The crab cakes may be a little small, but they are absolutely delicious! The sauce was slightly tangy for my taste, but the flavor and quality of the crab cakes definitely made up for it. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was outstanding, honestly better than what I've had at places like Capital Grille. Add in the fresh, delicious bread, and the meal starts off perfectly. I highly recommend the Brandt 14 ounce Aged New York Sirloin; it was easily my favorite dish of the night. And don't leave without trying the New York Cheesecake the perfect ending to an amazing meal! The ambiance of the restaurant was warm, elegant, and inviting, making it a great place for a relaxing dinner. The atmosphere paired perfectly with the excellent food and attentive service, creating an overall upscale dining experience. I was attempting to treat my elderly grandmother to a very special meal as I was passing by her assisted living facility on a work trip and read great reviews about this place. When it comes to steaks, I rarely eat out because I have a paranoia of being let down. I always buy my meat from a butcher and cook them beautifully on a charcoal (yes, if you cook on propane it's not actually grilling - poser) grill. This trip to Amelias reinforced why I shouldn't stray from handling good meat myself. The place itself is cool, my grandmother was very impressed which is honestly all that matters. Of course she was enamored by the bread options and the whipped butter with olive oil was honestly a nice touch. I ordered a bottle of pellegrino and was surprised the waitress never topped me off (get your mind out of the gutter). Whatever, I had to serve my own drink but at a place of that caliber you'd think the wait staff would understand that when a bottle of any sort is purchased they should be asking the diners if they'd like a refill. We ordered the tuna tartare and my grandmother had never even heard of such a dish before. She enjoyed a bite and then I inhaled the rest - yes I am fat and hungry NOT SORRY. We ordered our steaks and I got excited too soon. I can't help but shake my head, I NEVER get steaks out any more because even at steak houses I am most often let down. I am not trying to sound cheap but at $68 a steak I am expecting a melt in your mouth masterpiece (that's what they used to call me back in the day) and honestly the meat we got was a MAJOR let down. Steak alone has it's flavor and this piece was lacking. They overcooked it and it was genuinely tough even with the LITTLE pink they allowed me to enjoy. I was really heartbroken but the only reconciliation for this was that my aged grandmother was ecstatic and this meal wasn't for me, it was an attempt to treat my grandmother to what could be one of her last few really special meals. A pretty good menu that covers a variety of appetizers, meat, and seafood. It also has a nice selection of wine and cocktails. Bathroom is clean. Would certainly return! This was my second time here. Brought my out-of-state relatives for drinks and apps after a Logan Express pick up. The restaurant was close to filled at 7:45pm on a Thursday. While we were seated at the rear of the dining room, it soon became apparent that a screeching toddler was seated next to us. We would have preferred staff to have mentioned this and seated us more toward the other end. I get the struggle, but I'm a paying customer too. My lemon drop martini was spectacular! My BILs martini was inadvertently knocked about when apps were delivered to the table. He lost about a third of it. Kalei said she'd bring another, but never did. She was slammed and checked back often, but replacing the drink would have been appreciated. The noisy toddler and the spilled drink were the only disappointments of the evening. We enjoyed the following apps: hanger steak, calamari, grilled octopus (my fav), meatballs, arancini, Philly cheesesteak egg rolls & Greek salad (second fav). We love Amelia's, consistently our go-to when we want to celebrate but stay local. It's not cheap but appropriately priced for what it is; higher end but w/o the city markup because it's not downtown. My wife and I are okay with paying a bit more for a dinner out if it's worth it. We like to try new spots regularly and have been a bit annoyed by seeing more and more nicer places charge city prices - 20 miles outside Boston. It's rare that we're "one and done," we usually give places a second shot if the first time wasn't great. I a guy that eats (and very much enjoys) both Applebees and Grill 23 and everything in between. For me, the consistency of the food, the service and the value of the experience should match the price, whatever the price is. Amelia's delivered again on what I expected it to be - a great environment, excellent service and delicious food. When the waiters seem happy to be there again and again, it's usually a great sign. We've probably been ten times now in the last couple years and have yet to leave disappointed. Amelia's has proven several times now that it is definitely worth it, consistent and is now in our regular rotation for celebrations. The food is delicious and despite it being a pretty large restaurant, it is almost always full when we go. We've sat in a few different areas now and while the food and service are consistently great the vibe is different depending on where you sit- in a good way. As they continue to succeed it would be nice to see the outside area get a bit of a refresh. It's good, but inside feels much fancier. If you're on the fence, try it out. I ordered the lobster macaroni; which was very watery the flavor was kinda there I'll give them that, but barely had lobster in it for the price paid. We also got fried calamari that was pretty tasty flavorful& fresh. The calamari was my favorite honestly; My best friend at the time got fried chicken that was TERRIBLE, no flavor. My sister got her self a garden salad that was pretty much fresh. Overall I would just go there for drinks w| my friends, I unfortunately did not get to experience the restaurants ambience due to me getting discharged from the hospital after a major stroke. But when I went in to pick the food up they have a very elegant, warm set up. For sure a lesson learned though. read more
