I looked here on Yelp for the best place to buy greeting cards. I needed a Father's day card, an Anniversary card, and a graduation card. From the reviews here, Paper Source looked like the best. So I navigated the huge parking garage (fortunately free that day) and eventually found my way into Paper Source. I seriously thought about taking pictures along the way to help me find my way all the way back to my car. Wow, so disappointing! Yes there were cards that were...different. But not interesting. They were all pretty dull. And the selection was on the small side. I finally found cards I liked at Safeway. I assume Paper Source is a great place to buy craft paper. But for greeting cards I'd have to call it vastly overrrated. read more

When we came in, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The store was also clean and well organized. It did appear that they were having some major issues with their supply chain as quite a few of their paper stock displays were empty or items were out of stock. In the end, they didn't have anything we were looking for so we sadly left empty-handed and had to go elsewhere to find what we wanted. read more

I don't know why, but I loooovvveeee stationary and notebooks and greeting cards and anything that you'd find in a boss girl's office. Paper Source always seems to have something in here that makes me smile or laugh, with such fun craft items, office accessories and gifts. For special occasions, I really like to shop at Paper Source for a witty, quirky greeting card. For PG-13 cards, Paper Source has it. You know what I mean! They also have a ton of stationary items, which you can customize if you fancy, like letterhead or wedding invitations, etc. Staff is happy to help with that process. In addition to stationary, there are a ton of items that are perfect gifts for loved ones or yourself! For every holiday, they have themed cards, gifts and items. Paper Source is a stationery, card and gift shop store that has really great wrapping paper that costs too much but is worth it for a special someone, scrapbooking/card making supplies and envelopes in dozens of colors. I love coming here to get little gifts for people and also supplies like glittery stickers for cards, invitations, and a Kate Spade address book for myself recently. I was especially happy to find this $25 address book here because it was sold out on Amazon.com and was the same price. I make my own greeting cards for all occasions and shop here sometimes since it's near my office for supplies. I have also grabbed a card I liked for my husband. The cards they sell range from snarky to adults only. They also have a service for creating wedding and special event invites. With exception of the last time I came in shopping, there are usually 3 to 5 sales girls who ask how I'm doing and if I need any help. You can park for free at Bellevue Square and walk over to this store which is near the Westin. Parking at Lincoln Square is not free except for the weekends or after 8 pm. Some odds and ends that have zip to do with stationery are sold here like a table dedicated to men's gifts including items like a travel tin with supplies for two alcoholic drinks and golf balls and nail stickers for little girls at the checkstand. read more

Paper Source is a stationery store located at Lincoln Square. Though it is no longer in the main building. They used to be in the corner space on Bellevue Way and NE 8th, but that space is now an AT&T store. Instead, they have moved down the street into the old ExOfficio store space near the Westin. The store has a sizable selection of greeting cards, stamps and stationery items. There are also some random items by the pay counter too like candies. In the back of the store is a section for customized envelopes and cards for weddings and other formal events. The vibe of the store is very chill. The staff lets you browse on your own without pressure. If you need help, just ask. I came here looking for a wedding card since I didn't want to pick up the usual American Greetings/Hallmark cards from the drugstore. The selection here was okay. Prices are higher than if you go the drugstore route. I didn't find many options that matched the occasion and message that I wanted to convey. Just one, but I guess that is all you need. If you are looking for unique greeting cards, Paper Source is a decent option. Though I would suggest checking out Papyrus and Etsy as well for similar card offerings. read more

I have ordered a daytimer every year for the last number of years. They're super $$ because of the exchange and shipping but I loved them. Sadly this year it arrived in a thin envelope and was damaged in one corner. This bent the pages inside as well. The cover actually seems a bit thinner than in past years. I contacted customer service and the person responding has repeatedly promised to have a return label sent out so I could send it back for a refund. A week later and I've still received nothing. I'm now very leery about sending back and never receiving my refund $$$. Apparently I have to send it back then reorder another one. read more

I was impressed that they had Pilot Varsity fountain pens for the same price as Amazon ($4). There were three employees available and they gave personal attention to four separate people in the ten minutes we were there. The store must make tons of money on something--maybe wedding invitations or scrapbooking addicts who spend more money than I'm putting in my child's college account. Most of the stuff in the store doesn't seem expensive enough to pay the rent here. They moved from the 8th Street corner to mid-block location, but I'm glad they didn't go away. I was grateful they let me use the bathroom. There they had sent sticks in tip of the toilet tank. Unlike most, they have a pleasant scent. The clerk said it was on sale in the store. My husband asked if they offered personalized sealing wax stamps. The staff member brought up a relevant Etsy page before he even realized that she was typing on one of the computers. The greeting cards run around six dollars each. The fancy pen case I had my eye on was $15. My favorite item was a glass jar, roughly five inches tall, with wood matches inside. If I were to purchase them for $15 I would keep them by my desk for candlelight transcriptions of sacred verses. As it is I will get an empty spice jar and replicate the idea. read more

Paper source is one of my absolute favorite stores. It's the cutest craft store filled with every colored paper/card/envelope you could ever think of. Paper source is filled with stationary, crafting pens, stamps, embossers and Knick knacks that will satisfy any creative mind. I went to paper source today to look at wedding invitations. Being like most bride to bes, I had no idea where to start, what I wanted or what the process was like. But I went to see if I could at least be able to narrow some options down. My fiancé and I were greeted by an employee (I believe Karen was her name? Forgive me if I got it completely wrong) and she explained the process for invites, the different ways we could go about ordering them, how long it would take to get them and answered any other silly questions I had. What a cool, arts and crafts interactive tour guide! Ie. learned that for 6dollars I get access to all kinds of art products and tools to design custom thank you cards she even showed me cool tricks with the heater and stamp creating a gold thank you for gloss letter internal backing. I can see a lot of utility in getting to try out and test/learn and or also(knowing the tools are there) just to make one or several quick custom works! Happiness can come wrapped in thousand colors papers (that was a saying in my childhood in Spain). Honestly, this store makes you happy as soon as you put your feet in it. Smells good quality paper, you can find origami paper, Indian and Nepal produced paper, all kind of goodies in trillion colors...and zillion images of my favorite icon: the Eiffel tower! I loved this store when passing by Bellevue during a brief trip. I spent a good time there talking with the sales associate who informed me about the classes they offer and even gave me some tips of things to do in Bellevue. Big, spacious and well assorted. This place is always a fun stop. They have so many creative and fun art supplies, beautiful cards and gorgeous, unique gifts & holiday decor. Their sale section is always big and a great place to shop. Their staff is unusually friendly, considering how busy the store always is. One particular highlight is Kristin, who is always personable, kind and has a way of making shopping a pleasure. She is a fantastic addition to their knowledgeable staff. Came in here for the first time. The girl who greeted me was super helpful, excited to be there and gave me a good briefing of the store. The quality of sheet wrapping paper and selection was great. Lots of crafty projects and gifty stuff, as well as journals, note cards and the like. Bright and well laid out. Only downside is it's kinda pricey but everything seems really good quality. I ordered three items during Thanksgiving break... one custom order and two other non-custom items that were "in stock" when I placed the order. I received the custom order within one week. Three weeks later, I still hadn't received the non-custom, "in-stock" items. I checked status and it said pending. I sat on the phone listening to elevator music for an hour and half before they answered and tell me that it is being put in the mail tomorrow. Twenty (20) minutes after getting off the phone, I get an email saying the item is no longer in stock and my order is cancelled. GRRR! I am pleased with the custom order but not their customer service. I'm not going to order from Paper Source again. read more

Paper Source, part of Lincoln Square of The Bellevue Collection, what I call a premium paper/cardstock/greeting card supply store. This location had a whole assortments of specialty papers (by the yards on whole rolls), of fine quality, artistic paper, which can be used for creating gift cards, or gift boxes, or anything that needs to be made of paper. This place is fun for those who love arts and crafts with paper. I was in here just looking for color card stock for a small project, and I was happy that they had the colors I wanted, on the weight of paper I was looking for. Speaking about the colors, this venue has a variety of shades, sizes, colors of paper, how about a whole four-foot shelf of the shade of red, another for blue, another navy, another for pink and then every shade in between - so many shades that I wouldn't know how to utilize them all. Anyway - when I'm feeling like being crafty for a fine selection of colored paper - I know where I'll be heading! This review is about Paper Source classes, not the shopping experience at the store (which I love). I love paper crafts and frequently take classes to improve my skills. I'm inspired by learning from other knowledgeable crafters so I was excited to get a spot in the Paper Source's popular hand lettering class. What a disappointment. The young instructor was friendly and good at hand lettering. Unfortunately, she was not equipped to teach a class on it. Her "teaching" method was to demonstrate something once and tell us to practice. After about 15-20 minutes she would demonstrate something else and tell us practice again...that was the entire class. She didn't once look at any of the participants work, offer suggestions, or teach a thing. If asked a specific question she'd suggest we buy a book to see how to do it. I basically paid for a sales pitch for Paper Source books, pens, notebooks, paper, and a list of Instagram sites for calligraphers. Bottomline: Do NOT waste your money on the Paper Source's hand lettering class. Take a class from a professional who cares about teaching about their craft. I've taken great classes at Impress and Dolce Impressions, and am excited to try an upcoming class at One Heart Studio. read more

Hello, Lover....you sexy beast. I was desperate to find decent stationery, having hunted throughout town for a week. I checked Crane's, Papyrus, and all sorts of snooty places. I wanted something unique but elegant. I thought I could personalize blank cards, but I didn't know exactly what I should create. I walked into the store, and I was overwhelmed. With joy. I saw racks and racks of wrapping (?) paper--all gorgeous, patterned, textured, saturated with insanely great colors... I was with two male friends, and they BOTH agreed the paper was amazing, worthy of framing. I am secretly planning a covert, private return trip to mingle with the wrapping paper....hi, my name is Spaz, and I'm a Paperholic. But I digress--I needed stationery. I walked through the store, going ADHD and tweaking out--it is a minefield for those of us who suffer from Stationery Addicition. One of the salespeople must have sensed my panic--she escorted me to the back corner, to recommend blank cards and envelopes, of the finest paper on earth. The walls o' paper are pretty intense--my eyes started going into vertigo swirls, but she stayed with me. She explained the colors, the sizes, and made thoughtful suggestions. I perused the paper for quite some time. I walked back and forth between plain and designed papers. Another salesperson came to assist, and she was extremely helpful as well. Together, we selected gorgeous silver envelopes and Tiffany Blue folded cards. I wanted to "personalize" in a subtle way, and I asked if they had nice seals or something. They had monogrammed seals (initials), but that's a bit too Martha Stewart for me. We chose a big stamp with a cherry blossom design, and a white inkpad. She felt strongly that the white ink would look really modern and fresh, so I went with it. Looking for any excuse to throw more money down in Mecca, I asked about what type of pen would work best on the envelopes an the cards. In any other store (especially Martha Stewart Town aka Crane's), they'd whisk you away to the Expensive Pens For People With Inferiority Complexes. Not here. The salesperson simply said, "Oh, don't worry. A regular ballpoint will look and work just fine. You don't need anything special." Wow. I'm pretty sure this salesperson is a substance abuse counselor. The fact that she didn't play into my "get everything perfect" state of madness, well...that is true kindness. My cards look incredible (and the lady was dead-on about the white ink). The ink also works on the "slippery" surface of the silver envelopes, and the stamp marked really clearly (no blotchy, blobby messes). Mission accomplished. It's a candy store, plain and simple. I just kept staring at the walls, the displays....it's mesmerizing...you can't help but put the money guilt aside--it's just too beautiful in there. It is NOTHING like the other stationery stores I checked out. My friends had fallen into comas by the time I was done. I'll be spending many hours here. Good thing this place wasn't around when I shopped for wedding invitations. I'd have bankrupted us within minutes. read more

Paper source is a great place for wrapping papers - let me get that out in the open immediately. They have a great number of styles from quirky to formal or geomettric - you name it. What I don't appreciate is the unbelievable exorbitant amount they asked for wrapping a gift. It cost me $10 for 'the service'. No, really - ten actual dollars. I mean, there was nothing particularly fancy about the way it was wrapped it either, I would have been able to do worse only if I was two, or perhaps physically challenged and drooling. On top of that, I was actually informed that it would be extra for ribbons. The only reason I actually went through with the whole damn thing was that I felt it would be rude to. Go here if you don't mind forking over for wrapping paper, but STEER CLEAR of the 'wrapping service'. read more

I am in love with this location! This place has TONS more product than the Seattle University village location. I still love the Seattle UV location, but this location seemed to be a lot bigger, and was just a lot of fun to be in. I'm just so glad to have found this location. I EFFING LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I was just going to stop in for a quixie look but I ended up googooing and gagaing over every pretty item in the entire store and pampered myself silly. They have a variety of beautiful wrapping/crafting papers, supplies, and tools. Huge selection of stationary for those who still like to send old fashioned snail mail. I had the absolute worst wedding invitation experience with the Paper Source, everything that could go wrong did and they were completely overpriced. Processing was extremely slow. I placed an invitation order with the paper source on a Sunday and was told after paying the bill that the invitations would be sent directly to print and be ready in 10 days. Little did I know that they only have one letterpress printing facility in Chicago and that the sales girl didn't give me all of the paper work so my invitations weren't even sent to the print until Thursday. This still baffles me because the manager reviewed the paperwork 2 times while I was in the store and this critical form went unnoticed for 4 days. Secondly, after the girl read the form over the phone I was shocked to find out that it actually takes 20 business days (not including weekends) just to print the invitation. This does not include assembly or shipping. Once I agreed to the contract, my wedding invitations were sent to their design team who is responsible for providing you with a sample invitation. The paper source allows one free correction and anything after that will be $25. When I received my sample via email, the motif wasn't in the color indicated on the contract so my invitations were delayed by yet another day. I received a phone call on Monday stating that two-color letterpress doesn't include coloring the motif and only covers text (which contradicts what I was told by the staff). This made absolutely no sense to me and the option given was to use black ink which didn't match my wedding colors or pay $225 for a custom design so they could print my motif in beet. I agreed to the latter option but had to negotiate with the manager that I should receive rush order shipping since a week had passed since I've placed my order. The paper source agreed to this and I was told my invitations were sent to print and should be ready in 20 business days. To my surprise, they weren't ready until day 25 and when they arrived I was 20 sashes short. I went to the paper source hoping they were misplaced but it turns out the sashes are only in the Chicago corporate office and I would have to place another order. I explained to the sales associate that my invitations were already late being processed and couldn't risk another delay so she gave me sheets of paper in the same design and let me cut my own sashes with paper cutter for free. Geez, so I know this is a long review but I highly recommend my future brides to look elsewhere. I know there aren't many options in Bellevue but you should consider ordering online or going to Seattle. In the end, my invitations did come out great but the price of paper in this store is overpriced and the assembly fees were ridiculous. read more

Let's start off by saying that I am absolutely positively a stationary, crafting, office supply nerd. I love it all - which is why the Paper Source is a bit of a mecca for me. They recently moved to a new location which is a little smaller, but appropriate for their store. When you first walk in you are always immediately greeted by some of the best gift ideas you can find. They have tables that are filled to the brim with wonderful trinkets. They also have one of the hands-down best collections of cards. They have the best cards for almost every single location you can think of. A few of my favorite stationers that they feature include Rifle Paper Company, Emily McDowell and 1Canoe2. Okay let's talk about the staff. How are they always so nice, helpful and happy? Every single person that I have talked to here has been genuinely really nice, which is always a pleasant surprise. They are ALWAYS willing to help you find exactly what you are looking for. They help make the whole experience infinitely better. Plus: they showed me how to heat emboss. If you are ever in the store, you can ask for a demo of heat embossing and even do it yourself. They have a station permanently set up to the left of the entrance. Oh! And if you sign up for their e-mails, they often have discounts and coupon codes that you can use online as well as in the store. I'll be back, and let's be honest, probably pretty soon. read more

I was actually surprised that the prices were so LOW, given that this might be (or at least should be) the single most expensive piece of tenant real estate in all of Bellevue, and possibly Seattle. Double height space, right on the corner of Bellevue Way in the midst of "The Bellevue Collection"? I wasn't sure I'd be able to afford a single sheet. But it really wasn't too bad, about the same as the horrid Paper Zone (see my review) and the staff is about a million times better. They'd actually love to help you find something and are very cheerful about it! I needed a lot of a certain type of card, so I cleaned them out of eco-white square cards and they ordered the remainder for me from their Portland warehouse. The store is easy to shop and filled with all kinds of delights! Gorgeous handmade patterned paper by the sheet, including a penguin print I bought just because i loved it, with no inkling as to its possible use in my life. Just pretty. There are leather blank books in jelly bean colors, stamps, ink, fun little toys, and row upon row of well-organized letter size sheets and envelopes in every color and weight imaginable. This is my heaven. It is a little spendy, yes, but the staff and eye candy experience of the store make it worth it. read more

Paper Source features a great selection of specialty papers as well as an ample supply of invitation/card supplies in a wide array of colors and styles. They also have a decent selection of stamping supplies and other crafting touches. This store also has classes throughout the week featuring a special project which are cool to check out. Prices are reasonable and you certainly get a quality product. Note, the final price tag for that project can quickly add up when you have to get a ton of supplies! However, rest assured the project will come out really amazing as long as you buy the right product, have the time, and most importantly the effort to have it all come together! read more

A great line of paper at this store. The PS Collection is really top notch and the ladies working are oh so creative and helpful. I love the envelopes: converted from a nice weight paper with a deep Euro-flap, very nice. And the colors are on point. I always go there for thank you, birthday, and a variety of other custom cards. When I came to Washington for a conference and saw Paper source next door I just had to come in. It is quite nice and the people are ready to help. I really like Paper Source as a stationary, cards, wrapping paper and "how to" store. Just as the name implies, Paper Source is all things paper. They'll do custom printing, you can find unique Japanese wrapping paper, heavy card stock and all kings of over knick knacks which you didn't think you needed until you go into the store. Budget time to look through a Paper Source store. This particular location was my first ever Paper Source experience, and I was overwhelmed, and amazed, by the quality and quantity of merchandise. I have been past this place so many times but never have had a reason to pop in until last week. I am on a mission to find wedding invitations and was considering the DIY option. Paper Zone in SE Bellevue closed so I went in here just to get an idea of some different types of paper and their weights ect. Upon walking in, I saw many cute Valentine's Day things but I tried not to let myself get distracted and headed over to the card stock area. I started looking for the color I wanted and was quickly approached by a staff member. Usually I just say "I'm just looking," but feeling a little out of my element, I told her what I was trying to do and I was so glad. She showed me many options they had and the different sizes for DIY invitations. I had lots of questions, more than I knew coming in. She was very helpful and knew her stuff from printing on the paper to cutting it down and making it fit. I really liked the Shimmer Silver paper. I took the information with me and went home to play around with some ideas. I looked on the website and noticed that you can get discounts on paper when you order a certain amount of more. I don't know if they do that in store but I think that is the way to go! They also have DIY templates on there that you could definitely use for your own projects or you could go in and buy the matching paper, which is awesome so you don't have to create your own...unless you are super creative. I have spent hundreds of dollars at Paper Source in the past few years and had a truly bad experience just yesterday. I ordered a custom stamp plate as I have three other sets (inkpad, stamp plate and the seal) and the website clearly says that you can easily exchange the plates. My custom plate arrived and I was so excited but when I was ready to use it, the definition of the seal was very poor. I contacted customer service and exchanged emails with them. I was told I had to purchase an inkpad. Nowhere in the website it says that I must buy one --it's recommended. Anyway, I told the lady that the website was misleading and that I have tried my stamp with a new inkpad I had at home, and even then, the definition was poor. She brushed it off and asked me to purchase the inkpad. I am sending my order back soon if they don't solve my problem. read more

Paper Source makes me want to be crafty and make cute cards that my friends are amazed by. But truth be told, I am not crafty per se, and I love to buy cute already made cards and the Paper Source has got them... and then some! I work next door to this store, and whenever I can I come to Lincoln Square a few minutes before my shift to browse at all the cuteness they have! :) Paper? Gift Bags? Random gifty things?
