Cheryl and I met our daughter and daughter-in-law at Brick & Beam in Quincy to celebrate Jamie's 31st birthday, and we had a really nice evening together. Even more exciting, Jamie is due in December with our third grandchild, another little girl, so we had plenty to celebrate. We started with Bang Bang Cauliflower, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Shrimp Cocktail, and every appetizer was a great choice. The girls ordered an Aperol Spritz, an Espresso Martini, and a soda water with lime while I kept it simple with a Bud Light. For dinner, Jamie and I both ordered the steak tips with mashed potatoes and spinach. The steak tips were cooked perfectly, and the Parmesan mashed potatoes were especially good. Regen enjoyed the avocado salad with chicken, while Cheryl had filled up on appetizers and happily shared some bites from my plate. The food easily earns 5 stars. Everything we ordered was delicious. I'd give the atmosphere 4 stars. It was comfortable, lively, and a great place to spend a couple of hours catching up. The only thing keeping this from being a 5-star overall experience was the service. I'd give that 3 stars. Perhaps our waitress was new or simply having an off night, but she was very inattentive. Several times she walked past our table without checking in while we were waiting to order more drinks, place our appetizer order, and later our dinner order. I would even call out to her and she just walked by. The good news is that it didn't put a damper on the evening. We were having such a great time talking, laughing, and celebrating that the slow lack of service was easy enough to overlook. Overall, I'd give Brick & Beam 4 stars. Great food, a nice atmosphere, and despite the service hiccups, we had a wonderful night celebrating Jamie's birthday. To top it all off, we took a short walk down the street afterward and finished the evening with ice creams from Dairy Freeze. It was the perfect ending to a great family night! read more

My wife and I ordered steak tips and mac and cheese to go. When we got home, we realized they had forgot the steak. My wife called to just get a price adjustment even though she was upset because she was craving the tips. The manager offered to deliver them immediately. They already had me won over because the food is very good, but the customer service is just as good. You just dont get good customer service anymore so I really appreciated his gesture. Super impressed Brick & Beam! My MIL organized my SIL grad celebration dinner there. Not sure what happened exactly but there was some sort of mix up and they didn't have us down, with a group of 20 or so. This could have been a disaster but they handled it so incredibly well. The team was super apologetic and was able to accommodate us anyways. Mistakes happen and how a business handles them says a lot. The team went above and beyond to take care of us! Extra BBQ sauce and sour cream on the side were perfect so that we could add/dip as desired. The B&B burger was thick, juicy, and cooked perfectly medium. Tomato, lettuce, and pickles were served on the side so the bun wasn't soggy. Would recommend if you're looking for some classic American/bar food with unique/tasty flavor combinations! I stopped by here with my mother to grab a bite to eat. It was pretty busy since it was during lunch hour but we were still able to get seated right away. The atmosphere was a bit on the loud side but most if not all of the seating is right by a bar so that is to be expected. The service was excellent. The waitress came over to us right away and took our drink order and then was back in no time at all to get our food order. My mother had the New England clam chowder which she said was tasty. I on the other hand was in the mood for a full meal so I got the steak tips which came with broccoli and rice but instead of the rice I substituted french fries. The espressos were not good but we did not say anything - nothing like the one the night before. Great service. Friendly, helpful and welcoming. We ate in the tent outback. The burgers are simply the best. Chicken wings were a bit of a disappointment to me. They were hard and drenched in too much sauce. I don't mind getting down and dirty eating wings but these dripped sauce even trying to wipe some off. I took them home with me hoping to be able to eat them and worry about being covered in sauce ear to ear but the meat was so hard. Just a fail for me. The fish and chips were good. I went here last night and for American food/apps this place was pretty satisfying. We got wings, nachos for apps both very good although the nachos could have had a tad more chicken/toppings . The Buffalo boneless tenders were crispy and the blue cheese was perfecto. My favorite was the Buffalo chicken cauliflower crust pizza (yes we went all out). Even my teen who would eat a baby seal if you called it "nachos" asked why they obliterated the cheese and toppings. They placed a nice fat slop of sour cream to hide their sins, but there's no hiding the travesty that was placed on our table. My wife and I have had Brick and Beam on our radar for quite sometime but thought we'd wait until the new restaurant jitters calmed down. Last night we gave them a try and were extremely impressed. Great menu with a wide diversity of options. We chose the Greek salad and house burger. Really well presented and of a high quality. What really made our visit special was the service. Our server Kerin was extremely attentive, personable and professional. She constantly kept an eye on us without hovering over our table. A real pro. Found this little place in Quincy while getting work done on my car across the street. First impressions: we arrived at 2:30PM and we were immediately greeted at the door upon arrival. Multiple TV's to watch and a very clean and spacious atmosphere. Drinks: I started with a really good Dark and Stormy and my wife had a stolie Punch which I thought was ok. Food. Starting with the General Gau calimari and the Mexican street corn....WoW Amazing. The flavors were all there, Up next was the chicken Caesar pizza and The B and B burger. Hands down the best Chicken Cesar pizza I've ever had I couldn't lie, My wife thought her burger was good but would definitely be better with BBQ sauce or something like that. Good selection of local beers and some interesting drink selections including, of all things, an espresso martini on draft. I got the steak tips cooked rare and my wife had a Mediterranean bowl. I live right down the street from this place and always have the best experience with the staff, except the hostesses. For some reason I always feel like they don't listen, especially in the "current climate" they are on a bit of a power trip. I do love the other staff. Anyhow, finally spoke with a nice hostess tonight. So nice that I'm compelled to write this review. She was kind, thoughtful and didn't make me feel shunned, like all of the other hostesses there. Her name is Melanie! She's amazing and I'm so thankful that Brock and beam finally have a hostess that makes you feel welcome, comfortable and dare I say, she acted like an actual hostess. Stand up thing to do. I ordered the Sausage Biscuits and Gravy. It was delicious. Perfect amount of savory and salt. The biscuits were fluffy and complemented the sausage gravy perfectly.
