Me H.

Cute little kitchen store in Madison Park, it reminds me of a little sister to City Kitchens downtown, but not really plus they aren't related. You name it they'll have at least one type of what you're looking for, but if you can't find it good luck getting someone to help you. I've walked around the store many times and have never had a sales person ask me if I needed any help. Sometimes this is a good thing other times when you're looking for something specific it can be a bad thing. One really funny thing is with it being right next door to Cactus, you can hear the drunken loud people in here while you're shopping for cooking gadgets. It's a bit startling at first than funny once you realize where the loud obnoxious people are coming from.

The prices are very competitive with say, Sur La Table or Williams-Sonoma.

I decided to go with 1st Ave because they were very responsive on the phone and email, and they were able to do the work faster than GS. I also really liked that the people at 1st Ave weren't pushy like at they were at some of the other companies. They came though with all they promised to do - called me when they were on the way to the job site, installed everything so all cabinets and drawers lined up and worked flawlessly, cut the quartz offsite and came back to install countertops, and cleaned up after themselves. I have been recommending them to friends and neighbours, and I would most definitely use them again.

Despite being very clear that I would not need my plumbing fixtures until mid-December, I've been hounded to take delivery weeks in advance. I even added more product to my order in attempts to get more time. There's zero flexibility or understanding, even though this was discussed with the sales rep Wil up front. To make matters worse, their communication on appliance purchases has been painfully slow -- a few weeks, to get even basic appointment schedule. I ended up going elsewhere and I am so glad I did. For a company positioned as a premium home supplier, their responsiveness and customer service have been anything but. The showroom is nice and their products are solid, which is why I'm giving two stars instead of one. But the lack of professionalism, pushy delivery policies, and poor follow-through have made me regret choosing them for this project. I'll be looking elsewhere next time.

Nobody is walking into Williams Sonoma expecting budget shopping. But if you're looking to treat yourself, this is a great place to do it. What I really love though is the clearance section. They mark things down for the smallest imperfections sometimes, and that is exactly the kind of chaos I support. I've found some ridiculously good deals there, including a Stanley Tucci pan and a matching KitchenAid mixer for nearly $150 off. Not only that, but the staff are super nice, helpful, and easy to talk to, which makes the whole experience even better. Shout out to Judith, who helped me and was especially awesome. If you like nice kitchen toys but also love the thrill of finding a deal, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

I learned about it days later when I was checking on the shipping. Customer service was zero help. I called this location to see if they had 7 of the Breville Sear & Press Grills in stock for me to pick up the next day. They told me they had 5. I said that was good and would work with another location for the rest. I worked with Kristen who was super helpful and kind. I told her I'm disabled and wouldn't be able to schlep all of these to/from the car, which is why I had placed the online order. She explained that after I went into the store and paid, their loading team would be able to load up my car. I received a call the next day from another rep that they got additional inventory and now had 7 total to save me a trip driving to another location. Yay! The day of pick up, the cashier and the three people at the loading dock were all friendly and helpful. They also rearranged my items in my trunk to make room for the grills without me having to ask. My team was excited to get their gift, as this was a business gift of gratitude. I'm glad I didn't have to change plans. Used the restroom which was clean and stocked. The store overall is well thought out and was organized and stocked, even though they were very busy. Their "line starts here" sign isn't clear. Saw several customers going to the counter which has 2 registers and an internal computer (which some clueless customers also thought was a register) instead of going to the start of the line which is 10 feet away from the registers.

Sophie, the manager at the very nice Pius Tacoma showroom and our only contact in dealing with our project, was very helpful in all aspects of selecting the granite stone. A trip to the Pius warehouse in Seattle 's SoDo neighborhood near Century Link Stadium showed quite an impressive operation as we selected our stone panels. The installers did an amazing job of measurement, stone cutting, and tight fitting installation - but that is when things began to go wrong. Pius has great prices but be forewarned, they only install and are not responsible for anything other than putting the countertops in. You are responsible for tearing out your old countertops and preparing your home with floor coverings to protect from dirt and dust. That's OK as they made it clear that is how they operate. And there is a lot of dust from cutting the countertops in your driveway or front yard that they "try" to clean up "as best they can". Our problem and deep disappointment and let-down was their refusal to address the inadequate final cleaning of the countertops. The installers left a residue of fine dust and a thin film of glue that blemished the luster of the countertops. The head installer did wipe down the countertops with acetone but never changed rags and left a covering of dust and film. We asked him about it as he finished, and he said we "could use Windex for a final cleaning". OUR MISTAKE - We should have insisted right then that he redo his cleaning to remove the dust and film because as we found out after he left, our attempts with Windex did not remove the thin film of glue on the countertops. We emailed Sophie detailed pictures and videos of the blemished countertops along with observations proving this was dust and a film of glue that should have been removed by their installers. And we asked her to send someone to inspect and fully clean the countertops. Additionally, a 3rd party contractor we used to remove the old countertops who is a contractor Pius routinely works with also told Sophie the countertops were not properly cleaned. To all this, Sophie never called to clarify our comments and instead emailed a response that what we were seeing were "normal stone defects" they could not take out. Her comment was totally false! We researched cleaning products and to our great relief, we were able to clean the dust and film from the countertops to our full satisfaction. However, the blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and owning up for something they were responsible to handle soured us from doing further business we were planning to do in remodeling our kitchen. We will never use Pius Kitchen and Bath again and don't care how good their prices might be. If you still decide to use Pius, be sure to observe and carefully inspect the final cleaning and insist the installers fully clean your new countertops to the same luster you see in their showroom.
