How can you not love this Divine and John Waters candle?

There are so many boutique shops in the Capital Hill neighborhood that if you don't make a point to check out every corner you are bound to miss one of these charming little shops. Standard Goods is just one of these shops for me. At this fun place they have a great selection of greeting cards that are very unique and definitely something you just don't see every day. There was men's and women's clothing that Steve and I both really liked and Steve fell in love with a long sleeved shirt so much he made the purchasing plunge! There was also a great selection of candles here as well. Standard Goods was a fun, refreshing shop to browse through in which the temptation to buy something is quite high!

Great Seattle shop! They have a good collection of candles, clothing, hats, greeting cards, bags, stickers, hair accessories, and other stuff. They have some Seattle merch too. Everything is also reasonably priced. Definitely worth taking a look around.

A place that I saw on a list of clothing shops from BAIT and it was only a few block away so I figured why not. I wasn't prepared for such a dope store. They had a good selection of outerwear, warm weather clothes, and PNW specific stuff. I wish I would've brought more money because I saw so much stuff I wanted to get. We ended up picking up some stickers for our luggage's designed by local artists (I think?). The cashier lady was super cool and funny. Overall this place was super great and I'd love to come back to pick up more stuff.

Keychains are great! Bates motel and the good vibes are my favs

Great selection of fun, thought provoking, socially conscious and some now politically incorrect cards, trinkets, clothes, and novelty gifts Oh so Big to so small you are bound to find something in your budget. So the next time you want to laugh and relive some of the 80's, stroll on in and bring your money because you will regret it and have to go back to buy that one thing you can't live without.

My super cute coffee girl pin is from Standard Goods.

I loved this little store when I made a stop during a recent jaunt to Seattle. I went in hoping to find postcards, stickers or pins that I could send to friends as souvenirs, and I found all of that plus plenty of cool apparel to boot. The curation in this shop is great. I get tons of compliments on one of the pins I bought there.

I can't say enough good things about this shop. They had funny cards, amazing jewelry, bags, and tons of clothing. They have plenty of options from locally made merchants. I purchased a canvas hoodie that is made right here in Seattle, and 50% of the sale goes to the local merchants. The salesmen and saleswomen were so friendly and made sure i was happy with everything i purchased. Will definitely come back during my next trip to Seattle.

Ten Tree plants 10 trees for every garment purchase!

Almost didn't stop by, but so glad I did as this was my favorite store that I visited during my weekend trip to Seattle! I loved the styles they carry and probably would have bought way more if I had more time to browse! Throughout the weekend I was on the hunt for a throwback Sonics hat, but couldn't find one I liked. I came across a gorgeous Pacific North West snapback in blue with a gum patch here that more than made up for missing on the Sonics hat! Discovered a brand called Ten Tree that plants 10 trees for every garment sold! It felt good to not only buy an awesome shirt but to do something good as well. I also picked up a leather bracelet for my wife that captured the feel of the PNW. However, I grabbed a large without thinking and it ended up being too big for her. She loved the look and feel of it though, but that was my only disappointment from my stop at Standard Goods. The next time I'm in town I'm definitely coming back!

This is my new favorite store in Seattle! I stopped by Alive and Well which is next door to Standard Goods and the thing that caught my eye to this store were all the different patches at the front window. I had to go inside and check it out! Once inside the small shop, you see a different variety of everything. From Quay sunglasses (that were on sale), patches, pins, clothing, plants, bags, greeting cards, hats, shoes, etc. My first time in the store (yes, I came twice during my short trip) I was a bit rushed since I had to be somewhere after. I bought pins (heroes for hire; I know the owner!) and I came back my second time to buy the "Capitol Hill Seattle" crew neck. I can never make decisions easily so I had to put it on hold and think about it. I told the lady I'll probably come back for it since I didn't have time to try it on. She gave me a 20% off coupon since I already used the 20% check in coupon on Yelp for my pins. The lady said it was their first batch printing those sweaters so they didn't sell it online. I really liked how simple and clean it looked so I bought it since I love Capitol Hill! My friend checked in after she purchased her things and realized she missed the 20% off just for checking in on Yelp. The lady working was happy she mentioned it to me (so I wouldn't miss it) and they were nice enough to refund her money. My friend was the first person to ever use it so they were happy that it worked. I will always stop by Standard Goods when I'm visiting Seattle so I hope they're still there when I come back! :)

Great stickers and tons of local patches for locals and souvenirs.

Love this store for patches and pins. They also have a great loyalty program and some awesome staff!

Shockingly tactless and condescending employees. There are better places to buy just about anything they stock.

The jewelry is sold at a very reasonable price. They also sell products from other brands, like Baggu and Chunks, to name a couple. They jam your…read moreentire order, no matter the value, into a single USPS package, which is only insured for up to $100, and with their brand plastered on the outside, making it a target for mail theft but impossible to be fully reimbursed for if/when the contents get stolen. After a number of emails back and forth, they were not able to send me the original mailing receipt which is required to file a claim with USPS, so it seems unlikely I'll get anything from the claim anyways. They even gave me a "tip" that I should look into getting a secure mailbox, as if that would prevent an empty box from being delivered in the first place. In the end, I spent $140 for a box with nothing more than tissue paper and promotional material. Oh, did I mention they generously offered to send me the products again if I pay 60% more than I already paid? Thanks, but definitely not going to throw more money in your direction only to lose it again. Update: Just to clarify, this is not a case of mailbox theft...I was physically delivered an empty box by the carrier. There is always risk involved with shipping, and as the shipper, it's your responsibility to ship in a way that reasonably reduces risk and puts shipping liability on the carrier. Since you put more than $100 of your product in a box that's only covered for up to $100, you put the risk on the customer. I can't possibly be refunded now. You also could have reduced risk within reason by not advertising on the outside of the box that there is jewelry inside.
