They were EXTREMELY RUDE AND SNARKY. We were the only minority in the shop and they followed us the whole time making passive aggressive comments. Other customers (non-POC) were clearly looking around and they weren't constantly disrupted and being pressured to buy things. The funny part we were the only customer that bought something (maybe her harassment tactics work lol) since I thought the item was cute. When I opened my item I noticed that it was damaged. However, the employee there made us so uncomfortable that I'll count this as a loss with my defective item since I'm non-confrontational. Normally I wouldn't jump to conclusions about racial issues unless it feels HEAVILY targeted as such (nothing differentiate us from the other customers other than we were non-white, i.e our attire and mannerisms were no different than the other customers). Something was off about her and clearly whatever issues she internally had was projected on to us. Definitely won't be back, nor recommend. **Update** I went to google to post my review there also because my experience was that bad. But before I posted I saw other people's reviews and SHOCKER (not really) the majority of people that posted bad reviews on customer's experience and feeling very dismissed/mistreated were MINORITIES. I'm so glad I waddled in here! The name threw me off but its a great place for trinkets and gifts! It reminds me of Paper Source a bit. Tons of local items, kid items and some sassy ideas as well. They have such a large selection of items from art, kitchen ware, notebooks, toys, books, socks etc. I got so many Christmas stocking stuffers! I didnt feel the staff were super friendly but don't let that deter you, this place is awesome. read more

There are so many merchandise but nice selections and organized each section. I purchased funny face stone, Tokyo bey watch, funny card and octopus tentacle pen! My wife fell in love with Fireworks Gallery. On her previous trips to Seattle, she'd bought a few paper lanterns at their SeaTac airport location and the rest was history. Their awesome lanterns are definitely one of a kind. Packaged in a flat envelope and manually assembled with easy to use instructions, once you put it all together it's like you've time warped into Star Trek's deep space nine or the sixties depending on how your mood fits... This store came complete with crazy themed series and night lights, a gag rack and other unique items for guys and gals. The little ones loved this place and so did I! I recently visited Fireworks in Bellevue Mall after seeing a twinkling Christmas tree I'd always wanted in their window. it was difficult to get through the store without buying anything as there were so many amazing things to choose from that were either funny, of great design or super creative! I've visited this store many times over in the past, but this had to be the best visit I'd ever had as they've definitely either hired a new buyer or have made an entire overhaul to what they used to carry. They carry everything from Peeper Readers to high-end hand bags - a perfect store to buy gifts for those who are difficult to buy for! Way to go guys and thank you so much!! PS to Gail P, just because they offer one mini section out of a huge store you don't appreciate, you give the entire store a one star rating?! PLEEZE! Fireworks is one of those stores that has everything I want but not a single thing that I need. I could spend hours in there just browsing through their interesting products (and in fact I have a few times, especially at their Sea-Tac Airport location when waiting for a flight). Their Bellevue Square location, however, puts all others to shame. It is HUGE and so nicely laid out. And they really do have everything - from kitschy gag gifts to beautiful hand-crafted jewelry to books, clothing, purses, cookbooks, home decor, baby gifts...I'm getting exhausted just trying to remember it all. This is where I always look for (and most likely pick up) gifts for my friends. They have a smorgasbord of random items peppered throughout the store. Most of them are fun and quirky and some items are specific to the Seattle area (like Theo Chocolate). I could easily spend hours here going through all their stuff. Love browsing here. Just when I think how predictable stuff can be, I see something clever and or unique. Takes a lot of willpower to not buy something from this store because there's always a little use for it, but I've done without it up until now! Great place to shop for a gift too. This store really scratches my itch when I need to just go SHOPPING and look at STUFF! There is always a ton of interesting, pretty, clever, cute (pick some more adjectives!) stuff in here -- books, clothing, jewelry (I've noticed they carry Dogeared items), cooking gadgets, cards, etc. They also add seasonal items like AMAZING hats around Halloween (WICKED!) and Easter items at Easter etc. Whenever I step in here, there's always something new I see and something fun to marvel at -- and, sometimes, something just so wonderful I have an impulse buy! This is definitely a great store to find a clever/fun gift for a friend that's maybe just a bit higher quality than items in Fuego on the other side of the mall (maybe grown-up quirkiness is a good way to put it!). I'm a focused shopper when I'm home in London but on holiday, I turn into a bit of a window-shopper. Bellevue Square Mall provided a variety of shops to just drift in and out of. Fireworks proved an interesting shop with a variety of goods. I was initially drawn in by the interesting hanging lamps in the window display. Once inside the store, I found an amazing variety of merchandise to jewelry to kitchen gadgets. Some of these, such as The Ex Voodoo Knife Block made me chuckle. I was intending to buy some stuff as little gifts but the prices meant that I eventually left empty handed. I love this store!! It's the best place to waste time while you are waiting for people. They have so many random books and trinkets. If you needed to buy a present I'm sure there is something for everyone. They also have some really fun jewelry and artsy type stuff for your home. Definitely original. I was in the store last week and saw the cutest bike bell. I knew I could get it for cheaper online, but wanting some instant gratification I decided to go back and buy it. For as cute as this store is, you'd think the sales staff would be super interested to show their customers around, talk about the products, etc, - but they are not. They are perfectly content to stand around (or behind) the counter talking to each other. I tried looking for the bell, but after I couldn't find it, I decided to ask. The sales people weren't in their "normal" area behind the counter, so I had to track one down. Luckily I could spot them because they were all standing together near the cash register area. I asked about the bell, and all the while knowing I was going to overpay, but I really, REALLY wanted it. The girl asked me what it looked like. Then she asked me where I saw it.... Really?! She couldn't find the bell, so she told me to go online and buy it and gave me the company name. Wow. *sigh* Still wanting to leave with a purchase I decided to get something else. I went to the cashier where she starts tearing the price stickers off my purchase (in the process ripping off the back of the packaging). I asked her not to rip off any more of the tags, and she kept ripping and said "Sorry, store policy." Is that because they're hoping when customers see the same merchandise cheaper somewhere else that they'll forget what they paid at Fireworks? Hmm... Anyway, I'd like to say that this was a one time experience, but I've been here several times and the staff is always the same, not interested in customers. Truthfully, you can buy all the stuff they sell here cheaper online and it won't arrive damaged and with stickers torn off. read more

For what is sold in here, I'm amazed. But that's not why I'm giving it 5 stars. I'm giving it 5 stars because the customer service here is amazing. That made all the difference. I only bought a book; my mother bought a bracelet. The same woman rung us out. She was extremely well-mannered, almost to the point where you think "stop being so polite". yesterday my mother I and went into the store and my mother went to buy two headbands and the cashier was very rude and instead of handing over a paper bag they charged us the cashier was very disrespectful and rude! if they can't have respectful attitudes and have positive behavior they shouldn't be running the store or own the store at all! who in the right mind disrespects customers and make rude remarks. I'm initially from Montreal, where there is an abundance of eclectic, avante garde and artsy boutiques, and once I moved to the Pacific Northwest, I really missed those kinds of stores. A lot. And then I found Fireworks. Thank goodness! I've been to all their stores in the Seattle area, and I have never failed to find the perfect gift for anyone - including myself! I somehow always stop by this store because they have a lot of interesting specialty gifts. It's easier to find your ideal gift here. The prices are little higher but I feel it's fair since they provide very specialty items. If you are in the mall, and have time, you should always check this store especially if you plan a trip somewhere and need to find a quality gift ideas. read more

Always a really varied selection including books, trinkets, jewelry, furniture (!!?!), and a host of other things. In my purchases I've found the counter staff to be typical mall fare. There is something for everyone in this crowded, fun store! It had the most people in it of any store I saw at Bellevue Mall (except Apple of course). There are baby items, wine items, books, jewelry, Christmas ornaments and so much more. A great place to buy a little souvenir for someone, which I did. three friendly sales people approached for but then left me alone (thank heavens), and one even took me right to what I was asking for. A very enticing place to step into given the beautiful star lanterns hanging in the windows. I will bring my daughter back, but have a larger budget next time! read more

Costumer satisfaction is clearly not one of their goals. My wife bought a handbag at the store a few months ago and it was falling apart after only very mild usage. These issues happen and most stores would just take it back for a full refund plus an apology. Not this one. They only refunded a fraction of the original price since the item is now on sales. They had no replacement in this store, so that the refered to another's stores sales price as the basis of the refund. There was no understanding whatsoever on their side that this might not be consumer friendly... Well there are many other choices in Bellevue. read more
