This is a good boutique with some solid finds. Affordable and appealing accessories. Staff that gives you space to browse without interruption. Great. The trick is that Veridis is rather dimly lit. This makes for a relaxing atmosphere but TBH I need to *see* how something will look in a bright office or on a sunny day. Upon first waltzing in here and browsing through the lovely selection of pretty fem dresses I suddenly wanted to shout out "whhhhheeeeeeeee"!!!! Happiness is a beautifully made dress to me! Really nice selection of pieces and designers. Hello, House of Harlow, Cynthia Vincent's girlish dresses, and Vena Cava etc. They also carry some fine men's assortment of clothing, shoes, and bags! Very impressed for Seattle. The owner is really fantastic and brings a semi-uniqueness to us Seattlites for dress wear. Just know that you'll spend the $$$ here! I love clothes. LOVE them. I was an apparel designer for 8 years, so I guess I'd better, right? Nothing makes me happier than seeing a handpicked selection of great silhouettes. Great lines, interesting prints, pleats, gathers, pintucking: You'll find it here. It's true. They have some amazing clothing in store. The owners/buyers have a great eye; you can tell that every piece has been chosen with care. Labels I haven't seen since my work trips to London, NYC, Paris even. Great accessories and shoes... and the space is lovely. But... what good is all of this if there is no customer service? No hello, no good bye? No nothing from the pair behind the counter last night as we browsed through the racks, the shoes, the accessories. They seemed to be much more interested in whatever was on the computer screen. And with nobody else in the store but my guy and I. *sad face* When someone else did enter the store, who seemed to be a friend, well, they were happy as clams to chat them up. I waver between 2 and 3 stars for this shop. The ladies apparel = stellar. Pricey, but stellar. The mens = less expensive, more T-shirts than anything... but ultimately, when it boils down to it, I'm a fan of some service. Doesn't have to be much... but a little acknowledgment goes a long way. Veridis is a small boutique with a small-ish collection for both men and women. They utilized the space really well and the owner/buyer curates a terrific collection of preppy-casual-edgy items. Most of the items are on the more feminine side, which is awesome for me because that's more my style anyway. The fashion jewelry are delicate and versatile, rather than big, bold statement pieces. They have a lot of unique pieces I've never seen anywhere else, but what I love the most is that all the clothing items are very high-quality: soft, flattering material that are mostly practical (read: machine washable). Definitely more on the pricier side (at least for me) but still not ridiculous, average price is about $80 for a top and $150 for dresses. I highly recommend it if you're the type who likes to keep a small-ish wardrobe with long lasting pieces you can match and mix with everything. read more

From small items like scarves, wallets, and jewelry to larger pieces like jackets, dresses, blouses and skirts, you'd be hard pressed to find something here you didn't love. I am in official obsession. I have been driving by this place for weeks and unable to find parking... But the summer heat has inspired me to park my car and use my feet, feet which finally carried me to my new best friend, Veridis. It is not often that I come upon a place where I not only want everything, but I spend days fantasizing about ways to make money that don't involve prostitution so that I can actually own everything. Veridis carries a gorgeous selection of very tasteful, elegant pieces from smaller designers for both men and women. Clothing, shoes, accessories, and dreams. Also the lovely shop girl (owner?) was extremely helpful and highly enjoyable. Fav pieces included the most amazing Vena Cava dress ever! (oh yes, it is mine...), silky black tee, a super soft zip front tank, and the perfect, nude, zip up bootie. Once I get an actual job, this place will be a very frequent stop. I had passed by this store many times, without really giving it a second thought. The window display never caught my eye, and being a very picky person when it comes to clothing, having been educated at a fashion school in Paris and having experienced the best shopping of NYC and the European capitols, I just walked by it as if it were some run of the mill dissapointing Seattle boutique that claims to be "high end". MISTAKE!. Being in the industry, I never pay retail for anything, and know the cost of fabric/production etc., but I did not hesitate making my purchases here. While the inventory is quite limited, the owner has managed to make sure that every piece has something special about it. Subtle details like pleated pockets, draped backs, and high quality fabrics make each piece timeless, yet cutting edge. I purchased a basic gray T, but it had slits in the shoulders and suede trim, as well as a high quality button up silk blouse that feels like butter with pleated pockets and a sheer draping back. Her stuff is modest enough to wear during the day, but change the shoes/makeup, and it looks super sexy in the evening. The prices are not cheap, but not astronomical either. She chooses pieces that are worth their weight in gold, and that are an investment. The price range is comparable to that of Nordstrom Saavy. Since this is a fairly young business, that explains why the inventory is so limited. Even if she does have some of the same inventory as Barney's or Nordstrom, I always prefer to spend my money in small businesses. I hope more people shop there so that she can expand the shop and offer more great pieces. All in all, if in Seattle, this place is one of the best places to visit. read more

She ended up spending quite a bit of money but the owner was nice enough to give her a little volume discount. I love Veridis for those special, staple pieces that you'll have for years. The striped leather oversize clutch that I got there earlier this year gets me more compliments than anything else in my bag lineup (yes, I have a lineup. What can I say? I like a nice bag), and the Helmut Lang dress I just got, while an investment, is something I know I'll get a ton of wear out of. All in all a stylish, cool boutique. I understand that designer brands in a small business will inevitably come with boutique pricing, but it would also be nice if thegthp price also bought you some quality. I spent some time here last time I was back home, and picked out a couple rings from House of Harlow. I was told by the lady working in the boutique that the tiny gems inlaid in one set of the rings I purchased were black diamonds; a later search online revealed that they were simply pave crystals. By the time I realized this, it was too late, since Veridis has an exchange-only policy, and I sure as heck didn't want to buy anything else in the store after that experience (also: wouldn't have been able to afford anything else other than little rings).
