On my way to visit Volunteer Park, Interlaken Park and the Japanese Garden, I happened upon this adorable Japanese gift shop run by a sweet woman who was an architect in a prior life. Everything in the store is high quality and oh-so-lovely, I wish I could buy everything. The detail on every item from the traditional linen clothing to shoulder bags, to dish ware, a book on treehouses, the watches, jewelry and miniature origami folded inside a miniature glass bottles are so exquisite down to the final detail. I bought a unique, colorful Taki watch as well as some souvenirs for my family. Do yourself a favor and stop by the Japanese Garden afterwards to feed the koi next to the zigzag bridge for a perfect afternoon. Maybe you'll get a surprise visit by the resident heron as gift.

Discover a plentitude of thoughtful, desirous possessions.

This is the original Kobo location, the more intimate and charming of the two; holding its own in the ever-vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood. This family-owned business is hosted by the sweetest proprietors and staff who clearly are obsessed with the minutiae of detail, art, and form. Eclectic, yet intrinsically familiar, the shop is layered with discoveries waiting for your review. Whether you leave behind remuneration or not, a sacred gift will be with you as you leave this place for all the wonder and possibilities that can be found in sometimes small, unassuming packages.

This is a gem, the lady is so nice and they have so many interesting pieces here. If only every store was as unique.

It's similar to a vinyl record shop where everything is in bins and you shift through them to see what's available. I love movies and found a number of movie posters in different sizes and from different eras. Classics that I grew up with and classics my grandparents grew up with. Really cool! My other half found a number of old maps. Maps where parts of the world hadn't been discovered at the time. They also have old pictures of famous landmarks. I ended up buying an old picture of Pikes Place. Very interesting place. If you're looking for a unique way to decorate or something for a collection, I'd give this place a look.

Some things were cheap some were a little more pricey just depends on what you're comfortable spending. A lot of things to choose from all very unique and vintage I love it! But as for custom service the man running the place (I'm assuming) was not rude he just didn't say anything I was like "hi" I said thank you and was trying to be friendly but he was very quiet and almost tuning me out in a way. Other than that you should check this place out if your looking for nice vintage posters, cards and other artwork

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the wonderful staff. The store is a dream, everything is thoughtfully color-coordinated, making it a feast for the eyes. There's truly something for everyone, and it's the perfect one-stop shop for creating a thoughtful gift basket. I could have easily spent hours browsing the unique selection, but my husband was eager to get to our next destination. We were visiting from out of town the first time we stopped in, but now it is a go to spot, even if it's just to check out what they have put out recently! If you're in Seattle, this store is an absolute must-visit!

Went here a couple of days ago and had a horrible experience…read more I went on a sunny day, and couldn't see through the window very well. I looked at the sign and it said they were open but I didn't see anyone inside. There's a buzzer out the door and I went and pressed it. No one came so I pressed it one more time. At this point, I saw movement and was buzzed in. Once in, I felt the sales associate staring at me. It was only me and her and I felt quite awkward. I couldn't figure out if I had something on my face or my shirt was on backwards. Finally, the sales associate sternly says "you know, we can hear the buzzer from back there. You do not need to buzz us so many times." I was appalled. I had never been stared at or talked to so rudely. I kindly said "Oh! Sorry. I didn't see anyone inside so I wasn't sure if you could hear me." She didn't respond to that and thankfully another customer came in. I promptly left and will be taking my money elsewhere. It's a bummer as I used to be a loyal shopper and love to support small businesses. As a veteran of customer service, I understand how demanding said job can be, but it doesn't merit being rude to customers.
