If you're local and want in person side by side color views of Fiestaware this is your shop. I stopped in and was surprised at how jam packed everything was. It's the epitome of clutter - a bit unpleasant to navigate and there's a bit of a smell that made me not want to venture farther into the store. The front desk person was wearing headphones and didn't respond when I greeted him, through he finally noticed me and took them off to say good morning. I was curious about the Fiestaware colors they carried (if they had pre-86 Rose) since they appeared to carry retired items as well but didn't especially want to linger in the space. Overall, they could do with a strong air purifier and cutting down their shelved stock so it's more manageable to view. read more

Do you ever think, I don't need anything for the kitchen... but it's nice to look? Yeah- that's me, but I usually end up buying something! In this case- I bought a hand pie press to make empanadas at home and a kitty cat teaspoon. Yup- a cat spoon, that's what I had to have. And that sums it up nicely, everything from cat spoons to empanada hand pie presses and everything in between! At least both items are light for the return trip home! read more

This shop, on the first floor of the Sanitary building, has literally every kitchen widget you can imagine! They have multiple implements for slicing fruit of every kind. They also have an extensive fiestaware selection including a wall sign that outlines when the different colors were discontinued. Had I not been traveling from out of town with only a carry-on I could have done some real damage in there. The proprietor had an amazing sense of humor and was able to put his hand on anything you ask for. Be sure to stop there for any random culinary need you might have! read more

I love coming here every time I am around the area. Love the different and unique items they sell. The prices are a bit high compared to other shops around but you will be happy because of the quality of each product. Got a few items in my previous visits but my recent one was basically browsing. Will recommend this place to anyone who's looking for gifts and for stuff to use at home. read more

The roommate and I were walking around Pike Place on Tuesday, January 19th and decided to check this place out. They have a lot of random kitchen supplies. So random in fact, that the roommate ended up buying a Luchador bottle opener. His friend is a huge wrestling fan, so we figured this would be a great gift for him. I'm not sure if I'd call this shop Kitchen Basics. It has a lot of random kitchen supplies, but I wouldn't exactly call most of their items basic. The store is pretty unorganized and cluttered. There is some sense in the chaos as all the bottle openers were together, but you can't really find anything without just roaming around. Super random shop, but at least we found a good souvenir. read more

One of my favorite stores in America. Their selection of Fiesta is unparalleled on the west coast. I always find unique pieces to add to my absurdly large collection. In addition to their giant Fiesta selection, they carry an array of interesting and unusual kitchen gadgets. It's always an expensive visit but I always leave with a Cheshire Cat smile. read more

I'm giving this 5 stars because the story is nuts and has nothing at all to do with the champagne saber I was looking for. I walk in, the guy at the front counter grabs (hard) my jacket and starts fondling it. Guy: "What a wonderful jacket..." Zakk: "uh, thanks. got it in BC" Guy: "Capricorn?" Zakk: "what!?" Guy: "Taurus?" Zakk: *blank stare* Guy: "You're really not a Capricorn?" Zakk: "Pisces" Guy: "Really...what time were you born?" Zakk: "what?" Then I get a lecture on what the time of day you were born has more to do with your sign than anything else, all this other crap as well. It was totally nucking futs, and the wife and I still laugh like school kids when we tell this story. Still no champagne saber, either. read more

Despite three unoccupied salespeople at the cash register, if you wanted some customer service, you had to ask for it - they didn't acknowledge me or any of the other customers who walked in while I was there unless the customer approached them with a question. 2. There's a wide assortment of kitchen and house ware items ranging from junk to pricey ($100+ for a large, black, ceramic tea pot. No thanks). However, selection in types/brands of each implement is extremely limited. 3. The store is so cramped and jam-packed, you probably wouldn't find anything right away without asking for help. 4. I didn't see anything here I couldn't get at another house wares supply store for likely equivalent prices and minus the hassle of cramped spaces and tourists. read more

This place is crazy and random and great, and you will find the bizarre kitchen gadget of your dreams here, I guarantee it. Need a melamine plastic spoon just like the one your mom had in the 1980's? Yes, they have it. Need some specialty fondue equipment? They have it. Need twenty kinds of iron teapots? They have it. I don't typically write negative reviews, but since this business is in a high tourist area, I would like to warn other potential patrons. My husband and I had a starter set of fiesta ware from our wedding. We have been looking all over for a few pieces in some of the retired colors. We recently moved to the area and have been in the store several times and were excited to see the selection of fiesta ware product. My husband bought a small plate in a retired color for Christmas, but unfortunately it didn't match our set. We attempted to return the plate and exchange it for a more expensive platter in a non-retired color. Even though we could buy the platter at numerous other retailers we wanted to exchange the items just to support a local business. After explaining the situation to the sales person, she informed us that she has taken returns back incorrectly in the past and now has to call the owner for all returns. Even though there is no indication of the return policy on the receipt she informed us that returns are only valid within 30 days and it was 60 days from the original sale. She called the owner and he said no to the exchange. In a day and age when customer service is what makes local businesses shine over internet realtors, it was very disappointing to see such poor customer service. Unfortunately we will now have to go online and to the major retailers to continue building our collection. read more

This store is a little hidden gem amongst all the rest of stores found in Seattle's Pike Place Market. It is a bit on the small side, yet filled to the brim with great kitchen stuff. Whether you're looking for a gurgle pot, Fiestaware or something to store half a banana in they have it!! I'm not sure what some of the other reviews are all about but I received great service last week and went home with new knives. I was visiting Seattle with my daughter, her first time staying in the city, and walking through Pikes Market. Stopped in this shop because I love Fiestaware and saw all the selection, which was awesome. No, the sales associates don't offer any assistance, no acknowledgement, nothing. I'm in retail, I know the value of making our guests feel welcome, opportunity missed on their parts. I picked out several pieces, including a teapot in a retired color. It was rung up, $140. After leaving, I realized I should have shown my Oregon id to avoid the sales tax, would have saved $14. Went right back and they refused to re-ring my purchase. Lame excuses, I do know it can be done but they were not willing to do it. It's too bad because I had told my daughter that she and my son could buy from this store for future b-day, m-day, Christmas present for me. They lost at least 3 customers. I guess they don't care. Too many tourists coming through the door each day, they don't have put forth any customer service effort at all. Anyway, if you don't care about attitude, they have a great selection of Fiestaware. read more

I too felt ignored when I walked into this shop, but was so captivated by the Fiesta ware, I couldn't help myself from hanging around. Once I began asking questions, the reluctant shop owners slowly began offering information, which then turned into real customer service. In the end, they both turned out to be quite nice, and I bought a batch of Fiesta stuff and had it shipped home. The first time I went in, by the way, I ran into the young woman with the long dark hair who was very friendly and immediately asked me if I needed anything. Just wanted to chime in here when I saw the negative reviews because I ended up really loving this shop. Even with the initial bad customer service on my second visit, they have so many fun things there it was still a really fun experience for me. read more
