Sold us a "leather" loveseat and sofa combo several years ago. We even bought a leather protection extended warranty. It started peeling after a few years. We went to the store to see if they could refund our money. They claimed they too were duped by the supplier and that it's not actually leather but rather bonded leather. All they offered was a $800 credit. Why would I spend even more money at a store that is so scammy! And even if this wasn't an intentional scam, they clearly don't know real leather from bonded, which for someone in the furniture business is total incompetence. I have been meaning to look into Kasala based on the positive Yelp feedback. Seeing there was a big puka (hole in Hawaiian) to fill in my living room, this was my opportunity to do so. There are several options when it comes to furniture, I could go the el cheapo route called Ikea. The problem being that I found their designs uncreative and choice lacking. The other option was to try the Tukwila furniture row of shops. The issue there being that selection can vary store by store. Seeing that Kasala had their anniversary sale, I decided to give them a shot. Being closer to home, I decided to go to the Bellevue store. The showroom is fairly large and it looked like furniture pieces were well coordinated. The sales people were pretty hands off, offering help if needed. Having looked at the prices of the pieces I was interested in, I was basically reviewing for look and feel before purchase. I settled on two leather chairs and an oak end table which were under $200 each! Overall, the selection here is pretty good with there being multiple options to choose from for each part of your house and the prices are reasonable here. Actually comparable to Ikea based on the sale prices. The one caveat was the delivery fee of $99 which seems a bit steep. Though this is a flat fee, which does not sound so bad if you are buying multiple pieces. You could also pick them up yourself at the Kasala warehouse in Seattle, which I believe is where the outlet location is. Ultimately decided on the delivery service and it was delivered 20 minutes after the delivery window which is great. I had a previous experience with a different furniture store in which the furniture was delivered well outside the window. For the great service, selection and prices, I recommend Kasala. read more

Thank you Kasala for replacing my sofa. I want to give an update on my earlier review. I was contacted by Kasala and they explained me that why my earlier sofa had an issue. Some of their pieces had defect from manufacturer , which they came to know after few complaints. Anyway , they ordered a new sofa for me and replaced my sofa in 2 weeks. They really have some nice pieces at this store. Love the different styles and fabrics. They even have some beautiful art pieces for your wall or table. We were just a bit turned off by their unwillingness to show us around. Just couldn't move their legs or whatever their issue was. Selection and service are differentiators in the furniture business. Kasala nails it on both of these. I see bad reviews from a couple years ago, but maybe management has changed or they took the feedback to heart and changed how they operate. They have a great selection that covers different price points. Some pieces may be of lower quality at a lower price point; like anything, you have to shop smart to balance quality and cost. On the floor, the sales folks were super honest about quality and expected longevity of different pieces. Now the service: truly exceptional. We bought our first electronic adjustable couch from them. Turned out the legs were installed with the wrong style legs in the wrong places. I probably could've fixed it myself easily (just swap legs), but I was concerned at what might happen if I screwed that job up (cross-threaded, stripped, etc.--yeah, it's been known to happen). So, what did they do? They said, "Hey, tell you what. We'll ship you a new one. Deliver it. Install it. Pick up the old one." Fantastic! When that one showed up, they unpacked and assembled it. My wife had a couple concerns about the way it articulated and some things she noticed that were different from the first mode. They sent their tech Jason out to evaluate and solve the problems. He figured out what was up, explained what was going on, tweaked some things to fix, and gave us his direct line if we felt the problem returned or were concerned about anything. Wow. Our experience with other furniture stores has been nowhere near this good. Especially after we've paid in full, we've been left hanging out to dry. My recommendation: don't hesitate to go with Kasala if they have a piece that you like. read more

I will NEVER shop anything from Kasala going forward. I bought a couch for $4k in Sept 1st week and was told it would be delivered by end of Sept. Well, its almost end of Nov and holiday season coming up and I still do not have my couch. Absolutely, zero communication about the delays and I have had to call 5 times in the last few months to figure out the status of my order. There just seems to be no end to this! Every time I call, no one knows what's the status of delivery and keep saying its sitting at Port of Seattle for the last month waiting to clear customs and I should expect the shipment any day. Experience started off not the best. Couch had a flaw and needed to be replaced, despite numerous efforts on my part to facilitate the replacement, nothing came of it. "Why the four star review then" you might be asking? Because of what happened next.... Amber reached out, apologized profusely for the mixup and assured me she'd take care of it right away. Very pricey furniture, but the quality is there. My mother and I came in to purchase a new bed stand. Wish they didn't give us an ability to browse, because our eyes wandered around the store and suddenly we became interested in a new sofa. We browsed right on through and ended with a new bed stand and sofa. The salesperson was very helpful, patient, and friendly even though it appeared to be a very busy weekend. After that... We had to wait 2 months for inventory to arrive. Kind of slow in my opinion. They also charge $100 for delivery fee. Didn't seem like a problem, but the guys were a bit weird. They were nice, but once they went outside to put the furniture together, I overheard them yelling and calling names to each other. I guess they didn't like each other very much. Overall, you'll find many things overpriced there. Single Couches/sofas range from $2,000-3,500. "Fancy clocks" for $100-300. It's much more worth it if you go when they are having a huge sale (we went when they had 50-75% sale. Purchased a great $2000 sofa for $1000!). The 20-30% off they usually have is okay... I like Dania. I like Scan Design. I LOVE Kasala. In fact, if I was able to buy everything in their store I would be happy. If you're into the more modern yet comfortable (DWR and comfort do not go hand in hand) furniture, you gotta check out Kasala. Plus they have fab sales on their fab furniture. You can even "rent" a piece of their furniture and take it home with you before committing to it. Talk about smart. We went through 4 other dining chairs from other stores before smartening up and checking out Kasala where we rented a dining chair right off the show room floor, no assembly nothing. Won't come here again. Stopped by to purchase a lamp I saw from the window, the salesperson happily took my order. In, out, about a 5 minute transaction. Salesperson casually mentioned that the "truck would be by to deliver the lamp on Monday, around noon, we don't do home delivery." No big deal. Kasala is the furniture store for young professionals or people who like modern style. I moved into a new studio that was just too nice to fill with craigslist items. I wanted style, price, size, and quality. My parents came to visit so we wandered all over Bellevue at every furniture store we saw. I pretty much thought I'd have to go with Crate & Barrel, but the prices still seemed a bit steep for me. Then my mom spotted Kasala and, though we were tired, convinced us to go in. Enter Kasala. No paisley to be found! YES! At first, the light fixtures dazzled me. Then the prices shocked me. I was just about ready to walk out when I looked at another price tag...Whoa! This place has affordable furniture too! Yes, One desk I love is a grand and I can't afford it. But the glass console table about the same size with the pretty brown shade glass was only around $169. The prices range so just ask one of the shop keepers for help. Kasala is such a great store because all the pieces look and feel great, but if you shop right you can find something amazing in your price range (so long as your price range starts at Crate & Barrel or nice Target). Then there are the sales. AND the Outlet Store! I got a super comfortable accent chair that goes with the furniture collection I already purchased for $249. If that's "pricey" for you, then you just aren't shopping for furniture at retail prices. You are some kind of Craigslist Wizard. Even Overstock couldn't match this value for that price. As for customer service, I love this place. The sales people may seem stand offish, but it's because they don't heckle you. If you actually need service they are ready to spring into action. Very disappointing. I paid over $800 in April for a coffee table and was told it would be available at the beginning of June, here we are mid way through the month and I haven't heard a word. When I called the man that answered the phone told me it would be end of June or July, I said I was surprised no one had been in touch and he told me that wouldn't be as there was nothing to report - well yes there is you've had my money for over 2 months told me it would be available begining of June and now it is looking like July! When I said that is too long to wait he just took my credit card information to issue a refund. At no stage did this salesperson seem remotely interested in me or my business. We called up kasala couple of times & finally could talk to the customer rep. My wife explained the problem & the Customer service rep was really rude!! We'll end up returning it!! They have the coolest furniture at great prices. I have several pieces from this store. They have more reasonable prices from 10 years ago when they sold $6000 sofas. We found the perfect leather sofa for our family room here during a sale. The customer service was great, they even reduced the sales tax on the delivery when they figured out we don't live in Seattle. Prices and quality is better than West Elm. We decided to visit Kasala after seeing their advertisement on the newspaper repeatedly. Sure enough, their furniture looks very modern and expensive. However, the price tag is not as bad as we thought. We have been looking for a leather sofa but it was really expensive everywhere. Fortunately, Kasala have a leather sofa we like and it was of reasonable price! My husband and I spent a long time in store trying to decide on the items we want. Though it was their crowded sales period, the sales person was very patient with us. We wanted to see how an armchair and the sofa would look together , so they shifted the furniture around to show us. In the end, we bought the 2 items :) Instead of scheduling for delivery, we decided to collect the items from their Seattle warehouse ourselves. This is our first purchase here and we are satisfied with their service & our new furniture.. now let's hope that the quality is good... read more

I got my couch from here recently and I love it!! When my mom first took me here and I walked in and saw the prices, my first reaction was "mom, why did you take me here? I can't afford any of this!!" All the actual furniture was well in the thousands and the knick knacks were pricy for what they were. My mom said she saw that there was a couch on sale and low and behold, there was my 3-seater leather couch marked down from $1100 to $500! Now, $500 is not Ikea or Wal-Mart cheap but for a good quality, expensive looking and feeling couch, it's a great deal! My couch is pieced leather and a deep espresso color. All the pieces in this place are fairly small so they're great for apartments and the backs are not very high but it's still really comfortable! This place is great if you like modern furniture. With sale prices (they have an outlet in SODO too!), it's a nice in-between from Ikea and say, Ethan Allen or Thomasville and I find that in-between market for furniture, the most spare. The service here was decent. It took the guy a while to get to us but then everything was pretty quick. They put the couch on my family's account but then they called my parents with the delivery time the day before. I was sitting around thinking they didn't call! I called back several times and no one picked up and finally, I had to call the SODO outlet and have them look me up. I said "I told them to call my cell," and luckily the next day when they delivered the couch, they did call my cell. The delivery guys were efficient and polite and I am loving my couch. I would totally come back- for now, I'm sticking with the sale pieces, but someday, hopefully I'll graduate and I'd still keep Kasala in mind! read more

I blew my wad at Kasala and oh it felt so good. After browsing all three locations my wife and I committed to 6 living room pieces for $4500. 4 of the 6 were purchased at the Outlet store at significant markdowns (30-80% off initial retail). The other two we ordered out of the Bellevue and downtown Seattle locations after Karen patiently worked with us for a couple hours. We walked in with a hand-sketched floor plan and she walked us thru our options, helping us identify focal points in the room and our true usage purposes. Ended up with a sectional leather couch with chaise end, spinning club lounge chair, permanently reclined reading chair, a separate chaise with matching side table (half-cushioned, half-wood drink and snack top). Obviously I don't know a whole lot about furniture based on my make-em-up-as-you-go descriptions of the above items, but what I do know is that we browsed about 6 other furniture stores and the quality/price ratio here reigned supreme. Also the level of customer service is outstanding. If you spend over $2500 delivery is free, and they will pick up any returns within 30 days free of charge as well. It was fun shopping all 3 locations and adding on items one by one with different sales associates and then consolidating the free delivery into one. Style is modern and tends towards lounge. Lots of leather, wood, and glass, and definitely Scandinavian influence, but not Scandia or Ikea. They have a nice catalog, and rotate pieces quite often. If you stop in the Outlet store every so often, I imagine you will come across some great pieces and deals. For us this was a huge purchase but anticipate years of pleasure ahead. I love modern furniture and decor, so pretty much everything Kasala sells is cool in my opinion. It can be pricey at times, but if you hit the sales you can sometimes get pretty decent deals there. I bought two couches there and I am very happy with the decision. The only reason I wouldn't give it five stars is that we had already purchased the couches and were waiting on delivery when the price was lowered. They didn't automatically credit us the difference or even tell us about it, but they did at least credit us when I brought it up. read more

I've shopped at Bellevue Kasala for many years. Today saw a chair that was the perfect style, price, size. Small enough to take home in the back of my car. The catch? That was the floor model. No additional chairs on site, but some expected to be delivered to the Seattle location in a few weeks. The catch? I could either pay an additional $99 for home delivery, or schlep to Seattle to pick it up whenever it arrived. My getting there during business hours virtually impossible. The salesperson insisted that there was no other way to obtain the chair (no, they couldn't sell the floor model; no, they couldn't have my chair delivered to the eastside store for pick-up). I'm happy to pay for delivery when it's necessary, but unwilling to add another 30% to the price when it isn't. I passed. Will also pass on the sofa and media center that I was ready to buy. I have bought furniture from Kasala for many years now and have always been thrilled with my purchases. Yesterday I was delivered a new bedroom set and the dresser top was messed up. I called customer service to see what could be done and the very next day (today) they sent out Jason to look at the dresser. He fixed it on the spot! While he was here I also asked if he could look at a chair that was squeaking. I bought this chair over 2 years ago and I thought it would be a long shot to even have him look at it. He looked at the chair and determined he needed a piece from the factory. He went all the way back, got what he needed, came back, and fixed my chair today as well - free of charge! I have always loved Kasala for their high quality furniture, but now I can also say they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. read more
