It reminds me a little of Muji with its simplicity. I must confess I got overwhelmed by the huge selection. The things are not cheap but not terribly expensive either. I did pick up a hanger meant for tank tops or camisoles. Hopefully that will help me cut down the numerous hangers in my closet. I like the compact accordion clothes dryer as it seems to take up less space. Important for tiny condo living. Maybe I will get it on my next visit. read more

I don't get how this store is in business- they're extremely overpriced. They're selling the same baskets you could find at homegoods for literally 3x the price. that's OUTRAGEOUS. I really appreciate the efficiency this location offers, I placed my order on a Thursday and it was available to be picked up the next day. If you live in an area where a store front is close by, definitely choose the option to pick your order up. The same item I ordered on May 5th was on back ordered for 2 months, and once it became available I was notified via email my order was dropped I attempted to call customer service three times (it was a nightmare because no person ever answered.) Choices. Choices. Too Many Choices. Like its moniker indicates, this place sells containers. But also other household stuff to get your home organized. Though, I don't think The Home Organizer Store has the same ring to it does it? The Container Store and Crate & Barrel are essentially next to each other making them a 1-2 stop to sprucing your place for the better. I was doing some kitchen reorganization. Particularly when it comes to getting some jars or containers to house my loose leaf teas and spices. Cause you know half the battle with retention is maintaining freshness. Plastic bags just do not suffice. The thing that the store does the best is that they have a massive selection to choose from. Unfortunately, the signage is poor in regards to the pros and cons of each product. When I was looking for tea and spice container/jars here, numerous thoughts came up for me about what could be improved in regards to store experience. I would like to have seen some more product descriptions. Some of the products have little pamphlets inside about the item, but I am looking for signage particularly if they are airtight or what items a product can store best. I think a kiosk or price scanner with details about the product could be helpful. As for whether if I asked for help, I did not. But it seemed like most of the store employees were in another area of the store helping someone else already. If I had not been set on finding something that day, I would probably not have bought anything at all simply because of a lack of info to make a knowledgeable purchase. I like the selection here, but I hate the fact that there are so many options that it takes a while to whittle down what I want for something as menial as finding an airtight spice jar. An OCD nerd's paradise, The Container Store has everything one could desire for organizing the home, office, and garage. They also have a gift wrapping aisle, miscellaneous tools and luggage. Employees are friendly and helpful while not being pushy. I recently moved and wanted to look at some items for my home office. While I didn't find anything colorful enough for my taste, I like this store and will come back. Free parking if you park at Bellevue Square and walk over or if you park at Lincoln Square on Saturday or Sunday or come by late during the week. Amazing manager!! I live in Portland, Oregon and was searching for more of a product/basket that I have in my home and use to organize kids toys. They were sold out online and in my local store, but some were showing available in Washington. I called the store like a complete neurotic Karen to ask if I could possibly buy them over the phone before maybe driving all the way to Seattle to get them. The manager Carrie entertained my neuroticism without judgment and then actually was able to see that they were on backorder. She offered to help me order them over the phone and have them shipped to my house free of charge. !!! This kind of customer service is what keeps me coming back to the Container Store first well before other stores like Home Depot, Target, or Walmart. Thank you, thank you, thank you. From the tiniest little clear glass boxes to gigantic coffin-sized plastic totes and everything in between, this place has got it all. The store is very well-organized into sections for all of your needs - so if you're reorganizing your office vs. reorganizing your kitchen you will easily find what you need, in every conceivable shape, size, and color. They also have an amazing closet design section - so amazing, in fact, that I feel inadequate just stepping into it! The only problem is this place ain't cheap. You are paying a premium for things you could easily find elsewhere for a smaller price; however you will not find nearly the selection at another store. I've been a long-time fan of their Houston stores, specifically their Galleria location and when we moved to Seattle, I sought out their store for things like new hangers and dish racks that I couldn't find at Target. The staff is VERY helpful and friendly. I once came in to purchase some items that were a little difficult to manage. Without any hesitation, a staffer said if I was done shopping, she'd walk me to my car in the garage. I tried to protest but gave in after realising I couldn't really carry the two oversized items plus walk with a cane. Parking is simple, there's a huge parking garage. I've never been during a time when validation was an issue but take your ticket with you just in case. My only wish was that they had a location on the west side, maybe Alderwood or Southcentre. And easily drew me in to inspect their wares. The selection is impressive. As an example, take coat hangers. While most stores believe that a few types may suffice, the Container Store has walls of them. Different colors. Plastic. Wood. Metal. Smaller hangers for kids. Probably even for aliens too. There are some obvious inventory selections here. It's no surprise to find small containers or shelves, even an aisle of waste cans makes sense (it is a container for junk, after all). But there's also a selection of items to help store your items in the containers. How about a giant reel of bubble wrap? Or even several giant wheels of different types of bubble wrap? Yes, they are here. I even enjoyed finding a subsection dedicated to chinese food take out boxes. I hadn't considered that you'd actually go shopping for such things, but my mistake has been corrected. You can get a huge variety here, even in fuchsia, if you so desire. read more

Not the review I thought I was going to be leaving but the one they have presents me with. Let me just start with, I usually love this store. The concept, product and usual service I got was always 4 starts and above. Unfortunately the last couple times and more specifically this last time I tried to order/ purchased, the service was not only subpar, but conflicting. I started off online trying to order an item to be picked up. I was trying to be respectful and limit my interactions with strangers due to this Covid crap. Got to the end and for curb side pick up it was giving me a date of the 18th.... 11 days from now! I thought there might be a glitch so I called the store and got a young female on the phone. I explained what I wanted and told her I had tried to order on line and the problem. She said, oh yes, we don't have enough help to pull everything everyone wants so we are out up to 3 weeks out....I responded "for curb side pick up? Thinking I just have heard wrong. She replied "yes". So I then ask, do you have the item in stock. She says yes. I ask can I pay for it over the phone and have my son come in and pick it up today. She says no, we can't take payment over the phone. I ask can you pull the item aside for me so my son can come get it. She says no, we don't have the man power to do that. At this point I am seriously struggling with the lack of anything even remotely resembling customer service, so clarify by saying, "so what your saying is if my son drives up from Des moins and someone walks in and buys the 3 remaining ones before he can get there we have wasted a trip because you won't hold it for us? Long silence followed by "we can't hold it for you". She offered NO options to help us. So I sent my son it to get what I needed. He stood in line for 25 min while the ringer worked on one client and didn't know what she was doing. Other employees were in the store moving carts ( not sure how that is a priority when you have people in line for 25 min) and a couple appeared to have a decent hussle helping customers. Over all it would appear that managements needs to get things moving and teach not only some advanced customer service ( this is Bellevue) but some basic ringing skills so customers whom Do come into the store don't have to spend an unnecessary amount of time out in public, since you can't accommodate curbside pick up for weeks on end... Oh, and the tellers were Still promoting curb side pick up to people whom were getting rung up but neglecting to inform them of the 2-4 week waiting period...unbelievable. read more

Customer service is non existent then when checking out the lady starts taking glass items and a small mirror and throw it in the bag with all the plastic things in a huge bag so they can clank around. When asked if you could back it separately or wrap the food so they don't break.... "so sorry we don't have tissue paper"... I would have expect better customer service out of a place like this it's not like you're shopping at Goodwill or Walmart but that's about the customer service level your getting at this location in Bellevue. Plastic ones, metal ones, wood ones, solid ones, mesh ones, boxes, stackables, hinged, unhinged, mirrored, hanging, folding, sentient... you get the idea. Bubba from Forrest Gump would be proud. The Container Store and I have an unspoken bond... A love that spans years, lifetimes even. The Container Store gives one so much more than product; It gives shape to environment. Identity, even. A sense of control in a world of chaos. (Is even a false sense of control not a sense of control? I, for one, submit the affirmative.) The important thing is, though, that there's the drive-up pick-up (where you pick up the vast amounts of stuff you just bought) for my lazy self. Ahhhhh yesssss... the feeling that every thing has a place and everything in its place. I know I can depend on the order and peace of mind Container Store lends without thought or consideration to where my phone charger, keys, lucky underwear, or ass-kicking shoes went. This store is a dream come true if you've OCD. Or just fantasize of getting your living space in order. Or just like to see various knick knacks that you never knew you needed until you saw them. Stuff to organize your closets? Check. (They even have services to help you decide what you need and to install it all). For your bathroom? Check. Your kitchen? Check. Your office? Check. Your car? Yes! Garage? Definitely. Your purse? Need you ask? Yes, yes and YES. In fact, you might not even REALIZE how much you need this stuff until you visit this store and wander the aisles. And still, I love this store. It is quite expensive, so know that upfront, but they've always a good "sale" area. Last I was there, they had after-Christmas items, including some really great "stocking stuffers" that would make super gifts all year round - at 75% off. And if one wanted to stock up on lovely wrapping papers or gift bags for next XMas, this would be the time and place, as they were selling this stuff for a song. When I used to live just 10 minutes away from a Container Store in the Bay Area, I would just go into the store to wander, look around and convince myself that I really shouldn't pick up anything I didn't really need. The first few times I came to this store it gave me a fierce headache. It's like, OMG, really?, this is the most OCD place I have ever seen! And, to top it off, I starting thinking about "work". House work, or organization. Needless to say, I bought nothing and loathed the Container Store. I have been back a few times to see if I could overcome my "Organization phobia" and after several years, I think I'm finally OK with the container store. I still haven't bought anything as I'm not in to "make work projects", but at least I can now tolerate the store. It wasn't an awful experience, but enough to reduce rating by 1 star. Also, the store is super clean and organized, so finding stuff is pretty straight forward. I wish the Container Store and Bed, Bath and Beyond would merge. Whenever I go into either of these stores, I find hoards of stuff I don't need, but know I'll find useful! Yes, you know that the economy thrives on impulsive shoppers like myself. I'm continually surprised that there are other items aside from storage uses. Take for example, the fridge locker. This crate secures your lunch, drinks, snacks, just about anything from that conniving thief of a coworker. How about a book safe? It conceals your stash of anything you want to hide away in a book titled "The New ENGLISH dictionary". Mind you, it might prick the curiosity of the thief. After all, you might want to know the meaning of Collusion. I'd never heard of that word until recently and thought somehow collision and confusion merged and gave birth. Back on topic - for the woman on the go - Scotch now has wardrobe tape strips. You just don't realize your bra straps are peaking out. Or the hem tape. You've decided your feet can't handle another day of heels, so you throw on your flats and now your pants are too darn long. Travel sale: cutest travel bags. Not the generic black ones. Other stuff on the go: lemon essential oil towelettes, portable bowl for your dog, compostable doggie poop bags Wood water bottles: nice finish and perhaps not appropriate for hikes. You might never find it again since it's camouflaged so nicely in the forest. Either way, I love this store, and you should too so that they don't become history! read more

Pretty poor experience overall. I went to their website and filled out a form for Virtual Closet Design. Someone was supposed to call me back. Crickets... Two weeks later, I called this location and left a message.Someone called me back and set up an appointment for 2 weeks in the future. No email or call to confirm. Day of appointment - no call, no email, nothing. I called the location again, person answering the phone doesn't have any insight into the custom closet group's calendar and keeps putting me on hold to ask them for information. I finally say, "can you just transfer me?" Response, "they're all busy, let me see if they can just make an appointment" I finally talk to someone in custom closets. I have to repeat my name and phone number multiple times. She almost gives me someone else's appointment. They have the same last name but all other information is different. Hmmm... she can't find me in the system at all... Hey I have an idea! Let's start over! My new appointment is next week. I'll provide an update.. read more

I took several of my day to measure, wait in line at the store to set up an elfa system. They took down my number and measurements, and said they were going to call me back THAT week. Come 3 weeks later, they haven't. I know it's COVID and there are delays but this is really poor customer service to not even give a call back! Super annoyed! read more

This review relates to the "curbside" pick up. I have no idea why they even offer this - particularly in the location it is in. Curbside actually means an underground loading dock for the entire high rise. It is full of LARGE delivery trucks and there is no room for anyone. Everyone has to keep moving and maneuvering so that other trucks and vehicles picking up their items can get in and out of the very small space. It is terrible. And while these large trucks are arriving and leaving, you are literally trapped until they go because the entry way to this area is tight as well. And the delivery takes awhile so you do the moving and re-parking thing several times while you wait. I needed elfa components that would have been too big to carry the two floors and 100 yards back to my car had I done in store pick up and you think of curbside as being a thing of ease. It is not. It is ridiculous to ask customers to try to pick up their items here. I would be amazed if anyone did this more than once - it is an ordeal. There must be a better way that involves the parking spots where other merchants do pick ups nearby - outside of the loading dock area. If you're considering curbside pick up here - don't do it. read more
