I love supporting local businesses, but this feels exploitative: Pokémon cards were priced at 125% over MSRP Jellycats were 36% over MSRP, far above what other small retailers charge Melissa & Doug toys were 25% over MSRP Most of these brands have strict pricing policies, and if they were aware of this markup, they likely wouldn't allow their products to be sold here. It's frustrating to see such inflated pricing, especially when there are other local stores--like Fireworks and Carousel--that offer fair prices and great service. I want to support small businesses, but not at the cost of being taken advantage of. I hope this store reconsiders its pricing strategy.

You can find so many innovative and new toys, books, and learning supplies for children of all ages, many of which I couldn't even find on Amazon. The store is very well stocked and the employees were very helpful. It is huge! We ended up buying a pointer with a finger on it that my baby loved, and he still plays with it today. I was excited to find out that there is a Lakeshore store near me in DC, and I look forward to shopping there as well in the future!

I've slowed down and discovered this amazing store because like many people, I ran out of space and had to consolidate my Legos. With this came the risk of pieces breaking off and pieces being misplaced. Bricks and wheels staff was knowledgeable and I could find some hard to find pieces to complete existing builds. As with most kids born in the 80s, Legos were a staple growing up. Now that we have three boys, they are an absolute mess! I remember legos being awesome in the past, but didn't remember them being as cool as they are now! The selection they have here is solid. They have both older and newer sets, many of which are prebuilt, but also many of which I've never been assembled. The owner has everything arranged by set category, and of all the sets we've ever bought here, we've never found one that didn't have everything that was expected. They have tons of individual pieces if you're looking for specific stuff. One of my boys needed a bunch of wall pieces recently, so we came in and it ends up. They have a bin of just wall pieces. That made it a lot easier! They also have tons of mini figs that are all sorted by type in price. If you're looking for animals, dinosaurs, cartoon figures, storm troopers, figurines from specific sets, doesn't matter, he's got them! The prices are very fair and they do take trades. Next time you're in the area, it is absolutely worth stopping in! We do literally almost every time we drive-by.

Island Books is an amazing bookstore with plenty of nearby parking, an extensive collection, and…read moreoodles of charm. Bookstores are challenging to find and independent bookstores with new content even more. My friend and I stopped here on a whim and from a glance I thought it would be smaller than I had expected but it ended up being much longer than wide offering a ton of content with an easy flow. We were far from alone as there were many other customers milling about, and that is where I saw this little store shine as it was fairly easy to navigate without feeling trapped on enclosed. There were areas to step off into and let people pass, the check-out counter moved quickly, and everyone was super polite. I was very impressed with all the content. There were many different book sections as well as fun gift ideas and funny stickers. Both my friend I enjoyed walking through the aisles taking everything in. I certainly will be back and hope that my bibliophile friends come by to check this store out!

I went to visit Redmond for the weekend and I just so happened to come across this store at the Town Square plaza, in which they had a new restock of various Pokemon cards. There were quite a few people waiting outside for the store to open. Eventually, an employee unlocks the front door and comes out with a box filled with random numbers. Instead of just running in the store and buying everything, the employees have a number system. You pull a number out of a box and that is your place in line. The numbers range from 1-45 or so. Once in the shop, each person is only allowed to purchase one Pokemon pack, bundle, or ETB a day. If someone wanted more, then they'd have to come back the next day. That means you must choose your product wisely. I can't tell you enough how much I love that system. In a world full of scalpers, I totally respect this place for not allowing that sort of garbage happening in their shop. I would also like to praise them for their amazing prices. For the most part, they sell Pokemon cards at close to MSRP prices. It's a little over, but not by much. If you want a First Partner pack, it'll usually cost you $50, but I got mine at Uncle's for $25. That was such a great deal because I got my Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle set, and an SIR Mega Kangaskhan ex. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely come support this place.
