This review won't be structured how I normally structure it so please bear with me. Pacific furniture gallery is nestled in a plaza in Southcenter. My wife and I were shopping for a new couch last year and went to Macy's first, but didn't see anything we wanted. As we walked to the car, we saw a guy holding a sign for Pacific Furniture Gallery-- instead of going to lunch we just decided to go to the store. The employees here were extremely warm and welcoming, and after disclosing what we were looking for in a couch, we were shown an amazing Chaise that was customizable and had a top-notch warranty. We were instantly sold and purchased the couch. During the purchase process, we were told it would take between four and six weeks for delivery. This was in early December. After week seven, we had not heard anything from the store. We called were told us it would take some more time. I know just how much the global supply chain was affected by Covid so an extra week or two wasn't going to hurt. Unfortunately, this turned into a month long back-and-forth with the company, with them telling us it would be another week, every week, for roughly a month. My tolerance for pain is extremely high so I tried not to get too upset as to not somehow delay this couch even further. The couch did not come until after week 11, almost double of the max time it would take. The company did waive the delivery fee, which I truly appreciate, but had I known all this would happen, we would not have purchased. Looking at the other reviews, it seems delivery has always been an issue. To wrap up: Pros - We LOVE our new couch, and love how we were able to choose the fabric of the pillows and the couch itself. - The price of the couch, although high, is justified by the quality of the product. - Salespeople were really nice. Cons - Late delivery. It felt like there was always an excuse for the couch delay. Excuses for additional delay didn't feel genuine. - Communication issues post purchase. All in all, I give this place 3/5. Would not recommend for the average buyer, but if you are willing to drop extra cash, check out their offerings.

Non exsistent sales people & pushy sales people. Thank God we found this place. We walked in to a nice showroom of beautiful moderately priced quality furniture. Norene greeted us & asked us if she could help us. We told her what were looking for & she pointed us in the direction of a few couches that matched our needs. She then left us alone to look at them & discuss them. She returned at an appropriate time to see if we had any questions & to discuss the merits of the couch we liked. She said they were able to sell us those couches off the floor & deliver them in 4 days time! Wow! They were delivered on time by polite & professional delivery people. Yes there was a $125 delivery fee from Tukwila to our house near the UW. Well worth it for my husband to not have to drive down there & back twice in his truck that gets 8mpg.

Customers are encouraged to linger, ask questions, explore, and enjoy the snacks. We never felt pressured to buy a thing. We ended up having a wonderful and lengthy conversation with Paul, the manager, which made the visit even better! It was just a seriously nice day - it made me happy. I rarely feel that way when shopping! Although I suppose price is always in the eye of the beholder, we felt their prices were completely fair given the workmanship of the pieces. They know what they're doing. We returned the next day to buy a few beautiful pieces we're thrilled with, and felt like we'd gotten a really good deal and enjoyed ourselves in the process. They delivered them in perfect condition the following day. What more could one possibly want? In addition to the quality of the collection, what I loved most about this place was the unhurried, easy vibe...almost a throwback to another time. This is a special place, and we'll be back.

Our experience was extremely frustrating. After hearing multiple admonitions about picking up my item after the 45 day consignment period was up,I returned on the 46th day to retrieve it. The person working had no clue how to find my item and seemed overwhelmed by my request. After searching the shop for about 30 minutes and not finding my item, the owner arrived and said "let's see if it was sold". She looked on the computer and discovered it had been sold a month ago. (Why the employee could not have done such a search when I arrived was never explained.). The owner then explained that items were "settled" on the 10th of the month following the sale. So, they have known the item was sold (and my money) for many days but could not bother to call or email me to save me a trip.

Since we have a small family room, the first question I asked was if a specific measurement range for sofas were available to make and/or try at the store. The second question I asked was regarding the fabric material and if it pils. My third question I asked was regarding the material of the cushion/if it was made of memory foam. As soon as I asked this third question, I was told that I asked too many questions and advised to go to La-Z-Boy or come in person to his store, not to mention that he quickly hung up on me. I did not realize that asking three questions, let alone shortly after opening hours, was considered too many questions. Instead of taking ownership of not knowing the answer to my third question, I was gaslit into thinking that I was in the wrong for asking that question and turned away as a potential customer. I wanted to be supportive of a local business but it seems like customer service is much better in larger chain retailers. The only positive was that I didn't waste my time driving there and experience the worst customer service in person.

I ordered a custom-made table (basic but sturdy design, literally just a tabletop on 4 posts) and paid for it in full on Aug 3 2020. The first red flag was unresponsive and slow communication. Here's what I emailed them regarding specs (this will be important later): 08/03/2020: "Can you give me a rough sketch of what the finished product would look like? I want to make sure there's no ambiguity or points of confusion. I included my own sketch attached. Please call me when you have a chance." 08/14/2020: "Hi, I've tried to reach you by phone a few times regarding the desk." The 4+ months that followed can only be described as an excruciatingly slow and painful process as I desperately tried to garner any tidbit of information they were willing to throw in my direction. I can't post the entire thread because of character limits but here's a sample of me emailing them: 09/07/2020: "Hi, any updates?" 09/17/2020: "Hi Patrick, I have not heard from you in several weeks now." 09/23/2020: "Hello Patrick, I would really appreciate an update from you." 10/05/2020: "Can you give me a firm date on when will this be ready? I placed the order back in early August and it has been two months now." 10/23/2020: "I have not received an update in more than two weeks. Can you give me a firm date of delivery or at the very least some sort of timeframe besides "soon"?" 12/08/2020: "When will this be done? When I visited two weeks ago you told me it should be done before Thanksgiving." 12/15/2020: "I'd like the table that I paid for in August please" UR had me visit twice, on Oct 24 and on Nov 11 to see the tabletop in person to talk about the color. In both instances, I insisted on a dark walnut stain. I emphasized the reasons why I requested it, emailed them samples of the color, supplied photographs, and even pointed at samples within UR's shop that matched what I was looking. The staff, for whatever reason, seemed extremely reluctant to apply any stain at all on the tabletop and would give only non-committal responses in the vein of "We'll see what we can do". Eventually, weeks later, they claim the table is ready for delivery and send me a photo where they have already applied a finish without applying a stain. I have no explanation for their behavior but at that point I got fed up with the endless delays and inexplicable stubbornness and decided to walk away and asked for a refund. UR refused and said my only avenue for redress would be small claims court (quote from them: "we will look for the paperwork"). When I pursued that, the owner resorted to juvenile insults, emailing me that I "suck ass" then eventually getting his attorney involved. To their credit, UR *did* soon after fix their error and applied the correct stain. I visited in person and the table looked great! I secured and paid for its delivery myself and spent several hours setting it up at its new location. It was only then that I found out two things: 1. The table was the wrong dimensions, and too short by 10%. 2. The table was not actually flat and curved inward (see picture). Returning the table at that point was the last thing I wanted to do after everything that transpired. UR claimed that I had approved the shorter dimensions but I have no record of that in any of our emails. Instead, what I do have is multiple instances of me trying to talk to them to nail down specifications but having a difficult time getting a response from them (see emails above). I was never given an explanation for why the tabletop surface was deformed but the flaw made the table functionally useless for its intended purpose. I fully understood that the pandemic has thrown many supply chains into chaos. It makes sense that materials and delivery would suffer delays; to be clear I'm not blaming UR for that. But the issue here is that over the course of several months it was extremely difficult to get a hold of them or get any concrete updates, and what I did end up with eventually was seriously deficient on multiple fronts. Even though I eventually did receive a refund (thanks to PayPal), time and money was wasted on delivery costs and unnecessary court filings on my end. I'm sure UR lost a lot of money as well! But that was a result of some very basic errors on their end and I don't understand why they'd let this happen to them. Hence my confusion.

I bought one of their bunk beds (from Costco as I recall) over 16 years ago, and have moved, disassembled, and re-assembled it many times since. The design is smart and sturdy, and it is simple and fast to disassemble and re-assemble, even simpler than smaller items like chairs and coffee tables I have purchased from competitors. During my last move, the movers lost some of the hardware for the bed. I called these guys up (16 years later, mind you), and they knew exactly what bed I had and sent me the missing hardware via first class mail to my home in California so I could get back to reassembling the bed and settling in to my new house! Compare this to the experience folks are used to these days with fly-by-night online sellers who may not be in existence a few months later, much less answering the phones and supporting their products after nearly two decades. This level of stability and integrity is how business was done in the old days, and this experience has not only drawn me back to Epoch's product line, but encouraged me to think critically about where I source my other products. When it was delivered, assembly was required. A friend and I put most of it together but ran into trouble attaching the back with the rollers to the frame. Phone calls and emails were quickly answered to no avail. I talked to Gabriel who voluntarily came over after he got off work. It was complete in 30 minutes. Excellent product.
