I stopped by pipe + row a couple of times while visiting Seattle and had a lovely experience! The shop has lots of high quality clothes and accessories, with a solid natural fiber selection. From the moment we walked in, the team greeted my friend and I in a friendly way, and I noticed this wonderful energy extended to every customer who walked in both times I shopped there. They mentioned the availability of more sizing than what's displayed to everyone. The bright windows and the way the clothes are displayed made the whole shopping experience as enjoyable as I'd hope! Is there a reason you don't display any sizes that aren't XXS-medium? As a woman it feels like a humiliation ritual shopping here. There is not a single size large or above of any item out on display at the store. I went with my friend on Saturday and the whole experience was off putting. Two words...... Joah Brown. I am a huge Joah Brown fiend, and it is basically impossible to find in brick-and-mortar stores. Even in Los Angeles itself! It's very possible to find everything this shop offers for cheaper online, but there's just this instant gratification of seeing how a piece of clothing is gonna look, and then making a satisfying splurge at my local small business. Popped in today, a rainy one, and happy we did! Cute shop with lots going on. I already knew I would like it by checked out their Instagram. Vagabond boots are super chic and they have lots. I saw a mannequin at the back of the store in an outfit that I could have bought the whole thing! Sadly, the jeans weren't in my size but love the jacket and then went to check out and the associate was wearing a super cute blouse that I had to try on and fell in love! Walked out spending a little more than I planned but with two classic black super chic pieces. Loved the babes working, the vibe and supporting a small business. I was really loving the jewelry too so I'll probably order more online and will stop back in next time we're in town! read more

I discovered this shop online since I do not go into stores these days. The shop is not near me and I have to have items shipped. I love the brands but was not familiar with many of them and needed help with sizing. Each person I spoke with, including 2 managers, were incredibly nice, positive and knowledgeable. I love my new purchases, by Paloma Wool and Agolde brands. The items were shipped free and arrived in California in 2 days USPS priority mail. I especially needed help with the size and model of the jeans. The sales folks there actually sent me 3 pair and after receiving each, I took photos so that we could reevaluate. The third pair is perfect. I cannot more highly recommend this store and the staff. read more

I am giving 2 stars rather than 1 because the clothes are fairly cool. Yesterday my friend and I went to a sidewalk sale there, and 3/4 of the sales clerks were extremely rude and snobby to us. We received cold looks, attitude, and they did not allow us to try on the clothes. They stated that we could try clothes on "over our current clothes" but not use the dressing room. They also did not provide us with a bag for our purchases. I bought 3 items and my friend literally bout 10 pieces of clothing. Just two weeks prior, we had gone to the same store and spent hundreds of dollars on non-sale items. I do not understand where sales clerks making minimum wage (and who obviously do not have much going for them given that they are all in their 30s with deadend retail jobs) have the right to treat two young professionals like dogs. Honestly, we are never coming back. read more

Pipe + Row has edgy, modern clothing with a European aesthetic--a real find in Seattle. Nicely curated selection, with lesser-known clothing labels, including Amour vert, Joa: Los Angeles and Asilio. Friendly staff, great vibe. Pipe + Row reminds me of my very favorite clothing store, Density in San Francisco. It would be great if they carried more shoes & please, please get in-dressing room mirrors for all the dressing rooms. Do not shop here. I ordered a Stutterheim rain coat from Pipe and Row for $325. It took over a month to arrive when I was told it would be 1-2 weeks. After hanging the red rubber rain coat on a copper/glass hook on my coat rack the metal had a reaction with the rubber and the hood got dark brown stains all over it. I literally had never worn it even ONCE. I brought it into the store and the sales girl called the owner to see if she could order me a new one, which would have been the right thing to do. Not only did the owner refuse to order me a new one, she told me to take it to a dry cleaner! As if a dry cleaner would be able to remove metal stains from rubber. What a joke! She didn't offer to pay for the cleaning either. If you refuse to warrant the products you sell you shouldn't be selling them and I will never step foot in this store again. read more

This was a beloved favorite of mine in Seattle until I made the mistake of making a purchase on their e-commerce site using a coupon code I'd found online. The owner, Kayla, wrote a passive aggressive email betraying the 'free returns' policy since I'd used said coupon code. The shoes arrived with a 'damaged' sticky affixed to the bottom of the WORN heels. I ended up going through PayPal for a refund of the purchase and had to pay $20 for return shipping because Kayla refused to do so as part of the condition for my using coupon code. Glad I only had to pay $20 to know who not to go to for my online retail shopping needs. Try totokaelo instead - much more upscale in customer service and product quality and well worth the price. read more

Specifically, I was worn out from searching for jeans at multiple stores with very little skilled knowledge. The folks here know what they are doing and info they provided me was much more accurate than other places regarding Lycra and cotton content of jeans now. I work in Fremont a few days a week and realized I had severely under-dressed in a rush, and needed some boots and a warmer sweater or coat if I was going to make it through my workday comfortably. I went into Pipe + Row and asked if they had any shoes that didn't have leather (I try to be mostly vegan) and was shown a few pairs of shoes that weren't super warm looking but very cute. I explained that I had under-dressed and was cold. The woman helping me was super sweet about this and showed me some shoes that were pretty warm in my size and some socks (but not quite my style). I told her I would think about it. She suggested I go to Burnt Sugar two doors down and said they carried a variety of vegan brands and boots. I went to Burnt Sugar and got some cute rain boots and socks (yay!). I realized I was still cold and needed a coat, so I returned to Pipe +Row and said I appreciated the recommendation for another store and wanted to come back to support them. She assured me that I didn't need to come back just because she had suggested another place, and I said I had wanted to anyway because the clothes at Pipe + Row were so nice. The woman helping me said that they had some jackets and some cloaks. One of the coats was so pretty but a bit pricey for me. She draped a cloak around me and I fell in love! It was like being able to wear around a blanket in public and have it be acceptable! So cozy and within my price range! It also felt totally elegant. I asked if she was the manager, and she told me she owned the place. I told her it was such good service that I would have wanted to tell the manager if it wasn't her.
