My partner and I recently purchased a sofa from Urban Interiors & Thomasville in Bellevue. The showroom is big and there are plenty of floor models (this is unusual given the price of floor space in Bellevue), we loved that we didn't have to drive out to Lynwood or down to Renton to look for quality furniture in a large showroom. The staff at this location are nothing short of AMAZING!! They don't rush the customers, they encourage the customer to incorporate their lifestyle into the design concept. The staff have a great eye for design and they can take measurements and even create renderings to show you what your piece will look like integrated into your overall design. It's amazing. The customer service is EXCELLENT! I would like to call out Mary Shattuck, the Showroom Manager, Hannah James, one of their design consultants, and Russell Worley, another of their design consultants, for providing EXCEPTIONAL attention to detail and care in handling customers needs. These people spend time with each customer to ensure that the optional selection is made to integrate into the customer's lifestyle and for the space. There are a lot of different styles and manufacturers to choose from and they have a wide variety of fabrics, colors, and surfaces. I found that this location is super convenient for folks on the East side of town. There is parking under the building that is free on weekends and can be validated if it's during the week. KUDOS to this entire staff and to their amazing management and design team. I would give them SIX stars if I could. They treat their customers with good old-fashioned care and respect. We have engaged interior design services in Seattle, Tumble Creek, Scottsdale and Sun Valley, so we have some knowledge of the industry. Amazing. We enter the store and acknowledged by absolutely nobody. What is sad is that I spent 35K a year and half ago. I am following up, because I am still blown away by how frustrating this furniture purchasing experience was. This has been an ordeal from the day we purchased our chair and ottoman in the store. I didn't think that at first, but as the process drug on, things did not get better. They got worse. * The salesman did not seem to have made a sale before. The purchase took a long time. He had to ask several times for help and we waited around while he sought help. He got it complete. I chose to pick up from the warehouse, since we live close by. We took our paperwork and left. Ultimately, one of his coworkers figured out he gave us the wrong paperwork and had to run out of the store to catch us. * The chair, I was told I could pick it up in June. I made my appointment. Saturday morning 8am. I arrived a bit late. I call the warehouse multiple times. Leave multiple messages. No answer. No response. I finally get someone after 30 minutes or so. He lets me know I am behind the warehouse, not the front. I need to get to a gate at the other end of the parking lot. I get to be where I need to be. I get the access code, open the gate. Pull up to the warehouse. Meet the guy. He says I need to pay. I give him my card. The credit card machine is not working. He calls people for help. No one can get the machine to work. His boss has me leave my card number to run it through on Monday. I get the chair and leave. I assume the late response was due to me being late. I was wrong. * Correspondence regarding status during this process is nonexistent. I have to check in to see what is going on. * The ottoman was supposed to be done in August. It finally ended up being done and able to be picked up in October. * I make my appointment for Saturday 8:30am. I show up on time. I am at the correct entrance. I do not remember the code to get past the gate. I call the warehouse multiple times. Leave multiple messages. No answer. No response. I am not able to get in. Another vehicle pulls up. Punches in the code. I follow them in. I go to the warehouse. Nothing is open. I call. I leave messages. I knock loudly on the door. All several times. Still no response. Finally, after 20 minutes, someone picks up the phone. Same guy from last time, comes and lets me in. I pay the rest of the tab and get the ottoman. When I explain what I had been doing he just said he was in the back and could not hear. Which is fine, but why schedule the appointment then? My wife loves the chair and ottoman. They are good quality. I am glad she found it. However, the ordeal to get it, left a lasting impression. We will not be purchasing from here again. read more

We saw a sign that said the store could deliver quickly, which is the reason we decided to purchase that night. we found a beautiful grey leather sectional and an orange/brown leather couch. As promised it was delivered within a week. The delivery people were very careful and all furniture was delivered without any damage. Worst experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I purchased a small couch for around 3k in Aug2021. They said if we didn't change the fabric we saw at the showroom they would have it delivered by December. That seemed good enough to us since we didn't have a couch. December rolls around and no calls about a delivery or any updates. We finally cal in January and they say maybe February. I don't understand why there wasn't any calls or emails with an update. Then end of January we call and they say it's going to the warehouse and once there we will get a cal for delivery. February now we are told it's still in transit and takes a week. Worst experience with Urban interiors furniture. I bought dining table and entire bedroom set including nightstand and chest. I was very happy with my shopping experience however when the product get delivered I started noticing within first couple of months that the paint from both Dining table and nightstand are chipping off. It was in the middle pandemic so we couldn't do anything. Recently we noticed that the edges of dining table are coming off (I was expecting dining table to be a solid wood) I was surprised that how come solid wood will chip in such way. Then I contacted the store and they send a person from manufacture company. They refused to address the issue completely saying it is water/heat damage on the top. Wrong assessment. There is no way anyone can put water in those area. I doubt Small drip of water can cause such damage. What a waste of money. My ikea furniture from last 5 years are still going strong with same level of usage. I bought solid wood paying premium on these product thinking the quality would be better. We just had one of the best furniture shopping experiences we have ever had. In our 53+ years of marriage, we have purchased a lot of furniture. Sofas have been the most difficult for us. Comfort is king and we have really been burned in the past. We would buy one that looked great, sat great, at first, then over time cushions would break down leaving us with a sofa that was so uncomfortable that we couldn't sit on it for long without our backs hurting. This was not only frustrating but very costly. One of the owners, Al Moscatel, of this long-time, family owned business stepped in to guide us. He took the time to be sure we had the PERFECT piece that would not only look good and stand the test of time but would also fit within our budget. We honestly felt we were important to his him and that he truly meant what he said. He told us it was critically important to him that we be fully satisfied. He succeeded in an over the top manner. We appreciated, not only the quality of the product but the PERSONAL and quality customer service. We must include our thanks to Jennifer, our salesperson, and thank her for her part in the process. Update: talked to the manager today. She agreed for me to cancel the order, as the factory was out of fabric. We have ordered a sofa on 11/11/18. It's a standard order, nothing special. We were told it will arrive in 4-6 weeks. It has not arrived yet (end of January). We were told to expect it at the end of February (14 weeks?!). At this point we decided to just cancel the order. I called the store and they told me we are not allowed to cancel. I called several times, they said they will check it with the designer/manager/whatever and will get back to me. No one called me back. I would just like to cancel the order at this point and it seems like there is no way to do this and no one to talk to. read more

Read the Google reviews before shopping here. I really wish I had. My experience matches so many others... Poor customer service and extremely inaccurate time frame to receive the items purchased. Was originally told we would have our items in 8-10 weeks. Took a total of 12-13 weeks to receive all of our items. There was several unanswered emails and contradicting statements from people we spoke with when we would call for updates on our order. ***They do not let you return anything, no matter how poorly they treat you or how long things take, they do not do refunds. Their fine print states no refunds on "SPECIAL ORDER ITEMS ONLY" but what they do not tell you is that every item is the entire store is categorized as a "special order item", hence zero refunds on anything, no matter how unhappy you are or how poorly they treat their high paying customers. That's a pretty shitty business model and very poor customer service. There is no looking out for customer retention what so ever. We spent 15k and while this isnt that much in the furniture world it was a lot of money for us. We expected much better treatment and a better experience. When the we finally received our items, 2 of them were slightly damaged. I had to schedule someone to come back out 2 weeks later to take pictures of the items instead of my just email them the pictures. who know how that will end, still waiting to hear back. The positive: The manager finally called me after 3 emails to our rep saying I wanted to cancel my order. He did offer a 10% discount on a few items that would have saved us about $130, but we declined and asked for 10% off our entire order and no delivery fee. The manager agreed. I would much rather give my hard earned money to a company that appreciates their customers. Shame on me for not doing my research before shopping here. read more

To be fair, we are happy with the end result of the room we received consultation with and ultimately purchased their recommended furniture. There are, however, serious challenges with their operations, logistics, and ultimately their service once order is placed and 50% monies paid. Ultimately this was a turnoff and we would hesitate doing further business with them. Our advice would be to utilize/pay them for consultation and design but not to depend on them for procuring any furniture. During the 6 months of waiting, chasing/trying to get info, and having an unfurnished room we got the sense this was not abnormal and the Sales and designer folks are not in the solving problems business. To end positively, after an August order we have all furniture, received as of last week, and are happy with the room. read more

My wife and I went in to Urban Interiors & Thomasville looking for a new couch and dining room table. We had never bought anything from a "real" furniture store and were a bit intimidated. The staff at the store were great and just let us browse without feeling followed or judged. We then worked with Jill (who was amazing). She talked with us about what we liked and didn't like and then showed us a couple specific pieces which she thought would fit our personalities. It was like having a curated personal decorator! Jill matched us with a couch that wasn't even in their showroom and an oversized table that we absolutely love! She then helped us pick out the wood, fabrics, and general features of the pieces. This part was a lot of fun! We were even able to bring samples home with us to make sure they worked with the rest of our house. After we placed the order Jill checked in with us every other week to update us on the order status. After a lot of anticipation, our furniture was delivered directly to our house. The crew unloaded everything and even set up the pieces in our house exactly where we wanted. We didn't have to move or assemble anything! They were all super nice, helpful, and overall very professional. We were really impressed with how easy the delivery process was. Overall our first trip to a "real" furniture store was exceptional. We could not have asked for a better experience - low pressure, professional, and they actually listened to what we wanted. Not to mention the furniture itself is beautiful! It's been one year later......I can't say enough about the staff at Urban Interiors and Thomasville, especially Jennifer Hellums, our sales consultant. We purchased a beautiful Elen Degenrese Collection dining room set from the Tukwila location, added an extra set of chairs to round out settings for eight. While speaking with her about our office we took her advice and found two more chairs to use in our office. One year later we we have not only enjoyed using our dining set, but we realized that it has become our daily use table. With that comes wear and tear, but the table is solid as a rock. One day we had an accident and damaged the table top. Yikes! But after contacting Jennifer, who was working recently at the Bellevue Thomasville location, and telling her our story, she remembered us and quickly asked to help remedy our situation. So kindly she asked if she can send out their specialist to look at the slight damage and see if they can repair it for us. Wow! Now that is what I call service. It turned out to be a discontinued design and much to our disappointment the one in the showroom was already sold to another lucky customer. As we made our way home I got a call from Alan telling us he had found one in another store and if we wanted it he could get it delivered to our home and he gave it to us for an exceptional price. Do not shop in this store!!! We ordered expensive custom made couch and it arrived damaged and in the wrong color. Also, it took them 16 weeks to make it and not 8 weeks as was promised to us. 6 weeks ago they picked up the wrong couch and we didn't hear anything from them since then. My husband was trying to reach out to them multiple times, but their managers always on vacation! Finally today, we got a call from the general manager saying that there's nothing wrong with the couch and they are not planning to do anything about the problem. They also don't accept returns! They took our money but didn't deliver the product, it's called stealing! Also, manager told us if we will take them to court we won't win. We didn't even bring up the court, we just wanted the not damaged couch in the correct color that we were waiting for more than 5 months. Be smarter than us and never shop in Thomasville! I had stopped in a week earlier to browse and get some ideas. I returned the following week to purchase a unique coffee table. I contacted Jennifer Hellums, who recognized my from the previous week. I described the coffee table to her, she knew exactly what I was talking about and took me right to piece. Within a few minutes we had closed the deal. Being it was the last one available the team at Urban Interiors polished the floor model up, wrapped it in bubble wrap and loaded it into my car. Despite multiple calls, the designer never got in touch with me and assured me when ordering that I could change my order if needed. In trying to engage the manager Todd in any type of resolution, he flat out refused to help me. The definitely do not have a customer first policy.
