I always want to try something new so my daughter picked this spot. I loved how everything looked. I liked the little candle on our table. So many food choices. I chose the pasta with the sausages hoping it was going to be spicy and it was, as you get closer to the bottom of your bowl. It was very filling. We sat outside, so it got chilly. I wish I had a sweater. They have indoor seating, but we got seated outside which was fine till it got cold. Service was good. The worst part was the parking. I should have looked for a cheaper spot instead of close to the restaurant. Oh well...

First time at this location - I like that you have the option to sit in the courtyard area or inside- menu gives you the option to add protein for an additional cost. I opted not to do that but found the food had excellent flavor and the grains were very filling. Service was very good and was not too busy. Decore inside has a very California vibe I'd say. Not too fancy and light and airy. High quality napkins feel like real cloth. Bathrooms were very clean and had great decoration. Price was a little higher than what I want to spend for lunch but quality through and through.

We came in for a late lunch on Sunday. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait. The restaurant is clean and inviting. We ordered the cauliflower and dumplings as appetizers. I highly recommend both. Our appetizers came out before our drinks. Taking about 15 minutes. Other guests enjoyed the jambalaya, pizza, salmon, and carrots. I ordered the chicken Parmesan, I suggest not ordering that dish. Very bland and nothing to write home about. The matcha latte, margarita mocktail, and iced shakerato were tasty. Cute spot for lunch.

Recently had a chance to dine here. It's been here for ages, but never quite made it here until recently. On my visit, I was able to try a few dishes. + burger + hummus + edamame truffle dumplings + kale salad Out of all the items, my favorite was the edamame truffle dumplings. I probably personally wouldn't order the hummus again as it was a little too dry for me. The space itself is really nice and spacious. Located in Old town Pasadena, it's a great spot if you're looking for clean good eats.

This is one of my go to spots in Pasadena for meeting up with friends and family. They take reservations, have a full bar, and a varied menu that I have found can suit anyone's tastes and preferences! They have options for those with dietary restrictions and also can modify as needed. My favorite dishes are the edamame dumplings - SO GOOD - and the air fried chicken sandwich, but everything I've had is tasty. The ambiance is also really nice - it is a large space with both indoor and outdoor dining and is a nicely decorate space. Service always very friendly and professional. Definitely recommend :)

This restaurant uses only avocado and olive oil when preparing their dishes. Unlike, similar establishments who use other seed oils, which are less healthy. I ordered a tuna bowl with black rice, edamame, jalapeños and avocado paste. I also ordered a side of roasted cauliflower. Each dish was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They have several locations, one being in Las Vegas. The menu is vast offering a variety of dishes.

This True Food Kitchen is located in the Old Town Pasadena area. There's parking structures nearby and street meter parking around the block. The service is excellent. We were seated with enthusiasm, and our server excelled in attentiveness and explaining recommendations. I got to try a variety of items. As an appetizer, the edamame dumplings were excellent - umami, somewhat nutty and creamy. However, it only came with five dumplings and was small for the price. As a side, the cheese mash potatoes were addictive! For entree, I got the jambalaya pasta which - it had spices, sausages, chicken, and bold flavors. For the pizza, I got the seasonal butternut squash raisin pizza - it tasted healthy, but was not for me. Overall, True Foods has a varied menu that can please all palettes. Their customer service is great, and their healthy seasonal plates are worth trying. I'd come back.

I come here often and the service, ambience and, most importantly, the food have been great! Ample outdoor seating so it's beautiful on a nice day out in Pasadena. I can't complain about any dishes I've had. If you're looking for an organic centered restaurant with delicious food, then I highly suggest you try True Foods Kitchen. I haven't been to other locations but I can say this one has been consistent for years. The one item of all the numerous dishes we've tried that was not a hit was the air fried potatoes. Reservations recommended for peak hours and weekends but a pleasant place to wait if needed. Doesn't have it's own parking lot so look for metered street parking or surrounding public parking lots. Great location at the end of Colorado shopping street so a good place to walk around after you've enjoyed your meal.

Ancient Grains Bowl with Blackened Salmom

Love love love True Food Kitchen in Pasadena ... anytime I eat here it makes me feel so healthy. My go to order here is the ancient grains bowl. My protein of choice is usually the blackened salmon. I love getting this because there's a good variety in this bowl - sweet potatoes, grilled onion, quinoa, snap peas, mushrooms, and a delicious sesame pistachio pesto avocado paste. It never makes me feel bad either -- a great healthy option :) I have never eaten this here but always order it to-go since my work does pick up for lunch. I would love to come back yo enjoy the sit down experience though. I'll be back v soon! :)

Came to celebrate my husband's birthday. Location is on a great corner spot. Parking was easy. Two large dining sides with a cute little courtyard Ordered butternut squash soup which was very flavorful. Cauliflower and Brussels sprouts are super delicious both are must haves. We split the mushroom beet vegan burger with air fried fries the bun was fresh with tomato and lettuce and pickled purple onion. Shared the kale salad with shrimp and parm cheese. Ordered the Juniper Rose to drink which is a gin based cocktail. I don't like gin but wanted to try it our server called it the patio ponder. WOW yes patio pounder for sure it was so fricken good you need another hence the name patio pounder. Lol service was friendly and the staff pleasant. My only complaint is not enough lighting. Over all this is my new favorite spot. Have to give it 4 Stars because the lighting was just not right.

I've passed True Food Kitchen for years and was excited to finally give it a try! They have a variety of items on their menu that focuses on "healthier" ingredients and they clearly state the calories and protein for each item, which as someone who tries to eat high protein, I really appreciated. I ordered the lasagne al pesto, which had turkey sausage bolognese, pistachio pesto, organic spinach, ricotta, tresh mozzarella, basil. Overall, I wouldn't say I was mind blown with it, but it definitely satisfied my lasagna craving while not feeling incredibly heavy like a more traditional lasagna. I also ordered a carrot cake to go and I was pleasantly surprised by it considering that it was gluten free--it was still super moist and flavorful. The restaurant itself is beautiful--it's a great spot for date night or to catch up with friends. Service was also friendly. It's located in old town Pasadena, so street parking can be a bit tough, but there is a cheap structure nearby that you can park at.

We made a reservation in advance for Saturday afternoon. It was a little busy but not too bad. We started off with the Brussel sprouts appetizer. Charred and flavorful. I got the Apple lemonade since it was in season. That was amazing. There was cinnamon on top but I couldn't taste the lemonade so much lol. My friend got the chamomile tea. I opted for the ahi tuna bowl. That was interesting to say at least ! I did like the grains and the seasoning. I added some limes on it. My friend got the all American burger with air fried fries. There was a lot of seating outside and inside. Pretty bigger than expected ! Coolest part is that you can see the kitchen as you eat. Very IBS friendly. They usually don't use any seed oils. Lots of options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free

Food here is very safe, trite, hackneyed California cuisine beaten to death like a worn out horse. It's not ready bad and not very good offending no one, but food that is boring and not particularly drop dead flavourful. I wasn't super hungry and decided to order more of the sides. 1) French Fries with some skin on, looking rustic, had a touch of that ineffable earthy potato flavour. Asked for extra crispy, but just got a bit crispy so their default fries must be rather limp. Standard ketchup in a steel ramekin. 2) Roasted Golden Beet & Arrugula Salad had sweet, softer, smooth texture, Arrugula had a fibrous, good green herbal, peanut oil scented flavour. Not too funky, creamy goat cheese. Roasted walnut halves. All napped with a subtle Champagne Vinaigrette. Portion was about half of what would be expected in other comparable restaurants. 3) Bread Pudding: The bread was spongy, moist, eggy almost like a flan but lacked a deeper dairy, milkiness as well as lack of hints of warm spices such as cinnamon, allspice, ginger, cloves. Bland would describe the general overall flavour. Topped with cream rich ice cream. Scattering of blueberry, blackberry, strawberry. At home, I drizzled on Grand Marnier for more citrus cognac aromatics. 1-3a) Iced Tea The food here seems to be the Midwest version of what California cuisine should be. Middle of the road, steady as she goes, don't rock the boat. Our waitress was efficient, helpful, thoughtful in a business-like manner which facilitated our group of 8. The male helper with a moustache and the inked hand was great at keeping our glasses topped off. 3 stars for a safe, not overly effusive food that does not offend. The outdoor optics holds the charm and strength of this restaurant.

The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

Service: 5 stars, our server Kiana was outstanding. I troubled her for a glass of ice, she…read morebrought me a glass of ice and filled it with water for me and said I filled it with water for you! She read my mind and knew without me saying. They serve lukewarm water and the a/c was on but was not on ..if u catch my drift. The front hostess was also phenomenal, I had reservation for outdoor seating but since she saw that the sun was like glaring, she asked if I wanted to change to inside. Very obliging and accommodating. Food: 5 stars, surprisingly good, right amount for us. I was full but I can see where other reviewers say portions are small. It's small if u're a heavy eater. But the quality is definitely there. Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .
