If you're looking for a true Irish bar experience, this is the place to go. It was pretty packed when we walked in, but we were still able to get a table for four without too much of a wait. Our server was super sweet and very knowledgeable about the menu. We started with fries and fried pickles for appetizers. The fried pickles were long, flat ovals with a lot of breading. They were good, but probably not something we'd order again. Everything else was very flavorful. Our server recommended the brisket grilled cheese and it was amazing. We also tried the pizza special of the day -- some slices were cooked a little more than others, but it was still good overall. We would definitely come back! read more

Love this place! Great menu, but we keep going back for our favorites. I love the tuna poke bowl, perfect balance of flavors and fresh ingredients. My husband has ordered the ramen bowl several times and it is fantastic. Just a little bit of heat to make it interesting. Got here on a Friday night, it was busy and was trying to find a bar seat which we got lucky and found. I got a maine cider that the bartender let me sample and enjoyed; Triple jam. We split poutine, dry rub wings and a onion mushroom pizza. I think I saw on a picture review the poutine was $9, we paid $14. As a poutine addict I can't say I thought it was very good. Gravy was a bit cold and just not flavorful. Cheese curds were good. The pizza was fair, was a bit too cheesy for me and could have used more sauce. I also had a slice on my plate and the bartender without asking me if I was done took it from me, I didn't love it so I let it go to waste, but call out to them you should always ask the customer if finished. The wings were definitely the best part. Dry rub was so good, not messy and the wing meat just fell apart and was very good. I did get forgotten for a moment when ordering a high noon, but it happens and it was busy. The place is very loud with people talking to if you aren't into loud noises this wouldn't be the spot. After placing our drink orders, we were excited to try the nachos, pretzels and pizza (which were all recommended to us), but only when we shared our order did the waitress mention their oven was down, so the nachos, pizza and pretzels weren't available. We would have left and come back, but we already had our drinks, so we decided to stay. We ordered garlic parm wings and the short rib grilled cheese. 8 wings with no celery, carrots or blue cheese was $14. We did request a side of blue cheese which ended up being no more than a tablespoon and a 50 cent charge. While the wings had decent flavor, they weren't very crispy. The grilled cheese had a generous portion of meat and the onion rings were tasty. I ate what looked like a small onion ring, but ended up being a piece of fried fish, which was a bit of a surprise. Pleasantly surprised with how much we liked this place! I was looking for a Kilkenny and went out of my way to come here for one. They did a proper pour and we really enjoyed our beer. I walked in to meet up with friends as I was intrigued by other YELPER'S reviews. One of my friends was already sitting on a high top with a table in front of her that we both believed was going to be to small. While waiting for our other friend to join we ordered the clili lime wings and Pretzel w/ dipping sauce. The reason I wanted to come by was because of their dessert selection, but my boyfriend and I decided we get small plates too. Service was a little slow, but we did show at a later time when the staff was a bit preoccupied with the drinking crowd, understandably so. Surprisingly enough, the drinking crowd around the bar which is most of the restaurant wasn't loud to the point we couldn't converse with each other which was nice. The drinks were delicious and came out quick. So did the food, but heres where the last star for this review got knocked off. The fish tacos were absolutely delicious. They were so good I wanted to order another order togo. But the nachos were not it. I bet they are typically good, and the toppings were loaded on top which is always a good sign for a nacho plate, but the buffalo chicken for whatever reason did not taste up to par. Something was off, there was a taste to it that I can't quite explain but it was almost like the pan they used for the chicken was used for something prior and they just didn't clean it because again, it just had some taste going on that was just not it. Meet up with some friends here and had a wonderful time! We were all arriving at different times and the staff was more than accommodating about that! Our waitress was excellent. She had an incredible memory and didn't have to write anything down. Not to mention, she was very attentive and friendly too. When I entered, I didn't know what to expect with the food and I was very happy with my meal. I ordered the power bowl, and my friends ordered pizza/fries. Everyone enjoyed their food. After we finished eating, we went to the bar to enjoy a few drinks! We never felt rushed the entire time we were there, and the staff continuously checked in if we needed anything! First time visiting C.F. McCarty's. Some friends and I decided to stop by for lunch and I can say the food and drinks were pretty good. We ordered 2 expresso martini (can't remember the price), garlic wings ( $14), pichana wedge salad with steak ($32), house burger with cheese and fried egg ($19), kids mac and cheese ($9). The reason why I'm rating it a four is because my kid did not like the mac and cheese, i tried it, it was very bland no flavor. My kid didn't eat it. When I was asked if there were any thing wrong with the mac and cheese, I informed the waitress and nothing was done about, nothing new was offered and it was not removed from the bill. This place was really good! Their special cocktails are incredible, you can't really go wrong with any. They're sweet and unique. I am only giving 4 stars because I wasn't impressed with one of the entrees we got--the hunters chicken pasta dish. It was a bit too spicy and didn't have anything too exciting. The pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente and the cheese was good. The CF Mac pizza was bomb though. I drowned it with Parmesan cheese and loved every bite. First time here. Very sweet waitress--couldn't be more helpful. Ordered their old fashioned from the bar; just ordered a second one. Perfectly made, waitress' suggestion. Large ice ball in the center, and fresh orange peel. Ordered their wedge salad that comes with a Brazilian sliced sirloin. These folks seem to know how to use balsamic vinegar, which is essential for a good steak (and it IS good!) as well as an iceberg wedge. Just learned my server is named Amy. She's very lovely. Several people (with masks!) have been careful to check on me, eating alone. Not at all intrusive--really well done! Sirloin with the wedge salad is superb. Not a thick steak, but still think enough to be tender, as well as flavorful. After having painful eye surgery last night, I hadn't eaten anything (mostly coffee!) for at least 24 hours, but this was exactly what I needed (but admittedly, I had not known it!). The old fashioned worked a charm on my pounding headache, and the epic service (and seeing smiling, happy people) added a huge amount of comfort in an otherwise uncomfortable time. I am looking forward to a return trip (Brazilian specialties and an Irish pub style is rather satisfying) before I upgrade to 5 stars. Enjoy! read more

Ordered a craft beer and they gave me a tiny beer and charged $$$. That's fine but indicate on the menu the prices and ounces. My husband's beer was supposedly a pint glass but the bottom was about 2 inches thick so clearly not 16 ounces. And the "calzone" was a pizza that they folded over and added cheese to the top. The waitress was lovely and this was clearly not her fault. However, never going back. I despise local restaurants that nickel and dime patrons. read more

Not sure how this place is consistently getting 4/5 star reviews. It's good--not great. Local watering hole in the center of Canton, Mass. I sat at the bar and ordered off the dinner menu. The bar was crowded and extremely loud. I ordered the tuna tacos (pictured). The flavor was relatively good but the sear on the tuna was not uniform and the seaweed salad base layer made for a very chewy consistency.
