What kind of store doesn't want to sell their items? Unbelievable! How do they stay in business? She even asked my 10 year old are you following me? I found that very rude! The worst store I've ever been in. First of all, we were a family of 4 and my children each got one. You took out that jelly cat you did not put on the floor on your own. We did not ask for you to take anything out besides asking if you had another quantity of the pink bunny. We knew nothing about the another one you brought out on your own. It's doesn't especially mean if we're a family of four we could do 4 transactions. So don't say we're lying when you caused all this. We are not your only bad review, we have seen your past reviews on Google. I still don't recommend this place to any families with children or anyone in general. Have a great day. You can stop replying and not opening it to the public because it's showing guilt. I'm sure I'm not the only bad review you'll ever get considering how you run your business. At the time of purchase, I specifically asked about the return policy and was told that returning books would be "no problem" as long as they remained unopened in their original plastic wrapping. When I later returned to exchange or return three of the books 10 days later, I was told that I could not do so because I did not have my receipt. This requirement was never mentioned when I asked about returns. As a longtime member, my purchase is documented through my membership account, so it is disappointing that this record could not be used to verify the transaction. I find this level of customer service unacceptable. If a receipt is required for returns, customers should be clearly informed of that at the time of purchase, especially when they specifically ask about the return policy.

And the owner is fantastic!! Aside from being a warm presence as you browse the store, she is also clearly devoted to quality. KOBO Capitol Hill is tucked away at one end of Broadway on a cute little corner that's easy to miss if you're not looking. They have an AMAZING collection of local and international art, books, and other small finds that make it feel like a new experience every time you visit. They also have virtual art shows featuring new artists every month, offering them platform to show off new work in a time where it might not otherwise happen. Due to Covid, they've taken a lot of precautions for their customers and staff, which I really appreciate. Private shopping sessions can be booked online, and curbside pick up was a really smooth experience!

I spend probably $150 on items here and I went back a second time because I loved it the first time so much. it was in the 2nd floor down had to go down 2 flights of stairs so its a hidden gem down there but if you have the ability to stop by do so. Quality/Quantity: They have ton of really great authentic Japanese items. Value: They have really good prices. I was able to pick up a really cool drawing of Otani that his wife drew in a frame for only $20 ($12 without the frame). When you buy anything baseball they throw in a cool card celebrating when Babe Ruth visited Japan. Outside be sure to check out the many Japanese books that they sell for only $1.00. Overall: This store is awesome and I definitely plan to come again the next time I visit.
