I was curious about the Fiestaware colors they carried (if they had pre-86 Rose) since they appeared to carry retired items as well but didn't especially want to linger in the space. The staff alone make this place feel welcoming with zero pretentiousness. Really just a fun place to shop if you're into cooking or like poking around for nice kitchen toys. I was able to check out their Le Creuset section as well as their olivewood accessories (they also had Le Creuset in their clearance section) and check out what differences they had from my local California store. Their colanders section was fantastic and I loved that they had smaller versions for single serving meals. The service was friendly and helpful and I would absolutely return!

They had some that were reasonable priced and some definitely on the higher end. Unfortunately we were traveling only with carry-one so we couldn't purchase any. The show is broadcasted on KIRO radio and streamed on YouTube. You can also listen on a podcast. It is filmed in the industrial kitchen at the Hot Stove Society Cooking School in downtown Seattle. The best part for us is that we learned you can buy tickets to attend a taping of the show and it includes a freshly made breakfast. We immediately signed up and attended the one this past Tuesday. It was so much fun as we were treated to freshly made sticky buns, Shakshuka and Greek yogurt with granola. All of the food was delicious. The show being recorded was also fascinating to watch with lots of behind the scene activity capturing our attention. The guests on the show were informative and entertaining and some door prizes were given away to some audience members. After the taping, we got to take photos and talk with Tom, his staff and the guests. We really enjoyed ourselves and were well taken care of (and well fed!) by the staff. I recommend attending one of these shows for a great behind the scenes look and informative discussions about food and cooking from some local experts.

I was not prepared for the steep charge for the drink when we were getting ready to leave at the end. Had I known in advance, I certainly would have politely declined the offer. It just really left a bad taste in my mouth which took away from what was otherwise a great experience.

Long story short, this woman needs a reality check and attitude adjustment because it's clear she feels like she is above others and her behavior was not only unwarranted -and unprofessional, but honestly confusing as I don't understand what made her treat me like trash but I hope whoever usually mans the store is a nicer human because they had a ton of cool stuff in there; unfortunately much of which I was unable to even look at due to this woman literally forcing me to leave by trying to ring up everything I placed on the counter and then continue to ask if I'm "done" etc to get me to leave. Honestly, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect going in, I've been to the average kitchen gallery display from home improvement expositions, to the local Ikea, but THIS was different.... The models range from Pure, Urban, and Classic designs, which many come from Germany . The plethora of designs take you to a new world, from stovetop overhead fans that elevate, ovens that speak, and swing open, to cookware pantries just below the flat top stoves.... I could list so many more, but I would highly recommend that you experience this for yourselves. If you are in the market for an incredible kitchen update, and your looking for something that will impress your family, your friends, but mostly yourself... PLEASE do not neglect this place. Selling my condo so had to update both kitchen, bath and separate vanity cabinets and countertops…read more I went to all the usual companies for quotes (Sanyuan, GS, A1, Pius etc) and made a crazy spreadsheet comparing them. 1st Ave came in second cheapest (GS was the cheapest). I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.
