He came on time & tried to find out low cost yet efficient way to fix, so I can save money. He fixed the issue & offered me less than half price of the quote. Very honest man. I highly recommend & will hire him again for another project.

Sorry but it's a long but worthwhile review. I really don't like giving bad reviews since it can…read morereally affect a business. But I felt I needed to in this case. I called Anytime Handyman to come out and replace 2 damaged doors and install 2 new doors. I sent a text message to let Tyler letting him know my lock box number since it's a rental and no one will be there to let him in. I gave explicit instructions as to which doors needed to replaced. (it was obvious because of the visible damages). He sent me the estimate, I agreed and paid for the doors so he could order it. They went back to the rental, and installed the new doors as planned. Here's the prolblem, they took off the wrong door (not damaged) and put the new door on. Leaving the damaged door still damaged. That's not the end of it, the latch was not installed properly, it had a hole and crack. As for the other door that they installed, there was also a problem, the strike plate and latch were off centered and wasn't closing properly. I called Tyler to tell him the wrong door was removed and replaced, and sent him a snap shot of the text I sent him when he went out for the estimate, explaining which doors needed to be replaced. His answer was, that's not how he interpreted it. Everything seemed to be wrong with the job. From the wrong door being replaced, to the damages to the door and the other door's latch not closing properly. He said not to worry and it's normal it's not a problem, just let him do his job. Now I'm no handyman but I do know how to install a lockset, and I've never seen a hole of that size, nor did I ever see a strike plate and latch installed at an angle. In Tyler's defense, he did say if I'm not happy he would give me a new door. But at this point, my trust with their quality of work has diminished. Not even a new door would make me continue to do business with them. I will take that loss, and stop all remaining repairs with this company. Update: I read the business owner's responses to my review. First of all, the "so called Painter's" was my daughter and son in law who came over the weekend to help paint the doors, only to find the damaged doors and discrepancies on the other door as well, including the wrong door that was removed. I would have no reason to damage these doors that I had already paid in Full upon completion on Weds. Lastly, it speaks volumes when a business owner would illegally break a homeowner's right of privacy and send photos to anyone requesting it, without prior authorization. I stand by my review.

He was always on time, incredibly patient and polite, and went above and beyond to make sure that the repair was done to a quality that the owners of this asset would be happy with and that I as the paying tenant would be happy to live in. He went above and beyond to match the existing walls and floors (with repeat trips to the store to physically go through flooring by hand to find the batch that was the most accurate), and as a result the repair is totally invisible and the area is cleaner than it was when he started. I am thrilled and relieved. 10/10/10 recommend. When we own our own home I'll be keeping his contact for future projects, and will be recommending him to everybody. Mahalo, Julian!

I contacted them Sunday night and by Monday morning they had contacted us and set an appointment…read morefor that same day. They arrived on time. The job was to install a door from our laundry room to the outside. My 78 year old partner had tried to install it himself after waiting 3 weeks for a Home Depot installer to contact him. When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb. I would highly recommend this company.

I had several issues with this company. Do not waste your time or money…read more Context: We need to repaint our home due to HOA requirements, and I reached out to 9 contractors across Oahu, including Handy Andy. 1/ They were the ONLY ones to charge a fee for an "on-site visit," i.e., just viewing our property and drafting an estimate. The charge was $175 and was "applied as credit" for the job; otherwise, if we don't move forward with them, it would be non-refundable, which is already a scam because of problem number 2. 2/ Between the 9 contractors, the quotes for the SAME painting job of our house I received were between the range of $6100 to $7800 AND exactly one at $16,073. Handy Andy quoted nearly DOUBLE what every single licensed painting contractor and company I reached out to is charging as of 2026. They articulated in their quote that they would try and price match any licensed contractor, but why would we trust them when they are so far from the average, and they are not transparent about what paint they're using, which would help us discern the quality? (see number 4) So now they keep the $175 for stopping by our house for 10 minutes, because there would be no way we would go with them after doing our research. I will note that I understand gas can be expensive, so I would not have minded paying a smaller fee for the trip to subsidize that cost, despite no one else charging us, but there is no way it cost $175 to send their intern (see item number 5). 3/ Every single contractor except for Handy Andy included minor wood repairs, chips, etc within the total cost, still not exceeding $8000, which was not the case and came at an additional cost to us. 4/ Every single contractor, within their quote, provided the exact paint they were planning to use, which helped us discern the quality of paint (For reference, the highest tier, the Ultra Premium option from Sherwin-Williams Rain Refresh, was quoted at $7400 in total for us), but Handy Andy did not include this information in their quote which would directly help us understand the value of what we are paying for. 5/ For the onsite visit (which they had to postpone for the following day after I had already changed my plans to accommodate their timing), every single company/contractor I called, the person who was either going to paint the house, owned the company or be part of the team that was going to paint showed up... except for Handy Andy. This young individual showed up to do the assessment. He said he was their scout and would not do any part of the actual paint and repair job. I asked him basic questions about priming and caulking, and brought up questions and concerns, particularly moisture treating, because Oahu is obviously very hot and humid, and he was unable to answer, often saying, "I'm not sure I know what that is, but I will get back to you." Considering I paid $175 for this individual, I would expect him to know the basic requirements of homes here. Overall, my husband and I are very upset that we spent $175 just to get a quote that was double the going rate on the island, and we feel like we were scammed. Don't waste your time!

So happy to have found Bob!…read more I called him this morning, Sunday, because I was led to believe that I could easily change my toilet seat, no problem. Well YouTube makes things look easy until I tried it. Got the first bolt/wing nut removedd and the other was frozen. Could not remove it to save my life. We only have 1 bathroom so I needed to get this done quickly as I can't tell my 91 yrs old mother to just hold it. Bob called me back in like 5 minutes. Provided my address and he said he would be here within an hour. He got here in about 30 minutes. Took one look and brought in his tools. Got the stuck bolt/wing nut off in less 15 seconds. Yes, he's a professional. He clean up the area so he could install the new toilet seat, which I purchased thinking it would fit properly. It did not. Bob just fliped the bolts backwards and then it fit perfectly. He explained to me that the seat was one of those auto-slow close seats (had no idea) and he showed me how it worked so we don't have to force the lid to close. Obviously I had no idea what I even bought. Just assumed it would be okay based on the description. For coming out to me in a rush on a Sunday morning to fix my screw up - priceless. The charge was $80.00 and worth it in every way. Gave a little extra to buy him lunch because I am so appreciative of him getting it fixed. Would I use him again, in a heart beat. I have a bunch of stuff to fix around our apartment, which I will get to slowly. Thank you so much Bob! P.S. Post a picture of my new toilet seat. Yes, I still have to mop the floor but I was so happy to see it installed lol

If you need a reliable and trustworthy handyman, Bob is definitely a great option. I would not hesitate to contact him again for my home repair needs.

I needed to replace the entry door to my unit and was recommended to Fix It Oahu. Long story short the entry door to my unit wasn't the easiest to replace. I was quoted around $900-1000 for the installation. The installation ended up taking longer than they thought due to unforeseen issues with the door frame. So instead of taking a day to install it took more like a day and a half. After the job was finished, I was told that unfortunately the price had gone up from $900 to $1400 for the additional labor and supplies. I'll be honest although it was a tough entry door installation, I wasn't a fan of the difference in cost. That's the only reason why I gotta give a 4/5 stars on my review. I wanted to try and save myself as much as I could prepping the door myself and finishing the body working and painting myself. Shout out and big thanks again to Brad!!! He does exceptional work and is very attentive and detailed. Awesome job on my entry door brotha I'm sure that him and the crew at Fix It Oahu will be more cautious with their estimates going forward. Quality workmanship for all of your home needs!!! Thanks again Fix It Oahu!!!
