Broken mug purchased from Watson Kennedy.

I visited this specific location on Saturday, November 27th. During my visit, I purchased a coffee mug and requested to have it bubble wrapped for shipping. The store clerk obliged and I left the store. I arrived at my hotel and unwrapped the mug to find the handle was broken. I contacted the store and left 2 voicemails including one post on Facebook and messenger. Hoping to hear back soon.

    Very nice but very expensive

If you need to get a gift or get a few odds and ends this places has a lot of unique items. From soap to lamps. My hotel was a few doors down and I was able to find a bath bomb and some cute glasses that I didn't need lol. The only catch about this store is its VERY expensive! So if you have lots of money To spend then ball out

As impressed as I was by the Watson & Kennedy Pike Place location, the downtown location is even better. Much of the "fine living" merchandise is the same (vintage and new alphabet letters, ribbons, luxury soaps, candles, perfume, jewelry, notebooks, greeting cards, laundry detergent) but there's more of it. And this location has gourmet food products (fleur de sel caramels, preserves, cookies, Marie Belle drinking chocolate, olive oil) and tableware. I also spied a sale area (didn't see that at the other location). The sale area had Diptyque candles for 50% off. I loved the surprise balls that they put together ($20). A random assortment of Watson & Kennedy trinkets (e.g., seashells, buttons, keys, flowers, champagne cork) is wrapped in layers of colorful crepe paper. Overpriced? Yes, but the presentation is charming.

I don't usually check these kind of shops out, and haven't in a while, but it was different and a fun experience. Always nice to just to get out there and see different, new and unique things and just taking that in - no questions asked.

I especially like being able to get brands like Diptyque, Bon Parfumeur, Votivo, and Elizabeth W without having to go to a big chain department store.

It's similar to a vinyl record shop where everything is in bins and you shift through them to see what's available. I love movies and found a number of movie posters in different sizes and from different eras. Classics that I grew up with and classics my grandparents grew up with. Really cool! My other half found a number of old maps. Maps where parts of the world hadn't been discovered at the time. They also have old pictures of famous landmarks. I ended up buying an old picture of Pikes Place. Very interesting place. If you're looking for a unique way to decorate or something for a collection, I'd give this place a look.

Some things were cheap some were a little more pricey just depends on what you're comfortable spending. A lot of things to choose from all very unique and vintage I love it! But as for custom service the man running the place (I'm assuming) was not rude he just didn't say anything I was like "hi" I said thank you and was trying to be friendly but he was very quiet and almost tuning me out in a way. Other than that you should check this place out if your looking for nice vintage posters, cards and other artwork

I…read moream one of those people who calls it Higo, before I will remember it is in fact Kobo now. Higo is the original shop owned and run by the Murakami family. This is one of the few businesses that survived the Executive Order 9066 written in 1942 with thanks to the non-Japanese friends of the family who owned businesses in the same building. Today, Kobo represents a new generation of local artists, selling gift items, crafts, tees, books, art, jewelry, and much more at varying level of prices. I highly recommend Kobo when shopping for unique gifts. When I recently visited, they had a glass artwork on display, art gallery style. It was also the yearly Nihonmachi celebration, and they had a table outside with an artist painting one of three designs on classic Japanese windchimes. I was thrilled to buy one of these adorable windchimes commonly featured in anime including Studio Ghibli movies. My mother picked up a really fun t-shirt from KOBO, and I found various gifts - including the Mari Ichimasu (a Seattle-based Japanese artist who works in stop-motion animation, painting, and drawing) book "Fur Coats & Backpacks", which includes the art of her collection of traveling cats & an accompanying poem for each cat. The perfect gift for my feline-loving friends. The staff were happy to let you browse through the store, and you can tell that they work to include items from the local art and design community while also carrying items with wider appeal. The prices may be a bit high? But I was less concerned with the cost of the items than I was on finding quality gifts - and KOBO has those in spades. I'd certainly recommend a visit.
