Popped in for lunch after hearing lots of positive reviews and so happy that i finally came here. Huge bar area with ample TVs to watch sports. Parking is on the street and there are decent number of street spots directly outside shared with other businesses. We got an order of the buffalo wings, BBQ bacon cheeseburger melt, and hot rod chicken sandwich - everything was good perfectly and very tasty. Food came out piping hot and portions were also massive so come with an appetite or be prepared to take a doggy bag home. Used to order the fish and chips and steak tip dinner both were very delicious, but the young girl they have answering the phone is very rude, disrespectful and can't take an order right to safe her life. The atmosphere is perfect for that old time belly up to the bar w a cheers type vibe. portions good, fairly priced. (bathroom could have been much cleaner) I will give it a second chance as my initial visit was disappointing. Hopefully the next time won't be the day before the grease is changed out. This place always screams sketchy to me, but my friends like it, and I wanted to get them something for helping me out. So in I went for a gift card and was charged over the desired amount. When I asked why, the bartender told me they charge extra for gift cards. Really? Like you are Visa Signature or something? If you're going to do that, it's probably best to explain that at the time of purchase? And maybe not have a massive attitude when explaining your absurd policy. I had the worst dinner here. I asked the waitress for recommendations and she shrugged her shoulders. When I asked about the ribs, she said they were great. I ordered the full rack with a salad to start. The salad came with a half filled side of dressing. When I asked for more, I didn't get it until the entry. I thought it was sour cream to go with my baked potato. The reason why I gave them 2 stars is the portions were huge! The half rack would have been plenty. I asked for butter to go on the potato at least3 times. I never got any. The ribs were very dry and lacking flavor. I got extra bbq sauce which helped but I couldn't eat more than 3 ribs. When I told the waitress I thought the ribs were too dry, she agreed and said they sometimes come out that way. That's it. No offer to get something else. I know they were very busy, but that doesn't mean you should recommend something that you know is sub par. And at least alert your manager that there is a problem. I won't go back. read more

I am brand new to this town and stopped in alone for dinner. I feel humiliated by the way I was treated; I have a newly onset neuro disorder involving tics and other movements (but not cognition) so in a way I kind of get it. One of my favorite local haunts, maybe my very favorite! Bartenders Amanda, Amanda, Maureen, Heather, Joyce, Sophia, June and Jennifer are without peer (except for each other!). And the food is really, really good -- from the Stuffed Quahogs and Garlic Mussels "Qualifiers" to the Iceberg Wedge Salad (loaded with Bleu Cheese goodness -- try it with grilled shrimp!) to the Caesar Salad (try it with the grilled shrimp AND anchovies!) to every single variation of their Angus Burger... what's not to like? Great local spot for pub food at a great price. Hidden gem right off of 109 just past the fire station, Victory Lane is what every small town should have. The menu has a great mix of comfort foods such as mac n cheese, buffalo chicken quesadillas or a great grilled burger as well as more hearty fare such as prime rib or the amazingly tender steak tip dinner. The prices are really cheap especially for the amount of food you get, the pasta dishes can easily be made into 2 meals. Great place to grab a quick drink and the score to whatever game is playing on TV, but I prefer it for takeout as it tends to get crowded during the busier times. read more

Came in a 145pm after getting a haircut and sat at the bar. Bartender was a tall girl with long black hair and refused to acknowledge me and kept serving people around me. At no time did she say I will be right with you and kept ignoring me. I understand this is a dive bar with all the regular customers but WOW. Okay...I'm a big fan. It's my favorite local place. Food is cheap and great. The victory lane burger is a double bacon cheeseburger with a side for 7.99. Spinout pizza (a taco pizza) is awsome. Pulled pork sandwich with a side for 5.99. All great. Guinness for under 3.50...really??? What more can you want? If you're looking for a nice glass of wine...you're in the wrong place. But if you're looking to drink with an old guy wearing a green bandana (his name is Roger), you're in the right place. Came here for some good bar food. Sat down got our drinks ordered with Nicole. Then ordered the spinach &artichoke dip. In the mean time Nicole came back and got our dinner order. We got the New Baked Fried cheese ravioli dish and chicken fingers and fries. It took about 10-15 min for the app to get delivered. About 4 chips in to the app, Nicole brought us our dinners. If I could rate Victory Lane on food and drinks alone, I'd give them five stars. It's your typical bar food, but large portions and delicious. It's always hot and you just can't beat the price. The drinks are strong and wonderful. I could even overlook the not so clean atmosphere and crowd. However, the service is so ridiculously poor that it brings the rating down to 1 star. It's really that bad. I am not exaggerating at all. The waitresses act as if taking your order and bringing your meal is the most inconvenient thing on the planet. I've been there many times and have yet to have a good experience service wise, which is why I usually go for takeout. Unfortunately, not even that is safe at this point. First off, to get in this place, you are basically flying blind because you have to navigate through the haze of smoke to even find the door due to the amount of smokers hovering around the entrance. When you finally get in, good luck finding a seat because it's usually as crowded as Black Friday at the mall- and with an even surlier crowd. The waitresses seem to care more about chatting amongst themselves than seating us, even though the sign says to wait to be seated. We eventually just sat ourselves at the only available table and waited. And waited. And waited. After what felt like an eternity, a disinterested hostess halfheartedly plopped ONE menu in front of the FOUR of us. We had to ask for more menus and the way she reacted you'd think we asked her to pull a truck across Millis with her teeth. By the time we got the other menus, all of us had already decided what we wanted, but she walked away anyway. She reemerged from the depths eons later and took our order. Then the waiting game began again. Luckily, there was an amazing band playing, Clyde Brown (now defunct), so it made the wait a little more bearable. When we got our food, it was what we asked for and was pretty good, as well as being a large portion, so that's where the second star comes from. Before we get to the "main course", let's discuss the atmosphere. I wouldn't say its a swillpit as another reviewer had said, but it isn't pretty. This place is a magnet for drunk townies, and the clientele is rather sketchy. The juxtaposed nature of the families and the rowdy rabble of riffraff at the Nascar themed bar was astounding. Imagine trying to explain to your child the urban dictionary of curse words these people throw around while trying to enjoy some chicken fingers. Now back to the meal. When the waitress meandered back to our table, we payed the bill with a coupon from the Millis Football fundraiser. It says right on the card that it is reusable, but the waitress returned the receipt with no coupon. She claimed her boss told her to keep it. I persisted and eventually got her to go back and talk to her boss. She returned decades later with the card and then told me her boss said to give it back to me, as it is reusable. Now, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, but something about both of her stories doesn't add up. Either way, I got my coupon back so I was happy. Now on to the main event. The band was in between sets and we were sitting enjoying some waters and shooting the breeze. We were seated next to the Keno machine, so we saw a good amount of "patrons" come by to play their luck. However, there was one encounter that was just... unreal. A woman, clearly into the double digits on drinks, stumbled over and began to mumble, seemingly conversing with us. After a few jumbled, near incoherent sentences it became clear that she thought we were the members of the band. She pointed me out specifically and told me that with my "raspy voice", I was "going places". She gave us the advice to "get out of Millis", specifically to a bar in Rhode Island, near the "tip of Connecticut" (her words), the King's Tavern. According to her, it takes 45 minutes on her motorcycle to get there, but it would take 40 minutes by car. SIDE NOTE: After this encounter, we investigated and there is no such place as the King's Tavern, only the Tavern on Main which fit her description and looked just as trashy as Victory Lane. Back to the Close Encounter of the Drunken Kind, she proceeded to tell us how all the Blues "greats" got their starts there and went on to name artists that we had never heard of. Apparently, though, she is well versed in the subject because she is a self proclaimed "Bluesy B*tch". She went on to tell me that my mother had her business card and she'd set us up there. This is actually hilarious, because this was Clyde Brown's final show, which she was too hammered to notice. Throughout the whole "conversation" (she was the only one talking) she kept asking us if we were still in high school and she kept touching my arm. She left with with a pat on the cheek (gross) and a band name, the Blues Brothers (very original). I'll take this moment to point out that there were THREE of us, FOUR members of the actual band, and TWO Blues Brothers. Unbelievable. Decent food though! read more

I'm normally a big fan of VL but tonight was really bad. I called in a pick up pizza for my son and me and was anticipating the usual GREAT pizza we're used to. I arrived a few minutes before I was told it would be ready in hopes to perhaps enjoy a tasty adult beverage. I sidled up to the bar and took my seat. The place was hoppin, apparently it's trivia night. I tried several times to make eye contact with a bartender but none of the 4 who were working would acknowledge me. This went on for 17 minutes until I leaned over the bar and asked (loudly) Excuse me... is that pizza sitting on the rack for Rich? The bartender begrudgingly strolled over and looked at the tab, picked up the pizza and just dropped it on the bar in front of me and walked away. I love this place so I was shocked tonight! After the short cute blond bartender dropped the pizza in front of me and walked away it took me another 5 minutes to get anyone's attention so I could pay and leave. Not only didn't I get a drink while waiting, several customers who were there before I arrived and some who came in after I got there were quickly served drinks, menu's and smiles??? Was I invisible tonight Wednesday June 8th 2016 at 8:00pm??? I'll keep going back, but has civility gone by the wayside and I'll have to be rude and yell and wave my hands to get attention from now on? I like to go into a place that I frequent and no matter how busy it is.... be acknowledged withing a few minutes. We love going here! Great food and great service. Their pizza is delicious as well as most things on the menu. I love their salads! They are huge and filled with yummy ingredients. One of my favorites is the chicken teriyaki salad which I get without the teriyaki sauce and with ranch dressing. Sounds weird, but it is soooo good! My kids love the quesadillas here. Been here a few times. Last time I went getting a table was a nightmare! The host put me on a list with one party ahead. However multiple people walked in after me a just sat at a table including one party who was ushered to a table by a server.
