    Guinness Stew

The Guinness Stew was Fabulous and the Shepherds Pie was also Wonderful. The Waitress we had was pleasant, sweet, patient and efficient. This was our first time eating here and it will not be our last. It was a great way to celebrate St. Paddy's Day. Everyone in the restaurant was happy and we could not have had a better experience

Really like this spot. Comfy booth seating. Very nice, attentive staff. Good prices. We stopped in after lunch to visit w/friends we haven't seen in a while. Only had a couple of drinks, no food. All the staff we encountered were very nice and kept tabs on us. Will definitely return to try some menu items.

    Eggplant Caprese Salad

I had THE BEST fried eggplant I've ever had in my very long life this past weekend! I love fried eggplant but detest frying it. I adore caprese, but was skeptical about the quality of tomatoes in December. Well - the Eggplant Caprese Salad was spectacular!! The eggplant slices were huge, plentiful and perfectly breaded and fried! The tomatoes had flavor that was augmented by the balsamic glaze. I couldn't finish the serving since it was so generous! I will order this again! Great job, Chef!

This is the "nachos!" Is that even cheese?

Fantastic genuine Irish neighborhood pub. Food may be some of the best pub food around and staff is top notch.

Walked in and no one said a word to me. I looked at a menu waiting for someone to acknowledge me or seat me. Never happened. So I left.

The weather, the beer, the food and a fun barmaid in a wood paneled pub are all single qualifies that makes me harken back to my past, living in London and then in North Wales in the 1980s. And the other patrons, Americans all, still were like an American version of an English pub crowd. There were young and old, posh business types, sitting next to manual laborers.. The barmaid (whose name was known by most of the regulars there, although I have forgotten it (alas I must be getting old!) is a pistol. Always chatting and joking, while she poured pints, and even Bells scotch, which is a standard blend found in just about every pub in England. The only sense that was missing was the ubiquitous scent of wood (oak) found in almost all of the pubs in Britain. That unmistakable scent you can find in the many old (generally Irish) pubs around Faneuil Hall, btw. When I asked the barmaid (always smiling and laughing) about the fish n chips, she gave a wink and said "ooh, Love. Ya picked the best day for that. The fish is delivered from the dock every Wednesday." I ordered a pint of Smithwicks ale to enjoy at the bar, as she took my order for fish n chips. She leaned forward and whispered to me, somewhat conspiratorially, that it's served with salad, as the owner has not yet found a coleslaw recipe that meets his standards. Very evocative again. I watched, listened and drank my ale deeply, as the barmaid described another barmaid as "so wonderful, the only thing missing is there should be two of her!" We all nodded and laughed. Fun place. The fish n chips arrived hot, very fresh and perfectly crunchy with beer batter. The chips (fries) were hand cut, as you could see the small bits of potato skin at the ends. Served with a very attractive and crunchy salad, and of course malt vinegar, it was a bargain at a lower price than the $20+ charged at many local watering holes. I ordered another pint, and then dug in. It was very fresh and somewhat thick piece cod. The flesh of the fish separates into large fleshy flakes under the crispy beer batter, and the chips had flavor (as opposed to the more common extruded fries usually found here). But it's more than just the food and the bar. The atmosphere at this pub is so very real--sort of the best aspects of some nice neighborhood cozy pubs in Britain. If it's cold outside, you can just shamble in, and rub your hands together and mutter "lovely" as you savor your drink and food. Welcome!

Our waitress was extremely friendly, and happily answered all questions about the menu and pub. She told us they have live music 2 nights a week (seasonally, I think), a weekly specials' menu, a pool table with specials' nights, and even board games available for patrons to use. The atmosphere is casual with wooden dining tables on one side, a long high table with multiple high seating running through the center of room and a long bar along the inside wall. There's a pool table in the rear. Tables had nice space between them; we didn't feel crowded in. The menu had all the modern pub favorites plus a list of chef's specials for the week featuring "an ingredient of the week". Thanks

The second time was years later cause restaurants around us ey5e packed and according to maps it looked like this place wouldn't be packed and my wife wanted us to go there again thinking it should be ready to find a seat. Well it was busy, but we were seated right away and it had room for a few more groups. As always my first criteria for an restaurants is if they bring you water when you sit. Call me picky but I have worked lots of places at a waiter and everywhere I worked the quality of every restaurant was in the details.. well here they didn't. However the waitress did remember that I asked for no ice which a lot of servers forget. It's loud like a sports bar but you can still talk at your table. The food is good and the portions huge. No one in our group could finish their meal. Plenty of parking as it's next to a hotel. A good place for a beer or a bite and the menu has a huge selection.

Ample parking outside in private lot. Highly recommend.

Food was alright, nothing to memorable. Our server was going home halfway through our meal and tried multiple times to close our tab. I get she wants to get her tip but it was an unpleasant experience as a guest. We were obviously here for the game like everyone else and was not planning to leave in the second quarter. Waitress kept coming back every 5 to 10 min to try and clear our plates. After the third of fourth time I just told her to take it away so they don't keep bothering us. Unfortunately that was my lasting impression after she closed the tab and went home. We could have stuck around longer to order more drinks but vibe was already ruined and it was a terrible game. I wouldn't suggest ordering a salad, it was basic iceberg lettuce with some shredded cheese and lumpy balsamic dressing. The quahog appetizer was actually really good and I would order that again. I ordered the turkey tips, they were good but not amazing. My wife ordered the Alfredo cheese bread and the sauce was a gloopy tasteless mess. My jack and diet was strong so that was a nice surprise. Overall, this is one of those places that locals will tell you it's great because they have eating the same 6 out of 10 dishes for 15 years. The service was good and they are nice people but it's nothing to write home about. If we were local we'd probably frequent, but driving 45 minutes we probably won't make it back here, if that tells you anything. Thanks
