of their back rooms which they unfortunately did not. Expecting my Journey for this mug to end here, I was surprised to be met with a phone call much later from the store owners saying that they have it in one of their warehouses. They then searched it out and had it shipped over to the store ready for me the next day. I never asked them to do any of this, it was just baller customer service. My best friend and I love this shop! We can spend so much time looking around and still not see every gem they have. I stop every time I'm at the market and will always find something that I feel is a must have. The shopkeeper is sooo nice and the last time I was there, I showed interest in Alice in Wonderland items and she hooked me up with gorgeous Italian marble coasters decorated in the classic illustrations. I visited and shopped here a few years ago and one place I remembered so clearly was Polish Pottery Place. I walked in and was mesmerized by the amount of beautiful pottery, figurines, artwork, etc. What was even more fantastic was a lot of it was reasonable to purchase. I bought a few things including a small pottery jug, a plate with a painting design, and another crafted pottery bowl. I loved all the creativity and designs of every individual piece. I don't know if ive mentioned this, but my grandfather was Polish. I was raised by him and my grandmother, and I get warm and sentimental for anything that has to do with my heritage, or reminds me of my "Gegi". This is my number one favorite store in the Pike Place Market. I also always make a stop in here everytime I visit. My mother bought a beautiful hand sewn tablecloth from here. Their dishes are, in one word, amazing. Completely hand painted works of art. Pricey $$$$, but seriously, if I had it, I could blow a lot of money in this store. I would get a complete dish set for 12 people in a blue and yellow star pattern that I absolutely love! Anyone who knows me knows that I am star -crazy. The people here are super sweet and they are Polish themselves. A very interesting stop in the market and a wonderful place to get a gift for someone special. read more

I actually do not have much to say about the products sold at this store because I was only in the store for two minutes with my children when the store clerk basically shooed us out because I had my 3 1/2 year old with me. She came up to me and told me if anything was broken I had to pay for it, in an extremely rude fashion. At that point I told my kids that we were out. It was a nice find in the Pike Place. We were walking amongst the shop swhen I spotted this nice, cozy shop. My girlfriend is Polish so she took the opportunity to grab some Made-in-Poland products and send them home to her family. Ceramics are great. Soup mixes and other cooking mixes are awesome (and in Polish). Everything is a tad pricey but most of these items are imported straight from Poland and give you a sense of pride when you purchase them. A plus -- they accepted AMEX and shipped it tax-free to my home state NH. read more

This is THE place in Seattle to buy Polish pottery if you are a collector! The friendly Polish staff, the HUGE selection of Polish pottery in every style and pattern you can imagine. Located in the Pike Place Market it has very little else but PP but also does carry some linens, metal items and cute kitchen decor and like I said, the staff is just so friendly that you will truly enjoy your visit. The prices may be slightly higher than you would find online but for that subtle price increase you get the ability to see in person all the size and color variations, a huge selection and the great shopping enviornment, well worth a little extra! read more

The service was fantastic - very helpful and knowledgeable people. The selection was AMAZING - every pattern, shape, and size imaginable. There are several places in and around Seattle were a decent selection of Polish ceramics can be found but, this one has the best selection. Baking, serving, dishes, pretty much everything. They have a broad variety of patterns so, putting together a set might be a bit of a challenge. I assume they will special order, though. read more

So my friend and I were wandering the market and found this place. It is amazing, absolutely breathtaking to walk inside and see so much beauty. The prices are a little high, but for handmade treasures I guess that's to be expected. I see some reviews here that are negative regarding the customer serivce. I must admit, when we walked in we weren't greeted or anything, and I had a feeling the lady must have to keep a close eye on her customers in the event that anything is accidentally broken. I understand why she'd be wary of children - I'm in my 20s and still thought I might knock something over! It's crowded, so watch your purse, your jacket, literally anything that dangles off you that might brush something to the ground. This is the type of store that my mother would not have allowed me into when I was young. With that being said, I purchased several items and was very pleased with the interaction I had with the lady behind the counter (short grey hair, glasses, accent of some kind). I am not from Seattle and was worried how these things would fit into my luggage - well, she made shipping extremely easy for me right from the store. Not only that, but she was happy to ship to two different addresses (one was a Mother's day present for my mom). I received my package maybe 4 days later, back in Arizona, and it was packed with SUCH care. You could tell she really thought about how to fit everything in the box with the most padding around the fragile pottery. Everything arrived in one piece (thank God!) and the pieces are beautiful. This was an absolutely amazing store for a Polish pottery fan to visit! The selection is vast. My partner and I were actually overwhelmed at the selection. It was hard to find as it's under the main shopping area and my phone kept leading us up the street for some reason. We finally followed the directions on the website and found it. The owner was super friendly and nice. She explained various patterns and wanted to help us pick out things that appealed to us which we appreciated it. We ended up getting several items including a pottery horse, a spoon, an apple bowl and my favorite, a heart bowl which I'm now using for precious jewelry. Better yet, she was able to ship everything to our home address so we didn't have to risk breaking it on the way home in our luggage. That was more than reasonable and it arrived less than a week later, packed safely with no damage. If you love Polish pottery then you simply must visit. I wish we could go back, I'd say just to browse but if you're a fan then there's no way you walk away without purchasing something! read more

I was just in this store today and had a very weird experience. We were shopping and had walked through about half of the store. I had already mentally picked out birthday and christmas gifts for several people. We heard a crash of breaking glass and looked up. There was an older couple near the front of the store also looking around. They were near but not right next to where the glass had broken. The woman working in the store went over and confronted the couple. They said that they had not knocked the glass on the floor (I believe them.) The woman continued to blame them. Not wanting to patronize a place that treated customers this way, we left. Right after we walked out, the woman barred the door, blocking people from entering or exiting. Why she did this, I am not sure. Was she tryng to force the couple to pay for the broken item? Or closing up temporarily so she could safely clean up the glass? We did not stick around to find out. read more
