    Hot and dirty martini
    Steve H.

This place should be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, although it is really "none of the above." From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But I was told this a great spot with great food. For me, the charm of the place is the bar on the left as you walk in. Cool Dive bar feeling with great art on the walls. This place delivered. The menu has something for everyone's taste. I had the hot and dieting martini,it was perfect, we shared the house loaded nachos (enough for 4) and ordered the Jimmy 2 times!, pepperoni pizza that was delicious. We took half it home. We will be back for the Abe Froman. But this place is all about the food. There are so many wonderful places to have lunch, but this one is special. If you haven't had the Lewis burger, you are missing one of life's greatest pleasures. If you want a great lunch for $25-30, go to one of the upscale restaurant. If you want an outstanding burger or sandwich, try Lewis'. I can almost guarantee that you'll go back a second time.

Food always good. Steak tips are excellent... not sure the sprinkles of sesame seeds needed Tater tots , onion rings were mashing Specials are always worth a try. Easy , casual front bar area... rear bar, restaurant all good for football game days

Gluten free bun with blue cheese and burger

Visited as a party of 6 on a Sunday evening. Looked after by Julia who was excellent!! Really good. I'm a coeliac so we had a gluten free pizza to start between us and it's one of the best I've tasted. Customised my burger to have a gluten free bun. Lots of great choices on the menu. Great place to eat, we had a great night. Highly recommend.

If you haven't been here and in particular been to the front bar, you are missing out! Great pub grub, great drinks, and great staff! We found it by accident and can't wait to come back.

Everything is great at this place! from food to service, everyone is super nice and friendly here!

Burgers with onion rings and farmhouse fries

Had burgers, onion rings and farmhouse fries. Nothing like a truly flame broiled burger that is perfectly prepared! The onion rings are a classic New England thin and crispy batter-- the kind you expect from a great seafood roadside shop. No salt added to them, but I prefer to control the amount of salt on my onion rings and fries anyway. (By the way, they taste great without salt.). We decided to try the farmhouse fries- they're hand cut wedges with an excellent seasoning. I'd go back again!

I just needed a relaxing lunch(by Maine Brewing Co) for dinner...

We had a great time. We were seated and served quickly. Got the pleated pant pizza which was your standard fig and pig for $20 which was enough for 2 people and was very good. We each got a beer. I got a 12 oz Maine beer co. "Lunch" for 9.00 and I was thrilled because I have been charged more for an 8oz. Size of the same beer. I guess I know where I should go drinking now... The Lunch beer does not go with the fig pizza though.... . Wish we could have sat outside but they didn't have the waitstaff available for that. They did offer for us to order at the bar and take the food outside which was pretty accommodating, but we decided to eat inside. The inside was fun and the music wasn't too loud so it was a successful night all around.

But they were good, it was the right amount of cheese to waffle fry. For my main I got the Reuben which was Ok but a bit of a let down. Really heavy sauerkraut and thousand island flavor. The fries also were a little over cooked for my taste. All in all would go back for the massive bar and solid appetizers along with excellent service.

The bolognese here is next level especially when you ask for pepper flakes on the side and extra sauce. Absolutely amazing. And fair warning I learned the hard way that this bolognese is not on every Tavern menu so when you find it appreciate it fully. Service is always warm and efficient from the moment you walk in. It feels easy and welcoming every single time. They also have a rewards system which is a nice little bonus for a spot we already frequent. This is one of our favorite local date night places. Cozy vibes great food and consistent quality keep us coming back over and over. Hubby swears by the chicken ranch sandwich and the fish and chips and honestly he is not wrong. Pop in enjoy the food enjoy the vibes and stay a while. We sometimes stay for hours and just talk and flirt!

But I was not impressed this time as it had way too much pineapple juice which overpowered all the other flavors. As an appetizer, my friend and I ordered the Philly cheese steak egg rolls. We were there just in time to get 1/2 off apps as long as we signed up to be members (for free). With signing up, we also got $5 off our bill, and our waitress mentioned that they constantly release good coupons/deals. The Philly cheese steak egg rolls were very good - cheesy, savory, crispy, and the dipping sauce almost tasted like buffalo and ranch so it added a creamy and spicy flavor to the rolls. I was not hungry enough to order an entrée, but my friends ordered the chicken and waffles and steak tip dinner. The chicken was a little bland in my opinion, but still moist and crispy. The waffles were a tad bit too sweet, where added syrup was an overkill. I prefer when the waffle isn't as spicy so the syrup can make up for it. There are lots of tables inside - low tops, high tops, bar seating, and booths - as well as TVs to watch sports. They also have tables with umbrellas outside on their patio area. There is plenty of parking and it is easy on / easy off from the highway. Our waitress was very engaging and brought us everything we needed.

The weather, the beer, the food and a fun barmaid in a wood paneled pub are all single qualifies that makes me harken back to my past, living in London and then in North Wales in the 1980s. And the other patrons, Americans all, still were like an American version of an English pub crowd. There were young and old, posh business types, sitting next to manual laborers.. The barmaid (whose name was known by most of the regulars there, although I have forgotten it (alas I must be getting old!) is a pistol. Always chatting and joking, while she poured pints, and even Bells scotch, which is a standard blend found in just about every pub in England. The only sense that was missing was the ubiquitous scent of wood (oak) found in almost all of the pubs in Britain. That unmistakable scent you can find in the many old (generally Irish) pubs around Faneuil Hall, btw. When I asked the barmaid (always smiling and laughing) about the fish n chips, she gave a wink and said "ooh, Love. Ya picked the best day for that. The fish is delivered from the dock every Wednesday." I ordered a pint of Smithwicks ale to enjoy at the bar, as she took my order for fish n chips. She leaned forward and whispered to me, somewhat conspiratorially, that it's served with salad, as the owner has not yet found a coleslaw recipe that meets his standards. Very evocative again. I watched, listened and drank my ale deeply, as the barmaid described another barmaid as "so wonderful, the only thing missing is there should be two of her!" We all nodded and laughed. Fun place. The fish n chips arrived hot, very fresh and perfectly crunchy with beer batter. The chips (fries) were hand cut, as you could see the small bits of potato skin at the ends. Served with a very attractive and crunchy salad, and of course malt vinegar, it was a bargain at a lower price than the $20+ charged at many local watering holes. I ordered another pint, and then dug in. It was very fresh and somewhat thick piece cod. The flesh of the fish separates into large fleshy flakes under the crispy beer batter, and the chips had flavor (as opposed to the more common extruded fries usually found here). But it's more than just the food and the bar. The atmosphere at this pub is so very real--sort of the best aspects of some nice neighborhood cozy pubs in Britain. If it's cold outside, you can just shamble in, and rub your hands together and mutter "lovely" as you savor your drink and food. Welcome!
