In December 2025 I visited Michaels in Issaquah and no prices were posted on the shelves. When I brought my basket of items to the counter to scan, the prices were exorbitant so I left with nothing. I don't know if this was due to understaffing or a transition to dynamic pricing, but it shows a distain for the customer. I'll avoid Michaels unless they start posting prices again. read more

I go to this Michaels usually for the selection of Diamond Art, and holiday decorations. It's also great to go there with my puppy. The other night, an employee, I believe her name was Elliot, was very friendly. She went above and beyond to see if I needed any help. She was awesome. I was asked to join a membership in order to order balloons. I did not want to join, but it sounded like it was the only way to order. They said they had put in the order, but I don't trust them. I had to write to cancel this membership that was going to charge me a yearly fee. Several times when I tried to call Michael's directly, after several rings it would cut me off. I need to know if I have ordered 20 helium balloons for July 7 7/7 to be picked up before noon that day. Has this order been placed? read more

I enjoy Michael's. It's one of the chains that keeps my hobby addiction going. They supply this well with coupons and sales, like the one that sprouted up in the promotions section of my email account, telling me that fine art supplies were BOGO. I was in need of some varnish, gel, gesso and alcohol inks so I was pretty stoked. Was gifted a free bunny in a basket as it was a couple weeks before Easter and it was a gift with purchase. Had not received that before at Michael's. I don't know if that was a one-time marketing gimmick or if they will be doing that type of thing again in the future. This store is medium-sized for a Michael's and is well stocked and clean when I've come in. I usually go to other locations as they are closer to a lot of other stores I go to for shopping, but this location is close to the office so I should try it out more. The locations in Lynnwood and Southcenter are much bigger and have better selections in wood and canvas. read more

Very rude interaction with manager, name is Salem. First, online pricing is lower than in store and they do not honor even same online prices. Associate suggested to place order online and come back for pick-up in 1 hour. I came after the hour, order was not ready yet. They told me it would take couple of minutes. After 15 minutes, they said will take longer. Asked the manager for cancelation, said it will be canceled but cannot give a written confirmation. I asked for written confirmation, manager started getting rude and pointing finger at me. I respectfully asked to treat customers with respect and the manager highlighted customers are not always right. Yes, I was wrong, but by trying this store. Very sad experience. read more

Every time I need something specific, it could be a small button, mesh bags I use to put hair in to keep my roses in check from the deer, a clasp to fix a necklace, Halloween decor, a cute frame to put my pets photo, etc., I come here. And I've never left without finding the little treasure I need! So glad Michael's is here when I need it and it's conveniently by my other fav store PCC. read more

The worst service of all time!!! The rudest employee denied us access to the bathroom saying "it's closed for the evening" half an hour before closing! This was a man saying this to me and my mom. Not only is this ridiculous generally but we found this particularly egregious considering that we are two women. No apology, rude tone, glared at us. I had the most fantastic framing experience here!! Annalisa is an absolute gem!! Extremely knowledgeable about colors for matting and styles/colors for frames! Endlessly patient with me and my indecisiveness. She helped me decide on the matting colors when I wasn't sure, and her advice was absolutely spot on! She did such a fantastic job with two papyrus pieces I'd purchased on a recent trip to Egypt, which weren't the most sturdy of items. You can tell the amount of care put into the framing!!! She also did a fantastic job re-glassing a piece I'd accidentally dropped off a bookshelf, with zero damage to the painting, and she fixed the frame!!! Incredible employee! Deserves a raise! Today I wanted to share a very unique and incredibly special moment that I experienced while shopping at Michaels store #2038. Upon checking out with my son Jack, who has been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism who was dressed in his new Captain America costume, a store associate named Betsy commented on how she loved "his" movies. Jack was genuinely thrilled because he thought he was mistaken for the real Captain America. Leaving the store with a huge smile across his face. As a mom, when someone puts a smile on your child's face it fills your heart with such happiness. It took but a moment for Betsy to truly give joy to my son and for that I am eternally grateful! To put a cherry on top of my experience, Sarah another store associate who assisted me checking out, was so beyond lovely. She was professional, kind and very pleasant. I have worked in customer service for a number of years and it was this kind of level of excellent customer service that not only met but exceeded my expectations. I've been using Michael's for almost 10 years for all my custom framing needs. But the last 3 years, especially at this location, service/professionalism has slowly gone down hill to the point that I won't use them ever again. They don't listen to what you want done and/or they don't do it incorrectly. My last piece I had them complete, they scratched the print and dented the frame. read more

I am not a fan of Michaels after I placed an order for pickup, using my rewards. The order got cancelled and my rewards got nuked. Phone customer service did absolutely nothing for me. They were horrendous. I didn't shop at Michael's for a year. This year, Michael's offered me a coupon I couldn't refuse so I bought items for pickup, which were a huge bargain. I figured it would be their test. They passed, I got my items. The Issaquah staff is super nice and the supervisor/manager? who is always there is one of the most helpful, friendly people in retail in recent memory. I found myself thinking about the staff, so I decided to write a review to point them out. All of my stars are for the staff. Michael's gets none. Corporate is still horrible and Michael's prices for the most part are down-right thievery. I won't buy anything big there, and I certainly won't factor in rewards when I judge how much I'm paying for things because rewards are a scam if they take them away because of a computer glitch or whatever and you have no recourse. I'll try other stores first. But for some things, I'll still try Michael's just because of the staff. read more

OK so this is not rating the store per say but the amazing Manger at this location. Her name is Michelle. Talk about going above and beyond for a customer. Long story short... I started a yarn project and over half of the project complete ran out of yarn. Every store was out. She called and called until she found my yarn... She had it shipped to the Issaquah location with in days. I know how hard it was for her to do this for me so I cannot say enough good things about her....She has been with the company for over 20 years so you know she loves what she does and it shows. I shop here often and spend lots of money monthly... Yes I will keep coming back and yes they try hard to give you customer service... This is a great store for all your crafting needs. They don't scan your membership card anymore as of Feb 2013. They take an email address so it keep tracks of what type of products you purchase. They will email you coupons on those types of products you frequently buy. Sometimes I wish they open more cashiers when the line. Parking isn't too bad. read more

It's a decent craft store. It has a huge selection of a variety of crafting items from fake flowers to scrap booking to a large selection of frames. They have rather narrow aisles so the store does feel cluttered like you're going through a labyrinth of crafts and craft materials without a sense of the store's layout. The associates on the floor are a bit unfriendly. One darted down an aisle when he saw me coming toward him and another just looked at me and said nothing when I said hello. It was odd. I started working on some various art projects and I can see some pluses and minuses with Michael's and Hobby Lobby both. I like Michael's 20% off coupons and such. Both stores seem to have good selections but most many holes and empty spots and that might be with the virus. I bought a drawing and sketch from Michael's due the 20% off coupon. I will buy from the store that is cheaper and selling the best quality product. Overall, both stores are awful to get assistance on the floor in most cases. I went into buy a calligraphy set. I was looking for brushes too-most Japanese/Chinese influence. Both stores were not that good in that regard. Michael's had many pen drawing calligraphy sets and they were all broken open so I was afraid to buy them to find that something was missing. Hobby Lobby had a good beginner variety set on sale and I went to the register to buy but there were 10 people in one line so I went to put it back but then I saw when I came back, she had called for another cashier so it was 5 people in each line. Both cashiers were not fast and efficient and did not seem interested in moving quickly. I did buy the kit but would have put it back again if the line was long again. I usually go to this Michale's because it's in my neighborhood and I like brick and mortar stores. After today, i'm done. I had bought the critcut air online when it first came out and sent it back because it didn't do what I needed. The critcut maker came out recently and I was hesitant to purchase it. The staff was very nice and she told me that she loved hers and if it didn't work out, I could return it to the store. The employee at the front said that as well. So I purchased it. I tried it that day and it wasn't able to do what I needed. (It sucks but hand cutting the intricate pieces looked better). 4 days later I brought it back and they said I had to send it back to the manufacturer. If I had known that, I would have done more research before purchasing. read more

I shop at other Michael's, but the Issaquah store is hands-down the worst organized, messy, tight aisled, and overall frustrating and anxiety-inducing of them all. Went into Aaron Brothers next door - they had a half off sale for Canvases... but I noticed their prices had doubled. (Strange how that works). A 4x5 1inch canvas at Aaron was 190, discounted to 95 plus tax. I went next door to Michaels and got the same canvas (dif brand) for 100 - 40% off coupon was 64$. Amazing how different the pricing is. Had fantastic customer service from an aesthetically stunning Kaleigh at the register. Michaels should get six stars. read more

This is the worst Michaels I have ever been to. I have checked in for an item numerous times and they haven't had it, which I totally understand, but when I ask about it they either ignore me or give me an answer that doesn't even answer my question. Tonight I went in and asked about it again and the girl I asked was digging in a cage up front for something. She told me that she didn't know and told me to look where I just did, then another employee walked up and they both turned their backs to me when I was still standing there! Michaels is the only craft store I go to, for canvases, paint, etc. People have complained about the service in some of these reviews, but my experience, especially as of late, is that its amazing. We were in on Sunday, and had a beautiful, personable, super helpful freckled lady named Julia, who once again, gave fantastic customer service. Most of the time when I visited this Michael's the staff was OK to friendly. One visit I encountered one of the rudest cashier's I've entered encountered. She yelled at me and refused to wrap a shopping cart worth of fragile items. I ending up making a complaint about her and the store manager did all she could to make it right. Even discounted the items I purchased to a higher percentage than the coupon I had with me when I originally made the purchase with the crazy, B%$tchy cashier. So folks who are unhappy with the service at this store, it pays to complain. I ended up with a huge bargain on a fairly large purchase. This is the kind of place that makes me wish I had artistic and creative talent (+5 stars just for making me have unrealistic dreams on talent I never had and up until that afternoon, never cared for). In dire need of a label maker and after finding a 40% off coupon at Michaels, I decided to come in here on a weekend afternoon. This place is huge - in a cool, but also overwhelming kind of way. If I was into scrapbooking, I would have blown whole paychecks here buying all sorts of stickers, those little photo corner things, scissors, etc. - but like I was saying, I "wish" had I had artistic talent (because I have none, really). Back on to the hunt for a label maker. 15 minutes later we were all lost. We had gone through scrapbooking, made our way through woodworking, passed all the model kits, photo frames, actual framing services, wedding stuff, and were rolling around in seasonal/Halloween items. Okay, this is ridiculous. My husband and I agree to split up to try to find someone who can help us. Finding help here isn't exactly the easiest. They don't have people who walk up and down the aisles to make sure you're finding things okay. Don't get me wrong, there are people who work here - they're just in a cluster together talking about who-knows-what. I approach two associates and ask about the label maker. I am told "I think it's on aisle..." Now in most places, even Safeway, they will walk you to the aisle and show you where to find what you need. Don't expect that here. And let me be clear: Telling me "I think" does not inspire confidence in the person who now has to meander around the store hoping that you did tell me the right aisle, because if you didn't, now I'm going to have to come back and find you again (-1 star). Luckily the label maker was on suspected aisle x. Awesome! I grab it, spend another 10 minutes looking for my husband and son, then check out at the register. Turns out my item was on sale - not that it was marked anywhere to show that it was on sale (-1 star) - and therefore not coupon eligible. The associate scans my coupon anyway. When I ask about my 40% off, she's like, oh, you see this symbol on the screen? It means that it was on sale. Oh, okay. Yet for some reason she went ahead and scanned my coupon knowing that it wasn't going to work - and she still has to take my coupon from me?! It didn't make a whole lot of sense. The associate at the check out counter just seemed to be going through some half-hearted motions of getting me to get out of the store. She never smiled at me once and when she explained to me my item was on sale, she did it in that "Ugh. I have to deal with a customer again?!" tone of voice (-1 star). Like others have said, these people here are not the friendliest. We left with plans on never coming back... I'm positive I can get everything else I need somewhere else. read more

I want so badly for this michaels to get better! Crafting is a fun and fulfilling hobby, with endless possibilities of what you can create, and going here simply depresses me. I feel like most of the employees I've encountered don't care for (or aren't showing any zest for) any kind of love for crafting or creativity(or customer service). It wouldn't be nice to go into michaels and be surrounded by kindred spirits. I've encountered maybe two employees that fit that bill, and I wish I had caught their names...All others did not. If I am able to find an employee who looks like they are approachable(rarely ever), they never know what I'm asking about, and don't care to find out. I'm sorry but it should be your job to educate yourself on the products the store carries. This has got to be a managerial issue, because they are the ones who hire, train, and set the standards for the people who work there. They are responsible for setting the tone for the rest of the store. Michaels issaquah managers have failed miserably. Hopefully michaels district managers will find a replacement managerial team for issaquah that knows the simple art of how to attract, inspire, and motivate employees- therefore producing a rewarding place to work and exemplary employees. Take note michaels higher ups: You know you've got a failing customer service team when your customers (me) spend more time answering their own questions via Google, rather than asking the employees you are paying to do the same thing. Customers are willing to overlook many negative things about a business if they feel welcome and like their business and questions matter. Make customers feel like they are at a local small business craft shop, where the owners live down the road and their kids go to school with your kids. That's what people want and crave, and it only comes from a well formed team of workers who care about their jobs and the happiness of the people who walk through those doors. read more

I like going to this store. It's a little out of the way but they always have what I need and then some. The staff is nice compared to other stores in the area. Once I went there with a friend and she accidently got rung up twice for an item. The cashier didn't notice but my friend did and pointed it out. The cashier was very apologetic and quick to correct her mistake. You would think this is common practice at ANY store, but it seems like at craft stores, the staff likes to make the customer feel like you're annoying them and you almost have to always state your argument about everything. You don't get that at the Michaels in Issaquah. It's worth the extra effort to shop there and the weekly coupon is nice too. read more

I'm not a Michael's regular - so I had no idea where to find what I needed. Eventually I found someone to help, and they were very friendly and had what I needed.
