Friday night of a 3-day weekend during peak holiday season in New England is probably not the best time on which to base a review - or to actually visit a place like this, very crowded. But a group of us went anyway. We all enjoyed our beers. I was pleased to be able to sample a well-crafted Mexican Chocolate Stout. But first-time visitors might have an awkward time unless they're paying close attention. We walked right to the bar area, right past a desk with a floor-level sign saying you had to check in there to get a table. We had no problem getting our beers, but when we went to a table, a waitress very politely asked us if we had been seated, and told us we should to back to that front desk. If we did not want to do that, there was one area (not full), where we could sit and place an online order for food which would be brought to us. The front desk told us there would be a 45 minute wait, so we opted for the second option. But here, too, the website said there would be at least a 35 minute wait to have food delivered. So this time, we passed on food. So the moral is, if you're only here for the beer, you will be fine and have a great time. If you want food as well, you will need to gauge the size of the crowd here. I'd certainly come back for beer, and I'd also order food during slower times. read more

Latest update: Swung in on our way home and grabbed some drinks and dinner on a Saturday around 4:30. Hostess was much more helpful than last time and wait was less than predicted. Sadly I think it's because they never cleaned the table. After we got that cleaned up and dried (they have paper menus that they put down in the puddles of the previous diners drink condensate that had accumulated on the table) we had some delicious drinks. I noticed when the table on the side of us left they also did not clean the table before seating the next party. Not sure what was going on that they kept forgetting? The cornbread was to die for. I could go back and eat 3 orders of it myself. The pretzel was basically a super pretzel and the mustard was fairly plain. The pizzas are always good especially the roni but our cheese only was a little under done and for some reason had basil on only one side. The Cuban, grain bowl & French fries were all delicious but not really anything special. I would get food here again but not come here just for the food. Honestly love the beer and food here. We love coming with family and meeting friends but recently it's been a zoo with unsupervised kids! We bring our own young children but I can't believe what is going on out by the grass and with no one reacting. Kids climbing in the trees, running through the caution tape they have up for grass to grow. Jumping on the fence and planters. I have to start that the beer is great and the variety in indoor and outdoor space makes visiting Trillium good for all groups and occasions. It is a big space so you see a lot of different staff members moving about, either waiting on tables or filling water stations etc. staff are friendly and approachable but not annoying, saying "hi" half a dozen times before you find a spot to hang. While the beer is world class, the food is "ok" but at a premium price, and really the only area for improvement and where minus points came from. At the time of posting, it was $12 for the chicken tenders (see small takeout container with 5 pieces of chicken) and the pizzas range from $22-24 for maybe an 8-10" thin crust pizza. Went there last Saturday for a family get together. 15 of us. My brother in law angered the bartender in the outside station for asking for a water. He said the guy was visibly bothered and ignored an attempt at small talk. The line inside for beer was about ten deep with one slow server making us wait at least ten minutes to get to the front. The pizza was almost inedible it was so salty. Trillium doesn't appreciate their customers and this is based on a half dozen visits. We ordered two starters, the corn bread and French fries thinking we'd pick at these then order sandwiches, these filled us up and we were pretty disappointed we weren't hungry enough to get them. We had empty beers water everything for 10 minutes while our server nonchalantly walked by us at least 5 times. I went to lunch with my sister. This was a first and last visit. The restaurant was packed with small children running around unsupervised inside. This is a brewery not a children's play place. The margerita pizza looked like a greasy bar pizza, was loaded with too much cheese and barely any basil. The servers are great and have a hard time serving with all the children running around. I'm giving this one star solely because our waitress was great and did her best. This was my first visit after hearing good things about the pizza, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. As a brewery, I expected a more adult-oriented atmosphere, but there were many unsupervised children RUNNING throughout the restaurant, which detracted from the experience. The food was inconsistent. I ordered a Margarita pizza, but what arrived was essentially a plain cheese pizza with a few scattered basil leaves--not the traditional fresh mozzarella and basil I expected. My Caesar salad came out drenched in dressing despite requesting it on the side, and it took quite a while to get a replacement (which arrived long after the pizza). The side spring salad was fine. Everything here is top notch: the beers, the food, the beautiful (and HUGE) campus the brewery sits on... If you're a stout fan, this is the place to be! Nobody does a stout like Trillium; smooth as can be, high ABV and delicious flavor. They can easily get dangerous very quickly... The pizza here is absolutely fantastic, which is unexpected at a brewery. It's a neapolitan-style as they have huge wood-fired pizza ovens that are out on display in the bar area. The smash burger is great - nothing beats a classic griddled cheeseburger. The fries are also top notch. Pizza connoisseurs will also appreciate the quality pizza that they have here. There is even a soft serve ice cream truck outside. It's all a step above what you would find at a typical brewery. This is a very kid friendly place with mostly families during the day. The space is huge! There's an indoor restaurant as well as outdoor picnic seating with a variety of vendor stayions outside. The inside has long tables that can fit like 20 people hightops to fit like 6 or bar seating. The outdoor seating is if it's available snatch it up with the quickness. I went to the mexican food vendor I had the seasoned chicharron'e's(fried pork skins) they went well with my birria torts and froend taco's all 3 proteins which everyone was happy about. It was a good pairing. Froends had to get 2nd taco's because they wete good. I also had the refreshing watermelon slices with the tajin and lime. Everything looked and tasted delicious! The only downside was the bee's or flies! You must cover your food!!!!! You can grab a few different ales outside. In the former Reebok Headquarters, this brewery is huge! There's so much space inside and outside, there's something for everybody. It's also kid friendly, you'll see many kids running around. When it comes to beer, Trillium is hard to top. They are the mainstay and one of the leaders in the country for New England style IPA's. While they do a full compliment of beers, the NEIPA is the staple and the haziness and goodness of their offerings are hard to match. I judge every NEIPA against Trillium. Other than Treehouse, I haven't found anyone that can match their quality and taste. I've probably had 15-20 different beers here. This is art. Theirs wood fired pizza is pretty damn good as well. Quality food. The atmosphere is pretty cool both the spacious inside and the big outside garden. Service was great indoors. My friends and I picked this place as it was a halfway point between where we live. There was plenty of parking which is always ideal. Upon walking in, it was apparent they were family friendly given the amount of kids that were everywhere. To eat at the restaurant, it was over an hour wait so we opted for the to-go foyer just before entering. Since I'm not too familiar with beers, I took my friends suggestion of getting the summer street which was mild and easy enough for me to finish most of it. For food we shared the Squash w/ cranberries, goat cheese and caramelize onion while my friend with a GF allergy got their pork tacos. We quickly demolished the pizza as it was about 12" wide and incredibly thin. I advise people to request it to be well cooked since even though it was thin, it was still doughy. Flavor wise, I thought it was so bland. Even with the goat cheese, it tasted like there was nothing on it. The caramelized onion were thin shreds and barely flavored. The tart cranberries were about all I could tell was there. The three tacos tasted better than the pizza and were each filled with chunky pieces of pork. The tomato sauce poured over too helped tie the flavors together. Overall, we had an easy going experience. It's a casual place that we easily burned through hours of just relaxing while catching up. But since both meals were $18 each, I consider it to be overly priced especially since we weren't even in Boston anymore. However, since the tacos came in an order of 3 I can see that as more justified. Would come again but skip out on ordering their thin pizzas. read more

By far, the best brewery/beer garden I've been to. Trillium is well-known for their outstanding beer. From IPAs and pale ales to stouts and saisons, every style of beer they put out is world class. There's a reason why this brewery is consistently listed as the top brewers in the world. I'm not sure I can even call this place a brewery - it's more like a beer campus. The outdoor space is awesome for families and looking at those pizza ovens, you know the food is good. Everyone is super friendly. Love the little merch area they have.
