In the neighborhood, and decided to try this place out. Great bar and the food was fantastic. Waitress was great and went out of her way to offer ideas and suggestions. Had the shepherd's pie with a pint and enjoyed both! The place had lots of options and a great selection of beers and drinks. Found out there are several locations, so my group will be back. read more

Napper Tandy's - Bar - Irish Near Me - Walpole, Massachusetts

A very average dinner experience, average ambiance and very average American bar food. The service was okay. The beef burger was not too bad. The veggie burger that I asked on salad was a little dry and the salad was meh . The Mexican flatbread was okay. The Buffalo cauliflower wasn't that good, some pieces bigger than the others were still a little raw from inside. We got cheesecake for dessert but it was too sweet for our taste and did not taste very fresh. It was dry, stale and I would not order it again. read more

It was our first time at Napper Tandy's and the food and atmosphere were excellent. Friendly service and larger place than expected with live music. Perfect! read more

Missed the train so decided to trail here for a beer. Requested a tab at the same time I got it, which never happened. (Eventually) finished the drink, and inadvertently was presented with another after they saw the empty glass. Said that I asked for a tab when I was served the first one. Got the tab faster than the first beer. This is honestly the darkest venue/bar I've been to, so not sure if it's ambience purposes or trying to save electricity? Tips are earned, not required, and the prime example why I carry cash. The next time I see/find out Crisp is closed, I'm turning around and going to Tessie's. There's some dive bars in Boston that I had better service than here. read more

Love the trivia, the food is okay, but I saw a mouse running under the tables twice now

Unfortunately, I lost my father suddenly in December. To honor him, we needed to find a place that was warm, inviting, but a casual place to gather for his celebration of life. I called Napper Tandys because it's one of the only places you can find POOL TABLES (something enjoyed by my Dad). I coordinated with AJ the Manager. He was amazing. Beyond accommodating; allowing us to arrive early to set up, providing any needed amenities, set up the buffet and served hot and fresh. I can't thank you enough, AJ and all the staff at Nappers. You made such a tragic time easier to navigate. I know our guests enjoyed it as well and will book there as well for events. Thank you again! read more

Ate here last night for the first time with my wife. The restaurant is an Irish Pub style of a place with two bars in 2 separate rooms, with tables also in both of those rooms. We sat at one of the rooms in the back were greeted by a very friendly, professional, polite bartender. My wife ordered The Crispy Fried Chicken sandwich, which came with fries. I ordered the Thai Oriental Salad, with an addition of 4 steak tips for only an additional $4. My wife's meal was only $12 and my salad only $17 total. The portions were generous for what we paid and the prentation of both were very nice and thought out. But best of all, both meals were very well prepared and tasty. My steak tips were top quality meat, no fat, etc. Also perfectly cooked. It that was an example of a consistent on going service in that restaurant, then we highly recommend Napper Tandy's in Walpole. read more

Food what was excellent, what was NOT excellent, was the completely inappropriate comments exhibited by my waitress, Jen. I came to enjoy a nice night, last night with my fiancee, I had planned to get some food and drinks and have a normal night, my friend's recommended this place so I was excited to try it. She continuously made advances/ flirtatious comments to me, while my soon to be wife was sitting right next to me. I was appaled and she was dismayed as well. I kept trying to divert her away from us but she was relentless. Unfortunately had to end the night early. read more

This is one of those places I wish I could leave 4 1/2 stars. Really good first time experience here. Got excellent customer service here, and the food was really good and better than expected. Steak tip special with some kind of peppercorn sauce,Thai Veggie Bowl with steak tips, and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had were the highlights. Will definitely be back. read more

I usually love this place, but last night was awful. My friends and I waited for drinks for 20 mins at a time at the pub side bar. The bartender looked miserable and lost. He did not pay attention to his customers whatsoever. I watched as many people waited for drinks around me getting frustrated, eventually ending up leaving his bar. I'm not sure how he is stil holding this job, as he lacks general customer service skills. I believe his name was Harry. Will not return to his bar again. read more

Good atmosphere and they have a Touch Tunes jukebox which I love! Drinks, good people watching and decent food are the best trifecta! Friendly bartenders read more

I've been here so many times, yet I've never written a review, so this is in part, to rectify that deplorable situation. Since I moved in down the street, I've been very impressed with this place. They have a sister restaurant in my town that is a bit closer, but this is worth the 4 mile drive for me. It's just much bigger, more relaxing, and offers a nice atmosphere. As far as the atmosphere, when you first walk in, it is split into two sides with two separate bars. They are very similar, but it does allow more of an intimate atmosphere rather than a big wide open room. They also offer a trivia night and they do it on one side, so if you are not interested, you just camp out on the other side. It has an Irish pub kind of feel, which is relaxing. They also have a separate basement with many nice pool tables and yet another bar! They truly have something for everyone. The staff are wonderful, and are very friendly and professional. They've always treated me nicely, and they must be doing something right, because the place is always fairly busy, and I see a lot of families regularly. The food here is high quality, and the menu is creative and unique. They take pride in the presentation of their meals, which is nice. Their bars are also very well stocked , and hey have one of the best beer tap selections in the area. There's always a few rotating beers that you can't find anywhere else. Overall, I love this place. It's one of my "go to" spots, and it's Great whether you are out with the family, with coworkers, or on a date. read more

Best Pub around for MILES! Pretty damn good food for a pub. Plenty of draft choices. A fair amount of food choices on the menu, a little something for everyone. Fair prices. And they've got the pool hall downstairs with air hockey, and a few dart boards for entertainment. This is another place I try to hangout at as often as possible. It's also the first place on my list when friends visit for a night out. read more

Napper Tandy's - Stuffed grilled chicken. Tasty. Well prepared and a good portion for me. - Irish Near Me - Walpole, Massachusetts

We attempted to go for dinner over the weekend. When we got there we were told there would be a half hr wait. Ok not great but not that bad either. As we were waiting for over an hr while there were 2 let me repeat 2 separate tables reserved for 10 people and no one in sight to fill the tables. And needles to say we were done no one ever came over to us to give us any indication if we would ever be seated. we would have still been there if we didn't leave. On the way out someone came over to us and said oh your still here? Well not anymore and without even an Im sorry for our crappy table management. We left. I can't stress enough this place needs better table management !! Two thumbs down!!! . read more

Arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday night and no bartender in sight. A customer said he was getting beer and would be right back. We waited 15 minutes just to be told it was last call. Bartender never spoke to us, it felt like we were intruding. Won't be back. read more

Man, let me tell you something! I have never seen such a place in my life! 9pm on st Patrick's day and they wouldn't serve us! Are you kidding me! Rude workers, no one was having fun. Awful. Terrible. Wouldn't spend a dollar here. Bullshit! read more

I drive by this place almost every single week and always wondered what it was like inside, so on a rainy Sunday my boyfriend and I finally decided to try it out! The place is nice and cozy inside, with 2 long bars as well as dining seating... although from what I saw, the dining seating is right by the bar, so forewarned to anyone coming in with kids, the bar is within sight. Our bartender might not have been the most friendly human we've ever encountered, but she was pleasant enough and waited on us timely. The food was AMAZING. I ordered the steak tips while my boyfriend ordered the BBQ mix... let me tell you, the mashed potatoes are perfect and remind me of the taste of home cooked, holiday, done right REAL mashed potatoes. Hell I'd come here just for those! Overall we were impressed with the decor, the atmosphere, and of course the food... we'll be back more often now to test out the rest of the menu! read more

We were regulars before Covid and have been so happy with the safety measures they have taken since they opened back up. Masks are required and enforced, phone numbers are being taken, seating is limited. The place is clean and the staff have been great. In addition to all of the Covid precautions- their menu is amazing! They've added great vegetarian options. The edamame stir fry is great! Other new favorites are the country fried chicken and the Mac and cheese (who doesn't love comfort food?) There is seating inside and outside. Highly recommend! Next time I'll try to take a picture before we start eating. read more

Oh my god, YES! Finally a genuinely good place to watch a game in the greater Walpole area! Spacious, plenty of TVs and awesome beers (21st Amendment on draught, Boulevard 80 Acre in bottle!). This is everything I like about the Norwood location but on steroids - bigger, better and shiny-new. We had the Thai chili wings, Queen margherita pizza and steak and cheese egg rolls. Your waitress Jessica was awesome - super nice and wicked knowledgeable about the beers. We will be back! read more

We love Nappies. I've taken my teenage son there for lunch and we both had excellent burgers and fries. I've gone to Nappies with friends for drinks and love the beer list and friendly staff. I've gone to Nappies for dinner with my wife and loved the fish and chips. All thumbs up. read more

Really excellent lunch, great menu selection and friendly service! Nate took great care of us, we enjoyed a delicious meal on the patio on what may be the last warm day of the season. Highly recommend the Farmer's Salad with added salmon, all really fresh and delicious. Also the Napper Mac & cheese, pizza, and wings (were super tender and flavorful!). We had been meaning to try this place and are glad we did. May try their take out service too. Highly recommend - worth checking out. read more

I have been here a few times now and had a good time. Inside, there is plenty of space at the bars and dining room. Downstairs there is another bar and plenty of pool tables and dart boards, which puts all other bars in the area to shame. Food is pretty good and drink selection is great. Service is typically friendly and quick. Unfortunately, last night I sat on the patio out front. It's on the main road, so it can be noisy. The patio used to be parking, so the tables weren't necessarily level. I can deal with those things, but I had awful service. Incorrect beers were brought out, 3 point glasses were plopped on the table, but we were never told which beers belonged go who. We soon figured it out on our own. She never checked in on us and made us feel like we were bothering her for sitting outside (there were 4 other parties outside with different servers). read more

Great atmosphere. Good food (Killer lunch specials!). Service is OK. Why one star then? I give one star because this location has the RUDEST bar tender I have ever met. She is cold, and nasty towards her customers. She swears like a sailor and is just not at all pleasant. I believe she used to work at this location when it was formerly Becketts. Every time I have gone in there day, or night, she has been there.. and at no time have I seen anything other then trashy and unprofessional. Save yourself the pain of dealing with this retchit woman, and go over to The Ravens Nest! read more

Hosted a party for my company here Friday night. Food was cold because the sternos ran out of flame, bartenders cut people off after two drinks, tip included was not at all what the server deserved. Restaurant was very understaffed so service wasn't that good. read more

Great place to go play some pool or darts and grab some beers for cheap tab. Not sure how many billiards tables there are but it has to be at least 8. Bartenders are really friendly and will always have a conversation. Short tempers on some of the bouncers but don't you put your beer anywhere near the pool table! Pizza is always a last minute decision that could go either way with quality. read more

Great food. Friendly service. Awesome place to stay after dinner for drinks. I got the fried chicken it was very good with mashed potatoes. My wife got broiled haddock she said was excellent. Supposed to be kids size but it was great portions. Awesome place definitely will be my go to now !!!! read more

Even though the service and food was excellent. My family and I will not return, for one simple reason. The background music on the PA system was blasting! My family was in agreement, it sounded like guitar riffs incessantly looping throughout the tavern. The professional waiter even turned down the music, but the noise continued. In closing, we are not foreign to bars nor are we bar snobs, but we simply wanted to enjoy a fine meal in a pleasant environment. read more

Huge thank you to our wonderful waitress at Napper Tandy's! My husband and I met some old friends for an early dinner tonight, and had our 2 year old with us. Our waitress was SO patient with a wiggly two-year old and didn't get frustrated when she wanted to run around the patio or sit on the stairs (RIGHT in the waitstaffs' path). What went totally above and beyond, though, was when she offered to take my daughter to see the rest of the restaurant so I could eat my food - she then took her to a different table and sat with her to make a Father's Day card! It would've been so easy for her to be annoyed at us constantly jumping up and down, but she was beyond patient and wonderful. We will definitely be back (at early, child-appropriate times of course)! read more

I swung into this place when my first choice was too crowded. I'd never seen a restaurant at this location so I checked it out. The place has two large bars completely seperate from each other - which was a little strange - plus a downstairs that wasn't open yet but I'm told will have 9 pool tables and darts. When I mentioned the place smelled of varnish - they said they opened at 11 AM that day for the first time (3/27). I quickly forgot the smell and enjoyed a good selection of craft beers on draft plus the usual brews. The Weihenstephan Heffenweiss unfiltered wheat was exceptional. Jimmy - the bartender - was very helpful and I sampled a number of my top choices. For dinner I tried the fish and chips. It came out as a huge single piece of haddock. Really tasty. The fries were shoestring and average at best. The cole slaw was good but far to scant in quantity. The TV's are large and a good place to watch sports. I would not hesitate to return. read more

Went here tonight 6/6/14. Service was horrible. Waitress drops placemat on floor and still sets it in front of me. My wife gets a cloudy wine glass with lipstick all over the rim. Exchanged without apology. Som ordered sweet potato fries gets regular fries. Again exchanged without apology. Ordered several drinks that sat in the bar and I went up and got myself. Waitress was young and very inexperienced but looked around and unfortunately she has nobody to teach her. They were all terrible including the bartenders and manager. Big thumbs down. read more

This place never disappoints! We have been here 3 times now and love it more every time. Colleen (bartender) is amazing. She literally makes you feel like family. Sam, a new server, absolutely nails what customer service is all about. He is awesome. The food and beer selection is top notch and the outdoor patio is huge and inviting. For a the bad reviewers..give them another shot and I am sure you will change your mind. This place rules. Thanks Napper's! read more

Very disappointing. This was a go to place for me and a friend. We have gone a few times for a drink and a meal and have been happy. Friday night we got there about 7 pm. It was very loud and it took a few minutes for our waitress to come to take our drink order. We ordered our drinks and the pretzel appetizer which was run of the mill nothing special nothing bad about it. She came back for our food order. I ordered chicken cordon bleu and my friend ordered grilled steak tips - he hadn't eaten all day and was starving. The waitress came back and said they were out of chicken cordon bleu so I looked at the menu again and ordered napper tandy chicken. Our food came out and i could tell at first site the napper tandy chicken was not going to be good. Two tiny pieces of chicken with a blob of mozzerella over pasta that had way to much oil on it. My friends teak tips were not grilled and they were also tiny tips. Neither of us ate our meal - the waitress came back and could see i hadn't touched mine and took it off the bill - the manager came over and agreed the tips were not grilled and looked disappointing. We won't be back for a while there are many other dining options in the area. read more
