I received an automated response first asking for the order number even though it was already included, and then another response saying they cannot assist through email and redirecting me back to phone, live chat, or text. I am still requesting supervisor escalation, guaranteed delivery with the correct crew, replacement of the damaged headboard, and meaningful compensation for the repeated failed deliveries, damaged item, lost time, and inconvenience Original review: 1/5 -- Extremely disappointing experience with Crate & Barrel. We purchased a bed and dresser for around $6,000 from Crate & Barrel on May 25, expecting a premium product and smooth delivery experience. The problems started in the store. We were encouraged to apply for a Crate & Barrel store card for financing and were told it would commonly support a much higher financing amount. We applied, received only a $1,000 limit, and were told to accept it and that the issue would be corrected later. It was not corrected, but the application still affected my credit score. Then came the delivery issues. Our delivery was scheduled for June 3. The team brought in part of the bed, opened the headboard, and found a large crack. They said it had to be returned. We asked them to at least bring in the dresser, but they said they only had two people and it was too heavy. Customer service did not take meaningful ownership. We explained that we had guests coming for a housewarming and needed the bedroom completed urgently, but we were told nothing could be done and had to wait another week. On June 10, the rescheduled delivery failed again. The driver called and said they did not have enough people to bring the furniture in, canceled the delivery, and then stopped answering calls. We paid premium pricing, lost multiple days waiting at home, received damaged furniture, and still do not have the furniture delivered. Our bedroom is unusable right before guests arrive. This has been the worst shopping and delivery experience we have had at this price level. Crate & Barrel needs to take responsibility, deliver with the correct crew, and provide real compensation for the failed deliveries, damaged item, and wasted time. read more

I purchased a canopy bed from here 2 years ago. Total cost with shipping was over $3000. A few days ago one of the steal beams on the canopy snapped. All customer service offered me a $274 store credit, which does not seem proportionate to the structural defect (I either need to buy a new bed or find someone to weld the frame back together). I stopped in today for a curbside pickup and I was having a really frantic and stressful day. No fault of anyone at the store. Angela was absolutely lovely. She was warm, pleasant, and genuinely kind. She made eye contact with me right away and I think she could tell I was a little overwhelmed. I let her know that I was waiting for curbside and it had not shown up yet. She immediately jumped into action and offered to help me right away. She brought out the order quickly and then mentioned, in such a gentle and thoughtful way, that I might have been parked in the wrong area. She even offered to show me the correct place. I stepped outside and it turned out that it was my mistake, but she never made me feel bad or silly for it. This is the type of hospitality we need. Her warmth completely changed the tone of my visit and made the entire experience feel calm and stress free. Although I usually try to avoid the holiday crowds, I will absolutely be coming back to shop in person at this location. Worst shopping experience of my life. Buyer of furniture and/or online products beware. In store and online customer support was horrible. It started with my online purchase of a couch back in August. I was told by the manager that this would be a custom order so it would take 6-8 weeks . He also encouraged me to go ahead and order online. The first mistake I found out later. An email communication about my order said to expect deliver by early November. After that date passed with no couch I checked in. This time the order delivery was early December. After not hearing from C+B about the coach in early December I decided to visit the Bellevue store to ask for help. When I questioned the only person on the floor, I was told she could not help me since it was an online order. I explained to her the manager had told me to order online. She said he should not have done that and then proceeded to stare at her computer and ignore me. So that's when I started calling customer service. Everyone said they look into the problem and call me back. That never happened. It was like ground hog day, every day. I asked if they had any of my previous calls on files and they said no. You can't have customer service if you don't record the customer problems. What a joke. On my 6th call after 4 months of waiting for this couch, I finally told the clueless customer service person I wanted an answer on what was going on with the couch within 2 hours or I wanted a refund. I finally got my response stating they were unable to fill my order and would give a refund. The amount of frustration I had unsurpassed anything I have experienced when purchasing a product. I have shopped at Crate and Barrel for over 40 years. I will never shop there again. I had already shared my story with family. We were shopping for a sofa, sitting in lots of them and depending on the arrangement putting up our feet on the nearby ottoman or coffee table. One of the reps approached us with an annoyed look and said "Guys, please put your feet down. This IS a show room. Please be respectful." No big deal. We immediately complied with no hesitation. We ended up buying from Restoration Hardware over at University Village (and bought an ottoman too lol). They went out of their way to give us a plastic piece to perch up our feet anywhere we sat and enabled our shopping method. The difference was not lost on me. I really really do not like writing bad reviews but I ordered a bunch of Christmas decorations that had to be picked up at this location and my order was completely wrong and also incomplete- I'm not sure how this was possible? I bought a white wreath, white garland, and 3 white berry stems to match and ended up picking up 3 red stems... i have no use for red stems for my all white Xmas theme... Wonderful customer service! Crate & Barrel not only has great houseware items and furniture, but the staff here are really great to work with, making you feel valued as a customer the moment you walk into the store. This Crate & Barrel location is in downtown Bellevue, as part of the Bellevue Collection. There are two stories, the first story being more houseware items, with much of it being kitchen accessories. The second story has furniture. There are multiple entrances, with a parking garage right outside the second floor entrance. We visited Crate & Barrel to find a new couch. They had a fair amount of options, with accent chairs, tables, wall displays and more, to really complete the room and help you envision how you can decorate your space. While looking at a sectional, an employee came by to see what we were looking for and soon after we told him we were looking for a couch, he went over several different options, asked what kind of style we were looking for, and how we planned to tie the room together. He really went above and beyond in finding options for us with what we were looking for. We even went over to a table area where he was able to take out different swatches of a fabric of a couch that we were looking at, along with other customizable fabrics for accent colors and a block of wood, just to see how it would go with furniture or hardwood floors. Amazing! After shopping at Crate & Barrel, we felt much better about furniture shopping and had a better sense of the kind of design we were looking for. I bought a piece of furniture from Crate & Barrel in May 2024. It was a Beckett 6-high Shelf Dk Brown. I picked it up with the original packaging box and assembled at home. However, I found that one of the metal legs was bent. Then I called their customer service and asked them to replace it with a new one. They delivered the replacement furniture on 5/27, but it turned out that the new one was still defective. I refused to accept it and called them to send another new one, and clearly requested that it come with its original packaging box. However, on 6/6, they delivered another piece of furniture without a box and with defects. I continued to refuse to accept it and called them again to send yet another new one, and again clearly requested that it come with the original packaging box. However, what is infuriating is that this situation happened repeatedly for a total of 6 times! They were 5/27, 6/6, 6/19, 7/20, 7/27, and 8/7. Each time, they delivered a defective piece of furniture (some with cracks on the wood, some with scratches on the metal frame), without a packaging box, and then I refused to accept it and called customer service to ask them to send another new one, and clearly requested that it come with the original packaging box. I think this is a great disrespect for customers. Customer service agreed to my request to exchange a new piece of furniture every time, but every time there was a problem with the delivered replacement; customer service said every time that it had been noted that the furniture needed to be delivered with its original packaging box, but every time it was delivered without packaging and with problems. This is also a disrespect for my time. I had to take leave and wait at home for these 6 deliveries, which delayed my work time, but the problem was never solved. I think this behavior of Crate & Barrel is very disappointing. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and asked to keep the earliest delivered furniture (the one with bent legs) and give me a discount, but customer service finally only gave me a 10% discount. I don't think this discount can offset the loss of my time and energy, so I had to return it in the end. I will not buy any furnitures from Crate & Barrel in future. Placed order in June for a couple of pieces of furniture. The most important (dresser) to be delivered mid June, night stands to be delivered late July. 7/29 - dresser has had several delays (early July, mid July, early august) now mid august. Nightstands ready for delivery which is great, but I don't want the nightstands if I can't get the dresser which was the most important piece and the reason for ordering the set. Customer service at this location was really disappointing. Upon asking one of the cashiers where we could find a certain item we were rudely told "I don't know. I'm helping another person right now" and then walked away from. While I understand that they were in the middle of helping someone else, there are more polite ways to dismiss someone. This happened again as we approached the register to pay. The cashier walked away to grab printer paper without acknowledging us and then turned their back when they returned to bag up some online orders. Update: 5/6 Couch ordered on 7/9/2021and I still don't have the whole thing. I'm still missing a piece and it says expected delivery date of early June (it just got pushed back today). If you need a couch, don't buy one from here unless you can wait almost a year. It had an expected delivery of 11/2021 when we ordered it and since part of it was delivered (2/3 pieces) in January it's not like I can return it and they probably did that on purpose to screw the customers over. Update: 4/15 Full table was delivered, the concrete too is slightly damaged so they told me customer service will reach out about a replacement top. That's probably why it actually got delivered this time. It didn't come with the appropriate screws because they were too short to actually hold the top in place but the delivery guys had some extra longer screws in the truck. Third party delivery guys were awesome, super friendly super nice. Very respectful and had shoe covers. They even pointed out the little dings and what not on the concrete top. read more

Here's a giant store full of stuff for your house. House already full of stuff? Go buy a bigger house. We need to sell you some more stuff. You have placemats in only one color? What are you? Conducting Al-Qaeda training camps in your basement, got no time for placemat shopping? Get American, and get in here and buy. Actually, even if your credit card doesn't feel quite bold enough to be ready for the full-frontal treatment that this place demands of it, this is a pretty convincing place to wander around and imagine buying stuff. If you can picture yourself having an opinion about dinner plates, salad plates, appetizer plates, and those other plates, whatever the hell they are, then this is a place where you can bring that opinion. You can peel the damp paper towels away from that fledgling opinion, and watch it leap into the jet stream alongside opinions about furniture upholstery, "runners," which are upholstery for the tops of furnitures, I think, as well as opinions about small shiny appliances, and small shiny salesgirls. Oh, and, please--stop looking at those. You'll break them. Nothing here has to be merely good enough for now. Here, you can find your dream spoon, your forever napkin ring, and the pickle fork you show the world when you say "I believe I'll have another pickle." The stuff is damn nice. That highball glass too heavy? We have it in three other weights, so your widdle arm can lift more gin 'n' tonic. That glass looks awfully thin, though...let's talk about dishwasher clouding over the life of the glass. We have somebody here who published a paper on that. This place really has it all. Actually, this place has enough to make you redefine your ill-conceived notion of what "it all" really means, where housewares are concerned. My vocabulary is by most measures an arsenal, but these people have synonyms for "pillow" and "knife" and "chair," and they have them in quantities that hold promise of uncharted territories of noun. Uncharted...except for the price tags. Have I actually told you anything about what it's like to shop here? No. No, I have not. But if you're reading Yelp reviews as a way to help you make up your mind about whether you should shop at C&B, well, you can't afford it. OTOH, though, those were some pretty sweet highball glasses and I think they were only $5. So maybe get your bargain-huntin' spectacles on and keep an open mind. And the staff sure is super duper uper nice. And they wrap everything and have a special loading dock out back so they can bring all your housewares straight out to your truck. Nice place. read more

Crate & Barrel is the store that has everything you could use for a wedding or house warming gift. Also for grandma or what to buy your boss. I've been shopping at Crate & Barrel since 2002 when I was given a gift card for Christmas. I usually shop via the catalog and have only stepped foot into this store twice; last night was the second time. I came in to wander around and kill time while waiting for my boyfriend. I was attracted to an end table made of driftwood with a round glass top for $300. When my boyfriend met up with me, he liked a mesh basket on a coffee table for $75. Not going to spend that kind of money when I can buy the same elsewhere for much less. However, most of what I like about C&B are the kitchen items such as dishes and specialty items like a heart-shaped waffle maker, now on sale for $40. They sell the same things you'd find at Target, just at a heavier price tag and with more style. read more

Pricier than Ikea, Crate & Barrel is really stylish and ultra trendy. The goods found here are somewhat similar to what you would find at a Ikea, though higher priced. Though some goods are those that you would find at a kitchen specialty store like Williams-Sonoma which I like about Crate. Crate & Barrel is the middle ground. Found some nice glassware for the home here, picked up some wine and cocktail glasses, as well as some faux leather coasters. All were decently priced and liked that there are multiple styles of these items to choose from to suit your tastes. Like that it is conveniently located in Bellevue Square for a quick drive getting there. A definite time saver going to Crate compared to driving over to Ikea. I recommend Crate if you are looking for housewares that are a tad more interesting and aesthetically pleasing. read more

We have a bunch of Crate and Barrel stuff that Sarah had got from the store or we had purchased online but I never have had a store experience before. Everyone was super nice and helpful and we were asked multiple times if we were being helped. The overall selection for kitchen items here is awesome! Sometimes I go to stores just to see if there is anything I like and then I end up buying it online. C&B is seriously who taught me how important good service is, especially in regards to buying pricey furniture (compared to the shotty experience I had a few blocks down at West Elm). They all seem to be busy and this one is just pure mayhem. Located at the end of the University Village, it's got great visibility. While most of their stuff is pretty pricey, they do have some functional items like the kitchen/refrigerator for those hard to reach items, and with a lip to pull it out easier too. Came to shop for some whiskey stones so don't need ice cubes anymore for my cold drinks. Girl super friendly, checked on the computer to make sure they carried them, and walked me over. And after awhile of waiting, one clerk came up with 'can i help you?', then when my husband and I mentioned what we were interested in, she says 'i am actually with a costumer right now'... Second time bed frame delivered.. (first time they delivered broken bed frame). This time they delivered unboxed bed frame. The driver inform us we should not accept the bed frame since they are unboxed which mean it might be rejected by other customer. also since they are not in the box, it might be damaged. so we told them the take it back and will call for the refund.. Crate & Barrel is best friend status. I'm not ashamed to admit my unhealthy dependency on her but we just get each other. She's the peas to my carrots; she's the tampon to my panty liners. I spend at least 5% of my life browsing their online catalog. I would say that our friendship makes Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's relationship look like our bitch. Except not as trashy but equally materialistic. Our relationship is on a level playing field, which is more than I can say for most friendships, in that what I receive is as good as what I give. I can rationalize and justify every purchase made here; I will go further and justify your purchases here if need be. Even though it's easy to spend hundreds of dollars on a single shopping trip, I feel assured that it's a quality piece. From their glasses, to cookware, to general kitchen appliances, to random shit you don't need like napkin rings, Crate & Barrel has it all. I once purchased coasters that were more expensive per piece than a 16 oz. water glass just because it was pretty. Now that I live close to downtown Bellevue, Crate & Barrel and I will cherish moments together and have heart-to-hearts over dark chocolate truffles. Our fashion senses at home mingle and our philosophies align. She takes a good chunk of my bank account but that's only because I love her. read more

There's a huge inventory of house stuff - furniture, home accessories, kitchen items, holiday/seasonal decor - and, surprisingly, everything is super-reasonably priced. I often walk around the store, getting inspired for decorating certain areas in my house. I have always found gifts for others here in this store, and thier XMas selection of gifts (foods, ornaments and decor) is outstanding. The salespeople aren't pushy and will gladly let you browse in peace. They have tons of things for smaller living spaces (apartments and small townhomes), as many items are smaller-scale.
