New menu, but a severe loss in food quality. I've been coming every few months for the last 5 or 6 years. The last two times I've been, the food feels cheaper, and has a "reheated cafeteria food" sort of quality to it. I'm not sure if the place is under new management, or has switched to a cheaper wholesaler or what, but the fish in the "Fish and Chips" tonight were flavorless and crumbled apart in a very unsettling way. The fries which used to hold a good crunch and be of decent size are now no different than the flaccid tasteless fries you might get at an airport bar. We ordered nachos to begin, they were good but didn't go far with 6 people. Three of us ordered the pistachio chicken, which I'd had on a previous visit. The Irish beef stew used to be thick and super filling, but this year they didn't even fill up a tiny to-go cup the whole way. Less beef in it and not very thick. It's a fun and lively place that has several seating options (bar, dining room and outdoor patios). I've eaten here several times and have to say that you should come here hungry. The servings are large and there is plenty of variety. To be honest, everything thing I've tried has been delicious. I'd recommend giving the pistachio chicken a try. The flavor combination is well done and it has a nice diversity in texture with the smoothness of the mashed potatoes and the crunch of the pistachios as well as the crispness of the asparagus. The shepherds pie is a flavorful favorite for a cool fall or cold winter day. The burgers come with fries that look like they are all bonus fries. The drink selection is decent and the pour sizes are generous. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and friendly. My only critique would be that it can be a little on the loud side but certainly not overwhelming. In closing, it's consistent good food, friendly service, and prices that seem reasonable. I'd recommend giving this place a try if you're looking for a few drinks and/or you want to add some delicious fare with friendly, knowledgeable service at a fair price. read more

Terrible experience with their take out. First time they severely under cooked the steak on our salad (we like our steak medium rare...this was not cooked at all). Gave them another shot assuming that it was because it was a Saturday and they were very busy. Ordered again tonight. They told us 20 minutes. I showed up 25 minutes later. They asked my name for the order, proceeded to charge my card and let me wait for 15 minutes before asking me what I ordered. (Obviously they know what I ordered because they knew exactly what to charge me for when I told them my name upon arrival). They brought my order out and said it was under another name. By the time I got home (less than 10 minute drive) the food was cold to the touch. This place is fine if you can eat there, but DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT. read more

Thee must a have been five children under the age of two and another six children under the age of five. Is this an adult restaurant-bar or not. Really disappointed. We came here on a Friday night and it was very busy. The Raven's Nest is in a cute downtown location with outdoor/sidewalk seating, a large bar and a small dining room. The hostesses took our name and we waited at the bar. Service was pretty slow, but again, it was busy. Sat at our table and 20 minutes went by, no service. I had to go up to the hostess to inform them we hadn't been greeted by our server yet. Someone finally came by (no apology or anything) and took our order for an app. The calamari wasn't cooked. Our entrees were over cooked and something I could have made at home (not a good sign) and our server switched halfway through unannounced? I am very surprised that a place like this existed in Walpole. I'm not from the area, but stayed at my BF's family place for the week and I thought Walpole was more of like residential-ish place, like I didn't see strip malls, more of that small old town feel. When I entered this place, it was packed of a younger crowd, the vibe was great. The place was busy, place was decorated modern, and it was like in between a big establishment and a family owned. The food was the best food that I've tried my whole week visiting this area! I got the maple glazed salmon and it was delicious. It was nice and sweet and salty at the same time. The skin was all crispy (and normally I don't eat the skin!) Great amount of portions as well. I also got the lettuce wraps and it was amazing! Affordable bottle of wines too! Ahhh raven nest - they have the best wine pours. I can never remember how many glasses I have had because their pours are soo large. Her ABSOLUTE blatant Homophobia is on Full Display every time I have been in the restaurant. When you're in service industry you cater to All patrons You Don't pick and choose what you want to do. Food here is always amazing. I get the Parmesan chicken with the supreme sauce on the side. The only issue I have is that they never seem to have enough waitstaff. The last time I went (July 14ish) there was ONE waitress for the whole place, inside and out! I felt bad for getting annoyed but when it takes longer to check out than to eat there's an issue. I for sure will return and I hope that they'll be properly staffed in the future! **obviously I know with the pandemic it's hard to staff but the better option would be to turn away customers and keep service running smoothly read more

The Raven's Nest is quaint. The food is enjoyable and the service is great. Their nachos with chicken are really good. They were huge with a generous (and well spread) heap of toppings. The sweet and smoky chili was perfect, and my boyfriend really enjoyed the cilantro twist in the sour cream. The lettuce wraps are tasty. I've never seen such large lettuce leaves! Luckily the chicken and veggie filling is just as big. However, there are mushrooms. That really threw me for a gross loop since it only says veggies on the menu. The orange ginger glaze added a nice tangy taste. My boyfriend devoured his burger and fries so that should tell you how good it was! I managed to get a fry to taste and it was yummy. Crispy without being overlooked or greasy. There are separate dinner and lunch menus. They're very similar so what's the point in swapping out a few items? I would've loved to try the buffalo chicken sandwich. Also, my boyfriend was never given a drink menu and our table was wobbly. The table thing is a huge pet peeve of mine. read more
