It's amazing that a place like this even exists on Oahu and I'm so glad that it's here, because I…read morefelt like I stepped into the old Bone Room when it was on Solano Avenue in Berkeley, California. The Bone Room sold many fine items, like Gothic Alchemy jewelry, bug specimens, home decor, minerals and rocks, antiques and incense; Hound and Quail has all that except the Gothic Alchemy jewelry and human/animal bones. They do have some taxidermy, antler horns and a hanging (fake) skeleton, which caught my eye and lured me into the store. As soon as you step into the store, you feel like I entered a portal into a past time where old Victrolas ruled, steam trunks were the "in" luggage, men's swim suits looked like women's, when skeleton keys actually worked, and when people had to actually write letters and wait for a reply! If I were on Instagram, I'd tag this store with the following words: magical, curated goods, historical goods, household decor, old, antique, men's, taxidermy, leather, man cave. I actually did not want to leave. I wanted to stay there all day, and even possibly the next day and maybe the day after that. One of the owners, Mark, was super nice and attentive and genuinely happy that I was enjoying their taste in curated goods. It's pretty epic, you gotta go check it out yourself! I parked in the Chinatown Municipal Parking on Bethel Street and it was pretty cheap at 50 cents an hour on a Saturday.

A delightful cabinet of curiosities, Hound & Quail is a charming shop of carefully curated gifts,…read morecards, art, stuffed animals, bugs in lucite and so much more. There is some serious attention to detail going on here and items in price points that will appeal to everyone. If you're interested in decor or gifts that run...shall we say...far left of center...then this is the place for you.

My family and I visited Oahu the beginning of June 2026. On one of our shopping days we visited…read moreSoHa Living. my daughter and I fell in love with the store right away loved the vibe. My daughter found a few things that she really fell in love with. Once we got home, I went online and ordered the items and few extra things I liked. I thought it would be fun to surprise her. and she was missing Oahu so much. After I did the order I received an email stating that two of the items were not in stock anymore and I was so disappointed I sent an email. Just checking to see if they were sure, and if there was anything else we could do or if they were going to restock. Maria from the Home Office was the one to get back in touch with me and she was fabulous. As I was looking through the stock trying to pick something different, she emailed me to tell me that they found my two items. I was so excited.and I was so pleased that she took the extra time to look for the items for me. The extra effort she put in shows what great Customer Service this company gives their customers and by the way, my daughter absolutely loved the two items. Thanks so much Maria and thank you SoHa Living

Everything is jam-packed into this place, so expect to feel a little overwhelmed as your eyes dart from one thing to another. If my suitcase wasn't already full of crap, I would've bought something from here. But definitely recommend stopping by to check it out.

It's a really cute store. Lots of great stuff…read more However, I really dislike that they sell shells and coral. I don't understand why on earth they would sell those things? It's not sustainable and ocean friendly. You're a store in Hawaii where you need to be ocean and eco friendly which I don't think that is. Please reconsider selling these things because I find it hard to shop in the store and supporting this.

" I came the other day to return a Christmas present my daughter received! The sales clerk would not give my a merchandise credit even it was clearly a SOHA Living item marked $35.80 with NO red line! She said since I did not have a gift receipt or know my daughters girlfriends name so they could look it up, there was Nothing she could do!!! Really? I asked for the supervisor/manager! That's when Rita came to the counter, again asking me all those same questions that I didn't know! Why should it matter?? I have your merchandise, not marked down!! Plus, I showed her a 1/2 page advertisement that was in the newspaper stating "After Christmas SALE up to 70% off". I had come in on 12/26 and there were only signs of 50% off! When I asked, what was 70% off, the girl at counter said it was online! But she couldn't find anything online that was 70% off! So very misleading! FALSE ADVERTISING!! So when Rita said she had to call her manager, I told her to ask about the ad! Well, Rita returns and finally gives me a gift card for $35.80. No tax? I'm sure all my credits have included the tax!! Also, she didn't talk to anyone and just decided to do " the right thing" But claimed she did not give me a hard time! I really like this store and appreciate 2 sisters who went to Punahou started this business and SoHa Keiki but will have to think twice on patronizing them because of the bad customer service! Please note that I gave this business a 5 Star Review on 4/18/2018! Wow, how much has changed in those 6 years! So sad!!
