Cool place to check out and add to your itinerary if you've never been (like us!). We came around 11am on a Monday, still crowded with us tourists but easy to navigate inside and out. Street parking may be hit or miss, but we just ended up parking at a nearby parking structure. Would definitely come back here again the next time we visite Seattle. CHEERS till next time...

Probably the most sought after tourist destination in Seattle, this market has so much to offer. First of the small shops selling all sorts of local made items, ornaments, arts, jewelry, and hundreds of types of flowers. Then there are the regular fruit, vegetables, meat and fish stores, including the renowned fish throw and one hand catching traditions. Vendors are friendly, many spend the time explaining their products to guests. Prices vary depending on products, but most seemed reasonable due to heavy competing. It doesn't appear right away, but this place actually has six floors, each floor has many shops and restaurants inside. We found the oldest comic book store here on the 4th floor. There was a coin store and magic store as well. The famous Gum wall is also located inside this place. For visitors they also have a beautiful outdoor deck looking out to the Olympia mountain range. Despite all the good stuff, it seems the market lacks little bit maintenance. The signs are not as clear and enough to let visitors know what's available at this location. People and cars move side by side in Pike St, just in front of the market's entrance that makes it little dangerous.

You can never go wrong with Pike Place Market. The flowers alone are worth it--fresh blooms in the spring and summer, and beautiful dried arrangements in the fall and winter. It's the kind of place you can just wander through like you don't have anywhere else to be, taking in all the new faces, the energy, and yes, even the reality of people who are struggling. It's a mix of great, sad, and everything in between--but that's what makes it real. Every single person working there deserves credit, no matter what they're doing--from the little donut stands to the women arranging those incredible flower bouquets for everyone passing through. They're the heart of the market and what keeps it going. That said, it's always a full experience for us--usually a "two-year recovery trip" kind of walk-through because it can get pretty intense with the crowds. I swear I could take a photo of my face wash water after leaving Pike Place... it's that level. Give it a microscope. But honestly, it is what it is. Just remember the people working there are what make it special--so be kind, be patient, and enjoy it for what it is.

When in Seattle, the trip is not complete until you visit Pike Place Market! This is an iconic staple of Seattle and there is so much happening all at once here. From fish being tossed across the crowd of people to beautiful bouquet flowers, tulips, etc. and lots of delicious food to try out such as their clam chowder or piroshki bread. Locals warned me to visit best during the early mornings to avoid crowds and tourism. I took a rapid redline (bus) and walked on over to the pike place market. I walked around but most shops were still closed. Still, I was able to take a few selfie pics on my own with beautiful views of the waterfront and Ferris wheel. I had coffee at one of the local shops near Pike Place Market. I avoided Starbucks because I wanted to support locals. Plenty of shops that offer cool souvenirs, small flower bouquets, local vendors and even their famous hot apple cider stand was noted. Also, the gum wall is not far from this location, at walking distance you will soon find yourself in the alley.

Iconic! Was such a gem of a stop on my Seattle bucket list. Was able to take the link on its first day running and walk down to this awesome public market... we have something similar in San Diego (liberty station) but this one is way cooler! Was such a beautiful day by the water and there were so many amazing food stalls to choose from... we had mee sum pastry (wow was this place good.. we had red bean paste sesame bun, truffle shu mai, pork stick), pikes place chowder (this place is number 1 for a reason), and coffee from the crumpet store (yum).

At the heart of Seattle, there is a place where the city breathes in rhythm with the sea and the footsteps of millions. It is called Pike Place Market, and the moment you see that red neon sign glowing over the street, you realize you've stepped into something more than a market you've stepped into a living story. Established in 1907, Pike Place began as a humble farmers' market where local growers sold produce directly to the people. Today it welcomes around 10 million visitors every year, yet somehow it still feels personal, human, and wonderfully alive. The market unfolds like a maze of discovery. Outside, the streets hum with musicians, laughter, and the scent of roasted coffee and sizzling food drifting through the air. Inside, it's a vibrant labyrinth of color and craft. Local artisans display handmade treasures, farmers stack tables with fresh fruit and vegetables grown in the fertile lands of Washington, and the seafood counters glitter with ice-covered displays of salmon, halibut, and magnificent Alaskan king crab that look like they arrived straight from the cold Pacific that morning. And then there are the flowers armfuls of them. Brilliant bouquets sold for prices that make you stop and blink twice, wondering how something so beautiful can be such a bargain. Wander deeper and the market reveals its quieter wonders. Follow the little bronze pig footprints across the plaza near Rachel the Piggy Bank and step out onto the terrace overlooking Elliott Bay. The view opens wide: ferries gliding across the water, gulls circling overhead, and restaurants perched along the edge offering meals with one of the finest backdrops in the Pacific Northwest. Film lovers might even recognize the setting from Sleepless in Seattle, where the market's charm helped tell a love story that made the city feel magical. And then there are the little rituals that make the place unforgettable the famous fishmongers tossing salmon through the air, the curious fortune-telling machines, the street performers who seem to play directly for the rhythm of the crowd. Pike Place has been preserved and expanded over the decades especially after a major preservation effort in the 1970s ensuring the market remains the cultural heartbeat of Seattle. Walk slowly. Buy the flowers. Taste the fruit. Listen to the music. Because places like Pike Place Market are not meant to be rushed. They are meant to be wandered, savored, and remembered long after you leave.

This historic market place is a tourist destination but definitely worth exploring. Plenty of unique restaurants, cool little shops, great produce and the iconic fish market. The fresh produce and seafood are a good deal for the locals and the delicious food items for whatever your taste buds desire. I highly recommend the chowder place and the pierogies.

Always a fun place to go! Watching the fishmongers toss fish, sampling the smoked salmon, and looking at the beautiful tulips. And of course, great people watching.

5 stars for Pike Place Market! My bestie and i love this place. As a Washingtonian, this is such a staple in Seattle and always lives up to the hype. The energy is unmatched, from the iconic fish throwing to all the local vendors, flowers, and handmade goods. It's the perfect mix of culture, food, and scenery, and I love just walking through and taking everything in. There are so many amazing spots to try, whether you're craving fresh seafood, baked treats, or a good coffee. Every visit feels a little different, and it's one of those places I never get tired of going back to. Definitely a must-visit if you're in Seattle Downstairs, they have a magic trick store and a cute photo booth so you can grab some souvenirs!!! I love getting fresh flowers from local vendors here.

I loved Pike Place Market, there was so much to see and eat. We went around 9:30 AM and it wasn't too crowded yet. Even when we had to wait in line, it moved pretty quickly. The only place that took a bit longer was Starbucks, but even that wasn't too bad. I ended up spending more time here than I expected because there's just so much to explore. The vendors are very friendly, many offer samples and are happy to answer any questions you have. Definitely check out the fish throwing, and I also picked up some smoked salmon that was delicious. One thing I noticed: the stalls in the women's restroom are pretty short, so when you walk in you can easily see who's inside, which was a bit surprising to me. The value here is worth it, many vendors sell local Seattle products and the produce and seafood are very fresh. I would love to come back again.

Great place for tourists and locals, and for people who have a long shopping list or those who don't and just want to kill time. Just visiting for the atmosphere is good enough! This place is busy, but especially packed during the weekends and holidays. There are so many restaurants and shops for almost every need imaginable. I like to come hungry and graze as I go. I love the Hellenika Cultured Creamery for dessert, although the lines can be pretty long at times. The area surrounding the market is gorgeous with nearby Waterfront Park, the piers, and amazing views of the water. I prefer to take the light rail here since finding close parking can be hairy. The station is only a few blocks away and you walk past some cool looking stores too.

    Kristina L.

Lots of little stalls but it's easy to get lost in here. We just walked around and checked out the vendors but didn't buy anything today. Will be back tomorrow! Options from seafood to flowers, homemade crafts and everything in between. There's plenty for everyone.

The well known Pike Market is the heartbeat of Seattle. It's full of life on any given day. It's Farmer's Market meets eateries. You can find fresh flowers in bloom, house made sausages and the entertaining fish mongers tossing the daily catch. It can be overwhelming; the spaces are tight and the crowds are plenty, but a must visit if you're in town. I stopped at one location ( can't remember the name) and got a crab cocktail. It was simple with fresh crab, cocktail sauce and fresh lemon juice. You can also visit the original Starbucks in the same area.

I'm confused about the hours: on the pike place website it says open until 6p. On yelp, it says open until 1 am. Which is it?

It's rain or shine. They are open :)

Question. I'm flying in for business and have a few hours to kill before I pick up folks from the airport. Is there somewhere I can set up shop and get a few emails done? I'd imagine there's someone with WiFi?

Any Starbucks could provide you with free WiFi.

What is parking like and do you need to buy a pass?

street parking, and good luck--its not that great. typically metered too.

    Parking near the market?

Public Market Parking Garage on Western Ave is the best bet. Right next to Pike Place and it's pretty cheap.

Is there someone within Pike Place that sells meat? I would like to buy a steak I can cook myself.

Check out Don and Joe's Meats, located under the Public Market Center sign/clock, right next to Pike Place Fish!

I see the hours are 7:00am-1:00am. What time do most of the shops and stands open? What is a general time. Are most shops open by 9am for example?

Most shops try to open by 9 am. However warm up by 10 am. And start closing around 5 pm.

What time do the flower vendors usually open and close?

9 to 5 typically. Summer there a little earlier and some stay a little later. Depended on the season

Do they boil seafood for us to eat there?

You will find several different kiosks offering raw and cooked seafood. Mostly fried items, I saw.
